Congrats! Este es el primer paso para ser un wRITING genius.
TIPS GENERALES En cada bloque atacaremos un tipo distinto de writing. Es muy importante que te informes bien de qué tipo de texto deberás escribir en tu examen ya que por ejemplo, la escritura de una story no entra en muchos exámes oficiales pero sí s í en otros. En cada uno de los bloques encontrarás tips, estructura, language toolbox (vocabulario y frases molonas), dos ejemplos, tres tareas y checklists para tu autocorrección. Vuelve a leer tu texto y marca todas las casillas que puedas...puedes añadir cosas y mejorar tu writing! Al final del eBook encontrarás una sección llamada Extra Boost! que incluye: phrasal verbs más útiles, idioms y frases hechas, cool adjectives (adjetivos adjectives (adjetivos maravillosos para huir de good, bad, happy ... y darle mucha variedad a tus writings) y conectores. Use them! Recuerda separar bien tu texto en párrafos Controla la extensión que debe tener tu texto, esto dependerá del tipo de examen al que te presentes. En este caso, yo he optado por la extensión de 140-190 palabras.
Ten en cuenta que mi intención es guiarte y ayudarte con tips, vocabulario y estructura. Sin embargo, no hay nada escrito en piedra y te recomiendo combinar todo lo que aprendas conmigo con mucha lectura y muchísima práctica sin descuidar las demás destrezas.
Te recuerdo que también tienes en la web un Workbook de Use of English para English para que no se te escapen las preposiciones, phrasal verbs, conectores y estructuras gramaticales más usadas.

INFORMAL LETTER or EMAIL GENERAL TIPS Recuerda abrir y cerrar el texto con las expresiones adecuadas. Empieza reaccionando a las noticias que tu amigo te ha dado en su carta. Consigue un tono informal: Usa contracciones - isn't, I'd, I've, shouldn't Utiliza phrasal verbs y algún idiom o proverb Usa conectores más informales Usa al menos una question tag Repasa y fíjate bien si has respondido a TODAS las preguntas/información que tu amigo te solicita en su carta. No repitas vocabulario, tira de sinónimos. Usa cool adjectives. Separa bien los párrafos para que sea agradable de leer y quede ordenado.

Hi Jack, Sorry for taking a ages ges to get back to you but I had to to hit the books for my final final exams. I'd love to help you with your project. p roject.
My town has changed quite a bit in the last ten years because a huge park was opened near the centre. Also, some locals set up shop around the new green area so there are cafés, stores and a gym for people to keep fit. What's more, some of the old houses in the suburbs were renovated a few years ago and the neighbourhood looks gorgeous now. As for our free time, we love meeting up in the park and even have picnics there if the weather is good. However, youngsters usually spend the afternoon window shopping or just checking their social media on their phones, I guess it's tthe he same everywhere! We have a small cinema too and it's a great plan to unwind every now and then.

REVIEW GENERAL TIPS Un review es una reseña de un producto o servicio. Pueden pedirte que escribas sobre muchas cosas, yo te he preparado expresiones para los que más se repiten: peli o serie, s erie, libro, hotel, restaurante, web, curso, evento.
¿Qué te gusta encontrar a ti en un review antes de ver una se serie rie o comer en un restaurante? Da detalles y ejemplos de tu experiencia. Tu misión es informar al lector si merece o no la pena consumir el producto o vivir la experiencia.
Ponle un buen título que llame l lame la atención. Una idea podría ser combinar un adjetivo intenso (tienes una lista más adelante) + título/experiencia. Por ejemplo: "The astonishing Amèlie", "An unforgettable experience in Madrid"...
Si escribes sobre una peli, libro, serie ... no te excedas hablando del argumento (plot). Escribe en pocas líneas de qué va la trama para situar al lector ssin in spoilers y luego describe el resto de elementos (characters, script, soundtrack ...).
Utiliza adjetivos variados para describir, huye de good / bad.
Puedes combinar las expresiones de la guía pero siempre dando razones y ejemplos concretos de aquello que estás describiendo.
Antes del examen piensa en un libro, una serie y una peli que hayas disfrutado y lee un poco sobre ello en inglés (quién lo creó, en qué año fue publicado, vocabulario relacionado con ello...). Es un tema muy común en writing o speaking.

A BREATHTAKING ADVENTURE The Wilds is Wilds is hands down the best adventure series I have watched in recent years. It was released in 2020 and created by Sarah Streicher.
The plot revolves around a group of teenage girls who are stranded on a desert island after their plane crashes. The flashback storytelling and the way the young women bond and try to survive in this mysterious setting had me on the edge of my seat.
It was a nice surprise to find that the lead actresses were so young and talented but Sarah Griffiths, who plays the antagonist role, stands out and gives an impressive performance. Moreover, the soundtrack is absolutely perfect, combining different music genres to match the scenes and make the chapters even more absorbing. However, I was rather disappointed to see that the ending is confusing and it takes an unexpected turn in the last few minutes that leaves you craving for answers... so let's hope there is a new season soon!
I'd recommend this show to anyone who likes adventure and action-packed scenes. I'm sure it will have you glued to the TV!

A MEXICAN EXPERIENCE IN THE HEART OF VALENCIA Tecolotes is a Mexican restaurant located in a lively neighbourhood, within walking distance of the city centre. I enjoyed a delicious meal with friends there while on vacation in Valencia.
The menu offered a wide range of Mexican dishes, including the traditional tacos but introducing innovative options such as a recipe called "chilaquiles" with a mouth-watering creamy sauce as well as an impressive variety of cocktails. cocktails. After having some side dis dishes hes and enjoying their their specialty of the day, green enchiladas, we ordered their amazing home-made pecan pie which left us speechless. What's more, we were pleasantly surprised to see that the staff were very friendly, always making sure we had enough sauces and drinks on the table. The walls were decorated with portraits of old Mexican celebrities and the background music made the experience even more enjoyable.
However, we were disappointed when we couldn't book a table for the following weekend. Since it's a small place it's usually packed, so make sure you call them well in advance.
If you are in Valencia, you can't miss it! I'm sure you won't regret ordering some spicy bites at this magical place.

Y
ESSAY GENERAL TIPS Utiliza un registro académico - neutral/formal. No estás escribiendo para un amigo, debes escribir tus ideas de forma clara, usando razones o ejemplos. No uses contracciones, utiliza - do not, is not, should not ... PLANEA tu Essay antes de escribir. En serio, hazlo. Desarrolla cada idea a modo de esquema: qué vas a decir y qué ejemplo/razón/contrast vas a dar. En tu esquema, puedes también anotar ideas de vocabulario o expresiones que puedes usar, así al ponerte a escribir todo fluirá mucho más rápido. Usa CONECTORES. Intenta empezar cada párrafo párrafo con uno de ellos y además incluye alguno más en tu BODY. Son imprescindibles para dar razones, ejemplos o contrastar. Intenta dedicarle a cada idea la misma extensión. Aunque no es matemático, sí que da a tu texto más equilibro. No repitas palabras. Un error muy común es escribir "people" , "things" o bien la palabra clave de tu essay demasiadas veces. Usa palabras más específicas para el tema y busca sinónimos. Por ejemplo, si hablamos de educación puedes usar students, pupils, educators, instructors, teachers... en lugar de "people". Usa estructuras gramaticales distintas para darle más riqueza al texto. Passives - Es más fácil de lo que parece, I promise. Piensa en una frase con objeto, escríbela en sucio y luego transfórmala. Poco a poco te saldrá natural.

Impersonal Passives - It is believed / said / reported / thought ... Modal Verbs - might (probabilidad), ought to=should, could ... Conditionals - If schools had been more prepared, online education would have been easier for teachers and students.

I guess some people wouldn't believe me if I told them I look up to my boss, Elaine. Strange as it may it seem, she manages to be a leader and a colleague at the same time.
At first, when she took over the company, she came across as very serious, cold and demanding... we were terrified! However, you should never judge a book by its cover.
I remember the day everything changed for me. It was hailing and freezing cold and I was at the bus stop after a long day at work. Elaine saw me there and she offered me a lift home immediately and to my surprise, I really enjoyed the ride. I realised then that she is passionate about her job and really cares about her workers. She made me feel so comfortable that I even mentioned how small our desks were. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw them replaced the week after!
Why do I admire her? That's an easy question. Having worked in many places I can recognise a good employer when I see one: open-minded, fair, helpful and hardworking.

It all began a misty winter night when Jordan was home alone. Everything was always peaceful in his small town, especially after midnight, so he was puzzled to hear loud voices outside.
At first, he thought it was just a car passing by, but after a while, he put on his coat and decided to go out to check. Mysteriously, his street was empty but as soon as he turned a corner he caught a glimpse of a woman hiding behind a streetlight. "Is everything alright, miss?", he asked. All of a sudden, two men crossed the street running frantically and Jordan was scared stiff when he saw that one of them was carrying a gun. Out of the blue someone yelled: "And cut! Good take!". It wasn't until that moment that he realised that cameras, the director and make-up artists were everywhere. A film was being shot right there!
Finally, the crew noticed him and they all had a good laugh. Jordan went home feeling relieved and excited; he couldn't wait to tell his friends he nearly witnessed a murder! Fictional, of course.

REPORT GENERAL TIPS Tu misión es escribir un informe dirigido a un superior (tu jefe, supervisor, director de un centro ...) aunque también puede dirigirse a una organización o compañero. REPORT ON THE LOCAL ENGLISH ACADEMY
Introduction The purpose of this report is to outline the current problems of the local English academy and to make recommendations for future improvements. I conducted a survey among students and parents to find out about their needs.
Current problems Firstly, despite using a communicative method, it is believed that the lessons are too long and therefore younger students get distracted. Secondly, several parents have pointed out that the courses offered do not prepare their children for official exams. Finally, students have complained about the fact WiFi is not available in all the classes.
Recommendations To begin with, shorter lessons and on-line resources such as quizzes and readings would be beneficial for learners in order to focus in class and keep learning from home. Furthermore, teachers should be trained so they can prepare students for official exams. Finally, I would strongly recommend offering a WiFi code to be used in class and the reception area. If the academy were to consider these suggestions, the number of students would increase and the current learners would be focused and pleased.

REPORT ON THE SPORT ACTIVITIES AIMED AT THE YOUTH Introduction This report is intended to describe the sport activities aimed at teenagers in the area and to make recommendations in order to promote an active lifestyle. A survey was carried out among 13-17 year-old teens.
Current activities Firstly, the local gym has brand new facilities including a swimming pool and a fitness studio, which teenagers certainly enjoy. However, it seems the monthly membership is not affordable for them, especially considering most teens prefer to work out only at weekends. Furthermore, the council organises free yoga lessons at Greenpoint Park every Saturday morning. According to the survey, more that 70% of young people would prefer more exciting classes that matched their interests such as skating or urban dancing lessons.
Recommendations I would strongly advise the gym to offer a special weekend pass. By doing this, teenagers would be able to afford the fee and enjoy the facilities. In addition, there should be more variety of classes offered at the park to encourage young people to exercise outdoors. Dancing lessons could be offered as well as a space designed for skaters to practise safely.
