Dedications & Acknowledgements To my wife Rose, for her love and support during the course of completing the White Dove manual. Without her and her hard work, this manual would have taken considerably longer to complete. To my dear friend, Allison Dahlhaus, for her encouragement, devotion and advice throughout the development of WDR and for eagerly volunteering to be my first case study. And to my Mother, Mary “French” Kidd, for teaching me to follow my heart and to always believe in myself. I hope each of you, who are studying this manual, enjoy White Dove Reiki as much as I do.

Rev. Richard D. Kidd
Introduction Welcome to White Dove Reiki. Although there are many forms of Reiki, White Dove Reiki enables the Reiki practitioner to have assistance in the Healing and Attunement process. While most Reiki Masters and Practitioners use different modalities to focus the energies during healings and attunements, White Dove Reiki enables the individual to have a central focal point in which to direct those energies, and transfer the collected energy into the receiver. Within this manual, you will learn how White Dove Reiki can assist you and enable you to be more effective in your practices. White Dove Reiki was given to me in the hope that Reiki Masters and practitioners will embrace, use and pass it along to others. I sincerely hope you find White Dove Reiki to be of great value to you and that it will assist you within your Reiki practices. It is with our hearts, whether through love, devotion, or concern of others that we reach out with Reiki for the overall good of our fellow mankind.

History of White Dove Reiki White Dove Reiki was given to me in a vision during a deep meditation. During this deep meditation, the White Dove approached me in such a way as I was not afraid to receive it. The White Dove was very pure and free and I gladly accepted the offering. I have received many attunements before and have been overwhelmed by the energy that was transferred to me. But receiving this attunement was a peaceful and enlightening feeling. In subsequent meditations the symbols used in White Dove Reiki came to me. From these visions, the development of WDR began. White Dove Reiki was developed with the Reiki practitioner in mind. Although White Dove Reiki is new and has a relatively short history, its use is of great assistance to the Reiki Master and practitioner. It utilizes the concept of visualizing energy carried on the wings of a White Dove to the receiver and then being absorbed by them. In this method, the Reiki Master can concentrate all the energies of reiki directly into the white dove. The White Dove represents the purity of energy and therefore gives the Reiki Master the ability to have the purity and freeness of the White Dove to assist in the Attunement and Healing process.

The Chakras Chakra is a Sanskrit word meaning “wheel” or “disk”. Chakras are the subtle energy centers of our bodies that turn and 'process' the life force energy inside of us. In the Hindu system, there are seven main chakras in the body. Each chakra resonates at a different frequency and vibrational rate, and. Each chakra has a specific color, function and symbol. The chakras are all located in the center of the body. In traditional Western Reiki, this is where the hand positions are held.
Table of Chakra Symbols & Correspondences Crown (in Sanskrit—Sahasrara) • Meaning: Thousand fold • Symbol: 1000 petalled lotus flower • Location: Top or Crown of the Head • Associated Colors: White, Gold, Violet • Main Issues: Spirituality, Selflessness, Divine Guidance
Third Eye (in Sanskrit—Ajna) • Meaning: To Perceive, To Know • Symbol: Two large lotus petals surrounding a circle with a downward pointing triangle White Dove Reiki
11
• Location: Above or Between the Eyebrows • Associated colors: Indigo, • Main Issues: Intuition, Wisdom, Enlightenment
Throat (in Sanskrit—Vishudda) • Meaning: Purification • Symbol: Lotus of 16 petals containing a downward pointing triangle with a circle within it. • Location: Throat or Base of the Neck • Associated colors: Blue • Main Issues: Communication, Self Expression
Heart (in Sanskrit—Anahata) • Meaning: Sound that is made without any two things striking; unstruck • Symbol: Lotus of 12 petals containing a sixpointed star • Location: Center of Chest • Associated colors: Green, Pink • Main Issues: Love, Relationships, Compassion, Forgiveness
Solar Plexus (in Sanskrit—Manipura) • Meaning: Lustrous gem • Symbol: Lotus of 10 petals containing a downward pointing triangle surrounded by three T-shaped Hindu fire symbols. • Location: Between Navel and Base of Sternum • Associated colors: Yellow • Main Issues: Personal Power, Self Will
12
Rev. Richard D. Kidd
Sacral (in Sanskrit—Svadhisthana) • Meaning: Sweetness • Symbol: Six petals containing a second lotus flower and a crescent moon. Within the moon is “makara” the fish tailed alligator. • Location: Lower Abdomen, between navel and genitals • Associated colors: Orange • Main Issues: Reproduction, Sexuality, Creativity, Emotional Balance
Root (in Sanskrit—Muladhara) • Meaning: Root or Support • Symbol: Four petals surrounding a square containing a downward pointing triangle. • Location: Base of Spine, between anus and genitals • Associated colors: Red • Main Issues: Survival, Physical Need
Chakras are an integral part of Reiki, so you may want to try and memorize the locations of the chakras. It is also recommended that you become familiar with the Main Issues of each chakra, so that you can direct the healing energies of Reiki to the chakra that needs balancing.

The Gassho with WDR The word gassho means literally “to place the two palms together”. Gassho is one of several mudras, symbolic hand gestures or positions, though it is possibly the most essential mudra.
Its use characterizes the depths of one’s
enlightenment. Though the gassho is used for many purposes, it is commonly used to express respect, to express the One Mind, to unify polarities, and to focus. This last use is especially useful in reiki. In Buddhism there are many different types of gassho, used for as many different purposes. The two more commonly used gassho are the firm gassho and the gassho of no-mind. In each gassho the eyes are kept focused on the fingertips. The Firm Gassho— The most formal of all the gasshos, it is most commonly used in daily Buddhist practices, and during all Buddhist services. The firm gassho is made by placing your hands together, palm to palm in front of your face. Your fingers and palms should be placed firmly together with your fingers straight rather than bent. Your elbows should be held out a bit of a distance from the body, with the forearms not quite parallel with the floor. There is about a hand’s width distance between the hands and your nose.
Your
fingertips should be even with the tip of your nose. The Gassho of No-Mind— The next most common gassho.
It is used in
Buddhism to greet one another or to greet their teachers. In this gassho, the hands are held a bit more loosely with a slight space between the palms. Your elbows are held at about a forty-five degree angle to the floor. Your elbows are not held at as high of an elevation as in the Firm Gassho.
14
Rev. Richard D. Kidd
In your reiki practice you may choose to use whichever form of gassho you feel most comfortable with. In White Dove Reiki the gassho is used to focus upon your intent and to become one with the energies of reiki.

Experiences from WDR Attunements After the receiving your White Dove Reiki Attunement, you may feel a little light headed, experience shaking in your hands, or feelings of being a bit overwhelmed. Some people feel a warm glow throughout their body for several hours or days after their attunement. Others feel nothing different at all. Everyone who has been attuned has felt things a little different. Many claim to have felt nothing at all. Rest assured that the lack of feeling something is not the result of the attunement not working. You may not feel the effects right away, but as time passes and you begin your practice of the White Dove Reiki, you will find that the subtle effects will become more noticeable to you. Here are a couple testimonies from people who have received a White Dove Reiki Attunement: • From Allison Dahlhaus, Sacred Flames Reiki Founder “Hi Rick, Wow, that was wonderful. There's a lot of tingling in my third eye area as well as at the crown. Very cool! I am honored to be one of the first to receive this beautiful energy - thank you so much! ... For your friendship and kindness. Many Blessings, Alli”
16
Rev. Richard D. Kidd
• From Rose Kidd, Kiddarian Tradition Founder & President “I felt a large disc of golden colored energy bloom right at my third eye charka. It glowed brightly and beams of the golden light radiated straight into my body quickly filling my whole body. I had fallen asleep and it woke me suddenly. Afterwards, the sensation remained with me for several hours and now days later I still feel the presence of the white dove when I close my eyes. Thank you for this wonderful gift. ---Rose” If you would like to share your WDR Attunement experiences with others please visit our website at www.whitedovereiki.tk

Self Healings After receiving your attunement to White Dove Reiki, you should now begin doing self healings. Begin by setting up your peaceful space. For example, light candles, play music, and then invite the White Dove to assist you. Set your intention for the White Dove Reiki self healing to work perfectly and for your Highest Good. Imagine the White Dove filling with violet or white energy increasing as you continue. You can then say, “White Dove Reiki, please assist me in this self healing.” It is perfectly acceptable if you feel comfortable with inviting others to join you, such as Angels, Patron Deities, Faeries, or Ascended Masters. After filling the White Dove with the energy, you must direct it to assist you in your self healing. Continue focusing your concentration on the White Dove filled with the energies of Reiki. Imagine in the distance the dove appears. It is flying toward you. You may imagine that it is glowing with energy. It flies steadily until it reaches you. Direct the White Dove to merge into you, and then guide it to each chakra for as long as you feel it is necessary to do so. Hold your hands (with palms facing down) slightly above your base or root chakra cleansing and healing your base chakra. Move your hands up until they are slightly above your sacral charka, cleansing and healing your sacral charka. Move up and slightly above your solar plexus, cleansing and healing your solar plexus.
18
Rev. Richard D. Kidd
Move up and slightly above the heart chakra, cleansing and healing your heart chakra. Move up and slightly above the third eye chakra, cleansing and healing your third eye chakra. Now hold your hands (with palms still facing down) over your crown chakra, cleansing and healing your crown chakra. Now visualize the energy from the White Dove traveling down from your crown chakra all the way down to the bottom of your feet. Imagine the energy from the White Dove flowing down into the ground where it heals the Earth as well. Now place your hands in the Gasho position, and thank the White Dove for assisting in the self healing. Now you are finished. Even if you don’t feel a change right away, don’t worry. Reiki works and it has worked.

Rev. Richard D. Kidd
Hands-On and Distance Healings White Dove Reiki can be used with other energy healing practices or by itself. When doing any Reiki session, you should always allow your intuition to be your guide. You should already know the reason that the healing is needed, and your clients health problems are. If you are unsure of what the problems are, simply set your intention for White Dove Reiki, to be for the Highest Good of the receiver. Your client should also set his/her intention to receive the healing energies of White Dove Reiki. Your client should be lying down comfortably, or sitting with both feet on the floor and be free from distractions for at least 15 minutes. When doing distance healings, it is not necessary for you to set up a date and time, but if you should decide to do so, that is fine. If both you and your client decide to set up a date and time, he/she should set their intention to receive this healing and close his/her eyes and relax. Begin by setting up your peaceful space. For example, light candles, play music, burn incense or whatever you might need to help you concentrate and then invite the White Dove to assist you. Imagine the White Dove filling with violet or white energy increasing as you continue. You can then say: White Dove Reiki, please join me in sharing the energies and healings with: “receiver’s name.” It is perfectly acceptable if you feel comfortable with inviting others to join you, such as Angels, Patron Deities, Faeries, or Ascended Masters. After filling the White Dove with the energy, you must direct the White Dove to the receiver. Continue focusing on the white dove, and once it has reached the receiver, direct it to merge into him/her. Once it has merged with the receiver, you can now focus on each chakra for as long as you fell it is necessary to do so. White Dove Reiki

Hold your hands, palms facing down, (if this is a distance healing, you can just visualize this) slightly above the receiver's base/root charka. Say the “receiver’s name” cleansing and healing his/her base chakra. Hold your hands are over the receiver's sacral chakra. Say the “receiver’s name” cleansing and healing his/her sacral charka. Hold your hands are up and above the solar plexus. Say the “receiver’s name” cleansing and healing his/her solar plexus. Hold your hands are up and above the heart charka, Say the “receiver’s name” cleansing and healing his/her heart charka. Hold your hands are up and above the third eye chakra. Say the “receiver’s name” cleansing and healing his/her third eye charka. Now, hold your hands, palms still facing down, over the receiver's crown chakra. Say the “receiver’s name” cleansing and healing his/her crown charka. Now visualize the energy from the White Dove slowly traveling down from the receiver's crown chakra all the way down to the bottom of his/her feet. Imagine the energy flowing down into the ground where it heals the Earth as well. Now put your hands in the Gasho position, give thanks to the White Dove for assisting you in the distance healing. Now you are finished. Even if you don’t feel a change right away, don’t worry. Reiki works and it has worked.

Picking Up Negative Energies If you feel that after you have done a healing or attunement on someone and you have picked up the person's symptoms or you feel worn out, don't worry, it's a very common mistake and this can be easily remedied. Just call upon the white dove, fill it with white light energy, and then allow the white dove to be absorbed into your entire body. Imagine as you inhale, the light from the white dove fills your entire body. Feel it travel all the way down from your fingers to your toes, and then when you exhale, imagine that everything that is not the light from the white dove is being expelled out.

Hands-On and Distance Attunements After receiving your attunement to White Dove Reiki, you can then begin passing it on to others through the following attunement method. This method is effective for both hands-on and distant attunements. When giving distance attunements, it is suggested that you set up a date and time for the attunement that is convenient for both you and the receiver. He/she should set their intention to receive the attunement, by closing his/her eyes and relaxing. Begin by setting up your peaceful place. For example, light candles, play music, And invite the White Dove to assist you. Set the intention for the White Dove Reiki attunement to work perfectly and for the Highest Good of the receiver. After filling the White Dove with the energy, you should then direct the White Dove to the receiver. Continue focusing on the White Dove, until it has reached the receiver. Then direct the White Dove to merge into the receiver. Now you can begin focusing on each chakra for as long as you fell it is necessary to do so. Hold your hands (palms facing down) slightly above the receiver's base/root chakra (if this is a distance attunement, you can just visualize this). Teaching WDR When teaching White Dove Reiki, remember to always use this handbook. This handbook was written to give the Reiki Master the foundation for Attunements and Healings using the White Dove Reiki method. WDR is a singular attunement process and is available to everyone, whether they are new to Reiki or already an established Reiki Master. If you have decided to teach WDR, please remember that you are taking on the role of their teacher as well as mentor.
You should always make yourself
available to answer questions and give support to your student.
—
—
Charging for WDR When charging for Attunements or Healings for White Dove Reiki, remember that it is up to you. As a WDR Master/Teacher, you set your own prices and ways in which you are compensated for you time. Please remember that Reiki is a gift that should be shared by all mankind, and all that I ask, is that you keep your prices reasonable and set them accordingly. It is up to you to find out what your local laws require in order for you to charge for your services. Many states require anyone performing “hands-on” forms of holistic medicine to register with their State Massage Board. To check your local laws please visit http://www.sacredpath.org/html/reiki/legal/mtlstateleg.html.
28
Rev. Richard D. Kidd
Many states allow ordained ministers to practice alternative health practices as a part of their religious or spiritual beliefs.
There are many churches that are
willing to ordain ministers regardless of their personal beliefs. Below are two such organizations, both of which I have been ordained by. Both are legally recognized in most states. Please visit their sites for more information. •
The Universal Light Church (http://www.theuniversallight.com) is a nondenominational church that registers people as Healing Ministers.
•
Universal Life Church (http://www.ulchq.net) will ordain anyone without question of their faith, for life and without fee.
I believe that White Dove Reiki is a gift for all mankind. If you feel that you cannot provide healings or attunements to someone for any reason, including their inability to afford your prices, please refer them to another WDR Master/Teacher or to the WDR website.

Symbols Symbols are used in most all forms of reiki. In White Dove Reiki these symbols are used as “triggers”. Triggers are like a type of shorthand for your mind. The WDR symbols are used to trigger your energies for specific purposes. Reiki works with or without these symbols. Many people find it necessary to use the symbols every time they administer reiki; others use them only as they feel compelled to do so. How you use them is up to you. The table below features each symbol as well as the uses of each symbol.
(Power Symbol) Powers of the universe and reiki. Use this symbol to draw the power of reiki into yourself before you begin a reiki healing or attunement. Draw this symbol on your palms to draw the power into your hands. Draw it onto the palms of a person you are attuning to grant them access to reiki power. Or use it as you feel compelled to.
White Dove Reiki
33
(Emotional Symbol) Purity and emotional release. Use this symbol in healings where emotions are causing problems. This symbol can also be used to give emotional support, emotional healing and love. Draw this symbol in the air or in your mind. Place this symbol into the heart charka of the person you are healing. Or use it as you feel compelled to.
(Distance Symbol) Opens barriers of time and space. Use this symbol during all distance healings & attunements. It allows the energies to escape the boundaries of time and space. Draw this symbol in the air or in your mind for the White Dove to assist in your attunements and healings. This symbol represents the White Dove’s journey to the receiver.
34
Rev. Richard D. Kidd
(Grounding Symbol) Grounding and returning of energy to the Earth. This symbol is used to ground yourself and the receiver. It lets the energies leave the body after the session is completed. Draw this symbol in the air, in your mind, or from the top of the receiver’s head to the floor in order to ground yourself and the receiver. Try to always use this symbol or some other type of grounding.
(Master Symbol) Cleansing the spirit and accessing the soul. Use this symbol to cleanse the spirit of the person receiving an attunement, and to access the soul for deep healings. Draw this symbol in the air or in your mind. It can be drawn over the receiver’s crown chakra to access the spirit or soul. This symbol should be used for all healings and attunements.
