WATER-CLUSTER-DETECTING BREATH SENSOR AND APPLICATIONS IN CARS FOR DETECTING DRUNK OR DROWSY DRIVING
Abstract: Governments have attempted to prevent alcohol-impaired driving primarily through a system of laws, enforcement, and sanctions. However, these laws are frequently violated. Vehicle-based alcohol detection systems prevent a person with a positive blood alcohol concentration from starting or operating a vehicle. New research suggests that drowsy driving is nearly as dangerous as being drunk behind the wheel. Both conditions double the risk that a person will cause a crash when he or she is driving. The study also suggests that young drivers and men are more likely to continue driving, even when they are exhausted. This could be the case because men can be more reckless behind the wheel and young drivers may not properly understand the dangers of impaired driving.
Existing system: In existing system there is no such system to identify the drowsy conditions. If drunk or drowsy is identified after some time manually. So the more number of accidents occurred. If the accidents occur means then only we can identify whether the driver is drunk or drowsy. So it will take more time and manual operations required. To overcome these problems we go for efficient method.
Proposed system: Developing safety measures to prevent drunk and drowsy driving is a major technical challenge for the car industry. We developed a system for this that involves the breath sensor and alcohol. The breath sensor detects breath by measuring whether the driver is normal or drowsy. The breath-alcohol sensor simultaneously detects both breath and alcohol content in the human body.
This is the first result that one device has been used to detect both drunk and drowsy driving. If the sensors detect means the alert will intimate to the driver. And the vehicle will automatically stop.
