Verb o To Be – Present Pres ent Tense Te nse O verbo TO BE é o primeiro tempo verbal que se aprende na língua inglesa, ele é o verbo SER ou ESTAR ESTAR,, é um tempo verbal muito simples, mas também muito importante. Existem três variações do verbo TO BE, BE, são eles, AM, IS e ARE O uso deles depende do sujeito que será utilizado na frase. Forma Afirmativa Na forma afirmativa, a frase é construída por Sujeito + verbo to be + complemento. Veja alguns exemplos na afirmativa: • • •

Forma Interrogativa Na forma interrogativa, o verbo To Be que é o verbo principal da frase, será posto antes do pronome utilizado e sua tradução não sofrerá mudança, pois só será alterada a estrutura da frase e não o seu sentido. Forma Negativa Já na forma negativa, é acrescentado o NOT, pois ele dá o sentido de negação da frase, o NOT sempre vai entrar após o verbo To BE usado. Estrutura = Sujeito + Verto TO BE + NOT + Complemento Exemplos: • • •

Forma Contracta O verbo TO BE tambem pode ser utilizado por sua forma contracta, nós pegamos o pronome e o verbo TO BE e unimos por um apostrofo, tirando a vogal inicial do verbo.
