Medical Astrology Music Therapy - Ascendant Virgo OM GAJAANANAM NAMAMHYAM
The new concept connecting to Medical Astrology basing on 12 Ascendants connecting with Music Therapy is taken up. As Music is divine which is originated from Sama Veda and many exponents like Thyagaraja, Dikshitar and Shyama Sastry have explored Carnatic Classical Music. This music was popular since long time in North and South as Hindustani/ Carnatic Music. In Carnatic Music basing on Swaras we have got 72 Melakarthas/ Ragas were prevailing. In these 72 Melakartha Ragas we can see 12 Divisions multiplied by 6 Swarms total put together 72 Ragas were generated. Wherein 12 Divisions have connection with 12 Zodiac signs and the swarms 6. Now coming to the Sapta swarms of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Dha (Suddha) Ni (Kaisika) plus 5 additional second swaras of Re (Chatusruthi) Ga (Antara) Ma (Prati) Dha (Chatusruthi) Ni (Kakali) are added which comes to total 12 signs. Wherein Sun and Moon have got each one swara and one sign in the zodiac and other 5 planets Budha, Sukra, Kuja, Gujru & Sani have got two Swarms each has created the total swarms which forms part of different Ragas in the Classical Music. Hence as per Vedic texts there is a nexus between the Music and Zodiacal signs as depicted hereunder. Thus we can correlate music to astrology. In Astrology each Ascendant has got certain planets are helping and some are inimical hence by identifying these swarms we can identify which classical Raga would help each Ascendant in getting good health and moods. In this connection a great stalwart in Carnatic Veena Music Sri Ayyagari Syamasunder who retired as Principal of Ghantasal Musical & Dance College Vijayawada has kindly consented to share his knowledge of Carnatic Classical Music for our Medical Astrology write ups.

MUSIC AND ASTROLOGY As we know there are 7 Suddha and 5 vikut swarm total 12 and signs in zodiac are also 12. The sun rules Leo and moon Cancer, only one sign allotted to them, remaining 10 signs distributed to five planets. Gemini and Virgo to Mercury, Taurus and Libra to Venus, Aries and Scorpio to Mars, Sagittarius and Pisces to Jupiter, Capricorn and Aquarius to Saturn, Sa and Pa are always Suddha. Sa Shadajamam is the main swarm from where all swarms can generate so it is the Sun (Leo) base of solar system, then Pa Panchamam is Moon (Cancer), the Sun and Moon are never retrograde and both have only one sign. Sometimes Moon may be invisible so some Ragas are without Panchamam (Panchamam Varjitham). In Medical Astrology Music Therapy basing on Hindustani and Carnatic Classical Music would invoke the immunity system that it is hidden in the body given by nature. Many classical ragas would give good moods and health. This concept was not much tested by many Astrologers. This was in budding stage since 2008 but now it was taken up. In this year let us take the Science forward by linking our ancient Sama Veda Music to Medical Astrology and thereby to get immunity and good health to the humanity. Now I request all the readers of this Ezine should come with their ideas on this concept to develop it into a more validating concept.
In Medical Astrology 6th Cusp of Natal Chart represents Lower abdomen, Navel, Bones, Flesh, Mental Faculties, Anus & Kidneys, Abdominal, Umbilical Regions, Bowls, Intestines & Liver, Nerves System. Intestines, Bowels & Liver. Bowels, Intestines, Secreting Glands, Enzymes. Belly, Lower Part. When we have to deal with a patient with Virgo on the Ascendant, Virgo is a feminine and negative sign, the second of the earthy triplicity, and has less power of resistance that the fixed sign of Leo. Virgo may stand considerable strain, however, being of a nervous and wiry temperament; still when the Virgoan gives up, he finds it very hard to rise and shake off an illness. Being of a negative disposition he is apt to let circumstances rule him, and does not assert his will power to overcome. Virgo is the natural sixth house sign, the house which has rule over sickness; hence when Virgo people once get into the clutches of sickness, they are apt to become chronic invalids. Therefore though such people make excellent nurses, they should be advised against this vocation and avoid sick rooms and hospitals, for they are like sponges and every ready to take on the disease of their patients. Virgo rules the abdominal region, intestines, the lower lobes of the liver, the spleen, the duodenum, and the sympathetic nervous system. The afflictions which may be classed under the sign of Virgo are determined largely by the planets which may be afflicted in this sign. Cramps in the intestines, wind, colic, malnutrition, diarrhoea, constipation, peritonitis, cholera, dysentery, worms, catarrh of the bowels, and appendicitis may result from afflictions in Virgo. AQUARIUS 6TH CUSP: The fixed and airy sign of Aquarius is under the rule of two planets, the melancholy, fearful, and overanxious Saturn, which is ordinarily termed the planet of obstruction, and the impulsive, heedless, emotional, and hysterical Uranus. While Aquarius is a fixed sign which endows the native with a strong will, 13

still when the Aquarian is afflicted by adverse aspects between certain planets, especially Saturn or Uranus when they are strongly placed in the horoscope, he is prone to develop extreme gloom, pessimism, and sensitiveness, or he is rash and responds to the emotional Uranus. These varying moods frequently result in ill health, which too often takes the form of nervousness. Aquarius being a mental and airy sign, its natives are wiry and ambitious, and are prone to overdo. They can never measure their strength until the body is strained to its very limit, therefore when they do give up they are usually in a critical state; but they will give the healer every opportunity to help them, for they are ever ready to cooperate. Physiologically the sign of Aquarius rules the lower limbs and ankles. The diseases with which the Aquarian may be afflicted are varicose veins, swelling of the legs, and nervous diseases of various kinds. One indication that the Aquarian has when the nerves begin to get weak is extreme sensitiveness of the skin. There is a crawling sensation felt all over the body, as if little insects were crawling on the skin. Green is favourable for the native, blue is medium, black are Nodes and red are negative planets; hence the Ragas which consists of the relevant Swaras would create that atmosphere through the cosmic energy to the Native of this Ascendant. Kanya Ascendant: Rishabham R1, R2, are ruled by Mercury lord of 1n10 is good for self, high position, name and fame, job and professional success. Gandharam G1, G2 are ruled by Venus lord of 2n9 is a yogakaraka good for finance, family, speech and higher education, name and fame. Madhyamam M2, M1 are ruled by Mars lord of 3n8 gives short journeys and 8th being negative mental tension, break in higher education and inheritance. Dhaiwatam D1, D2 are ruled by Jupiter lord of 4 n 7 is unfavourable to this Ascendant gives education, fixed assets, stay at home town, good for housewives, not good for health. 7th being Bhadhaka hence Jupiter is not helpful. Nishadham N2, N1 are ruled by Saturn lord of 5n6 good for health, love, children and Saturn is a planet which would help for competition, success, service and gains.

There is a very good exchange of the ascendant of Kumari, Taurus with that of Mallika. Mallika’s ascendant is Scorpio, the 7th from Kumari. In these two birth charts; Kumari’s Saturn was in exchange with Mallika’s Mars and in opposition aspect to Mallika’s Saturn. Sun is in the sign of Pisces in both charts. Venus bhukti in Rahu mahadasha was operating in 1993, 1994 when Dutt went to prison first time. Moon is another badhaka planet in the astrology chart as it rules 9th house. In Rahu / Moon period (Sept 1995 to March1997) Dutt was re-arrested again in December 1995. He was again released and bailed in April 1997. Jupiter Mahadasha started in March 1998 was a good time for money, love, and entertainment career. But Jupiter also has connection with 12th house as Jupiter is in its own Nakshatra in 12th house. As I mentioned before that Venus and Rahu are worst planets in Dutt’s astrology chart. So again Dutt spent time in prison during Jupiter mahadasha and Venus period in 2007. At present Sanjay Dutt is in Jupiter mahadasha Rahu bhukti until end of March 2014. The evil Rahu is again responsible for taking Dutt to prison again as Rahu is transiting 12th house of confinement, in Libra sign in the Dutt’s astrology chart. The 4th house of residence lord Saturn is also transiting 12th house of confinement Libra sign in evil Rahu’s Swati Nakshatra, and Saturn is in conjunction with Rahu as they both are transiting the same 12th house and same sign Libra. My prediction is that Sanjay Dutt will remain in Prison while he is going through Rahu Bhukti in Jupiter Mahadasha until March 2014. There will be threats to his life during this time. But Dutt will not be in prison for next 3 and half years. Dutt will be release from Prison the moment he will enter Saturn Mahadasha in March / April 2014, and at that time Saturn will be transiting Vishaka Nakshatra ruled by Jupiter, and transit Jupiter from Gemini will be aspecting both transit Saturn in Libra and natal Saturn in Sagittarius. 2014 will be a good year for Sanjay Dutt while Saturn is transiting the Vishaka Nakshatra ruled by Jupiter in the last 10 degrees in Libra sign and first 3 degrees and 20 minutes in Scorpio sign. This will be a good period in entertainment career and personal life. After November 2014 Saturn will enter Scorpio and will transiting the Ascendant.
