Database Creation: SiteSee 2.3 is a handy tool to make BTS Sites on MapInfo. The tool doesn’t require any special practice, in fact if you have a good knowledge of MapInfo you can create the database very easily. There are 3 Mandatory things which you need to provide in SiteSee 2.3. 1. Latitude. (Y-Axis). 2. Longitude. (X-Axis). 3. Azimuth Optional things: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7.
Site Name. Cell Name. Beamwidth. Site Radius Height. Tilts Channel etc
Open Excel Sheet and Create simple mandatory and optional fields. (note: You can name Headers with your choice), I have added the Beamwidth column, you can use it if you are using different beamwidth antennas. I have called it as an optional field because you can also fixed the value of Beamwidth in SiteSee 2.3. (Snapshot is attached Lated) and you don’t need to mention this column in Excel. Save it and Open Excel Table in MapInfo. See Snapshots below:
That’s it, you have created the database of SiteSee. Now this tool will generate the Sites for you, very easy again, read next section.
Using SiteSee Please close the Mapper Window, you don’t need to see the table now. Click on tools Run MapBasic Program and select you SiteSee Tool.
Once you have opened it, you will see the SiteSee tool in Table Menu.
Now, lets create the sites, Click on Tools WFI SiteSee Create Site Boundaries
Select your table which you have opened earlier during database creation, In my case it was named SiteSee. Select the Latitude, Longitude, Azimuth from the table. If you have given the beamwidth in your table then you can select it otherwise you can use a fixed value for all the sites, say 65. The Site Radius is the size of the Sites, you can create multiple Tabs by defining different sizes and then using it in layers. It is very useful when you create thematic. Click OK
Save it with the different name than your table.
Open New Mapper and Select SiteSee1
Please note the beamwidth of the 3rd Sectors, it is 90 Degrees because I was using different beamwidth in 3rd Sector. You Can Display your labels if you have given it in your table. See the Final Snapshot with some colors and Labels defined in it.
