2. TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION 2.1
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
This specification covers the technical requirements for the design, construction and testing of Unit Substations that combine incoming Medium Voltage section, 3-phase Power Transformer, and secondary Medium Voltage equipment or Low Voltage equipment. Unit Substations will be installed at Chucapaca project, located at 5000 m.a.s.l. The ambient design temperature is according to the Site Data and Project Requirements 169249-0000-131-SPC-0001. Unit Substations will be suitable for outdoor installation, as specified on the Data Sheet. Futhermore: 23 kV Metal Enclosed load interrupter switchgear with fuses: Metal enclosed load interrupter switchgear with fuses shall be utilized for transformers from 500 KVA to 3750 KVA. 23 kV Metal Enclosed Breaker: Circuit breaker will be SF6 type, fixed mounted, electrically operated, stored energy operation type. Breaker ratings and operating voltages shall be as shown on the Data Sheet. The breaker shall be complete with closing and tripping mechanisms, auxiliary switches, holding coils, relays, mechanical position indicators (closed-open), operation counters and accessories.

UNIT SUBSTATION 23/0.48 kV, 250 kVA for Truck Shop Approximate dimensions of Unit Substation: 6506x6400x5000mm, The specific requirements for each Unit Substation shall be indicated on the individual. Equipped with: Switchgear: 23 kV Metal Enclosed load interrupter switchgear with fuses. MV FUSED SWITCH, 23 kV, 600 A, 25E. The switch is contained in an enclosed metal, free-standing enclosure. The switch handle is operable from the front, and the access door shall be mechanically interlocked so that the door can not be opened unless the switch is in the open position. The switch mechanism is of the stored energy type not dependent upon incremental motion of the operating handles. The switch compartment have a visible isolation viewing window. Switch enclosure is NEMA 4, flange mounted to transformer.

Circuit breaker is three-pole vacuum or SF6, fixed mounted, electrically operated, stored energy operation type. Breaker ratings and operating voltages is as shown on the Data Sheet.
