Ultra Depth ® The most astounding hypnosis discovery of our time About the writer

James Ramey, Medical U ltr a D e pth ® Hypnotherapist/ Educator, has been practicing U ltr a D e pth ® Hypnosis for over twenty-five years and teaching for more than twenty years. Mr. Ramey has helped many people undergo medical procedures – such as organ transplants and dental work – pain free - without the use of dangerous chemical anesthesia. He has worked successfully with U ltr a D e pth ® Hypnosis to help people reverse afflictions from nerve deafness to Grand Mal Epilepsy.

Elements of Hypnosis Hypnosis is not some magical form of mind control, nor is it some panacea for curing all the woes of a person. Hypnosis does not profess to magically provide an individual with uncontrollable strengths that will create miracles. It is neither sleep nor a trance. Hypnosis is a process in which the individual who elects to use it can focus more closely or clearly on whatever it is that he or she desires to change. It is accomplished through experiencing various levels of relaxation. Hypnosis is sometimes accomplished well through the assistance of verbal suggestions. There are as many definitions as there are theories of what hypnosis is and is not. Yet when reviewing these theories and definitions there exist certain commonalities that continuously follow from one definition to the other. The existence of altered states of consciousness. It appears to involve the whole mind, Conscious, Unconscious (the brain) or Subconscious. The appearance of a heightened state of suggestibility. If you combine all of the above elements, we could say, “Hypnosis is a process that produces relaxation, therefore causing a distraction of the Conscious Mind, while providing heightened suggestibility and increasing awareness through the cooperation and participation of the Subconscious Mind.” The basic formula for hypnosis is: Expectation + Imagination + Anticipation = Hypnosis

So, what is Ultra Depth ® Hypnosis? The difference

As far as most people are concerned, all hypnosis is the same. However, U ltr a D e pth ® Hypnosis is different from traditional hypnosis in many ways. The most common difference is that U ltr a D e pth ® Hypnosis is based on depth and not suggestions, for results. One receives greater benefits with U ltr a D e pth ® Hypnosis than with traditional hypnosis. With traditional hypnosis, the practitioner depends solely upon the client achieving the hypnotic state and the use of clever metaphors and suggestions. Most of the time this method is not enough to get to the root cause of a situation and facilitate a change.

Somnambulism

A lighter level of hypnosis that is very useful in achieving various hypno-therapeutic effects is called somnambulism. A person must at least reach somnambulism to receive any benefit from hypnosis whatsoever. When a person is requesting the assistance of a hypnotherapist for changes in behavior or health related issues, he or she must be able to at least reach (achieve) somnambulism or go deeper. Lighter states of hypnosis have proven to only provide a temporary fix and are not recommended for dentistry or surgery of any kind. When you are looking to get to the root cause of a situation in your physical, mental, emotional, spiritual wellness, or you are seeking a permanent change, then U ltr a D e pth ® Hypnosis is what you are looking for.

With Ultra Depth ® Hypnosis the practitioner is not satisfied with just having his client achieve a light hypnotic state. The U ltr a D e pth ® Hypnosis practitioner works with depths of hypnosis beyond what traditional hypnosis deems as deep hypnosis. Traditional hypnosis states that somnambulism is the plenary depth of hypnosis. U ltr a D e pth ® Hypnosis goes beyond somnambulism, into the Esdaile State and Sichort States of hypnosis.

Who discovered this type of hypnosis? Walter A. Sichort

His name was Walter A. Sichort. He developed a depth of hypnosis beyond what was discovered by Dr. James Esdaile and re-offered into the hypnosis community by the famous Dave Elman. Mr. Sichort discovered this depth of hypnosis while working with his assistant, Mary Borgessi. The first time Mary achieved this depth, it took Mr. Sichort more than twenty minutes to get her to exit from this level. He also noticed that Mary displayed rapid-eye-movement and when she exited hypnosis, she had no recall of anything that ever took place. Mr. Sichort eventually called this depth of hypnosis U ltr a D e pth ® . Mr. Sichort eventually taught many others to achieve this level and developed methods for clients to achieve get to this depth with the use of a single word and exit hypnosis with another single word. As Mr. Sichort began to teach his students the method he was using to help people achieve this goal, I went to him for education in hypnosis. I became Mr. Sichort’s apprentice, developing a relationship, which continued for seven years. I was privileged to be by Mr. Sichort’s side during some remarkable experiences in which he was using U ltr a D e pth ® Hypnosis with different clients. I watched as he performed what I labeled as miracles. His main concern was to help a person overcome his or her adversities and regain physical, mental or emotional health. Mr. Sichort taught me to help people suffering from nerve deafness how to regain most, if not, all of their normal hearing. I learned how to help others recover from serious auto accidents and walk once again, after being told by their physicians that they would never do so. He encouraged me to work with victims of Grand Mal Seizure Epilepsy, who for many years were prescribed such dangerous medications as Phenobarbital, Lithium and Dilatum for twenty years to combat their seizures. I found that the techniques Mr. Sichort taught me enabled these people to rid themselves not of the medication they were taking, but also to stop having seizures.

This was only the tip of the iceberg. I was privileged to help a person to undergo a liver transplant without the use of any chemical anesthesia. Not only was the surgery a great success and the person never experienced any pain, but also there was never a sign of rejection. What made this even more remarkable was that I was not present during the surgery to administer hypnotic anesthesia. I kept in touch with Mr. Sichort and he continued to share his discoveries with me. I would take his information and work to refine his discoveries. Before Mr. Sichort passed away, he gave me the exclusive rights to his material, which included the U ltr a D e pth ® and left me with the responsibility of training other hypnotherapists in these techniques. Upon the recommendation of his remaining family, I trademarked U ltr a D e pth ® and copyrighted his material and my refinements. I began teaching U ltr a D e pth ® Hypnosis in 1993 and since then I have placed the training on my web site: www.ultradepth.com.

In what other ways is Ultra Depth ® Hypnosis different than traditional hypnosis? The Mind Model

Another is the Mind Model, which sees the Subconscious Mind as part of the higher consciousness of a person, not less than the Conscious Mind; which is how traditional hypnosis views the Subconscious. With U ltr a D e pth ® Hypnosis: The Subconscious Mind is incredibly more intelligent than the Conscious Mind The Subconscious does not need suggestions from another person to make changes. The Subconscious is where hunches, gut instinct or intuition and what we call “psychic abilities” come from.

Subconscious, “Gate Keeper”

Through U ltr a D e pth ® Hypnosis we have discovered that the Subconscious Mind is the “Gate Keeper” within the “Higher Self”. All behavior and habits, both good and bad, are stored in the brain or Unconscious Mind. They are like programs on the hard drive of a computer.

These habits or behaviors are formed in childhood from learned beliefs, experiences and repeated responses to various stimuli. The Subconscious Mind can alter these programs in the brain. Once a person experiences the process of U ltr a D e pth ® Hypnosis, it makes it possible for those changes to become permanent. We call the brain the Unconscious because it cannot reason; it can only process information much like a computer does. The Sichort State

When a person has reached the desired level of hypnosis, he or she may believe that he or she has fallen asleep. This, of course, is not the case. Instead he or she has reached the most profound level of hypnosis known to-date, the Sichort State. This is where the client’s Conscious Mind is not expending any energy for awareness. Not every person needs to enter the Sichort State to receive results.

Esdaile State

When it comes to surgery, the Esdaile State, which is a lighter level of hypnosis, is many times most favorable. This is where general anesthesia is automatically present without the use of verbal suggestions.

The following is the Ramey Hypnosis Depth Chart. Depth Scales

It contains traditional and U ltr a D e pth ® Hypnosis Depth Scales. Depth Scales are used to determine the level of hypnosis, which a person is able to obtain, by the display of various hypnotic effects. These are very beneficial in hypnotherapeutic intervention. They provide the therapist with information to help determine the level of hypnosis that the client has achieved and the type of hypnotic interventions that may be used.
