The learners advocate how human societies should adapt to such changes. 1. Describe how human societies adapt to new challenges in the physical, social, and cultural environment (UCSP11/12CSCIIi- 34); 2. Identify new challenges faced by human populations in contemporary societies (UCSP11/12CSCIIh- 33) 3. Develop a plan of action for community-based response to change (UCSP11/12CSCIIj- 35). Using the internet, the students will find the appropriate and useful videos, blogs, websites that propose solutions to global social problems. Global Problems Video Blogs Website 1. Hunger 2. Climate change 3. Spread of diseases 4. Refugees 5. War 6. Others: Guide Questions: After selecting and curating videos and other worthy internet materials, as a global citizen answer the following questions; a. What have you realized after doing the activity? b. In your analysis, what social revolution do you think is necessary to change society radically? c. What will you prioritize to solve or how are you going to be part of the solution? d. What is your action plan? What is your vision- mission? Social Revolution- reorganization all of society, a change on how people think and live, a way of passing from a socioeconomic formation that has become historically obsolete to a more progressive one; a radical qualitative change in the entire socioeconomic structure of society.

Framing Our Prior Understanding A. (SD/ANI) Write a personal letter to any government official. The letter can be a letter of thanks, inquiry, grievance or protest. Send it to his/her official email address or Facebook account. B. (MMA/ABM) Make a campaign video or compose a campaign song that contains message to solve a major social problem. Include in your song or video the causes and factors that led to drastic changes in our environment, society or culture. Place also meaningful words that advocate social action and greater social participation of like- minded people. Spread the good virus for social change by posting it on their Facebook account. Assessment: Criteria 3 2 1 a. The group has set goals and fulfilled it as manifested in their outputs b. There is harmonious relationship between the leader and group members. c. Through this activity I have understood the factors that

cause social, political and cultural change d. Through this activity it has moved me to action regarding ways and means of adapting and responding to change. e. The output has manifested creativity, resourcefulness and relevance. f. The performance/output is truly exemplary. Assessments/Evaluation/Rubrics * Life- long Learning Activity A. Study the Infographic below from the Infographic: Social Problems in the Philippines (Sindatoc, 2013) http://mercifiedfaith.blogspot.com/2014/10/societal-problems-in-philippines.html. In what way can you be part of the solution in any of the issues and problems besetting our country? Make a short reflection (learning journal) with 3-5 sentences. The learning journal will be graded based on the following criteria: Content and Main Ideas (4) 1. Information and evidence are accurate, appropriate, and integrated effectively. 2. Claims and ideas are supported and elaborated. 3. Alternative perspectives are carefully considered and represented. 4. Understanding of the social, political, economic, or moral aspects of at least two public issues. Presentation and Organization (4) 1. The purpose and focus are clear and consistent. 2. The main claim is clear, significant, and challenging. 3. Organization is purposeful, effective, and appropriate. 4. Sentence form and word choice are varied and appropriate. Thinking (4) 1. Connections between and among ideas are made. 2. Analysis/synthesis/evaluation/interpretation is effective and consistent. 3. Independent thinking is evident. 4. Creativity/originality is evident.
