A long-term contract between business partners that details their commitment to conduct business with each other in an agreed manner. An agreement can be legally binding. The available agreement types are freight agreement and forwarding agreement. Both agreement types can be mutual between the business partners.
allocated quantity
Actual allocations in the past or in the future, for example, for a shipment order or freight order.
application-to-application
A process by which messages containing information about updates to business documents are

sent between process components in the system. For example, when creating a sales order, the system updates related business documents in the system.
association class
A programming technique that communicates between two or more object entities.

carrier schedule
A list of transportation stops that you can use to define the actual route taken by the carrier and to book capacity.
cash discount terms
The subtraction of a certain amount (typically expressed as a percentage of the total amount) as cash discount when making payment within a specified period.
charge line
A line item of a charge item. There can be more than one charge line for a charge item, depending on the charge type and resolution base of the charge item. A charge item at the header level of a freight order and with ‘Package’ as the resolution base generates a separate charge line for each package.

clipping
Freight calculation where you work through a pricing scale level-by-level. When doing so, the calculation results from each scale level are added up (= clipping) to produce the overall result. Example A load weighing 12 tons is to be transported. The scale levels for the individual freight rates are defined with the following values: •Up to 5 tons: 50 Euro absolute •Up to 7 tons: 14 Euro per ton •Up to 10 tons: 13 Euro per ton •Up to 15 tons: 12 Euro per ton If you do not use clipping, the 12 tons would fall into the "up to 15 tons" scale level and the freight rate would be 12 Euro per ton. The cost to transport the load would then be 12 tons * 12 Euro/ton = 144 Euro. If you use clipping, the system calculates the scale levels as follows: 5 tons for 50 Euro = 50 Euro (first scale level) 2 tons at 14 Euro/ton = 28 Euro (up to second scale level) 3 tons at 13 Euro/ton = 39 Euro (up to third scale level) 2 tons at 12 Euro/ton = 24 Euro (remainder in the fourth scale level) ---------------------------------------------------------------Total: 12 tons = 141 Euro

The business partner with whom a freight agreement is made for the last part of a transport, according to agreed Incoterms. The system bases charge calculations on the agreement made with the collect agreement party. The collect agreement party may also be the collect bill-to party and the collect payer. For example, the Incoterms agreed between a seller and a buyer in a transport from Germany to the U.S. is FOB (Free On Board) from location Hamburg. The seller pays for the transportation charges to Hamburg and the buyer pays for the charges from Hamburg to the U.S. The system uses the collect agreement party to calculate the charges in the invoice for the buyer.
collect bill-to party
The business partner that is billed for the last part of a transport, according to agreed Incoterms. The collect bill-to party is not necessarily the payer. For example, the Incoterm agreed between a seller and a buyer in a transport from Germany to the U.S. is FOB (Free On Board) from location Hamburg. A combination of business documents (for example freight orders). The carrier agrees to take on a completely new business document straight after the completion of a business document.
cost assignment base
An entity that serves as a basis for breaking down costs to the appropriate proportion so that they can be allocated correctly. These entities include weight, volume, or number of items.
data binding
The linking of a data object to an element in the ABAP dictionary or to a global data type (GDT) in the Enterprise Service Repository (ES Repository). A data object can also be bound to a BRFplus data object that already exists.
default route
The sequence of transshipment locations for a given pair of locations that you can use to identify the route for a forwarding order.
deficit weight rating
Calculation of the price for transporting a greater weight than the actual total weight of the goods to be transported with the aim of achieving a lower price. Here the difference between the actual

The transportation consists of at least two loads with different freight rates. The deficit weight is calculated using the lowest freight rate. Nachrichtenablage
Speicher, der zum Verringern der Anzahl an Meldungen dient, die das System in das Anwendungsprotokoll schreibt oder auf der Benutzungsoberfläche (UI) anzeigt. Sobald für diese Ausgabearten das konfigurierbare Maximum überschritten wird, sichert das System alle Meldungen in der Nachrichtenablage. Sie legen fest, dass das System maximal 50 Fehlermeldungen (zu einem Benutzer , der Problemklasse „wichtig“, der Detailebene „1“) im Anwendungsprotokoll anzeigt. Wenn 70 Meldungen die Kriterien erfüllen, schreibt das System 50 Meldungen in das Anwendungsprotokoll und sichert 70 Meldungen in der Nachrichtenablage.
