These vehicles must become part of the inventory. This manual will guide you through the process of stocking in new vehicles. NOTE: If you have any questions about the procedures outlined in this manual ask your supervisor. The policies and procedures outlined in this manual may change at any time. 1.2 Getting Vehicles off the Truck Cars arrive at the Chrysler dealership by semi-truck. The truck typically parks on the street in front of the dealership, or on the North side of the Subaru building. It is the drivers\u2019 responsibility to take the cars off the truck. It is your responsibility to tell the driver where to park the cars. \u2022 If truck is parked in front of Chrysler dealership, tell the driver to park vehicles in front of Chrysler 300\u2019s and P.T Cruisers. \u2022 If truck is parked on the north side of the Subaru building, tell the driver to park the vehicles on the Subaru lot, move vehicles to the Chrysler lot location noted above. 1.3 Inspecting Vehicles for Damage Truck drivers and the factory make every effort to ensure that vehicles arrive with no damage; however, accidents happen, and all new vehicles should be thoroughly inspected for damage and missing items. 1. The driver will hand you the shipping invoice.

2. Begin by walking around the car and inspecting the car for damage including; scratches, gauges, dents, or anything else out of the ordinary. 3. On the shipping invoice there are three spaces provided for damage codes. ----The first space is for the area of damage------- The second space is for the type of damage------- The third space is for the severity of the damage ---4. Refer to the back of the shipping invoice for the damage codes. 5. Write down the correct codes in the corresponding spaces. 6. Write a short description of the damage. NOTE: If any plastic bumper or body part is scratched or gauged it is automatically a level 6 damage code. 1.4 Inspecting Vehicles for Missing Items All cars should have two keys, an owner\u2019s manual and a monroni. -Typically the keys are left in the ignition, ashtray, or cupholders. -Typically owner\u2019s manuals are left in glove boxes, door pockets, or the trunk. There is always a list of loose items in all cars, make sure the cars have everything on the list. ----Loose items may include; antennas, headphones, navigation DVDs, floor mats, flashlights and hubcaps. ----If an item is missing follow the procedure used in section 1.3 1. Use number 08 on the \u201cdamage type\u201d code. 2. Use number 06 on the \u201cseverity\u201d code. 1.5 Assigning Stock Numbers All vehicles at Dick Hannah have a stock number. This number makes it easy for the dealership to keep track of vehicles.

1. Bring the shipping invoice inside and find a computer. (Your supervisor will let you know what computer to use) 2. Double click on the green globe icon labeled Eralink. 3. Type in the username and password given to you by your supervisor. 4. Type in the proper number that selects the new car menu. 5. Type in the number that allows you to search for vehicle by VIN number. 6. Type the last six of the VIN number from the first vehicle on the sheet into the entry field. ---- A new screen will appear with a stock number such as J5235 ---7. Write this number as well as the make, model and color of the vehicle on the shipping invoice. 8. Press enter to return to the VIN entry screen and repeat steps 6 and 7 for the rest of the vehicles.

1.6 Tags

Stock Tags

All vehicles need a stock tag in the lower corner of the windshield.

1. Get enough blue stock tags for all the cars on the shipping invoice. (stock tags are located in a box at the lot attendant counter) 2. Fill out the stock tag with the proper information from the shipping invoice.

Key Tags

3. Get enough key tags for all the cars on the shipping invoice. (Located in the same box the stock tags are in) ----Blue tags are for Jeeps, white tags are for Chryslers---4. Fill out the key tags with the proper information from the shipping invoice.

Vehicle Files

5. Take enough file folders for all the cars on the shipping invoice. (located in the same place as the stock tags) a. Write the stock number and the last six digits of the VIN on the outside of the folder and place the stock tags and key tags for the corresponding vehicles in the folder. 1.7 Inside the Vehicle 1. Match the folders to the car by VIN number. 2. Place the corresponding stock tag on the bottom driver\u2019s side of the windshield. 3. Remove keys and owner\u2019s manual from vehicle. 4. Place both keys and the owner\u2019s documentation in the file folder. 5. Repeat these steps for all cars.

1.8 Final Steps 1. Go inside with all the folders and head to the Key Track. Take one key from each file folder and enter it into the Key Track system. See your supervisor if you do not have experience operating the Key Track system.

2. Place the file folders in the drawers located in the sales tower. The files should be organized numerically. 3. Call extension 3330 from a phone inside the dealership and order the ADM (Additional Dealer Markup) stickers. a. Pickup the ADM stickers from the corporate office. (upstairs at Honda) b. Place the ADM stickers in the proper vehicles windows next to the Monroni. 4. Make two copies of the shipping invoice a. Give one copy to the service manager. b. Give one copy to the new car manager. c. Give one copy to your supervisor. 5. The service department will now perform the required mechanical inspection. 1.9 Glossary -ADM: Additional Dealer Markup sticker, these stickers need to be in every vehicle on the lot at all times. The corporate office prints these two at a time, put one in the car and one in the packet. Call ext.3330 to order one. -Monroni: The factory MSRP sticker that is supposed to be sent with every car. -PDI: (Pre Delivery Inspection) Every new car must go through a service inspection after the stock in process.
