This will be beginning in November when the students begin their classical music units

Using classical music to implement beat and pulse can be extremely helpful for students, especially if they are walking around the room keeping beat or pulse to a piece like a march



Create improvisation with movement to classical music

This will be beginning in November when the students begin their classical music units

Use classical music to help students to learn about improvisation using movement



Have classical music to teach dynamics

This will be beginning in November when the students begin their classical music units

Use classical music while teaching the younger students about dynamics and to show contrasting dynamics in a piece of music (surprise symphony etc.)



Use Fun With Composers to teach students some of the classical pieces

This will be beginning in November when the students begin their classical music units

Use program “Fun with composers” to teach students about classical music and their composers through a fun, interesting, story like manner.

Teach students about classical music composers through the pieces

This will be beginning in November when the students begin their classical music units

Be sure that when students are introduced to a classical piece of music they also get to hear a little bit about the composer so they understand who it was written by



Indicators and Measures of Goal Achievement: Students will begin to understand various different types of classical music and will understand various composers. Students will be able to name a few classical music pieces by name as well as a grasp on the concepts being taught through the music. KSA #’s: 1,3,6,8,13
