Hjama and Ruqyah Therapy Introduction to Hijama Does Hijama and Ruqyah really work? Isn't it just the Placebo effect? Some people who come across the remedies mentioned in the Qur'an and Sunnah for the first time, may think it is just the placebo effect. In other words it only works because people believe it will work. To investigate this we need to understand what exactly the Palcebo effect is?
The Placebo effect
The most well known placebo experiment was where patients were unknowingly given an empty pill and told that it will improve their condition. As such, some patients believed the treatment was real and this belief produced a perception of getting better. This phenomenon is known as the placebo effect. The key thing to note is that the medication given was inert, in other words empty or having no effect. And secondly it was the patients belief that they were being treated, that made them feel better. The remedies mentioned in the Sunnah are not placebos as they have a very real effect. Removing blood for example is obviously not an inert action. If a Hijama therapist were to remove too much blood, a person would faint whether they choose to believe it or not. Similarly, foods mentioned in the Sunnah such as honey are known to have antibacterial properties and high natural sugar content. So when they are consumed, will increase a person blood sugar levels, whether they choose to believe it or not. Medically speaking, a persons belief regarding the remedies mentioned in the Sunnah does not matter as they will have an effect even if the person denies it. Diet and illness When discussing health, food and herbal remedies, it is important to remember that the most likely cause of many illnesses is usually imbalance in the diet. Most people's illnesses are related to their diet, be it a stomach upset for a few days or longer issues relating to weight etc such as blocked arteries. We find sincere muslims following the Sunnah in many ways however most muslims seem to have forgotten the Sunnah of eating small amounts and only filling the stomach two thirds. Allah the Most High said, "And eat and drink and be not excessive (therein)" (al-A'raaf 7:31) Ibn Katheer commented upon this verse: One of the Salaf said: Allah has combined the entirety of medicine (at-tibb) in half a verse, "And eat and drink and be not excessive (therein) ". Al-Qurtubi commented upon this verse, after mentioning that excessive eating is makrooh (disliked), he mentions the benefits of eating little: "In eating little there are many benefits. From them that a man becomes of sounder body, of better memory, purer in understanding, (requiring) less sleep, and lighter in (his) soul" Then Al-Qurtubi mentions the harms of eating excessively: And in eating much there is the overstuffing of the stomach and putrefaction of undigested food, and from this the variety of diseases are produced, and thus he requires treatment more than what the one who eats little requires. Some of the physicians said, "The greatest treatment (dawaa') is (appropriate) estimation of (one's) food (intake)." And the Prophet (saw) has explained this meaning sufficiently and completely which does away with the speech of the physicians, so he said, "The son of Adam does not fill a container worse than his stomach. It is sufficient for the son of Adam to take enough morsels of food to keep his back straight (keep him able-bodied). And if it is necessary, then a third for his food, a third for his drink, and a third for his breath." Al-Qurtubi also states: And it is mentioned that (the caliph) ar-Rasheed used to have a shrewd Christian physician who said to Alee bin Hasan, "There is not in your Book (the Qur'an) anything of the knowledge of medicine and knowledge of is of two types, knowledge of the religions and knowledge of the bodies." So he said to him, "Allah has combined all of medicine in half a verse in our Book." So he said, "What is it?" He said, "The saying of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic: And eat and drink and be not excessive." Imaam ad-Dhahabi in his book "at-Tibb an-Nabawi" (p. 34-35) says: The Prophet (saw) said: "The son of Adam does not fill a container worse than his stomach. It is sufficient for the son of Adam to take enough morsels of food to keep his back straight (keep him able-bodied). And if it is

(An-Nasaa'ee and atTirmidhee) Alee bin Hasan said: "And Allah, the Sublime and Exalted has combined the whole of medicine in (just) half a verse, so He, the Most High said, "And eat and drink and be not excessive " We hope it is understood that part of seeking a cure requires a person not to just take medicine but also stop taking the foods which make a persons condition worse. Many people complain of a lack of energy and when asked when this is the most prominent - they state directly after having eaten food, usually too much. Some people state 'no I feel lethargic even in the morning', unfortunately as sad as it is, they have usually consumed so much processed food and calories late at night that their body is still trying to clear it in the morning and amazingly some people lie in bed until they feel hungry again and only get up to eat again!
Mental Health Many cases of mental illness are not of possession but of mental health issues. However we find if we advise people that they are having issues in their life because they are far from the religion, some people can get upset. This is because they consider religion as something 'separate' from life. However this phenomena of people having mental health issues due to a lack of faith is observed by a famous psychologists. Carl Gustav Jung (1875-1961) who was a Swiss psychiatrist, an influential thinker and the founder of Analytical Psychology, states: "I have frequently seen people become neurotic when they content themselves with inadequate or wrong answers to the questions of life ." (Jung, [1961] 1989:140) "The majority of my patients consisted not of believers but of those who had lost their faith." (Jung, [1961] 1989:140)
Reading a book of medicine and hoping to be cured Muslim are the only fortunate people in the world today who have with them the Word of God completely preserved, free from interpolation and precisely in the same wording in which it was revealed to the Holy Prophet (saw). And these very Muslims are those unfortunate people in the world who have the Word of God with them and are yet deprived of its blessings and its countless gains. The Qur'an was sent to them that they would read it, understand it and act upon it and with its help, would establish on God's earth a state which will function according to the law of God.

The Holy Prophet(SAW) said :-"For every disease there is a cure so if the medicine comes upon the disease it cures it by the will of Allah, the Most High." [Saheeh Muslim - 2204] (http://ceragemtherapy.wozaonline.co.za/products) Dear reader if anyone being ill takes up the study of a book on Medicine thinking that by reading it he will get rid of his disease, when you know the purpose is to use the medicine as directed by it, what will you say about such a person? Will you not say that he is slightly off his head? However this is how Muslims are treating the Qur'an they read it and think that just by scanning it all the diseases will disappear, and that it is not necessary to follow the directions given in it, nor is it essential to abstain from things which it pronounces as injurious. What do you say about that man who considers mere reading of a book on medicine as enough for curing a disease?
Treatment with the Qur'an Nowadays the Muslims do not seek guidance from the Qur'an in the affairs of their life. They do not consult it to know what should be our beliefs, what should be our deeds, how should we conduct transactions, what are the rights on us of our fellow-beings and of our own selves, what is truth for us and what is falsehood, whom should we obey and whom to disobey, wherein are honour, well-being and benefit for us and wherein lies disgrace, failure and loss? Muslims have given up ascertaining all these verities from the Qur'an. Now they ask these things from unbelievers, polytheists, misguided and selfish people and from the evil force in their own souls, and follow what these elements advise. Therefore what invariably happens on ignoring God and following the precepts of others, happened to them too, and we are reaping it today. As for the Qur'an, it is the fountainhead of supreme good. It will impart whatever and as much beneficence you seek from it. And if you wish to reach the pinnacle of spiritual glory, the Qur'an will take you there also. This is just a question of your own capability that you ask for two drops from the ocean, otherwise the ocean is ready to give you a gift as big as the ocean. If you ponder over these facts, your heart will testify that the greatest possible injustice in this world is being done to this book of Allah and the oppressors are the very people who assert that they have faith in it and are ready to sacrifice their life for it. No doubt they have faith in it and regard it dearer than life, but the pity is that it is they who do the greatest injustice to it. And the result of perpetrating injustice on Allah's Book is obvious. Please understand the fact thoroughly that Allah's Word is not sent to man to embroil him into ill fortune, misery and suffering. "We have not revealed this Qur'an that you should fall into distress." (Al-Qur'an 20:1-2) The Qur'an is a fountainhead of auspiciousness and good fortune, not a source of viciousness and wretchedness. It is absolutely impossible that a nation be possessor of God's Word and yet wallow in misery in this world, suffer under the yoke of others, be trampled and kicked, have its neck caught in the knot of slavery of others who lead it by the nose like animals in whichever direction they like. A nation meets this doom only when it commits injustice to the Word of God. The doom of Bani Israel is before you. Taurat and Injeel were sent to them and it was said: " If they had observed the Torah and the Gospel and that which was revealed unto them from their Lord, they would surely have been nourished from beneath their feet." (Al-Qur'an 5:66) Dear Muslims I mention the above as a reminder to myself first and foremost and anyone seeking a cure from the Qur'an and Sunnah should be wary of just picking and choosing from amongst the verses of Allah for our own personal benefit in the most precious gift of Health and ignoring all the other verses as if they don't exist or apply. I hope you do get the shifaa and cure from the Quran that you are seeking, but we should also make Prepared by: Saleem Butt House No. 341, Block F, new Katarian Market Satellite Town Rawalpindi, Punjab, Pakistan. What is Hijama / Cupping Therapy? Cupping is a method of relieving local congestion by applying a partial vacuum that is created in a cup(s), either by heat or by suction. Cupping has been used for thousands of years. Although it is often associated with Traditional Chinese Medicine, the entire world once knew this of therapy and used it. The Ancient Egyptians, Greeks and Chinese used cupping therapy. The oldest recorded medical textbook, Ebers Papyrus, written in approximately 1550 BCE in Egypt, mentions cupping (Curtis, 2005). In the UK, the practice of cupping therapy also dates back a long time in one of their leading medical journals, The Lancet. It was named after this practice as it refers to the surgical instrument that can scrape the skin to perform a style of cupping.
Cupping / Hijama is the best remedy recommended and used by the Messenger (saw). The Messenger (saw) said, "Indeed the best of remedies you have is cupping / Hijama " [Saheeh al-Bukharee (5371)]. He r also said that on the night of Israa (his ascension to the heavens) he r did not pass by an angel except that it said to him, "Oh Muhammad, order your Ummah (nation) with cupping / Hijama." [Saheeh Sunan Tirmidhee (3479)]. 'Hijama' in arabic is derived from 'hajm' which means 'sucking'. Cupping / Hijama is the process of applying cups to various points on the body by removing the air inside the cups to form a vacuum. [Saheeh Muslim - 2204] (http://ceragemtherapy.wozaonline.co.za/products) the Sunnah the cupping that is referred to is 'Bleeding cupping'. It is the most frequently used, oldest, and often the most effective method. A surgical instrument is used to scrape the skin and the cup is then applied to collect blood.
Cupping / Hijama is of many types: Cupping in itself can be done in various forms such as:
Bleeding cupping - Sunnah Cupping Bleeding cuping or wet cupping as it is referred to sometimes, is the Sunnah method and is the oldest, most frequently used and often the most effective method of cupping. A surgical instrument is used to pierce the skin and the cup is then applied to collect blood. Most Muslim cupping therapist are trained for the Sunnah cupping points on the body. This is the area on the back, in between the shoulder blades, slightly towards the neck. There are other cupping points too, however for someone who just wants cupping done to follow the Sunnah, that is mainly the area that the therapist will apply the cups.
Moving Cupping or Massage Cupping This is a great method of massage and is done by applying oil to the skin and moving the cup, by a weak suction, on the area to be treated.
Herbal Cupping A suitable herbal tincture is put into the cup and then suction is applied.
Hot Cupping Dried mugwort (Artemisia vulgaris) leaves, sometimes called by its Oriental name, Moxa, is a great warming herb. A needle is used, warmed by dried mugwort and then the cup is applied over the needle.
Water Cupping This is the least practiced method. It involves filling a third of the cup with warm water. Whilst holding the cup close to the client with one hand, it is brought to the point to be cupped and then burning cotton wool is inserted into the cup, then swiftly and simultaneously the cup is turned onto the skin. When performed properly, no water spillage occurs. Is cupping / Hijama a cure for every disease? Cupping is a cure for every disease if performed in the correct places and correct amount. The Messenger (saw) said, "Indeed in cupping / Hijama there is a cure." [Saheeh Muslim (5706)]. "Whoever performs cupping / Hijama on the 17th, 19th or 21st day (of the Islamic, lunar month) then it is a cure for every disease." [Saheeh Sunan abu Dawud (3861)].
Does Hijama help in cases of Sihr Magic? Magic: Ibn Al-Qayyim (may Allah have mercy on him) mentions that the Messenger (saw) was afflicted with magic and was cupped on the head to treat it. He also mentions that Hijama is from the best of cures for magic if performed correctly (Zaad al Ma'aad). In cases of Magic Sihr and possession many patients go from A to B searching for a cure and invariably they come across the sunnah of Hijama. Some Raaqi's offer Hijama but do not really know the science of how one affects the other. Likewise many Hijama therapist offer Hijama as a cure for Sihr Magic but have no clue regarding the correct Sihr and the Hijama required to treat it. In the end many patients feel let down by both sides leaving them feeling disillusioned. Hijama Clinic is unique in that it is one of the very few places in the UK that actually knows how to apply both the knowledge of Ruqyah and Hijama.
Is Hijama painful? Hijama is not painful, however to give you and idea it is probably similar to having a blood test. Hijama is not as intrusive as a blood test though as it does not penetrate the veins. *Disclaimer: Please note Hijama Clinic takes no responsibility for information contained on external links from this website. Clinical associate, Primary Health Care Department Hamad Medical Corporation. Dr. Abbas F. Ahmed Asst Chairman Anesthesia ICU. Pain clinic. Anesthesia ICU Depart H M C . Dr. Samar Al Emadi Consultant Rheumatology Department HMC. and Dr Mohammed Hammoudeh Consultant Medicine & Rheumatology. Medicine & Rheumatology Department H M C Objective : To test the effect of cupping therapy in treating chronic headache and chronic back pain. Background: Cupping therapy "Al heijamah" is a very common non-conventional therapy in the Arabic societies that has been used in the treatment of a wide range of conditions, such as hypertension, rheumatic conditions, ranging from arthritis, sciatica and back pain, migraine, anxiety, and general physical and mental well-being. Methods: This study was a clinical intervention (pre and post design) utilizing non- conventional therapy (AL Heijamah) for treatment of patients with chronic back pain or chronic headache, with three months follow up at the Out patients Department (OPD) of Hamad General Hospital (HGH) Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), State of Qatar, from May 2007 to December 2007, to show the efficacy of that procedure on chronic pain using Visual Analog pain scale, pre and post intervention. Results: The total number of the participants was eighty six, slightly more than half of them were male (51.2%). The majority were non Qatari (72.1%); thirty seven of them had headache and forty nine of them had back pain. Most of the participants were treated with wet cup therapy (98.8%) and only one of them was treated with dry cup. Fifty two of the participants had only one session of cupping while only five of them completed the four sessions. The pain score for patients with headache was decreased from eight to four after cupping therapy followed by intermittent periods of fluctuation of pain, scored from four to five for around five weeks, then it maintained constant at four score till the end of the follow up period. Meanwhile the pain scale for patients with low back pain decreased from seven to three after two weeks and stayed constant till the end of the twelve weeks. Conclusion: The effect of cupping therapy (Al heijamah) for chronic headache and back pain has been studied and the results revealed significant improvements in participants as a result of cupping therapy. Further studies with larger samples, for longer duration of follow up and use of a comparison group are recommended.

An investigation into the effect of Cupping Therapy as a treatment for Anterior Knee Pain and its potential role in Health Promotion. Objective : To investigate the effect of Cupping Therapy at a patho-physiological level for anterior knee pain. Method: Experimental survey utilising a clinical trial and a questionnaire. Results: There was a statistically significant difference between the level of pain, well being and Range of Motion for patients with anterior knee pain pre and post Cupping. (P 0.05). Although there were no statistically significant variations in total cholesterol and HDL cholesterol (p > 0.05), a 7% decrease in total cholesterol and 3% increase in HDL cholesterol may be clinically important. Conclusions: Wet cupping may be an effective method of reducing LDL cholesterol in men and consequently may have a preventive effect against atherosclerosis.
Hijaamah (Wet Cupping) In the Treatment of Tension and Migraine HeadachesAhmadi A, Schwebel DC, Rezaei M. The efficacy of wet-cupping in the treatment of tension and migraine headache. Am J Chin Med. 2008;36(1):37-44. Wet-cupping is an ancient medical technique still used in several contemporary societies, but little empirical study has been devoted to test its efficacy to treat tension and migraine headache. Using a pre-post research design, 70 patients with chronic tension or migraine headache were treated with wet-cupping. Three primary outcome measures were considered at the baseline and 3 months following treatment: headache severity, days of headache per month, and use of medication. Results suggest that, compared to the baseline, mean headache severity decreased by 66% following wet-cupping treatment. Treated patients also experienced the equivalent of 12.6 fewer days of headache per month. We conclude that wet-cupping leads to clinical relevant benefits for primary care patients with headache. Possible mechanisms of wet-cupping's efficacy, as well as directions for future research are discussed.
Brachialgia paraesthetica nocturna can be relieved by "wet cupping" - Results of a randomised pilot study. [My paper] Rainer Lüdtke, Uwe Albrecht, Rainer Stange, Bernhard Uehleke Karl und Veronica CarstensStiftung, Am Deimelsberg 36, 45276 Essen, Germany. BACKGROUND: Centuries ago cupping was one of the most used medical therapies worldwide but it is now regarded as an antiquated and unsafe treatment. Nevertheless it is widely used especially in Germany and China. OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effectiveness of "wet cupping" of a defined connective tissue area (over the Musculus trapezius) in patients suffering from brachialgia paresthetica nocturna. DESIGN: Monocenter, randomised, controlled, sequential clinical trial. SETTING: Section of pain management at the District Hospital of Rüdersdorf, Germany. PATIENTS: Brachialgia-patients of both sexes without age restictions were eligible if they suffered from chronical tonsillar irritations and showed pathologic indurations of the connective tissue area. INTERVENTIONS: The active group was "wet cupped" once, i.e. the skin first was scarified and then blood Prepared by: Saleem Butt House No. 341, Block F, new Katarian Market Satellite Town Rawalpindi, Punjab, Pakistan. Treatment effects can be found in the active (-2.3+/-1.9 score points) but not in the control group (+ .5+/-1. points; p= .002; triangle test). The results are supported by secondary outcome criteria. Adverse events were not documented in any patient. CONCLUSIONS: This study suggests short-term effects of a single wet cupping therapy, which remain at least for 1 week. As the trial lacks of an adequate and blinded placebo therapy the findings are potentially biased. Complement Ther Med. 2006 Dec ;14 (4):247-253 1710569
Effects of drug cupping therapy on immune function in chronic asthmatic bronchitis patients during protracted period. [My paper] Cai-qing Zhang, Tie-jun Liang, Wei Zhang Shandong Provincial Hospital of Shandong University, Jinan. To observe the clinical effect of drug cupping therapy (DCT, cupping therapy with pingchuan ointment made by the authors themselves in the cups) on chronic asthmatic bronchitis (CAB) during the protracted period, and explore its effect on immune function. METHODS: Seventy-seven patients were randomly divided into two groups:the treated group (n=40) treated by orally taken Liuwei Dihuang Pill (LDP) and DCT and the control group (n=37) with LDP and common cupping therapy without drug in cups. The changes of T-lymphocyte subset, levels of interferon-gamma (IFNgamma), interleukin (IL), immunoglobulin (Ig), complement 3 and 4 (C3 and C4) were detected before and after treatment. RESULTS: The total effective rate was higher in the treated group than that in the control group (90. % vs. 59.5%, P < .01). The levels of CD4+, CD4+/CD8+, IL-2, IFN-gamma, C3, C4, IgA, IgG and IgM increased, while the levels of IgE, IL-4, IL-10 and CD8+ decreased after treatment in both groups (P < .05 or P < .01), the improvements were better in the treated group than that in the control group (P < .05). CONCLUSION: DCT shows better curative effects than that of common cupping therapy without drug, it could improve the cellular and humoral immunity in CAB patients. Herbal Remedies from the Sunnah In this section we have only highlighted certain foods and herbs in general terms to make a person aware of the evidences from the Quran and Sunnah pertaining to them. For the exact medicinal nature of each food or herb we suggest further research is done some of which can be found easily online. We would also like to remind our readers that in Medicine Dosage and Method are two very important aspects when it comes to searching for a cure and should kept in mind. Dosage refers to the amount of medicine a person needs to consume for example a teaspoon or 2 tablespoons and the number of times it will be consumed. Method this refers to how the medicine should be consumed for example first thing in the morning on an empty stomach or with water or after food etc
Dates Ajwa is a soft dry variety of date fruit from Saudi Arabia. It is cultivated at Madina Monawara. A delightfully soft and fruity date with fine texture. Click for more information... It is established from the below sayings that dates in general are a blessed food and are recommended in a person's diet, certain types of dates can be used for specific remedies. Dates were the food that Allah provided for Mary after she gave birth to Prophet Jesus under the palm tree. Allah inspired Jesus, her blessed infant, and his future messenger to the children of Israel, in one of the early miracles of his birth to say to her: "Shake the trunk of the palm-tree, and it will drop ripe dates on you, so eat, drink, and comfort your eyes (with what Allah gave you)" (Qur'an 19:25).

[Saheeh al-Bukharee (5445) (5768) (5769) (5779)]. Dates In One's Home The Messenger (saw) said, "O Aisha! A house that has no dates in it their family is hungry. Oh Aisha! A house that has no dates in it their family is hungry." [Saheeh Muslim (153), (2046)]. Abdullaah bin Ja'afar reported that he saw Prophet Muhammad ( peace be upon him) eating fresh ripe dates with cucumber (Bukharee and Muslim). Ajwa is a soft dry variety of date fruit from Saudi Arabia. It is cultivated at Madina Monawara. A delightfully soft and fruity date with fine texture. There are also "imitations" or some sold an inferior quality dates and "conned" the customers as "AJWA dates" To know whether its AJWA, look closely at the dates. There are very fine white lines on the dates. Dates for a new born child The Messenger of Allah (saw) chewed a date and put some of its juice in a new-born baby's mouth. Narrated by Asma: That she conceived 'Abdullah bin Az-Zubair. She added, "I migrated to Medina while I was at full term of pregnancy and alighted at Quba where I gave birth to him. Then I brought him to the Prophet (saw) and put him in his lap. The Prophet (saw) asked for a date, chewed it, and put some of its juice in the child's mouth. So, the first thing that entered the child's stomach was the saliva of the Messenger of Allah (saw). Then the Prophet (saw) rubbed the child's palate with a date and invoked for Allah's Blessings on him, and he was the first child born amongst the Emigrants in the Islamic Land (i.e. Medina). [Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 5.248] We are glad that after 1500 years, scientists have finally discovered the Sunnah! A dose of sugar given as a gel rubbed into the inside of the cheek is a cheap and effective way to protect premature babies against brain damage, say experts. The Holy Prophet(SAW) said :-"For every disease there is a cure so if the medicine comes upon the disease it cures it by the will of Allah, the Most High." [Saheeh Muslim - 2204] (http://ceragemtherapy.wozaonline.co.za/products)
Honey is the natural nectar and concentrated sweetness of flowers converted by bees to a golden rich syrup. The sour of nectar the honey is made from determines its color and flavor, and the best is the light-colored variety of honey.
Honey "And thy Lord taught the bee to build its cells in hills, on trees and in (men's) habitations.... there emerges from their bellies a drink, varying in colours, in which there is a healing for people. Verily in this is a Sign for those who give thought. " [Surah an-Nahl: 68-69] The Messenger (saw) said, "There is cure in three things, a drink of honey, a slash with a knife used for cupping and cauterizing by fire. I forbid my Nation from cauterizing by fire." [Saheeh al-Bukharee (5356)]. Abu Sa'eed al-Khudri (ra) narrated, "A man came to the Messenger (saw) and said, 'my brother has pain in his stomach', so the Messenger (saw) said, 'give him honey to drink.' The man came back and said, 'O Messenger of Allah (saw), it only increased his illness!' So the Messenger (saw) said, 'Give him honey to drink.' The man came back and said, 'O Messenger of Allah (saw), it only increased his illness!' The Messenger of Allah (saw) said 'Allah spoke the truth and your brother's belly has lied. Go and give him honey to drink.' He went and gave him honey and was cured." [Saheeh al-Bukharee, Book of medicine (5684), Saheeh Muslim (2217)] Ibn Qaiyum commented that the reason why the man wasn't cured straight after taking the honey was due to much harmful properties in the man's stomach that needed more honey for it to be removed. [Zaad al-Ma'aad 4/35]. As for Honey... there comes forth from their bellies (bees) a drink of varying color wherein is a healing for men..."{An-Nahl 16-69}
How honey is made There are several types of bees - bumblebees, honey bees, yellow jackets, carpenter bees, wasps, hornet, and more but in general, honey is produced by the honey bees (thus the name!). When a honey bee visits a flower (usually located around 1 or 2 kilometers away from its hive), it obtains two things from the flower: nectar and pollen. Bees make honey from the nectar they get from the flower. Nectar is a sweet, sugary liquid secreted by flowers and it is the basic raw element that is actually used to make honey. The Holy Prophet(SAW) said :-"For every disease there is a cure so if the medicine comes upon the disease it cures it by the will of Allah, the Most High." [Saheeh Muslim - 2204] (http://ceragemtherapy.wozaonline.co.za/products) This nectar in fact determines the components and taste of the honey. To answer the question 'How do bees make honey', this process starts when the worker bee sucks nectar from flowers using her tongue (also called proboscis) and stores it in her special pouch in her body known as the honey stomach. When the stomach is full - usually after visiting between 50 to 150 flowers - the worker bee will return to the hive. The process of converting the nectar into honey though, can start even before she reaches the honey bee hive. How? On the way back, the bee adds a type of enzyme from her body to the nectar that she collected. What this enzyme does is breaking down the complex plant sugar in the nectar into glucose and fructose which are simpler and can be digested more easily by the bees. This nectar is carried back to the hive, ready to be unloaded by the other worker bees (By the way,a hive contains around 40,000 bees on average). Now they are all set to proceed with the next step in honey-making: nectar transfer. The nectar is transferred to the other worker bees through their mouths. Once the nectar is delivered, the worker bees will store it in the honeycomb cells. At this point, most of the moisture will be evaporated, which leaves approximately 18 to 20% of water in the honey and turning it into a thicker syrup. To help make the nectar dry even faster, the bees will fan it with their wings.
When we talk about honey bee hives, we are usually referring to the artificial or man-made honey bee hives that are solely intended for honey production. Natural honey bee hives are referred to as "nests"). In a hive, other enzymes are added to avoid fermentation and bacteria attack. Once this is done, the worker bees will seal the top of each cell with a thin beeswax cap. This is where the honey is stored until it is eaten. After that, they will move to the next empty comb, starting the process of making honey all over again.
Manuka Honey Prepared by: Saleem Butt House No. 341, Block F, new Katarian Market Satellite Town Rawalpindi, Punjab, Pakistan. Email :

The Holy Prophet(SAW) said :-"For every disease there is a cure so if the medicine comes upon the disease it cures it by the will of Allah, the Most High." [Saheeh Muslim - 2204] (http://ceragemtherapy.wozaonline.co.za/products) Manuka Honey benefits are established and have been recognized by many people. Even medical professionals around the world highly appreciate the amazing healing benefits of Manuka Honey. Manuka honey, or its scientific name Leotospermum Scoparium, comes from the Manuka tree that grows in the remote rain forest of New Zealand. It is a type of raw honey that has been used for centuries by the Maori people in New Zealand to cure fever and cold, heal wounds, treat infection and to get rid of tummy pain. This type of honey is well known for its high antibiotic properties and mineral content. There are two types of Manuka Honey: the usual Manuka honey, and the Active Manuka Honey. The Active Manuka Honey is seasonal and has higher antibacterial activity compared to the usual one. The benefits of Manuka Honey is largely due to the Unique Manuka Factor (UMF), a stable antibacterial property contained in it. The UMF grade can be +5, +10, +15, +20 and +25. The higher the grade, the better the quality. Manuka Honey is effective to treat many diseases caused by bacteria or fungal infection. It is being used to fight a type of bacteria that is resistant to antibiotics, MRSA that infects surgical wounds. Manuka Honey benefits have also been proven through clinical trials. For example, a clinical trial on using honey as a wound dressing have been conducted to compare the effects with a standard treatment. In these trials, Manuka Honey has shown positive results. In fact, the advantages of Manuka Honey are obvious even when compared with other varieties of honey. One example is in the case of dysepsia and stomach ulcers, diseases that are caused by the infection of a species of bacteria known as helicobacter pylori in the stomach. It was found that when honey with hydrogen peroxide activity is used to treat this infection, it did not prevent the growth of this bacteria even when the concentration is added up to 50%. However, Manuka honey stopped the bacteria growth completely at a concentration level as low as 5%. Sources of Manuka Honey are very limited because the pollenization period of the flowers of Manuka tree is very short, and besides that, production of honey also depends on the weather. Besides its amazing health benefits, Manuka Honey is distinguished for its very unique aroma and taste. It has a very thick, creamy texture, and some describe the taste as similar to a mixture of sugar and barley. The color ranges from dark cream to dark brown This type of honey is very high in demand for its amazing healing power.
Antibacterial Effect Honey has a powerful antibacterial effect due to several components: 1) Osmotic effect A high level of water and sugar contained in honey (especially fructose) causes it to have a high osmotic effect. This effect will prevent the micro organisms in the body to spread. Prepared by: Saleem Butt House No. 341, Block F, new Katarian Market Satellite Town Rawalpindi, Punjab, Pakistan. Email :

The Holy Prophet(SAW) said :-"For every disease there is a cure so if the medicine comes upon the disease it cures it by the will of Allah, the Most High." [Saheeh Muslim - 2204] (http://ceragemtherapy.wozaonline.co.za/products) 2) Hydrogen peroxide The presence of sugar and water, along with free oxygen in honey, will create gluconic acid and hydrogen peroxide. Both of these elements are beneficial to kill microorganisms inside the body. 3) Acidity The acidity of honey is one of the factors that contribute to its antibacterial effect, antioxidant activities, and stability against microorganisms. The pH level of undiluted honey varies from 3.2 to 4.5 and this low acidity level inhibits the growth of bacterial pathogens, as some types of bacteria require a pH level of 7.2 to 7.4 to grow. Honey acidity is due to organic acids, especially gluconic acid which is a result of glucose oxidase in honey on glucose. This acid is produced when nectar is transformed into honey and it increases on storage. One type of honey that is known for its antibacterial properties is Manuka Honey. A recent research has found that Active Manuka Honey has another powerful antibacterial property known as UMF (Unique Manuka Factor). The combination of both hydrogen peroxide and UMF has been proven to have an astounding healing effect, including healing wounds.
Honey For Wounds Many people that have used honey for wounds experience a remarkable effect. Applying honey on wounds is not a recent idea. In fact, this treatment has been practiced since the ancient times. The Egyptians, for instance, used a salve of honey and grease as wound dressing. It was also used by the German physicians during World War I to treat gunshot wounds. In 1946, Professor S. Smirnov from the Tomsk Medical Institute applied honey on bullet wounds in 75 cases and concluded that it stimulates the growth of tissue in wounds that take a very long time to heal. Today, clinical studies have shown that using honey to heal wounds is highly effective, and this includes chronic ones such as diabetic ulcers and pressure ulcers that failed to heal when conventional therapy is used.
How does honey work? Honey reacts by releasing small quantities of hydrogen peroxide and creates a moist environment through a solution that does not stick or damage the skin tissues. The natural hydrogen peroxide in honey makes it an excellent antibacterial. In fact, the properties of honey, when compared to other antibacterial agents, show that honey is more superior in reducing inflammation and preventing the growth of microorganisms by draining out excessive fluid and secretions from the wound. This condition inhibits the growth of pathogens and protects the skin against any infection. Honey also contains many enzymes and one of them is catalase. What this enzyme does is speed up the breakdown of hydrogen peroxide and changes it into oxygen and water. Oxygen accelerates the healing process by stopping the growth of bacteria in the affected area.

The Holy Prophet(SAW) said :-"For every disease there is a cure so if the medicine comes upon the disease it cures it by the will of Allah, the Most High." [Saheeh Muslim - 2204] (http://ceragemtherapy.wozaonline.co.za/products) An important reason why applying honey on wounds works so well is due to the high concentration of sugars contained in it, which prevents bacterial growth. Plus, by keeping it closed, clean and sterile, honey helps the wound to heal faster. The effectiveness of using honey for wounds was demonstrated in one Israeli study in which health care workers applied unprocessed honey to open wounds of infants that did not heal despite the use of conventional treatment. After 5 days, they found that all infants showed great progress and 3 weeks later, the wounds had healed. Using honey to heal wounds can be done by applying a small amount of raw honey over the affected area and covering it with a gauze or bandage. The gauze does not stick to the flesh though, because honey stimulates a flow of lubricating healing fluid. Recently, honey wound dressings or wound plaster have been produced, which I think is a great, practical honey based product invented in the field of medicine. Not only are these honey impregnated gauzes effective and easy to use, they also reduced the pain sensation when compared to paraffin and saline-soaked gauzes. Honey is a natural source of energy that also offers a unique combination of nutritional benefits. Sugars are the fundamental unit of energy for our bodies. All carbohydrates, whether simple sugars or complex carbohydrates, must be broken down to glucose, or blood sugar, before our bodies can use them as energy. The sugars in honey are primarily glucose and fructose and although the body absorbs them in different manners, both provide the body with quick energy. Recent studies suggest that this unique mixture of sugars which occurs naturally in honey, works best in preventing fatigue and enhancing athletic performance. Diabetics and hypoglycemics should be careful when consuming honey and its by-products. The blood sugar reacts to these substances as it would to refined sugars. However, tupelo honey contains more levulose than any other honey and is absorbed at a slower rate so many hypoglycemics can use this type sparingly. (Prescription for Natural Healing, Balch, J. Olives & Figs
The olive comes from a blessed tree and Allah mentioned it seven times in the Quran. Allah said: By the fig and the olive [Surah at-Teen:1] Sheikh Abdulrahman as-Sadi (may Allah have mercy on him) said in explaning this Verse, "Allah swore by these two trees due to the immense benefit contained in these trees and likewise in their fruit." Allah said: Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth. The parable of His Light is as a niche within it a lamp: The lamp is in a glass, the glass as it were a brilliant star, lit from a blessed tree, an olive, neither of the east nor of the west, but whose oil would almost glow forth, though no fire touched it. Light upon Light! [Surah al-Mo'min: 35] Imam Ash-Shawkani (may Allah have mercy on him) mentioned in his tafseer collection Fathul Qadeer, that olive oil comes from a blessed tree as Allah mentions and that it also comes from a blessed land. He also mentioned that the Arabs used to use olive oil for their hair. Allah said: He it is Who sends down water from the sky; from it you drink and from it (grows) the vegetation on which you send your cattle to pasture. With it He causes to grow for you the crops, the olives, the datepalms, the grapes, and every kind of fruit. Verily! In this is indeed an evident proof and a manifest sign for people who give thought. [Surah an-Nahl:10-11] NOTE: There is a wealth of knowledge to be found on the medical benefits of Figs and olives and products derived from them like olive oil etc in terms of both dietary and cosmetic benefits.

The Black Seed is scientifically known as Nigella Sativa, the herd grows about 16-24 inches in height. From it comes a small rectangular Black Seed which is also known as the Blessed Seed (Arab: Habbat ul Baraka, or Habbat ul Sauda). The ancient Egyptians knew and used the Black Seed and described it as a panacea (cure for problems/disease). The Romans also knew this seed and called it Greek Coriander. Documented by the Greek physician of the 1st century, Dioscoredes, as an ailment for general health problems such as toothaches, headaches and was mainly used as a dietary supplement. In English-speaking countries with large immigrant populations, it is also variously known as kalonji in Hindi/Urdu kalauṃjī or ىجنولك/ kaloṃjī) or mangrail (Hindi maṃgarail), ketzakh (Hebrew )חצק, chernushka (Russian), çörek otu (Turkish), habbat al-barakah (Arabic هبح ةكربلاḥabbat al-barakah, seed of blessing), siyah daneh (Persian هنادهایسsiyâh dâne), karim jeerakam in Malayalam. A Prophetic Medicine as recommended 1400 years ago by the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). In his divine wisdom he said - "Use the Black Seed for indeed, it is a cure for all diseases except death." Saheeh al-Bukharee 7:591 Black Seed is also found in the Bible in the Book of Isaiah in the Old Testament.: "For the Black Cumin is beaten out with a stick and the Cumin with a Rod." Easton's Bible Dictionary clarifies that the Hebrew word for Black Cumin, "Ketsha" refers to "without doubt the Nigella Sativa", a small annual of the order Ranunculaceae which grows wild in the Mediterranean Countries. However although many people and cultures knew of black seed it was not scientifically researched until about forty years ago. Since then more than 200 studies have been conducted in the Universities all over the world. One such study conducted at the Munich Institute for Research on Newer Therapeutic Methods [Münchner Institut zur Erforschung neuer Therapieverfahren] has confirmed by means of the most modern analytic methods that Black Seed oil contains over 100 active health-promoting substances and displays superior clinical effectiveness as a nutritional supplement. Among the many amazing discoveries researchers have found, is that the Black Seeds are superior to almost every other natural remedy when used for autoimmune disorders; conditions in which patients suffer greatly because their own systems attack their bodies. Black Seed, especially when combined with Garlic, is regarded as a harmonizer of the imbalance which allows immune cells to destroy healthy cells. The technical language to describe this property is "Immunomodulatory Action." The difference between Black Seed and interferon is that there are no known side effects with Black Seed when administered in normal dosages. All in all Black Seed has been known and used throughout many cultures for over two thousand years.

The Holy Prophet(SAW) said :-"For every disease there is a cure so if the medicine comes upon the disease it cures it by the will of Allah, the Most High." [Saheeh Muslim - 2204] (http://ceragemtherapy.wozaonline.co.za/products) Aisha (ra) said that she heard the Messenger (saw) say, "This black seed is a cure for every disease except death. " [Saheeh al-Bukharee (5687)]. Khalid bin Sa'd (ra) said, "We went out and with us was Ghalib bin Abjar (ra). He fell sick along the way and when we came to al-Madinah, he was sick. Ibn Abu 'Atiq (ra) came to visit him and said to us, 'You should use this black seed. Take five or seven (seeds) and grind them then apply them to his nostrils with drops of olive oil on this side and on this side for Aisha (ra) narrated to them that she heard the Messenger (saw) say, "This black seed is a cure for every disease except death." [Saheeh Sunan ibn Majah (3449)]. Ibn Qaiyum (may Allah have mercy upon him) said, "It has immense benefits and his statement that it is a cure for every disease except death is like the statement of Allah."
What does the hadith "In it is a cure for everything except death" mean? There are a number of hadith pertaining to Black Seed and Hijama etc that state: "In it is a cure for everything except death." So why do these remedies not cure cancer, diabetes and all the illnesses in the world? This is a common question for most people but what we should know is that if something does not seem right in the Qur'an and Sunnah, it's not the Qur'an or Sunnah but usually our understanding of it. I would remind our readers to be careful when things are translated from Arabic to another language, in this case English and always try to return to the original Arabic to resolve any issues. In regards to these hadith the Prophet (saw) did not say "Al shifa" rather the Arabic word 'Shifa' (cure) came without the definite article which means that it is an indefinite word that covers most cures. This means that the Black Seed contains a benefit that contributes to the cure of every disease. However some people may misunderstand the translation and end up confusing themselves as well as others. From a medical point of view, these remedies contribute to the total cure - and not that they are the total cure themselves alone. For example Black Seed strengthens the immune system and so if the immune system is strengthened so will your bodies resilience against disease. Similarly, Hijama removes chemical impurities from the body and if this is done on a regular basis as recommended in the Sunnah, then it greatly reduces the likelihood of diseases gaining a permanent hold in your body. So the correct understanding of the hadith is that these remedies contain a benefit that contribute to the cure (shifa) of every disease.
Black Seed Research has found that there is not another herb known to work with such a wide range of healing capabilities. Nigella Sativa are known by many names for example, Black Seed or Black Cumin. Habbat ul barakah in Arabic countries (the Blessed Seed) due to the saying of the Holy Prophet (saw) and habbat assawda. It is referred to as Schwarzkummel in Germany and Corek Otu in Turkey. It is often named Black Onion Seed because of its similarity to onion seed in appearance but they share no relation to each other.
Warning Regarding Black Seed Oil

The Holy Prophet(SAW) said :-"For every disease there is a cure so if the medicine comes upon the disease it cures it by the will of Allah, the Most High." [Saheeh Muslim - 2204] (http://ceragemtherapy.wozaonline.co.za/products) Dear reader please note the hadith makes no mention of the word oil. The Prophet (saw) never used black seed oil! This is an important distinction as many people today are selling the oil and quoting the hadith as if it refers to the oil, which is causing confusion amongst people. In the hadith the Prophet (saw) specifies a dose of 7 seeds in each nostril for infection gives us an indication of the dose and the fact it is the seeds and not the oil. We are trying to emphasise the hadith and its meaning.
Isn't the oil is just the same as the seeds as it contains the same active ingredients? On the face of it this may sound like a good argument but apart from going against the hadith it is also a scientifically flawed argument. No one would compare eating olives to consuming olive oil, or the derivative of a product to the whole product. The fact that the product is derived should be enough for a person to understand something is missing. To make it even simpler to understand how about comparing eating whole coconut to coconut oil or even whole fish to fish oil.
So is Black Seed oil useless? We would advise that on balance, there have been medical studies done using the oil and some of those studies have indicated some benefits. So if one wants to use the oil form then they should follow the guidance from those studies as they have knowledge regarding the correct dosage for the conditions treated with the oil and can provide the statistics for the level of success. However the oil tends to be a very strong product and anyone who has tasted it can attest that it has a sharp and bitter taste. And for many people the oil causes stomach upsets etc, so we advise it should not be consumed on a long term basis without a compelling medical basis for doing so.
Black Seed Medical benefits For thousands of years, people around the world have recognized the tremendous healing properties of this Legendary Herb: "Nigella Sativa or Black Seed." Another profound discovery is that the ingredients (Polyunsaturated Fatty Acids) of the oil lead to increased production of the messenger substance Prostaglandin E1, a hormone-like substance, that functions as a general regulator on several body functions such as: 1. Brain function 2. Nerve function 3. Lowering blood pressure 4. Activation of the immune system. Black Seed is Rich in Nutritional Values. Monosaccharides (Single Molecule Sugars) in the form of Glucose, Rhamnose, Xylose, and Arabinose are found in the Black Seed. The Holy Prophet(SAW) said :-"For every disease there is a cure so if the medicine comes upon the disease it cures it by the will of Allah, the Most High." [Saheeh Muslim - 2204] (http://ceragemtherapy.wozaonline.co.za/products) The Black Seed contains a non-starch Polysaccharide component which is a useful source of dietary fiber. It is rich in fatty acids, particularly the unsaturated and essential fatty acids (Linoleic and Linoleic Acid). Essential fatty acids cannot be manufactured by the body alone, and therefore we acquire these from food. Fifteen amino acids make up the protein content of the Black Seed, including eight of the nine essential amino acids. Essential amino acids cannot be synthesized within our body in sufficient quantities and are thus required from our diet. Black Seed contains Arginine which is essential for infant growth. Chemical analysis has further revealed that the Black Seed contains Carotene, which is converted by the liver into Vitamin A, the Vitamin known for its Anti-Cancer activity. The Black Seed is also a source of Calcium, Iron, Sodium, and Potassium. Required only in small amounts by the body, these elements' main function is to act as essential co-factors in various enzyme functions.
Immune System Strengthening Studies begun just over a decade ago suggest that if used on an ongoing basis, Black Seed can play an important role to enhance human immunity, particularly in immunocompromise patients. In 1986, Drs. El-Kadi and Kandil conducted a study with human volunteers to test the efficiency of Black Seed as a natural immune enhancer. The first group of volunteers received Black Seed capsules (1 gram twice daily) for four weeks and the second group were given a placebo. A complete lymphocyte count carried out in all volunteers before and four weeks after administration of Black Seed and the placebo revealed that the majority of subjects who took Black Seed displayed a 72% increase in helper to suppresser T-cells ratio, as well as an increase in natural killer cell functional activity. The control group who received the placebo experienced a net decline in ratio of 7%. They reported, "These findings may be of great practical significance since a natural immune enhancer like the Black Seed could play an important role in the treatment of Cancer, AIDS, and other disease conditions associated with Immune Deficiency states." These results were confirmed by a study published in the Saudi Pharmaceutical Journal in 1993 by Dr. Basil Ali and his colleagues from the College of Medicine at Kin Faisal University. In the field of AIDS research specifically, tests carried out by Dr. Haq on human volunteers at the Department of Biological and Medical Research Center in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia (1997) showed that Black Seed enhanced the ratio between helper T-cells and suppresser T-cells by 55% with a 30% average enhancement of the natural killer (NK) cell activity.

The Holy Prophet(SAW) said :-"For every disease there is a cure so if the medicine comes upon the disease it cures it by the will of Allah, the Most High." [Saheeh Muslim - 2204] (http://ceragemtherapy.wozaonline.co.za/products) Histamine is a substance released by bodily tissues, sometimes creating allergic reactions and is associated with conditions such as Bronchial Asthma. In 1960, scientists Badr-El-Din and Mahfouz found that dimer dithymoquinone isolated from Black Seed's volatile oil, under the name of "Nigellone," and given by mouth to some patients suffering from Bronchial Asthma, suppressed the symptoms of the condition in the majority of patients. Following the results of this early study, Crystalline Nigellone was administered to children and adults in the treatment of Bronchial Asthma with effective results and no sign of toxicity. It was observed, however, that although effective, Crystalline Nigellone displayed a delayed reaction. In 1993, Nirmal Chakravarty, M.D., conducted a study to see if this delay could be attributed to the possibility of Crystalline Nigellone being an inhibitory agent on Histamine. His hypothesis proved correct. Dr. Chakravarty's study found that the actual mechanism behind the suppressive effect of Crystalline Nigellone on Histamine is that Crystalline Nigellone inhibits Protein Kinase C, a substance known to trigger the release of Histamine. In addition, his study showed that Crystalline Nigellone decreased the uptake of Calcium in mast cells, which also inhibits Histamine release. The importance of these results are that people who suffer from Bronchial Asthma and other Allergic Diseases may benefit from taking Crystalline Nigellone.
Anti-tumor Principles A study of Black Seed's potential anti-tumor principles by the Amala Research Center in Amala Nagar, Kerala (India) in 1991 lent further impetus to Dr. Chakravarty's suggestion for the possible use of Black Seed in the treatment of Cancer. Using an active principle of fatty acids derived from Black Seed, studies with Swiss Albino Mice showed that this active principle could completely inhibit the development of a common type of cancer cells called Ehrlich ascites carcinoma (EAC). A second common type of cancer cells, Dalton's lymphoma ascites (DLA) cells were also used. Mice which had received the EAC cells and Black Seed remained normal without any tumor formation, illustrating that the active principle was 100% effective in preventing EAC tumor development. Results in mice who received DLA cells and Black Seed showed that the active principle had inhibited tumor development by 50% less compared to mice not given the active principle. The study concluded, "It is evident that the active principle isolated from Nigella Sativa Seeds is a potent antitumor agent, and the constituent long chain fatty acid may be the main active component."

The Holy Prophet(SAW) said :-"For every disease there is a cure so if the medicine comes upon the disease it cures it by the will of Allah, the Most High." [Saheeh Muslim - 2204] (http://ceragemtherapy.wozaonline.co.za/products) In 1989, a report appeared in the Pakistan Journal of Pharmacy about Anti-Fungal Properties of the volatile oil of Black Seed. 1992 saw researchers at the Department of Pharmacy, University of Dhaka, Bangladesh, conducting a study in which the antibacterial activity of the volatile oil of Black Seed was compared with five antibiotics: Ampicillin, Tetracycline, Cotrimoxazole, Gentamicin, and Nalidixic Acid. The Black Seed Oil proved to be more effective against many strains of bacteria, including those known to be highly resistant to drugs: V. Cholera, E. Coli (a common infectious agent found in undercooked meats), and all strains of Shigella spp., except Shigella Dysentriae. Most strains of Shigella have been shown to rapidly become resistant to commonly used antibiotics and chemotheraputic agents. In light of the above research findings, it is of interest that homeopaths have long been known to make a tincture from the Black Seed for digestive and bowel complaints. Traditionally, the Black Seed is still used to help relieve vomiting and diarrhea, as well as flatulent colic, and to help counteract the griping action of purgatives (e.g. certain laxatives, fruits such as apricots when over consumed).
Anti-Inflammatory As early as 1960, Professor El-Dakhakny reported that Black Seed Oil has an anti-inflammatory effect and that it could be useful for relieving the effects of Arthritis. In 1995, a group of scientists at the Pharmacology Research Laboratories, Department of Pharmacy, Kings College, Lond, decided to test the effectiveness of the fixed Oil of Nigella Sativa and its derivative, thymoquinine, as an anti-inflammatory agent. Their study found that the oil inhibited eicosanoid generation and demonstrated anti-oxidant activity in cells. The inhibition of Eicasanoid generation, however, was higher than could be expected from Thymoquinone alone. Their study suggested that other compounds within the oil might also be responsible for the enhanced anti-inflammatory reactions in cells. The scientists speculated that the unusual C20:2 unsaturated fatty acids contained in Black Seed were possibly responsible for boosting the oil's effectiveness. In 1997, studies conducted at the Microbiological Unit of the Research Center, College of Pharmacy, King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, found that externally in an ointment form, the anti-inflammatory activity of the Black Seed was found to be in the same range as that of other similar commercial products. The tests also demonstrated that the Black Seed is non-allergenic.
Promotes Lactation A study by Agarwhal (1979) showed that Black Seed Oil increases the milk output of breastfeeding mothers. A literature search by the University of Potchefstroom (1989), including biological abstracts, revealed that

Black Seed - Summary of Actions:
Analgesic: Relieves or dampens sensation of pain. Anthelmintic: (Also know as vermicide or vermifuge) destroys and expels intestinal worms. Anti-bacterial: Destroys or inhibits the growth of destructive bacteria. Anti-Inflammatory: Reduces inflammation. Anti-Microbial: Destroys or inhibits the growth of destructive microorganisms. Antioxidant: Prevents or delays the damaging oxidisation of the body's cells - particularly useful against free radicals. Anti-Pyretic: (Also known as ferbrifuge) - exhibits a 'cooling action', useful in fever reduction. Anti-spasmodic: Prevents or eases muscle spasms and cramps. Anti-tumour: Counteracts or prevents the formation of malignant tumours* Carminative: Stimulates digestion and induces the expulsion of gas from the stomach and the intestines. Diaphoretic: Induces perspiration during fever to cool and stimulate the release of toxins. Diuretic: Stimulates urination to relieve bloating and rid the body of any excess water. Digestive: Stimulates bile and aids in the digestive process. Emmenagogue: Stimulates menstrual flow and activity. Galactogogue: Stimulates the action of milk in new mothers. Hypotensive: Reduces excess blood pressure. Immunomodulator: Suppresses or strengthens immune system activity as needed for optimum balance. Laxative: Causes looseness or relaxation of the bowels.
Types of Ruqyah

The Holy Prophet(SAW) said :-"For every disease there is a cure so if the medicine comes upon the disease it cures it by the will of Allah, the Most High." [Saheeh Muslim - 2204] (http://ceragemtherapy.wozaonline.co.za/products)
What is Ruqyah? Ruqyah is a vast subject and covers many topics such as Sihr (Magic) Masaha (Possession) and Ayn (Evil Eye). We have presented a basic outline in regards to what is Ruqyah and how it is related to us via the Sunnah. Ruqyah is the treatment relayed to us by the Prophet Muhammad (saw) for afflictions such as Sihr (Magic) Masaha (Possession) and Ayn (Evil Eye). To translate Ruqyah as 'incantation' may bring to mind connotations of magic and sorcery which are forbidden in Islam. To use the term "By spiritual means" may not convey the meaning in full. [See Ismail L.Faruq's Translation]. The meaning most relevant to us when asking the question what is Ruqyah, is that Ruqyah is when a person recites part of the Qur'an such as Al-Fatihah or makes supplication using words transmitted from the authentic Hadith of the Prophet (saw) Ref. Fath-ul-Majid] In brief, Ruqyah is a Quranic therapy for issues pertaining to the heart, mind and soul. It was narrated that A'ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was ill, he would recite al-Mu'awidhatayn (surahs of Al-Falaq and An-Nas) over himself and spit dryly. When his pain grew intense, I recited over him and wiped him with his own hand, seeking its blessing. " (Al-Bukharee). With regard to the du'aa' that is prescribed for the Muslim to say if he wants to recite Ruqyah for himself or for someone else, there are many such du'aa's, most common are Al-Fatihah and Al-Mu'awidhatayn. A group of the Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) set out on a journey and traveled until they came near one of the Arab tribes. They asked them for hospitality but they were refused. Prepared by: Saleem Butt House No. 341, Block F, new Katarian Market Satellite Town Rawalpindi, Punjab, Pakistan. Email :

The Holy Prophet(SAW) said :-"For every disease there is a cure so if the medicine comes upon the disease it cures it by the will of Allah, the Most High." [Saheeh Muslim - 2204] (http://ceragemtherapy.wozaonline.co.za/products) Then the leader of that tribe was stung, and his people tried everything to cure him but nothing helped. Then some of them said, "Why don't you go to those people who are staying (nearby)? Maybe one of them has something." So they went to them and said, "O people, our leader has been stung and we have tried everything and nothing helped him. Do you have anything?" One of them said, "Yes, by Allah. I will perform Ruqyah for him, but by Allah we asked you for hospitality and you did not give us anything, so we will not perform Ruqyah for you unless you give us something in return." So they agreed on a flock of sheep, then he started to blow on him and recite Al-hamdu Lillahi Rabb il-'Alameen. Then he recovered quickly from his complaint and started walking, and he was completely cured. After that they took the flock of sheep, and some of the companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Let us share it out." The one who had performed Ruqyah said, "Do not do anything until we come to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and tell him what happened, and we will wait and see what he tells us to do." So they came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and told him what had happened. He said, "How did you know that it is a Ruqyah?" Then he said, "You did the right thing. Share them out, and give me a share." And the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) smiled. (Al-Bukharee and Muslim). The du'aa's that have been narrated in the Sunnah include the following: It was narrated that Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to seek refuge for alHasan and al-Husayn, and he would say, 'Your father [ meaning Ibrahim peace be upon him] used to seek refuge with Allah for Isma'il and Ishaq with these words: A'udhu bi kalimat Allah al-tammah min kulli shaytanin wa hammah wa min kulli 'aynin lammah (I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah, from every devil and every poisonous reptile, and from every evil eye).'" (Al-Bukharee).
Seeking Treatment To exorcize the Jinn is obligatory according to the principles of repelling oppression, aiding the oppressed, enjoining righteousness and forbidding evil, just as it is with humans. A question was posed to Ibn Taymiyah (ra) regarding the subject, he expressed: "In (exorcism) there is also alleviation of grief and suffering of the oppressed." Allah's Messenger (saw) is reported by Abu Hurayrah in Saheeh Muslim (vol: 4, no: 6250) to have said: "Whoever relieves a believer of one of the tragedies of life, Allah will relieve him of one of the calamities of the Day of Resurrection." Jaabir (ra) also reported in Saheeh Muslim (vol: 3, no: 5456) that when Allah's Messenger (saw) was asked about incantation, he replied: "Whoever among you is able to help his brother, he should do so."
Hadith regarding not seeking Ruqyah Many people seem to be under the impression that it is better not to seek a cure which is incorrect. With regard to the hadith narrated by Muslim, according to which the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) described the seventy thousand of this Ummah who will enter Paradise without being brought to account or punished, and in which it says: "They are those who did not recite Ruqyah or ask for Ruqyah to be done, and they did not believe in bad omens and they put their trust in their Lord " - the phrase "they did not recite Ruqyah " is the words of the narrator, not of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Hence Al-Bukharee narrated Prepared by: Saleem Butt House No. 341, Block F, new Katarian Market Satellite Town Rawalpindi, Punjab, Pakistan. Email :

The Holy Prophet(SAW) said :-"For every disease there is a cure so if the medicine comes upon the disease it cures it by the will of Allah, the Most High." [Saheeh Muslim - 2204] (http://ceragemtherapy.wozaonline.co.za/products) this hadith and did not mention this phrase. Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "These people are praised because they did not ask anyone to recite Ruqyah for them, and Ruqyah is a type of du'aa', so they did not ask others to pray for them. The phrase "and they did not recite Ruqyah " which is mentioned in the hadith is a mistake (on the part of the narrator), for their Ruqyah for themselves and for others is a good deed. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recited Ruqyah for himself and for others but he did not ask anyone to recite Ruqyah for him. His reciting Ruqyah for himself and others was like his making du'aa' for himself and others; this is something that is enjoined, for all the prophets asked of Allah and prayed to Him, as Allah tells us in the stories of Adam, Ibraheem, Musa. " (Majmu' al-Fatawa, 1/182) Ibn al-Qayyim (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "This phrase is inserted in the hadith, but it is a mistake on the part of some of the narrators." (Hadi al-Arwah, 1/89)
Types of Ruqyah There are some important conditions that must be satisfied in a ruqyah to make it permissible. They were summarized by Ibn Hajar (AR): "There is a consensus among the 'ulama that Ruqyah are permissible when they satisfy three conditions: 1 - To be with Allah's words or His names and attributes 2 - To be in Arabic or of an intelligible meaning 3 - And to believe that they do not have effect by themselves but by Allah (swt)." Fath ul Bari 10/240 In what follows, we discuss each of these conditions: 1. Must Be with Allah's Words, Names, or Attributes As we will see below, all forms of Ruqyah reported in the Sunnah satisfy this condition. They either consist of specific portions of the Qur'an, such as al-Fatiha or Ayat ul-Kursiy, or contain a praise of Allah (swt) and an invocation of His help and protection. 2. Must Be with Clearly Understood Words This is an important condition that must be satisfied in order to eliminate any magic factors from the ruqyah. 3. Believing That the True Benefit Is from Allah (swt) Similar to our earlier discussion of medicines, one must always believe that the true and ultimate protector is Allah (swt) alone, and that Ruqyah and medications are means that He created and He controls as He wills. Thus trust must be put in Him and not in the means that He created. Allah (swt) commands His Messenger (saw): So seek refuge with Allah (only); verily, it is He who is all-Hearer, all-Seer. (Al Ghafir 40:56).

[Saheeh Muslim - 2204] (http://ceragemtherapy.wozaonline.co.za/products) Various forms of supplications for prevention or healing, some of which may be classified as Ruqyah, have been presented in this site. In what follows, we include some more, or refer to earlier ones, as the discussion warrants.
Ruqyah with Allah's Name Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (RA) reported that Jibril came to the Prophet (saw) and said:, "O Muhammad, are you sick?" He replied, 'Yes.' He said: "Bismillahi arqik, min kulli shayin yuthik, min sharri kulli nafsin aw ayni hasid - With Allah's Name I shelter you (give you ruqyah), from all that ails you, from the evil of every soul, or that of the envious eyes. May Allah cure you; with Allah's Name I shelter you." Muslim.
Ruqyah with Allah's Book 'Aishah (RA) reported that Allah's Messenger (saw) came into her house and saw with her a woman who was treating her with ruqyah. He told her: 'Treat her (only) with Allah's Book.' Recorded by Ibn Hibban; verified to be authentic by al-Albani in as-Sahihah no. 1931. In what follows, we present Ruqyah with specific Surahs or ayat as is recorded in the Sunnah. 1. Ruqyah with al-Fatiha
Abu Sa'id al-Khudri and Ibn Abbas (RA) reported that a number of the Prophet's (saw) companions were on a journey. They stopped one night by the dwellings of a bedouin tribe who refused to host them and give them food. The chief of that tribe was then stung (by a snake or scorpion). His people tried everything possible to treat him, but to no avail. One of them suggested to seek help from the travellers. When they came to them, one of them said, "By Allah, I can perform ruqyah; but you have refused to host us. So I would not perform the ruqyah until you pledge to give us an offering." They agreed to give them a flock of thirty sheep, and the companion started blowing (with light spit) on the stung man's sting and reading al-Fatiha. He was immediately cured, like one who was tied and then set free. He stood and walked as if nothing happened to him, and they gave them their pledged offering. Some of the companions said, "Let us divide this flock among us." Others said, "No, you may not take any pay for reading Allah's Book! Let us not divide the goats until we reach the Prophet (saw), tell him what happened, and see what he commands us." When they reached al-Madinah, they came to the Prophet (saw) and told him what happened. He said (approvingly):'How did you know that it (al-Fatiha) is a ruqyah? You have done well! And indeed, the best thing to be paid for is Allah's Book*. So, divide it among you; and allot a share for me.' Al Bukharee, Muslim. 2. Ruqyah with al-Muawwidhat
As explained earlier, al-Muawwidhat are the last three Surahs of the Qur'an. The last two of them carry a clear meaning of ruqyah, and are presented below. Surat ul-Ikhlas (112) does not carry such meaning in an explicit Prepared by: Saleem Butt House No. 341, Block F, new Katarian Market Satellite Town Rawalpindi, Punjab, Pakistan. Email :

[Saheeh Muslim - 2204] (http://ceragemtherapy.wozaonline.co.za/products) manner, but contains concise and strong words of praise for Allah (swt), making it an important introduction to the succeeding two Surahs: (Say, "I seek refuge with the Lord of daybreak, from the evil of what he created, and from the evil of darkness when it settles, and from the evil of the blowers in knots, and from the evil of an envier when he envies.") 113 (Say, "I seek refuge with the Lord of the people, the King of the people, the God of the people, from the evil of a retreating whisperer, who whispers (evil) in the breasts of the people, (whether he is) from among jinns or the people.") 114 'Aishah (RA) reported: "When Allah's Messenger (saw) went to bed, he would bring the palms of both hands together, and blow into them while reading "Qul huwa Allahu ahad" 112, "Qul a'udhu bi rabb il-falaq" 113, "Qul a'udhu bi rabbi n-Nas" 114. He would then rub with them whatever he could reach of his body, starting with his head, face, and the front part of his body. He would do this three times. When he got very ill, he asked me to do that for him." Al Bukharee and Muslim. 'Aishah (RA) also reported: "In the final sickness in which he passed away, the Prophet (saw) used to blow over himself with al-Mu'awwidhat. When he became very ill, I blew with them for him, rubbing over him with his own hand because of the blessing in it." Al Bukharee and Muslim We can use these Surahs for scorpion stings like it as been reported in a hadith. 3. Ruqyah with Ayat ul-Kursi
Ubayy Bin Ka'b narrated that he had a harvest of dates. He noticed that it shrunk every day, and decided to watch it at night. He did and noticed a beast that looked like a boy who attained puberty. He gave him salam, and it responded to him with salam. He asked it, "Are you human or jinn" It replied, "Jinn." He told it, "Show me your hand." It showed him its hand, and he saw that it looked like a dog's, with fur like that of a dog covering it. He exclaimed, "Is this how jinn are like!?" It then told him, "All jinns know that there is no one among them stronger than me." He asked it, "What brought you here?" It replied, "We have been informed that you like to give charity, so we came to get some of your food." He asked it, "What would protect us from you?" It replied, "This ayah from Surat ulBaqarah: (Allahu la ilaha illa huwa Al-Hayy ul-Qayyum,) (2/255) - whoever says it in the evening will be protected from us until the morning, and whoever says it in the morning will be protected from us until the evening." In the morning, Ubayy came to Allah's Messenger (saw) and told him of that incident. He told him, 'The evil one has said the truth!' Recorded by An-Nasai.
Charging for Ruqyah From the hadith relating that a companion of the Prophet performed Ruqyah and was paid for it many people justify being paid for Ruqyah, whilst this is acceptable it is also important to note from the same hadith that

[Saheeh Muslim - 2204] (http://ceragemtherapy.wozaonline.co.za/products) the chief of the arab tribe was healed first. And only then did he pay the companion however we find many people charging each time they see a patient whether they are cured or not. For those who propose charging for each session regardless of a cure we say this creates a conflict of interest one could well ask are they really interested in the cure of the patient because if they cured the patient first time their income is reduced why cure someone the first time when they could charge them for 3 times or more! Others drag out charging a person for their time and effort for for recited water or herbs etc. We advise its best to agree to a charge before hand and if a person is cured then payment is due if they are not then no payment should be due, as we doubt very much the desert chief would have paid anything if he was not cured. If however a person feels a genuine effort was made by the Raaqi then they can donate whatever is easy for them.
Epilepsy and Ruqyah? Ibn 'Abbas once said to me, "Shall I show you a woman of the people of Paradise?" I said, "Yes." He said, "This black lady came to the Prophet (saw) and said, 'I get attacks of epilepsy and my body becomes uncovered; please invoke Allah for me.' The Prophet (saw) said (to her), 'If you wish, be patient and you will have Paradise; and if you wish, I will invoke Allah to cure you.' She said, 'I will remain patient' and added 'but I become uncovered, so please invoke Allah for me that I may not become uncovered.' So he invoked Allah for her." - Bukharee Book 7, Volume 70. The above a hadith is referring to medical epilepsy, we cannot imagine the Prophet (saw) leaving a woman possessed by Shaytaan and telling her to have patience. If the Prophet (saw) had prayed for her it would have been classed as a miracle like praying for a blind person to see etc, instead he advised her to be patient with her condition. This is in no way related to epilepsy that is caused by the shayateen possessing a person, which is obligatory to treat, according to the principles of repelling oppression and aiding the oppressed.
I have done Ruqyah but I am not cured Not everyone will be cured first time. However we believe if Ruqyah is done competently then inshallah with the permission of Allah you should be cured. As you know treating an illness consists of 2 parts, diagnosis and treatment. It may be in some cases that either of these components is lacking. It may be that the initial diagnosis may not have been entirely correct, therefore leading a person to actions that did not deliver a cure. Or it may simply be the treatment needs to be adjusted. It is also worth noting in certain cases the patient mabybe doing things contrary to the treatment. For more detailed information on this topic, please visit the Ruqyah Myths page.
Strong magic / Sihr, stubborn Jinn Prepared by: Saleem Butt House No. 341, Block F, new Katarian Market Satellite Town Rawalpindi, Punjab, Pakistan. Email :

The Holy Prophet(SAW) said :-"For every disease there is a cure so if the medicine comes upon the disease it cures it by the will of Allah, the Most High." [Saheeh Muslim - 2204] (http://ceragemtherapy.wozaonline.co.za/products)
I have been to a few Raaqis and they have tried to help me but to no avail and they have said it is due to strong magic or stubborn Jinn ? We believe the fact that you have not been cured is not due to the strength of the Jinn or Magic but rather the weakness of the Raaqi, either in terms of his knowledge or technique in treating you. There is nothing more powerful than the verses of Allah but we must know how to use and apply them in removing the Jinn or Magic. Not every Raaqi will be able to extract or deal with every type of Jinn or Magic and we would advise the Raaqi who fail to cure a person to stop using these terms, as they make a person feel weaker in their illness and denote strength for the disbelieving shayateen Jinn. And we know Allah says: "verily the plot of shaytaan is weak" but rather it would be more appropriate for the Raaqi to acknowledge their own limitations and refer you to someone who may have more knowledge and experience than them.
Treating black magic with more magic Many people affected by Jinn either through a lack of knowledge or sheer desperation at times search for cures to Jinn, Jadoo, Jadu, Sihr, Voodoo, Black Magic or whatever they wish to call it, by going to magicians who basically do more magic! And in most cases make the situation worse by adding further magic to suppress the initial magic. But this is rarely effective and we would advise two wrongs do not make a right. Hijama Clinic offer a specialist Ruqyah service, please contact us for further information.
Magic (Sihr), Possession (Masaha) and Evil eye (Ayn) Introduction When speaking about Ruqyah, these 3 terms Sihr, Masaha and Evil eye are quite often used interchangeably by people but in fact they are 3 very different things. Below is a brief outline of the three terms and their differences. Prepared by: Saleem Butt House No. 341, Block F, new Katarian Market Satellite Town Rawalpindi, Punjab, Pakistan. Email :

The Holy Prophet(SAW) said :-"For every disease there is a cure so if the medicine comes upon the disease it cures it by the will of Allah, the Most High." [Saheeh Muslim - 2204] (http://ceragemtherapy.wozaonline.co.za/products) Sihr: Refers to magic involving a human who engages into a contract with a Jinn, to affect a victim. This is a criminal act. Possession: Is when a Jinn is acting of its own accord. For example a person may have accidently harmed a Jinn etc and so the Jinn has possessed them to get revenge etc. Evil Eye: In the case of Evil eye, there is no established hadith which indicates the involvment of Jinn in this issue. It is simply caused by jealousy or envy between humans. A person can become suddenly ill with no real medical explanation via Evil eye. A known solution is to have a bath with recited water, which can clear the symptoms.
Magic / Sihr It is important to note is that there is no such thing as black magic or white magic or even red, yellow or blue. The Quran and Sunnah do not mention colours of magic but mentions it as shirk. Magic and Jinn both exist in Islam and have been proven by the Quran and Hadith. It is evident from the Qur'an and the Hadith that Jinn are the creations of Allah and are made from Fire. Like Angels they cannot be seen by the normal human eye. Evil Jinn are also referred to as Shayteen. Jinn can commit havoc if interfered with but generally keep themselves to themselves. They live in the world and take their place where it suits them, usually areas remote from humans. Magic Sihr is something which condemned in the strongest of terms in the Quran and Sunnah. "They followed what the Shayaateen (devils) gave out (falsely of the magic) in the lifetime of Sulaymaan (Solomon). Sulaymaan did not disbelieve, but the Shayaateen (devils) disbelieved, teaching men magic" [alBaqarah 2:102] Allaah informs us that they (the shayaateen) committed kufr by teaching men magic. Then He says : "...and such things that came down at Babylon to the two angels, Haaroot and Maaroot, but neither of these two (angels) taught anyone (such things) till they had said, 'We are for trial, so disbelieve not (by learning this magic from us).'" [al-Baqarah 2:102] " And from the evil of those who practise witchcraft when they blow in the knots" [al-Falaq 113:4] Magic was performed on the Prophet of Allah (Allah bless him & give him peace). A Jew by the name of Labid ibn Asim who outwardly posed to be a believer (Munafiq) carried out black magic on the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him & give him peace). He took the hair of the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him & give him peace) and made eleven knots and placed it under a rock in a well called Zarwan. The effect of this was that it created uncertainty in the mind of the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him & give him peace) as to whether he had done or not done certain things (although this had no effect on his religious and prophetic obligations). At times the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him & give him peace) felt he had accomplished something yet he had not done so and vice versa. The angel Jibra'il informed the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him & give him peace) as to what had occurred and came down with the two Surahs, namely Surah alFalaq and Surah an-Nas. The Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him & give him peace) together with the Prepared by: Saleem Butt House No. 341, Block F, new Katarian Market Satellite Town Rawalpindi, Punjab, Pakistan. Email :

The Holy Prophet(SAW) said :-"For every disease there is a cure so if the medicine comes upon the disease it cures it by the will of Allah, the Most High." [Saheeh Muslim - 2204] (http://ceragemtherapy.wozaonline.co.za/products) Companions (Allah be pleased with them all) went to the well and removed the knotted hair. As each verse was recited, the knots untied miraculously. At the eleventh knot, the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him & give him peace) was relieved from the effects of this black magic. There are numerous types of Sihr magic mentioned in the Quran involving things which magicians manage to do through the shayateen (devils), they do things that may affect a man's reason or make him sick; they may cause division between a man and his wife etc. Magic has a process and rules and regulations like any field of science. What we know from the Quran is that magic is done via committing Shirk with Allah swt. Magic Sihr is kufr and one should stay far away from anyone involved in such matters.
Possession / Masaha Possession is where a Jinn enters a human to cause mischief. Many people believe that just because they are possessed it must be sihr Magic which actually is not the case. Usually in cases of possession the Jinn is a deputy of shaytaan or as is the case nowadays humans invite a the Jinn into their homes or do actions that make it easy for Jinns to enter them, occasionally a human may accidentally harm a Jinn and it would seek revenge. Clear evidence of Jinn possession from the Sunnah are in a number of authentic tradition, one of which is related by, Ya'la Ibn Murah (ra), who says: "I saw Allah's Messenger (saw) do three things which no one before or after me saw. I went with him on a trip. On the way, we passed by a woman sitting at the roadside with a young boy. She called out, 'O Messenger of Allah, this boy is afflicted with a trial, and from him we have also been afflicted with a trial. I don't know how many times per day he is seized by fits.' He (saw) said: 'Give him to me.' So she lifted him up to the Prophet (saw). He (saw) then placed the boy between himself and the middle of the saddle, opened the boy's mouth and blew in it three times, saying, 'In the name of Allah, I am the slave of Allah, get out, enemy of Allah!' Then he gave the boy back to her and said: 'Meet us on our return at this same place and inform us how he has fared.' We then went. On our return, we found her in the same place with three sheep. When he said to her, 'How has your son fared?' She replied: 'By the One who sent you with the truth, we have not detected anything (unusual) in his behavior up to this time' [Musnad Ahmad (vol: 4, p. 170), and al-Haakim, who declared it Saheeh] This authentic narration describes how Allah's Messenger (saw) commanded the Jinn possessing the boy, to leave. Also, the Messenger of Allah (saw) is reported to have said: "Verily, Shaytaan flows in the bloodstreams of Adam's descendants." [Saheeh Muslim (vol: 3, no: 5404)] In recent times their appears to have been a significant increase in the number of people who are being affected by Jinn. There are numerous causes of this but generally it is due to the fact that society as a whole is moving away from the correct worship of Allah and not even calling towards his oneness and his guidance shariah let alone implementing it. The specific causes are more like the increase in pictures in our houses almost every product has a picture on it, even our currency has a face on it. The issue of pictures extends far beyond just the house, it has occupied our streets, cities and villages with posters everywhere, usually of men Prepared by: Saleem Butt House No. 341, Block F, new Katarian Market Satellite Town Rawalpindi, Punjab, Pakistan. Then if you consider music and its prevalence to the same degree as pictures, one would wonder why an Angel would ever visit our homes or streets! It appears we are doing our utmost against Allah's deen we put up pictures in our houses to drive the Angels away and then play music to invite the shayateen from amongst the Jinn in! So with the shayateen of the Jinn entering our cities there are more and more cases of muslims and non muslims being affected by possession.
Evil Eye / Ayn Evil Eye / Ayn, this is something between humans and does not involve Jinn, Evil eye is due to jealousy and envy and causes a person to fall ill, the treatment for evil eye differs from Magic and Possesion although Ruqyah can be recited for the person also but the verses and dua's pertain to hasad and evil eye. Everyone who puts the evil eye on another is envious, but not every envier puts the evil eye on another. The word haasid (envier) is more general in meaning than the word 'ayn' (one who puts the evil eye on another), so seeking refuge with Allaah from the one who envies includes seeking refuge with Him from the one who puts the evil eye on another. The evil eye is like an arrow which comes from the soul of the one who envies; sometimes it hits him and sometimes it misses. If the target is exposed and unprotected, it will affect him, but if the target is cautious and armed, the arrow will have no effect and may even come back on the one who launched it. Allah says: "And verily, those who disbelieve would almost make you slip with their eyes (through hatred)" [al-Qalam 68:51] Ibn 'Abbaas and others said, commenting on this verse: this means, they put the evil eye on you with their glances. The Prophet (saw) said: "The evil eye is real and if anything were to overtake the divine decree, it would be the evil eye. When you are asked to take a bath (to provide a cure) from the influence of the evil eye, you should take a bath." Narrated by Muslim. Al-Nasaa'i and Ibn Maajah narrated that 'Aamir ibn Rabee'ah passed by Sahl ibn Haneef when he was bathing and he quoted the hadith. Jibreel used to do Ruqyah for the Prophet (saw) and say: "Bismillaahi arqeeka min kulli shay'in yu'dheeka, min sharri kulli nafsin aw 'aynin haasid Allaahu yashfeek, bismillaahi arqeek (In the name of Allaah I perform Ruqyah for you, from everything that is harming you, from the evil of every soul or envious eye may Allah heal you, in the name of Allaah I perform Ruqyah for you)." Narrated Ibn 'Abbas: The Prophet (saw) used to seek Refuge with Allah for Al-Hasan and Al-Husain and say: "Your forefather (i.e. Abraham) used to seek Refuge with Allah for Ishmael and Isaac by reciting the following: 'O Allah! I seek Refuge with Your Perfect Words from every devil and from poisonous pests and from every evil, harmful, envious eye.'" Bukharee. Ibn 'Abbas reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: "The influence of an evil eye is a fact; if anything would precede the destiny it would be the influence of an evil eye, and when you are asked to take bath (as a cure) from the influence of an evil eye, you should take bath."

The Holy Prophet(SAW) said :-"For every disease there is a cure so if the medicine comes upon the disease it cures it by the will of Allah, the Most High." [Saheeh Muslim - 2204] (http://ceragemtherapy.wozaonline.co.za/products) Abu Dawood narrated that 'Aa'ishah (may Allaah be pleased with her) said: "The person who had put the evil eye on another would be ordered to do wudoo', then the person who had been afflicted would wash himself (with that water)." Saheeh Abi Dawood. If it is known or suspected that a person has been afflicted by the evil eye, then the one who put the evil eye on him should be ordered to wash himself for his brother. Ibn Shihaab Az-Zuhree said: The method of washing as described by our scholars is as follows: the person with the evil eye should be given a vessel of water and told to wash his body with the same water in the following order, without placing the vessel on the floor:
To rinse one's mouth, then spit the wasted water back into the vessel, To wash one's face with the water in the vessel, To wash one's right arm with one's left hand and one's left arm with one's right hand, To wash one's right elbow with one's left hand and one's left elbow with one's right hand, To wash one's right foot with one's right hand and one's left foot with one's right hand, To wash one's right knee with one's left hand and one's left knee with one's right hand To wash the parts under the sheet.
According to Al-Qaazii ibn Al-'Arab, the parts under the sheet refers to whatever parts of the body are covered by the sheet. Afterwards, the wasted water in vessel should be poured on the affected person's head and back, in one go. It will, by Allah's leave, cure the affected person almost instantly.
Summary Dear reader, we think its best mentioned that in these day of ignorance if someone was to request another person to do wudu because of evil eye either the person would laugh at them or you may end up in a fist fight as they may feel insulted so we would advise please do try to fulfil the Sunnah but keep in mind in trying to do some good you should not cause more harm! So it maybe better to cure oneself with one of the reciting Ruyahs mentioned above.

Sihr (Magic) in detail
Symptoms of Jinn possession and types of Magic (Sihr) Dear reader, the list of symptoms that we present is by no means exhaustive. These symptoms may be real but we must point out that they may also occur for other reasons, such as staying up all night, or confusion and uncertainty. So we must try to protect ourselves from the whispers that the Shaytaan tries to instill in our hearts, when reading this list of symptoms. The clear difference between Masaha or Sihr and a medical issue is when the Qur'an is recited upon a person and an adverse reaction is observed. Note: the below material is extracted from the works of Adbusalaam Bali, the full versions can be downloaded in PDF format from our Ruqyah resources page.
Symptoms of Jinn possession / Magic These symptoms have been divided into three categories: 1. Those which occur when one is awake

The Holy Prophet(SAW) said :-"For every disease there is a cure so if the medicine comes upon the disease it cures it by the will of Allah, the Most High." [Saheeh Muslim - 2204] (http://ceragemtherapy.wozaonline.co.za/products) 2. Those which occur when one is asleep 3. Sudden behavioural changes that one may experience that are out of character.
1. Symptoms when one is awake: 1 - Turning away, in particular, from acts of worship and obedience, the remembrance of Allah (swt) (Dhikr) and reading the Qur'an. Allah (swt) says: And whosoever turns away blindly from the remembrance of the Most Gracious (Allah (swt) (i.e. this Qur'an and worship of Allah (swt), we appoint for him Shaytaan to be a Qarin (a companion) to him. And verily, they (Shayateen) hinder them from the path (of Allah (swt) but they think that they are guided aright - (Al-Zukhruf 43:36-37) 2 - Erratic behaviour in one's words, deeds and movements. Allah (swt) says: (Those who eat Riba will not stand (on the Day of Resurrection) except like the standing of a person beaten by Shaytaan leading him to insanity.) (Al-Baqarah 2:275) 3 - Seizures (with no medical cause); there are signs to indicate that a seizure has devilish causes. 4 - Paralysis of a limb (with no medical cause). 5 - Being quick to get angry or weep with no apparent cause. 6 - Sitting in the toilet for a long time, and talking to oneself. 7 - Constant headache with no medical cause, which is not eased by painkillers. 8 - Irregular menstruation in women. 9 - Not producing children although both husband and wife are medically sound and able to reproduce. 10. Depression. - Depression refers to intense sadness. It is a widespread mental illness, indeed one of the most widespread. As for mild sadness or feeling "blue", this is a normal and natural emotion which hardly anyone can escape, not even a believer. Allah (swt) says: Secret counsels (conspiracies) are only from Shaytaan, in order that he may cause grief to the believers. - (Al-Mujaddilah 58:10) If that sadness increases and takes over a person, it becomes depression. Signs of depression: - Feeling distressed and sad - Loss of appetite - Lack of focus, forgetfulness - Sleep disturbances, weight loss - Lack of sexual desire There are other signs when one is awake, but they may be caused by other life circumstances, such as not succeeding in efforts to get married, repeatedly failing to do so etc.
2. Symptoms when one is asleep: 1 - Frightening nightmares, which includes seeing various kinds of creatures such as ghosts or apparitions, seeing oneself falling from a high place, seeing people in strange forms, and snakes. A man may see a woman who wants him to have intercourse with her (and vice versa) constantly in his dreams, or he may see someone threatening him.

[Saheeh Muslim - 2204] (http://ceragemtherapy.wozaonline.co.za/products) 2 - Insomnia, anxiety and fear upon waking. 3 - Talking loudly in one's sleep, or moaning and groaning. Note: A person should not be regarded as being possessed by Jinn if any of these symptoms occur. No one can be certain that a person has been possessed by Jinn until after the Qur'an has been recited over them, so these symptoms should not be taken as definitive evidence of Jinn possession.
3. Sudden behavioural change Signs of sudden behavioural change that has to do with a person's inward attitude. The below is a general guidline for all Muslims. However for practising Muslims who did not have these qualities before but find a sudden strange inclination to them, should get themselves checked with Ruqyah as soon as possible. - Associating others with Allah (swt) (Shirk) - Minor Shirk (showing off) - Being angry with the divine decree (like saying 'why has this happened to me?' etc) - Forgetting Allah (swt) and the Hereafter - Feeling safe from the plot of Shaytaan and getting carried away in sin and relying on Allah (swt) 's mercy - Despairing of the mercy of Allah (swt) - Thinking badly of Allah (swt) - Deliberately telling lies about Allah (swt) and the Messenger of Allah (swt) (saw) - Arrogance, self-admiration and showing off - Loving to be praised for doing acts of worship - Deceit, Hypocrisy, Greed, Stinginess - Hidden anger, grudges and envy - Turning away from people out of arrogance and scorning them - Looking at the rich and venerating them because of their richness - Fear of poverty - Mocking the poor because of their poverty - Competing in worldly gains - Loving to be praised for what one has not done - Being preoccupied with the faults of others whilst ignoring one's own faults - Strong feelings for religions other than the religion of Allah (swt) - Mocking the slaves of Allah (swt) , looking down on them and despising them - Thinking badly of Muslims - Not accepting the truth because it goes against one's own whims and desires, or hating those who speak the truth - Rejoicing in sin and Persisting in sin - Acquiring knowledge for worldly gain (showing off) - Offending the close friends of Allah (swt) and taking them as enemies - Showing evil behaviour and foul language so as to make people fear you and avoid your evil Prepared by: Saleem Butt House No. 341, Block F, new Katarian Market Satellite Town Rawalpindi, Punjab, Pakistan. Types of Magic Sihr and Possession Masaha 1. Sihr of Separation Allah (swt) says: (...and they follow what the Shayateens recited over Sulayman's Kingdom. Sulayman disbelieved not but the Shayateens disbelieved, teaching the people sorcery, and that which was sent down upon Babylon's two angels, Harut and Marut; they taught not any man, without they said, 'We are but a temptation; do not disbelieve.' From them they learned how they might divide a man and his wife, yet they did not hurt any man thereby, save by the leave of Allah (swt), and they learnt what hurt them and did not profit them, knowing well that whosoever buys it shall have no share in the world to come; evil then was that they sold themselves for; if they had but known.) (2:102) Jabir (ra) reported that the Prophet (saw) said: "Iblis would lay his throne on water and would send his brigade of demons. The lowest among them in rank is the one who is most notorious in stirring up fitna. One of the demons would, after a mission, come and say to Iblis, 'I have done so and so.' Iblis would reply, 'You have not done anything.' Another one would come and say: 'I have not left such and such person until I separated him from his wife.' Iblis would come closer to his demon and say, 'How good you are.'" - (Muslim in An-Nawawi : 17/157) Definition of Sihr of Separation
It is a Sihr which aims to separate between two spouses, or stir up hatred between two friends or two partners. Symptoms of Sihr of Separation: 1. A sudden change in attitude from love to hate. 2. Exaggerating the causes of disputes between two people, even though they may be trivial. 3. Changing the mental image that a woman may have of her husband, or changing the mental image that a man may have of his wife; so that the man would see his wife in an ugly way, even though she were beautiful. In reality, it is the demon who is entrusted with the task of performing this type of Sihr is the one who would appear to the husband in her person, but in an ugly way. By the same token, the woman would see her husband in a horrible way. 4. The person affected by Sihr hates anything the other party does. 5.The person affected by Sihr hates the place in which the other party stays. For instance, a husband may be in good mood when he is outdoors, but when he returns home, he feels quiete depressed. According to Al-Hafidh Ibn Kathir, the cause of separation between two spouses through this Sihr is that each of them appears to the other as an ugly or ill-mannered person. - (Tafsir lbn Kathir: 1/144)
2. Sihr Al-Mahabba / At-Tiwala (Love)

The Holy Prophet(SAW) said :-"For every disease there is a cure so if the medicine comes upon the disease it cures it by the will of Allah, the Most High." [Saheeh Muslim - 2204] (http://ceragemtherapy.wozaonline.co.za/products) The Prophet (saw) said: "Ar-ruqa, at-tama'im and at-tiwala are acts of polytheism." - (Imam Ahmad) (1/381) According to Ibn Al-Athir, At-Tiwala is a type of Sihr which makes a man love his wife. The reason why this type of Sihr is classed by the Prophet (saw) as an act of polytheism is because those who have it done for them believe that it has an effect and does the opposite of what Allah (swt) has prescribed. - (An-Nihaya: 1/200) I would like to emphasise that the ruqyah referred to in the above hadith is the one which seeks the assistance of Jinn and devils and consists of acts classed as polytheistic. However, the ruqyah which is based on the Qur'an and lawful supplications of Allah (swt) is lawful, according to scholars. It is reported in Sahih Muslim that the Prophet (saw) was quoted as saying: "There is no harm in using ruqyah as a means of treatment provided it does not consist of anything polytheistic."
3. Sihr At-Takhyil (False Appearance of Objects) Allah (swt) says: They said, "Moses, will you throw something down or shall we be the ones to throw." He said, "You throw!" So when, they charmed people's eyes and overawed them. They produced a splendid Sihr. And We revealed to Moses: 'Cast thy staff.' And lo, it forthwith swallowed up their lying invention. So the truth came to pass, and false was proved what they were doing. So they were vanquished there, and they turned about, humbled. And the sorcerers were cast down, bowing themselves. They said, 'We believe in the Lord of al-'Alamin (Jinn and mankind), the Lord of Moses and Harun. (7:117-122) They said, 'Moses, either you will cast (something) or shall we be the first to cast (a spell)?'. It seemed to him under the effect of their Sihr that their ropes and stuff were sliding. (17:65-66) Symptoms 1. A fixed object would appear to be mobile, while a mobile object would appear to be fixed for the viewer. 2. A small object would appear large, while a large object would appear small for the viewer. 3. The false appearance of objects: Under the effect of the magic of Pharaoh's sorcerers, ropes and rods appeared to viewers as real snakes.
4. Sihr Al-Junun (Lunacy) Kharija Ibn Salat reported that his paternal uncle went to the Prophet (saw) and declared his conversion to Islam. On his way back, his uncle passed by a people who had fettered a lunatic in chains. They said: "We were told that your companion (the Prophet (saw)) has brought good with him. Do you have anything with which to cure our lunatic?" I recited al-Fatiha and he was cured. They gave me one hundred sheep and then approached the Prophet (saw) to inform him of it. He asked: "Did you say anything other than this?" I replied: "No." He said: "Take it, for by my life, some would accept in return for a false Ruqyah, but you have done this with a genuine one." According to another narration, "the man cured him by reciting al-Fatiha for three days, day and night; whenever he finished reciting it, he would gather his saliva and spit." Symptoms 1. Severe absentmindedness and forgetfulness Prepared by: Saleem Butt House No. 341, Block F, new Katarian Market Satellite Town Rawalpindi, Punjab, Pakistan. Email :

[Saheeh Muslim - 2204] (http://ceragemtherapy.wozaonline.co.za/products) 2. Confused speech 3. Bulging eyes and deviation of sight 4. Restlessness 5. Inability to do a task regularly 6. Disinterest in one's appearance 7. ln severe cases, one can tell from a lunatic's face that he does know where he is going, and he would probably sleep in derelict places
5: Sihr Al-Khumul (Lethargy) How this happens
A sahir would send a Jinn to the targeted person, instructing him to settle in his brain and make him introverted and lonely. The Jinn would do his best to carry out the mission, and the symptoms of this Sihr would appear, according to the strength and weakness of the Jinn entrusted with the task. Symptoms 1. Love of seclusion 2. Absolute introversion 3. Constant silence 4. Anti-sociability 5. Absentmindedness 6. Frequent headaches 7. Quietness and constant lethargy
6: Sihr Al-Hawatif (Bad Dreams & Hearing Voices) Symptoms 1. The patient experiences nightmares 2. The patient sees in a dream as if someone were calling him 3. The patient hears voices talking to him when awake, but cannot see where these voices are coming from 4. The patient hears much whispering (Al-Waswas) 5. The patient is very suspicious of his/her friends and relatives 6. The patient dreams of seeing himself/herself falling from a high place 7. The patient dreams of seeing himself/herself being chased by animals

Total paralysis of the body 5. Disability in of one of the sense organs
8: Sihr An-Nazif (Bleeding Following Menses) How it is achieved
This type of Sihr affects women only. A sahir sends a Jinn to the targeted woman and instructs him to cause her to bleed. To do so, the Jinn enters the woman's body and circulates in her veins and arteries with the blood. This notion of circulation has long been warned about by the Prophet (saw) in the following tradition: "Shaytaan circulates in man's body like blood." - (Al-Bukharee: Fath Al-Bari: 4/282) When the Jinn reaches a known vein in the woman's womb, he stomps it so that the vein bleeds. This fact was also pointed out by the Prophet (saw) when Hamna bint Jahsh asked his opinion on the issue of bleeding outside the period of menses, and he said: "Such bleeding is but one of Shaytaan's stomping." - (At-Tirmidhi) According to another tradition, the bleeding "is the result of Shaytaan's stomping on a vein rather than from a normal menses." - (Imam Ahmad and An-Nasai) Therefore, according to both traditions, a menstruation that occurs outside its normal period is one of the Shaytaan's stomps on one of the womb's veins. According to scholars of Fiqh (jurisprudence), an-nazif refers to al-istihadha (continuous menstruation), and according to doctors, it refers to bleeding. According to Ibn Al-Athir, al-istihadha means bleeding following a normal menses. This bleeding may last for months, and the amount of blood could be little or large.
9: Sihr of Impeding Marriage The Jinn has two options
1. If he can enter the girl, then he would cause her to feel uncomfortable with any prospective husband and; thus, turn him down. 2. If he cannot enter the girl, then he would use the Sihr of imagination, from outside. As a result, a suitor would see the girl in an ugly image under the effect of the Jinn's whispering, and so would the girl. Under the effect of this Sihr and under the Jinn is whispering, a suitor, who would have initially agreed to the marriage, would decline after a few days, without any valid reason. [Saheeh Muslim - 2204] (http://ceragemtherapy.wozaonline.co.za/products) In cases of a strong Sihr, a suitor would, upon entering the house of his prospective wife, feel very uncomfortable and see darkness before him as if he were in prison, and so would never return. During the period of this Sihr, the Jinn may cause the girl to experience occasional headaches. Symptoms 1. Occasional headaches, which persist despite medication 2. Severe tightness in the chest, especially between al-'asr and midnight 3. The patient sees the suitor in an ugly image 4. Absentmindedness 5. Anxiety during sleep 6. Occasional constant stomach-aches 7. Pain in the lower part of the back
10. Al Sihr Ar-rabt (Penile Erection Problem during intercourse), Al- 'ajz al-jinsi (impotence) and Adh-dhu'f al-jinsi (sexual weakness) Ar-Rabt Al-'ajzal-jinsi (sexual inability / impotence):
The man affected by this type of Sihr feels active and energetic about having sexual intercourse with his wife. His penis is even erected as long as he is distant from his wife. Nevertheless, as he approaches her, his penis shrinks and is unable to have sexual intercourse. It means a man's inability to have sexual intercourse with his wife, whether he is distant from or near her, as his penis cannot erect. Adh-dhu'f al-jinsi (sexual weakness):
A man can only have sexual intercourse with his wife after long periods. Sexual intercourse takes place for only a short time; after which the penis looses its rigidity. Ar-Rabt in Women (sexual frigidity)
Just as a man suffers from ar-rabt (penile erection failure) and is unable to have sexual intercourse with his wife, a woman, too, may suffer from ar-rabt (frigidity). There are some types of rabt in women: 1. Rabt al-man'(obstruction): It occurs when a woman prevents her husband from having sexual intercourse with her. 2. Rabt at-taballud (lack of sexual feeling): The Jinn entrusted with the mission of Sihr settles in the centre of sexual feeling in the woman's brain and causes her to lose her sexual feeling, at the moment of sexual intercourse with her husband. As a result, she feels no sexual pleasure and does not respond to her husband. Her body becomes numb even if her husband does what he wishes with her. In this type of Sihr, the glands do not release the fluid which lubricates the vagina, and therefore, the sexual act cannot be achieved. [Saheeh Muslim - 2204] (http://ceragemtherapy.wozaonline.co.za/products) 3. Rabt An-nazif (bleeding at the time of sexual intercourse): This is different from Sihr an-nazif in one aspect. While, rabt An-nazif is confined to the time of sexual intercourse, Sihr an-nazif may last for several days. In this type of Sihr, the Jinn causes heavy bleeding to the targeted woman at the time of sexual intercourse with her husband, and thus prevents the man from having sexual intercourse with his wife. One day, one man, who was a soldier, told me that whenever he came home for holidays, his wife would bleed as soon as he arrived home. The bleeding would last for the holiday period which was approximately five days, but would stop as soon as he went back to work.
Final notes Dear reader, after having read all the above symptoms, it is easy to start saying 'I have such and such a sypmton, I MUST be affected'. We would like to remind you that until you have sought Ruqyah and the presence of Jinn has been confirmed, one should not start self suspecting.
Ruqyah Myths We have dedicated this page to exploring some of the common myths in circulation regarding Ruqyah and shedding some light on possible risks. One should know that many cases of so called possession are due to psychological illness, mistakenly understood to be spirit-possession. The reason behind the prevalence of this misconception to some extent, is the practice of some exorcists (raaqis) who have made exorcism a way of obtaining money from the common masses. They convince people into believing that they have been possessed by jinn as a way of earning money in the name of treatment. When discussing the world of the jinn and unseen (Ghayb), it is worth remembering that Islam came to remove superstitions and false beliefs. However, we find in the world of Ruqyah and jinn, those who have a tendency to believe in superstitions, are being drawn to this subject and misguiding themselves as well as others, commonly making statements without any basis. So be very mindful of what you are told in terms of the subject of jinn and do not allow yourself to be drawn into false beliefs. Just like in the field of magic the majority of people who claim that they can do magic are actually plain tricksters. As is often the case that they cannot do anything, except maybe write out a fake amulet (taweez) in order to impress etc. Unfortunately, similar people exist in the field of Ruqyah too. It is important to know for someone looking into Ruqyah, that just because someone can bring up a jinn by reciting Qur'an, does not necessarily mean they know what they are doing. As such, many of the myths associated with Ruqyah are in fact propagated by these type of Raaqis themselves. Below are some of the most common myths that we have come across.

The Holy Prophet(SAW) said :-"For every disease there is a cure so if the medicine comes upon the disease it cures it by the will of Allah, the Most High." [Saheeh Muslim - 2204] (http://ceragemtherapy.wozaonline.co.za/products) Please note: The vast majority of sincere raaqis will be just as appalled and shocked that this is happening in the name of Islam. However we have highlighted some issues for your consideration so you can make an informed choice when seeking Ruqyah.
Common Myths 1. The jinn is residing within the blood in the veins of the patient. This is based upon the Hadith relating to Muhammad (saw) walking one of his wives home, late one night. When the prophet (saw) saw two of his companions rushing past, he (saw) summoned them to witness that indeed the woman he (saw) was walking with, was his wife. The Sahaba (ra) said "subhanallah, we would never have doubted you". In response to this the prophet Muhammad (saw) said "verily Satan runs in the human in the veins, and I feared that he, satan cast something bad in your hearts." From Safiyyah bint 'Huyeiyy (ra) said the Prophet (saw) was performing I'tikaaf, thus I came to him visiting him at night, thus I talked with him and then I stood up to return, so he stood with me to return me. And her house was in the house of Usamah bin Zaid, thus two people from Ansar walked by them and then when they saw the Prophet (saw) they hastened. Thus the Prophet (saw) said: "walk slowly, verily this is Safiyyah Bint Huyeiyy", they both said "Sub'hanallah O Messenger of Allah" He said "verily the Satan runs in the human in the veins. And I feared that he (Satan) cast something bad in your hearts". In another version he (saw) said: "Verily the Satan runs in the son of Adam in the veins". And in another narration there is an addition which says: "And feared that Allah would cast something bad in your hearts thus you be destroyed". Muslim (2175) and Bukhari (2035). As we can see the Hadith is clearly indicating suspicion or a false impression. Even if this Hadith is taken literally it does not make any distinction between those who are affected by jinn and those who are not. It is referring to all human beings. Therefore, it cannot be taken as evidence to suggest that the shayateen jinn reside in the veins of the patient. Furthermore, many Raaqis prescribe hijama for the purpose of eliminating the jinn or sihr from the veins of a patient. However, any hijama therapist will know that hijama is not performed directly on the veins! Medically speaking hijama draws stagnated blood from the body, not healthy blood from the veins, which would actually defeat the purpose of hijama. Another myth we hear of is when hijama is carried out on patients, certain practitioners claim that the steamed cups and bubbling blood is a sign of black magic or jinn. This is simply not the case. Below is a simple video experiment demonstrating what happens to any liquid once you create a vacuum suction around it.
2. The patient does not feel the pain. The patient does not feel the pain is probably one of the most prominent myths in Ruqyah. This one myth alone has led some raaqis to practically humiliate the patient or cause such extreme pain that the patient declares "I am cured" just to escape the raaqi. This is a common belief held by many raaqis which generally leads them to use evermore physical methods, even though the vast majority of evidence suggests otherwise. The Holy Prophet(SAW) said :-"For every disease there is a cure so if the medicine comes upon the disease it cures it by the will of Allah, the Most High." [Saheeh Muslim - 2204] (http://ceragemtherapy.wozaonline.co.za/products) Patients may scream that they are experiencing pain but these medieval ruqyah practitioners continue in denial and claim that it is the jinn experiencing the pain and not the patient. In some unfortunate cases people have been killed by raaqis who will still insist the patient did not feel the pain. It is with sadness that we present the below video of raaqis practising in the name of Qur'an and Sunnah. As you can see there are serious concerns with these practices which have no logical basis, let alone Qur'an and Sunnah. However we feel people have the right to know what they might be subjected to just because someone says they do Ruqyah. The video shows so called 'techniques' varying from stepping on a patients stomach, beating with a stick to slapping a patients face whilst holding a sword to their neck. All this is being actually advertised as Ruqyah treatment. We know experimentation is allowed in Ruqyah however one does wonder if our Beloved Prophet (saw) and his noble companions saw such practises, would they have approved? It's the jinn syndrome. Some raaqis appear to function under the understanding that if a patient isn't screaming and shouting. it's really not effective Ruqyah and as such their methods reflect this attitude. Medieval Ruqyah Practices
Some people who may have been through these 'treatments' will state that they felt better. This is not due to the drastic physical treatment they have undergone but it will have been the effect of the Qur'anic recitation during the treatment that actually caused the patient to feel better.
Other dangerous practises Ruqyah baths with near boiling or feezing water
Ruqyah baths with normal temperature water are an effective means for certain types of jinn. However some raaqis appear to just relish in seeing their patients in agony. This is simply a dangerous practise for whatever reason these raaqis seem to believe you can boil a jinn out of a patient, or freeze it to death. Electric shocks
Some raaqis use taser guns to electrocute the patient and some even use the mains electricity. Apart from being illegal and risking causing death, these types of practises bring Islam into disrepute and really does make it look medieval. Scaan / Hermal
Some raaqis prescribe Scaan or Hermal, to take as a drink. They claim it is a cure for Sihr, Hasad and evil eye. Almost every symptom you mention they will say it cures it. If this product is taken in excess or beyond its recommended dosage it can prove to be dangerous and land you in hospital. It may also bring about severe depressant action on the nervous system. Many Raaqis use this under a patients nose and say that the jinn dislike them. However if you were to hold these under anyones nose they would also dislike it just as much. There have been cases where raaqis have damaged the lining of a persons nose because they have held these salts under them for for too long. Milk, olive oil and blackseed oil etc
This can take various forms, from raaqis selling 'special milk', to forcing a patient to drink extremely large amounts of liquid, until they vomit in order to bring up the sihr they supposedly ate. For example 5 bottles of black seed oil or 20 litres of milk etc. We are not against prescribing these things in sensible quantities and as part of a normal Ruqyah programme, where they have proven effective.
I have done Ruqyah and am not cured? Even after many of the above barbaric and medieval methods, most patients are still not cured. This is then usually explained away by the raaqi, with the following mythical claims: (along with being told that the patient is not pious enough.)
Strong magic / Sihr, stubborn jinn I have been to a few Raaqis and they have tried to help me but to no avail and they have said it is due to especially strong magic or stubborn jinn ?
We believe the fact that you have not been cured is not due to the strength of the jinn or Magic but rather the weakness of the raaqi, either in terms of his knowledge or technique in treating you. There is nothing more powerful than the verses of Allah but we must know how to use and apply them in removing the jinn or Magic. Not every raaqi will be able to extract or deal with every type of jinn or Magic and we would advise the raaqi who fails to cure a person, to stop using these terms, as they make a person feel weaker in their illness and denote strength for the disbelieving shayateen jinn. And we know Allah says: "verily the plot of shaytaan is weak". So rather it would be more appropriate for the raaqi to acknowledge their own limitations and refer you to someone who may have more knowledge and experience than them.
Jinn jumping in and out of the patient's body Often patients are told by raaqis that the jinn left them but has now returned. During a Ruqyah session, a jinn may come up and perhaps speak either in its own voice or through the patient's voice. Sometimes during a Prepared by: Saleem Butt House No. 341, Block F, new Katarian Market Satellite Town Rawalpindi, Punjab, Pakistan. Email :

The Holy Prophet(SAW) said :-"For every disease there is a cure so if the medicine comes upon the disease it cures it by the will of Allah, the Most High." [Saheeh Muslim - 2204] (http://ceragemtherapy.wozaonline.co.za/products) Ruqyah the patient snaps back to their normal personality and the raaqi tells the person, the jinn has gone or 'jumped out'. However, all that has happened is the patient has snapped back to his normal self and the jinn is still very much there. When the patient returns home, they notice the jinn is still present within them. At this point the raaqi, who the patient no doubt contacts, tells him the jinn has returned. All that is needed to find out whether the jinn is still present within the patient or has in fact left, is to take a break during the Ruqyah, ask the patient to make wudu and then to recite on the patient again and you will find the jinn still there.
Sihr / magic being repeated Many raaqis, when they fail to cure the patient, they claim the magic is being repeated and create an impression that the magician is watching them all the time. Sitting day and night just dedicated to ruin their life. This is a classic story used by raaqis who fail to remove the jinn. Rather than admit they could not get it out they just blame the magician again. The Raaqi has no proof that the magic has been redone. He did not see the magician redo it, so how does he know? Simply because the jinn is still there, is the proof being offered that the magic has been 'redone'. There is absolutely no evidence to suggest that this is happening and to make matters worse, it is causing further trauma to the patient, who envisages someone going to a magician again and again, to destroy his or her life and the lives of their family. Rather what is evident is that the raaqi was simply unable to rid the patient of the jinn. Or as in many cases, the patient has multiple jinn and when one is eliminated, the next one steps up. Logically, in most cases the patient is just one of many victims of the magician. Commonly magicians have large numbers of clients and victims. For illustration purposes, lets assume a magician receives 5 clients a day. This works out to 1300 in a year. Now if the magician did magic on a victim 2 years ago, this would be 2600 people ago! It is unlikely they would even remember you. And most people only find out, many years after the magic was actually done.
Consumed or eaten Sihr This has come into fashion with many raaqis diagnosing their patients with eaten Sihr, simply because they vomit or have stomach movements during the Ruqyah. Patients are then given many concoctions designed to make them vomit or diarrhoea to help remove the assumed eaten Sihr. Unfortunately, even after the painful purging effects of these concoctions many patients are still left with the jinns in their body and their associated symptoms. Someone with a basic knowledge of Ruqyah will be able to confirm that even in cases of simple possession which does not involve Sihr, a jinn generally settles in the stomach and when recited upon the person will vomit. This does not mean the person has eaten the sihr.
External jinn Many people will state physical symptoms such as seeing things move or feel certain sensations or hearing noises etc and when the raaqi recites on them, due to a lack of reaction, they are then misinformed that they are affected by 'external jinn'. Although there is such a thing as external Jinn, if a person is feeling an effect

The Holy Prophet(SAW) said :-"For every disease there is a cure so if the medicine comes upon the disease it cures it by the will of Allah, the Most High." [Saheeh Muslim - 2204] (http://ceragemtherapy.wozaonline.co.za/products) most of the time, the Jinn has always been internal and its just a matter of repeating the Ruqyah to force it to surface.
If the jinn leaves, you will be worse off Some raaqis when failing to remove the Jinn from a person, resort to telling the patient that if they were to make the jinn leave, the patient will be depressed or worse off. As the jinn has been with them for so long that, when removed it will leave a void in them. One has to ask well why did they try to treat or make it leave in the first place if they knew that was going to be the impact? Also, if a person is possessed by a shayateen, how could forcing it out ever be a negative thing?
Famous Qur'an reciters doing Ruqyah tours As Ruqyah is a treatment that requires continued investigation and support over a period of time, how can someone simply passing by on a tour, offer a patient this? Unfortunately this is just simply a moneymaking exercise, taking advantage of vulnerable people. Somehow it is imagined that the fame of the reciter will have an additional effect on the Ruqyah. In severe cases we have seen these famous reciters and their organisers dumbfounded when they have come across a particularly powerful Jinn.
The 1 hour Ruqyah As soon as the raaqi has placed a fixed 1 hour time limit on a Ruqyah session, often the jinn knows that all it needs to do is hold on for that 1 hour. The raaqi is also aware of this phenomena. However the common masses who are unaware of this, spend a lot of time and money to get to these appointments, only to return home disappointed. Note that we are not against a raaqi charging per hour for their time, for as many hours that it may take to remove the jinn. However to limit a session to 1 hour just gives the Jinn impetus to hang in there and infact it helps certain types of Jinn in their arrogance and stubbornness.
Group Ruqyah Here we are referring to group Ruqyah i.e mass Ruqyahs involving large numbers of people in halls, community centres etc. (This is not referrring to cases of just a few people being treated in a room together). We find this a common practise amongst some raaqis who mainly do this to lower costs for the average person. However it ignores the basic fundamentals of Ruqyah. The only people who seem to benefit somewhat from these types of session are those who react vividly, so the organisers may start dealing with them individually. But anyone who does not have a overtly visible reaction, will simply be ignored and left feeling it was just a waste of time.
Jinn catching Prepared by: Saleem Butt House No. 341, Block F, new Katarian Market Satellite Town Rawalpindi, Punjab, Pakistan. Email :

The Holy Prophet(SAW) said :-"For every disease there is a cure so if the medicine comes upon the disease it cures it by the will of Allah, the Most High." [Saheeh Muslim - 2204] (http://ceragemtherapy.wozaonline.co.za/products) Despite the Islamic legality of this method being brought into question by some notable scholars in the field of Ruqyah, unfortunately due to desperation some people will try anything. Note that we are not advocating or discussing the legality of the method, we are simply trying to shed some light on the actual 'claimed success' of this method, so you can decide for yourself. Briefly, jinn catching is a method used whereby the raaqi claims to draw out the jinn from the body of the patient, by using the verses of the Qur'an into a 3rd party, who is designated the 'jinn catcher'. The first thing to note is that the raaqi recites on the 3rd party i.e the catcher, as opposed to on you, the patient. The patient should know that what appears to have been 'caught' or turns up in the catcher, has not been proven at all to be related to the patient. This is just a myth and at times it may appear to know some facts regarding the patient but this in no way proves the jinn is from the patient. The proponents of this method claim that when the jinn is captured inside the body of the catcher, it is out of its comfort zone and therefore it is much weaker and is easily destroyed or converted. Every now and then the catcher raises his index finger, to suggest that the jinn, which has entered his body has taken the Shahada etc. It is also common for the majority of the clients of 'jinn catching', to be taken through the following process: 1. You will be told that you have eaten the Sihr and prescribed senna tea and Ruqyah water / baths for two weeks, to supposedly clear this Sihr from the body. 2. You will be requested to undergo Ruqyah and hijama treatment in combination. After following this treatment for the prescribed time and finding you still have the jinn with you: 3. You will be advised the Sihr has been 'redone' so you need go to step 1 again. We have come across many patients who have been told they have been cleared of the Sihr, without actually being recited upon to establish the truth. So people have gone away believing they were cured. However when noticing their symptoms continued, they checked with other raaqis who recited Ruqyah on the actual patient as opposed to a 3rd party, they found that they reacted just like they did before. So nothing had actually changed and many people felt cheated by this method.
The truth of 'jinn catching'? Any independent observer to jinn catching will notice that the vast majority of jinn that turn up in the catcher, are all saying a similar story i.e the person has eaten the Sihr. And most people are put through a standard program with standard claims. Unfortunately, when patients find that their case has not been resolved and they are still left with the jinns in their body, they are told by the raaqi that the reason is because the magic has been 'redone' and they need to repeat the treatment. Thereby the patient is left going in circles without any progress. The magic 'being repeated' myth has been explained above, as this is a standard claim used by many raaqis in almost any situation in which they do not know what to do.

We would advise the catcher before they sign up to assisting their brothers and sisters in Islam by volunteering themselves as a vessel to act as catcher, that the long term effects of this practice are not known. There are some cases of people of have previously been known to act as the catcher, who are now in a very bad state of affairs.
The superstitous attitude As you can see from the above myths, many things are being done and said in the field of Ruqyah, without any logical evidence, let alone Qu'ran and Sunnah. So we would remind you that Islam came to remove superstitions and false beliefs. One should always remember that the knowledge of the Ghayb (unseen), which includes information concerning the angels, is only known to Allah as mentioned in the Qur'an. Allah says: "Say: 'None in the heavens and the earth knows the Ghayb (Unseen) except Allah..." [Surah alNaml (27):65] "He (Allah alone) is the Knower of the Unseen, and He does not reveal His secrets to anyone - except to him whom He chooses namely, his Messengers." [Surah al-Jinn (72):26-27] Thus, Allah does not reveal any information of the Ghayb to anyone except to His Messengers from amongst humans and angels. Allah has restricted this information because reporting about the Ghayb is among the signs of prophethood. Allah revealed many matters of the Ghayb to our Prophet Muhammad (saw) who informed us of them, like the angels, jinn, hereafter and others. It is important to mention here that even the Messenger of Allah (saw) did not have the absolute knowledge of the Ghayb. He only knew that which was revealed to him through revelation from Allah. Allah says in the Qur'an: "Say (O Muhammad saw), 'I don't tell you that with me are the treasures of Allah, nor (that) I know the unseen but, I follow what is revealed to me by inspiration." [Surah al-An'am (6): 50] Consequently, he (saw) is our one and only source of information about the Ghayb. However, with the completion of revelation from Allah, our source to the knowledge about the Ghayb has ceased. We therefore, have to suffice with what has reached us from the Messenger about the Ghayb, and any statement made concerning the Ghayb has to backed with proofs from the Qur'an and the Sunnah. One of the reasons why the children of Adam go astray while speaking about the unseen is when they make false and baseless claims. Such was the case of the Arab pagans at the time of Allah's Messenger (saw), who made many claims about the matters of the Ghayb without any genuine source of information. Allah rebuked them saying: "Or have they a stairway (to Heaven), by means of which they listen? Then let their listeners produce some manifest proof." [Surah at-Tur (52): 38]

The Holy Prophet(SAW) said :-"For every disease there is a cure so if the medicine comes upon the disease it cures it by the will of Allah, the Most High." [Saheeh Muslim - 2204] (http://ceragemtherapy.wozaonline.co.za/products) An example is when the Arabs went on a journey of business or significance they used to release birds into the air and if it flew to the right is was deemed good luck and if the bird flew to the left it was deemed bad luck. May Allah protect us from such nonsense and so please be mindful of unfounded statements regarding the jinn as most of these statements have no value in islam despite making interesting talk time in coffee shops. But if one is not careful seemingly innocent statements can become a cause for a person slowly stepping into shirk as the Qur'an states: "O you who have believed, do not follow the footsteps of Satan." Another of their astray claims and superstitions was that angels are females and they mixed this idea with that which is far removed from the truth - that these females are daughters of Allah (Na'oudhubillah). The Qur'an refuted them and pointed out that they had no sound evidence for their claims. It is strange indeed that they attributed daughters to Allah, when they themselves hated daughters. Allah says in Surah as-Saffat:'Now ask them (O Muhammad), 'Are there daughters for your Lord and sons for them? Or did We create the angels females while they were witnesses? Verily, it is of their falsehood that they (Quraysh pagans) say, 'Allah has begotten offspring or children (i.e. angels are the daughters of Allah)?' And, verily, they are liars! Has He (then) chosen daughters rather than sons? What is the matter with you? How do you decide? Will you not then remember? Or is there for you a plain authority?' [Surah as-Saffat (37): 149-156] Thus, the best manner in which the Angels are described is 'slaves of Allah' and they cannot be described as males or females. Allah has described the true status of the angels in a number of places in the Qur'an: 'And they say, 'The Most Beneficent (Allah) has begotten a son (or children).' Glory to Him! They [those whom they call children of Allah i.e. the angels, 'Iesa (Jesus) son of Maryam (Mary), 'Uzair (Ezra), etc.], are but honored slaves.' [Surah al-Ambiya (21): 26]. Arab superstitions were not limited to the world of the unseen. Some Arabs used to regards the stars as the cause of rainfall when this is not the case. The evidence for that is the hadith narrated by al-Bukharee (801) and Muslim (104) from Zayd ibn Khaalid alJuhani who said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) led us in praying Fajr at al-Hudaybiyah, following rainfall during the night. When he had finished praying, he turned to the people and said, 'Do you know what your Lord has said?' They said, 'Allaah and His Messenger know best.' He said, 'This morning one of My slaves became a believer in Me and one became a disbeliever. As for the one who said, 'We have been given rain by virtue of Allaah and His mercy,' he is a believer in Me and a disbeliever in the stars. But as for the one who said, 'We have been given rain by such and such a star,' he is a disbeliever in Me and a believer in the stars.'" [Bukharee (801) and Muslim (104)]

Ruqyah FAQs When answering questions about Ruqyah Magic Shir and Jinn we have always tried to eliminate possible medical and environmental issues. If you are affected by Jinn please do not be offended but we think this its best to eliminate these as possible factors.
Ask a question This section is updated regularly with readers questions. If you have a question that you would like to ask, please contact us using the following email:

Does Hijama help in cases of Sihr Magic? Magic: Ibn Al-Qayyim (may Allah have mercy on him) mentions that the Messenger (saw) was afflicted with magic and was cupped on the head to treat it. He also mentions that Hijama is from the best of cures for magic if performed correctly (Zaad al Ma'aad). In cases of Magic Sihr and possession many patients go from A to B searching for a cure and invariably they come across the Sunnah of Hijama. Some Raaqi's offer Hijama but do not really know the science of how one affects the other. Likewise many Hijama therapists offer Hijama as a cure for Sihr Magic but have no clue regarding the Sihr. In the end many patients feel let down by both sides and are left feeling disillusioned.
How can I tell if it is Sihr or mental illness? It is difficult to determine if a person is affected by Jinn or has mental health issues as many of the symptoms are similar in nature: for example both may be suffering from nightmares and epilepsy. The key distinguishing feature between medical illnesses and those caused by Sihr Jinn etc is that when the Qur'an is recited over the affected person by a competent Raaqi, the affected peson will react, which will confirm if it is Jinn related or not.
Can a person be assessed for Magic / Jinn / Sihr issue just by listening to a Ruqyah MP3? In many cases people do not react to mp3 files alone and need a person to actually follow the Ruqyah process with them before they see a reaction. In some cases you may well get a reaction and we would always advise anyone who thinks they may have an issue, to have someone present, at least for the first time they start listening to a Ruqyah mp3. Can playing Ruqyah mp3 or CD drive away Jinn? Playing Ruqyah in itself will not do much, the person or persons affected need to actually hear and listen to the Ruqyah. Also if a person puts on Ruqyah and then is doing haram like getting drunk but hopes that it will protect them from shaytaan then they are misguided in their thinking. This is why we advise not to treat the Qur'an like a good luck charm.
When I am sleeping I feel a weight on my body? This is a common occurrence with many people and is in most cases not Jinn related there are a number of causes for this but the most common is due to the way a person sleep's. If a person sleeps with some kind of weight on their chest for example they have folded their arm across their chest or their partner puts their arm across their chest even if it is seemingly a small amount of weight it restricts the amount of oxygen the person is breathing and it leads to this sudden sensation of something on top of them and they cannot move etc.
I have extreme nightmares is it Jinn? The most common cause for nightmares is stress, certain foods or medication. If a person is fairly sure that it is not one of these then they can get themselves checked.
I know I am affected by Jinn and am getting depressed? Firstly we must know that we should not feel helpless or that our depression is somehow unique to everybody else's. Many non muslims also go through depression. For some it may be Jinn related and for others it maybe medical. The point is that the non muslims do not believe in Jinn or Qur'anic healing via Ruqyah yet they still have to cope with the issue. Some battle with depression for years and not all of them resort to medical drugs. There are many strategies designed to manage the condition of depression and we can and should utilise these too as well as Ruqyah.
I suspect something is wrong with my well-being but I feel I am far from Islam, so will Ruqyah really help me? We would strongly advise you to get in touch if your are struggling with your Islam it maybe something or it maybe nothing but at least we can eliminate certain possibilities and help you with small steps towards islam and remember no matter how far one feels away from Allah, Allah is closer to you than you jugular vein, always forgiving when his servant calls upon him as narrated in the hadith below. From Anas (ra), who said: 'I heard the Messenger of Allah (saw) say: "Allah the Almighty has said: 'O son of Adam, so long as you call upon Me, and hope in Me, I shall forgive you for what you have done, and I shall not mind. O son of Adam, were your sins to reach the clouds in the sky and were you then to ask forgiveness of Me, I shall forgive you. O son of Adam, were you to come to Me with an earthful of sins and were you then to

We hear a lot of accusations that magicians do bad things but is it really true? There are many stories we could relate but the following is a link for a couple who got caught red handed http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/south_asia/8455370.stm *
Will going to Umrah or Hajj get rid of Jinn? We see many people take this route Alhamdulilah this is a good thing but as far as a treatment for Jinn related issues or Sihr its not really a solution as people who live in Makkah and Madina also suffer from Jinn issues and they also have to seek Ruqyah.
Will reciting Surah Baqara clear the house of Jinn? Alhamduliah reciting Surah Baqara is a normal procedure to clear a house of Jinn. Also if you move into a new apartment or house one should always wash it down and recite Surah Baqara for three days as standard practice.
I have recited Surah Baqara but still hear stange noises in my house and at times feel a strange presence in my room at night? If all these things feel external to a person, then we would advise to check for stress or medication as a possible cause. But if more than one person is a witness to the events and you suspect Sihr, then firstly search your premises carefully for a taweez / charm / amulet. This should be done very slowly and carefully as if you are searching for a hair as the taweez are very small and can be hidden. The next step in addition to Surah Baqara is to do Adhaan in your house and pray in Jamaat (congregation).
I do not have access to Ajwa dates, what else can I do for protection? The following recitation from the Sunnah is especially for Sihr and will protect a person fro Fajr to Asr. Recite 100 times in Arabic upon rising in the morning: Laa 'ilaaha 'illallaahu wahdahu laa shareeka lahu, lahul-mulku wa lahul-hamdu, wa Huwa 'alaa kulli shay'in Qadeer. "None has the right to be worshipped but Allah alone, Who has no partner. His is the dominion and His is the praise and He is Able to do all things." Al-Bukhari 4/95, Muslim 4/2071.
If someone is affected by Sihr, is it with them for life?

The Holy Prophet(SAW) said :-"For every disease there is a cure so if the medicine comes upon the disease it cures it by the will of Allah, the Most High." [Saheeh Muslim - 2204] (http://ceragemtherapy.wozaonline.co.za/products) No. There is always a way that the Sihr can be undone and the Jinn extracted or killed. "For every disease there is a cure so if the medicine comes upon the disease it cures it by the will of Allah, the Most High."
Sihr and divorce The main purpose of the Sihr / magic taught at Babylon was to separate a man from his wife. In many cases of Sihr, feelings of divorce are all to easily triggered over the most trivial of disagreement between husband and wife. And both partners can acknowledge these feelings but cannot figure out what is going on until they have had Ruqyah perfomed. A practising muslim couple should be aware that one of Shaytaans key aims as mentioned in the hadith is to separate a couple. Unfortunately many practising brothers seem to treat divorce as a small matter and have divorced a number of times not realising the plot of Shaytaan. The Messenger (saw) said: "Iblees has placed his throne above the water (sea) and then he sends his detachments. The closest of them to him are those who cause the greatest trial. One of them comes back to him and says: I did such and such. Shaytaan replies: You have not done anything. Then another comes to him and says: I did not leave him alone until I caused division between him and his wife." He (saw) said: "So Shaytaan brings him closer to himself and says: You did well". [Saheeh Muslim]
I am getting bad thoughts (Waswasaa) about Allah and his Messenger (saw) and Islam. Many people suffer from these whispers - there is no power and no strength except with Allah. The difficulties and distress that the believer may suffer as a result of these waswasaa, may be included in the hadeeth of the Prophet (saw), "No Muslim suffers tiredness, exhaustion, worry, grief, annoyance or distress, not even a thorn that pricks him, but Allah will expiate some of his sins thereby." [Bukhaaree 2573] The Prophet (saw) taught us two important things: 1 - "To turn to Allah and seek His protection and to beseech Him, for He is the most Generous: And if an evil whisper comes to you from Shaytaan, then seek refuge with Allah." [Al-A'raaf 7:200] The way to deal with waswaas is to seek refuge with Allah a great deal from the accursed Shaytaan, and especially to recite al-Mi'wadhatayn (the last two Surahs of the Qur'an), for there is nothing better with which a person may seek refuge with Allah. In the book of Ibn al-Sunni it is narrated via 'Aa'ishah (ra), "Whoever suffers from this waswaas, let him say 'Aamantu Billaahi wa bi rusulihi (I believe in Allah and in His Messengers), three times.

The Holy Prophet(SAW) said :-"For every disease there is a cure so if the medicine comes upon the disease it cures it by the will of Allah, the Most High." [Saheeh Muslim - 2204] (http://ceragemtherapy.wozaonline.co.za/products) It is narrated that Uthmaan ibn Abi'l-'Aas said: "The Shaytaan was interfering with my prayer and recitation of Qur'an. He [the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) ] said: 'That is a devil called Khanzab, so seek refuge with Allah from him and spit drily to your left three times.' I did that, and Allah took him away from me." [Muslim 2003] 2 - To put a stop to this matter and turn away from it and to keep ourselves busy with other useful things. The companions of the Prophet (saw) came to him complaining about the doubts and waswaas that they were suffering. In Saheeh Muslim it is narrated that Abu Hurayrah (ra) said: "Some of the companions of the Messenger of Allah (saw) came to him and said, 'We find in our hearts things that none of us dares utter.' He said, 'Do you really find that?' They said, 'Yes.' He said, 'That is clear faith.'" (2/153). What is meant by his saying 'That is clear faith' is that their hatred of that waswasa and their rejecting it was a clear sign of faith. The Shaytaan only whispers to people of faith; as for the kaafir he comes to him however he wants and does not limit himself to waswaas, rather he toys with him however he wishes. And you should know if the Shaytaan manages to instill some doubts in a person's heart concerning Allah and so on, he should not worry about that, because he is only suffering these doubts because of the faith in his heart. The person who is not a believer does not care whether he doubts or not; the one who suffers because of these doubts and whispers is a believer. The Prophet (saw) said, "That is clear faith," (narrated by Muslim, no. 132), meaning that what the Shaytaan casts into your hearts of such matters is a reflection of clear faith, i.e., sincere faith. He described it as sincere faith, because the one who experiences these doubts is not happy about them and should not pay any attention to them; they grieve him and he does not want them. The Shaytaan only comes to hearts which are filled with faith in order to destroy it; he does not come to hearts that are devoid of faith, because they are already ruined. It was said to Ibn 'Abbaas or Ibn Mas'ood that the Jews said, "We do not experience waswaas during our prayers." He said, "Of course, what would the Shaytaan do with a heart that is already ruined?!"
Music addiction and Jinn related depression One of the key signs of possession is that a person is addicted to music and cannot generally go without it for a few days without getting upset. There are many things that can contribute to rapid state changes in a person such as certain foods, drugs etc and most people are careful of them. However music which is an external stimulus that can cause a person to experience emotional highs and lows. And when it is withdrawn it can cause them to crash and this is often ignored and overlooked. For a Jinn to have an adverse influence over a praying muslim, is normally difficult. However if Shaytaan can change a person's state or feeling rapidly from slow to fast or high to low etc, the person has less control over his mind and his body and Shaytaan's influence increases. A simple example is alcohol. When a person drinks Prepared by: Saleem Butt House No. 341, Block F, new Katarian Market Satellite Town Rawalpindi, Punjab, Pakistan. Email :

The Holy Prophet(SAW) said :-"For every disease there is a cure so if the medicine comes upon the disease it cures it by the will of Allah, the Most High." [Saheeh Muslim - 2204] (http://ceragemtherapy.wozaonline.co.za/products) alcohol, their state is changed and it makes it easier for that person to commit haraam whereas normally they might not have even considered it. Similarly music has the affect of rapidly changing a persons state. Some people may claim listening to music makes them feel happy. This may seem true but there are other types of music capable of producing different states and emotions in a person. Such as blues music which can change a person's state to sad. Rap music can change a persons state to aggressive etc. So what we would like to emphasize is not the actual emotion itself but the fact that music is capable of changing a persons state and changing it rapidly. Very few people can listen to music in a detached manner. And if they could, what would be the point as they would not 'enjoy' it. A changing of state is just the beginning for some people. It affects them to the point that they become in a 'trance' with it and the early sign of trance is moving their body hypnotically to it without realising and repeating the words. Therefore someone who is having state change issues such as bipolar depression (i.e. swinging feelings of high and low) - the last thing they need is something that contributes to such state changes. In terms of Ruqyah and Jinn we know from experience that many people get affected by Jinn when in trance like states. In fact most magicians, before they try to do magic on a person, try to put them in to trance like states. In terms of music you can see at concerts and also in so called Qawaali session's, people going into trances, getting up dancing and then collapsing. To this point we have not mentioned anything in regards to music being halaal or haraam just what I hope any logical individual would agree with. However I will mention now that perhaps we should take note that music is often accompanied by words and those words generally do not speak of Allah. And so a person repeats those words and the Angels write them down. So Shaytaan gets a double victory here by firstly stopping us from saying the words of Allah i.e. we should be reciting as much Qur'an as we can or doing the Dhikr of Allah. And secondly by us now doing the Dhikr of useless stuff which may actually be sinful. So we advise anyone afflicted with music addiction to replace it with Dhikr, for this is the greatest thing that may protect a person. In the hadith it says that Allah commanded Yahya (as) to enjoin five things upon the Children of Israel, one of which was: "I command you to remember Allah, for this is like a man who is being pursued by the enemy, then he comes to a strong fortress and saves himself from them. Similarly a man cannot save himself from his enemy except by means of dhikr." [Al-Waabil al-Sayyib, 60.]
Show hows certain "Amulets" (taweez) being promoted for use by certain Muslims are in fact rooted in the Kabbalah - an ancient Black Magic that currently is used in Judaism and Freemasonry - which actually goes back to ancient Egypt and Babylon. Contains pages on magic and kabbalah and compares them to so-called 'Islamic' Taweez and Naqsh. (Amulets and Charts). *

Taweez treated like a good luck charm? In most cases what is sold or given by so called baba's / peers etc is nothing more than a piece of paper with a few ayats and perhaps some numbers and charts on it. Anyone could write one and nothing would occur, as you need to be in touch with the Jinn for them to have any effect. A few cheap magicians are in touch with the shayateen / Jinn and can do a few tricks. Such as telling you a few personal details about yourself, to make you think he must be pious. This trick in terms of magic / sihr, is one of the most basic ones and many nonmuslim magicians can also perform this trick such as some gypsy women. Many people are under the impression that the taweez they wear contains verses of the Quran and so will protect them from "evil spirits". Although most of the taweez's we have seen tend to be from the sources of Jewish magic i.e. numbers and charts mixed with Qur'an. Even so, if we were to accept that someone is wearing a Qur'anic taweez, we find the Muslims are treating this just as the non-muslims treat a good luck charm. We see people who don't even perform the basic daily prayers and who go to night clubs etc, all with this Qur'anic taweez around their neck. Yet somehow these people think that this taweez that the 'peer saab' gave them will protect them or their children from evil! Some Muslims even grab onto their taweez whilst in the casino hoping to win! We hope we have clarified for you that the concept of taweez is no different to a good luck charm. The correct approach is to recite the dua's the way the Prophet (saw) taught us for protection - and what could be more powerful than the dua the Prophet (saw) taught his Ummah?
Can Taweez protect from Magic? There are a number of hadith of the Prophet (saw) relating to the wearing of talismans and amulets etc which confirm the fact that the Prophet (saw) did not like them. Also we point out from the first Prophet Adam (as) as to the last Prophet Muhammad (saw) not a single Prophet ever wore a taweez or taught any one of their companions to make one. In fact even when Moses (as) was sent to pharaoh and fought the best magicians known to mankind he was not ordered to wear a taweez.
Can Taweez be worn for small children to protect them? Even when Moses as a small baby was put into the river by his mother no one advised to put a taweez around his neck to protect him from drowning or cold water or any bad luck as such. Ibrahim as did not put a taweez around the neck of Ismael or Ishaac...Nor did Yaqub as around the neck of Yusuf as despite his beauty to protect him from nazar or ayn, or to protect him from the jealousy of his brothers. Finally our beloved Prophet Muhammad (saw) the savouir of mankind and a mercy to all the worlds did not put a taweez on the necks of any of his children nor his grandchildren Hasan and Hussain. This is what is known from the Anbiya the prophets who delivered islam to the people, as for the statements by certain scholars in later generations. You can make your own mind up.

The Holy Prophet(SAW) said :-"For every disease there is a cure so if the medicine comes upon the disease it cures it by the will of Allah, the Most High." [Saheeh Muslim - 2204] (http://ceragemtherapy.wozaonline.co.za/products) There is also another serious aspect for people searching for a cures to Jinn, (Jadoo, Jadu) Sihr, Black magic etc, which is that they themselves do not know or understand what the magician is doing. So they are never sure he is not doing something to make them subservient to them. In the same respect as a drug dealer, most magicians will usually give the first dose for free, as they know once they have you hooked, you will find it extremely difficult to get away and this is how many people have lost fortunes.
I have been advised to recite a Surah or just the names of Allah X amount of times. On the face of it this type of thing appears fine but one should be careful that these people then start advising to recite the names of Allah 100,000 times and Surahs Falaq and Nas 70,000 times etc. Beware this is usually the first sign of the innovators as no one would be able to complete these tasks in one go. Then you would have to refer back to them and sure enough you would be informed of some pious Shaikh or 'Peer' etc, who can achieve this feat and of course will charge you for the privilege. These people are often obsessed with numbers and these numbers tend to be all over their literature as if its the number that is going to give the Shifaa (cure). Below is a some logical evidence regarding these kinds of numbers - if you were ever to attempt such a thing. 1 hour = 60 mins and 1 Min = 60 Seconds so 60x60 = 3600 sec's per hour. If we say you could recite both Surah Falaq and Nas in 2 seconds which is totally unjust to the Surahs but for arguments sake. So 3600/2 = 1800 A person would only be able to recite them 1800 times in one hour. And if we said they had a night of 10 hours it woud still only amount to 18,000 times. Still 62,000 short of the innovators requirement. As you can see this is impossible. May Allah protect us from Shaytaans suggestions dressed as piety and keep us firmly upon the true piety of the Sunnah.
Calling upon the Names of Allah Some people advise that you should say 'Ya rahmaan' or 'Ya raheem' or 'Ya Jabaar' etc 100 times or 200 times each, for a cure or ailment. If you download any Ruqyah, you will find that many of the reciters call upon Allah (swt) using his beautiful names. And if you have ever watched an imaam in taraweeh prayer making dua in Makkah, you will find they also call upon Allah's names. But you will find that after saying Allah's name they then ask for forgiveness or health or whatever. But imagine if you are only sayinh 'Oh Allah' (swt) 10 times etc and then another name of Allah (swt) - this now becomes gets ridiculous. Because you are actually calling Allah by his name or names but then not asking for, or saying anything. Like someone may say 'ya Allah ya Allah ya Rahmaan' etc and then say 'forgive me' which makes sense. But if they simply repeat 'Ya Allah, Ya Allah, Ya Allah' - it doesn't make sense. The Holy Prophet(SAW) said :-"For every disease there is a cure so if the medicine comes upon the disease it cures it by the will of Allah, the Most High." [Saheeh Muslim - 2204] (http://ceragemtherapy.wozaonline.co.za/products) Perhaps a simpler way to look at this or any worship for that matter is that if I suggested you pray with one leg in the air and one hand in the air you would say no I hope! Or at least ask me for some evidence from the Sunnah. Although there is nothing wrong with praying in itself and I am telling you that you should pray this way 20 times a day - you recognise that no-one has actually ever prayed in this way. So in the same way these people although they are using the names of Allah (swt), no one from the Prophet (saw) or the companions ever used the names of Allah (swt) in this way. Below is a narration where the companions did use the name of Allah (swt), I hope it clarifies matter. One of the treatments prescribed in Islam is to recite the dua's narrated from the Prophet (saw), to relieve worries and distress. For example, the saheeh hadith narrated from Ibn Masood (ra): "There is no-one who is afflicted by distress and grief and says: 'Allaahumma inni 'abduka ibn 'abdika ibn amatija naasyati bi yadika, maada fiyya hukmuka, 'adlun fiyya qadaa'uka. As'aluka bi kulli ismin huwa laka sammayta bihi nafsaka aw anzaltahu fi kitaabika aw 'allamtahu ahadan min khalqika aw ista'tharta bihi fi 'ilm il-ghayb 'indaka an taj'al al-Qur'aana al-'Azeema rabee' qalbi wa noor sadri wa jalaa' huzni wa dhihaab hammi. (O Allah, I am Your slave, son of Your slave, son of Your maidservant; my forelock is in Your hand, Your command over me is forever executed and Your decree over me is just. I ask You by every NAME belonging to You which You have named Yourself with, or revealed in Your Book, or You taught to any of Your creation, or You have preserved in the knowledge of the Unseen with You, that You make the Holy Qur'an the life of my heart and the light of my breast, and a departure for my sorrow and a release for my anxiety),' but Allah will take away his distress and grief." * Disclaimer: Please note Hijama Clinic takes no responsibility for information contained on external links from this website. Talks Below are a number of talks dedicated to dealing with life for people who are affected by Jinn related issues. You will find the talks immensely beneficial as they provide you with beliefs and practical strategies to succeed in your life and in your Ruqyah. People's reactions vary in how they cope with being diagnosed with this type of issue. For some people it can be quite daunting and depressing at first, to just accept that something like this has happened to them - along with shaytaan prompting them with thoughts like 'why me?'. Other people realise the problem is there but would rather pretend its not. We believe a balance must be maintained. Firstly we need to acknowledge there is an issue and secondly we need to keep it in perspective and not give it too much importance to the point that it completely dominates our life.
Trusting in Allah "...And whosoever fears Allah and keeps his duty to Him, He will make a way for him to get out (from every difficulty). And He will provide him from (sources) he never could imagine. And whosoever puts his trust in Allah, and then He will suffice him. Verily, Allah will accomplish his purpose. Indeed Allah has set a measure for all things." [65:2-3] As a muslim you are blessed to have a form of treatment that others have no idea about. Many non-muslims are also affected by Jinn related issues, however they do not have recourse to ruqyah and therefore never get to the root cause. There are many practical strategies to help them deal with issues such as anger, addiction, violence etc. Islam has also provided us with many of these strategies and I would exhort you to listen to the talks on this page and extract as much as you can from each lecture. Please do not judge the talks just by the titles as they contain far more benefit than the short title describes so please do not skip them. These talks will increase your Emaan and contribute towards your Ruqyah cure. The Holy Prophet(SAW) said :-"For every disease there is a cure so if the medicine comes upon the disease it cures it by the will of Allah, the Most High." [Saheeh Muslim - 2204] (http://ceragemtherapy.wozaonline.co.za/products) Meridians of the body affect every organ and physiological system inside of us. They are invisible to the human eye, yet without them we could not sustain life. In the same way that arteries carry blood, meridians carry energy, often referred to as chi, qi or prana. Meridians are our body’s “energy bloodstream”: they bring vitality and balance, remove energy blockages, stagnations an d imbalances, adjust metabolism and determine the speed and form of cellular change. Their flow is as critical as the flow of blood; your life and health depend on both. Meridians of the body affect all major systems including: immune, nervous, endocrine, circulatory, respiratory, digestive, skeletal, muscular and the lymphatic system. If a meridian’s energy is obstructed or unregulated, the system it feeds on is jeopardized, and disease results.
There are 12 major meridians in the body: • Lung meridian • Large intestine meridian • Spleen meridian • Stomach meridian • Heart meridian • Small intestine meridian • Bladder meridian • Kidney meridian • Pericardium (Circulation/Sex) meridian • Triple Warmer meridian • Liver meridian • Gallbladder meridian These major meridians of the body are responsible for nourishing their corresponding organ and the other organs around them, fueling and feeding them with energy. Each meridian plays a specific and integral role in their organs health. Deficient meridian energy and excess meridian energy are both problematic and can cause damage to that meridian’s organ system.

The Holy Prophet(SAW) said :-"For every disease there is a cure so if the medicine comes upon the disease it cures it by the will of Allah, the Most High." [Saheeh Muslim - 2204] (http://ceragemtherapy.wozaonline.co.za/products) There are certain places along the meridians where energy pools, making the chi, qi or prana more accessible there than elsewhere. These “energy hotspots” are more familiarly referred to as acupuncture points and at these specific points energy can be manipulated – either increasing or decreasing the flow. When energy flowing through the meridians becomes blocked or stagnant, or, when too much energy is overwhelming a meridian these acupuncture points can be accessed to clear blockages and remove unwanted excess or stagnant energy. Often times acupuncture and acupressure techniques are used to relieve energetic imbalances in the meridians; the ancient Chinese practice of Qi Gong is often employed as well. Acupuncture and acupressure both use the same meridians and points in their healing, the difference is that acupuncture uses needles while acupressure uses both soft and firm touches on the points to generate the flow of energy. Qi Gong is somewhat different. Similar to acupuncture and acupressure, qi gong is also a form of Traditional Chinese Medicine, however, qi gong uses breathwork, gentle movement and meditation to cleanse and strengthen the meridians and the energy running through them. All three techniques of cleansing and balancing the energy flow through the meridians are forms of preventative medicine. This does not mean acupuncture, acupressure and qi gong cannot be used as treatments, in fact this is quite the contrary. These are the traditional techniques used in Chinese Medicine to cure people suffering from all types of diseases and many westerners have begun turning to these treatments as well. This is Eastern medicine. Medicine that has been around for thousands of years. I’m not denying that sometimes it is necessary to go the Western route, and that surgery and antibiotics have saved millions of lives. But, living a joyful, healthy existence is at the core of every human being; it is part of our birthright. Why suffer through emotional and physical pain when a life of joy and health is as easy as balancing your meridians and refocusing your energy? The Holy Prophet(SAW) said :-"For every disease there is a cure so if the medicine comes upon the disease it cures it by the will of Allah, the Most High." [Saheeh Muslim - 2204] (http://ceragemtherapy.wozaonline.co.za/products) Sunlight consists of different wave lengths of light. The complete electromagnetic spectrum consists of visible and invisible rays. The visible rays are red, orange, yellow, green, indigo, blue, and violet in color, known as rainbow colors. When combined they produce the "white light" that we experience every day. The invisible rays are Ultra Violet, X-rays, Gamma, Cosmic, Microwave, Long Wave, Electrical Wave, and Infrared. Infrared waves are between visible light and the microwave rays. Our sun produces most of its energy output in the infrared segment of the spectrum. Infrared light is in this spectrum's lower range, and although its rays aren't visible to the naked eye, it generates the warmth we feel on bright sunny days. The wavelength of infrared waves vary from 0.76 micron to 1,000 microns. Near infrared (0.76 to 1.5microns), mid infrared (1.5 to 4 microns), and far infrared (4 to 1,000 microns). While these rays share the attributes listed below, they are most noticeable in far infrared waves. Radiation: Infrared rays radiate or spread from a localized source. Penetration: Unlike visible light, infrared rays can deeply penetrate skin and the underlying tissues up to 3.75 - 7 cm (approx. 1.5 to 2.8 inches) Resonance: Infrared rays naturally generate heat by causing the body's molecules to rapidly vibrate against each other.
Infrared & health: The relationship One of the characteristics of Far-Infrared Rays (FIR) is how easily this light is able to penetrate through human tissue. When this occurs, a natural resonance is created, which has many beneficial properties. Dr. Toshiko Yamazzaki, M.D. Author of “The Science of Far-Infrared Therapies” reports that one of the reasons FIR has such beneficial results in a variety of illnesses is its ability to remove toxins, which happen to be the core of many health problems. For example, when toxic gases such as carbon dioxide & sulphur dioxide or toxic substances such as lead or mercury meet large water molecules, they are encapsulated by clusters of water in the body. When these toxins accumulate, blood circulation is blocked and cellular energy is impaired. However, when 7 to 14 micron FIR rays are applied, the water begins to vibrate breaking the ion bonds of the atoms

[Saheeh Muslim - 2204] (http://ceragemtherapy.wozaonline.co.za/products) held together by the water molecules. As the breakdown of the bond occurs, the encapsulated gases and other toxic substances are released. In other words, when far infrared rays (FIR) penetrate the skin, they come into contact with proteins, collagen, fats and water molecules. By stimulating microvibrations far infrared cause a thermal reaction which elevates tissue temperatures. The human body then reacts by dilating all the blood vessels regardless of size. Tissues are revitalized because of the improved (micro & macro) circulation. FIR therapy has been used for over thirty years to treat patients with various health problems and have exhibited positive results. These conditions include but are not limited to: TMJ, arthritis, high blood pressure, benign prostrate hypertrophy, high cholesterol, pain, hemorrhoids, cystitis, gastritis, asthma and bronchitis, sore throat, muscle tension, muscle spasms, adhesions on cold hands and feet, poor skin tone, acne, body odor, eczema and psoriasis. FIR light therapy is considered to be harmless and can be found on the market today. Studies have shown that the patients have displayed minimal to almost no side effects and produced various positive results. It does so by reducing the sensitivity of the neural pathways of the nervous system, triggering the body to release endorphins, natural morphine-like substances known to block and reduce pain. FIR can actually increase the regenerative ability of the body tissue. It also reduces abnormalities in nervous system and helps the autonomous system function at optimum level. Scientists continue to study infrared wavelengths of light improve their understanding of its therapeutic effects on our bodies. FIR is rapidly gaining worldwide recognition and acclaim as a complimentary medical and alternative therapy treatment.

Circulation promotes good health An important principle of traditional Chinese medicine is that good blood circulation promotes good health. Conversely, an obstructed blood flow will increase the likelihood of disease and pain. Other ancient Asian therapies such as the Japanese "Palm Therapy" and China's "Qi GongTherapy" are also based on the premise that the human body itself, is capable of radiating Far Infrared rays. Infrared therapy has proven to be effective because its "hot rays" exhibit analgesic, antiinflammatory and anti-spasmodic capabilities. Therefore, Far Infrared products are useful in the treatment of sub-acute or chronic inflammations, and for trauma, scar adhesions and nerve pain.
Does poor lighting risk health? Yes, according to renowned photo biologist John Ott, who is a pioneer in the study of the biological effects of light. He has discovered that light containing the full wavelength spectrum found in natural sunlight is necessary for our optimum well-being. In fact, he contends that inadequate light poses a serious health threat. Most artificial lighting, such as incandescent or fluorescent, doesn't have the complete balanced spectrum of natural sunlight, Dr. Ott believes poor light causes a condition which he calls, "mal-illumination." He suggests insufficient light, could be as Prepared by: Saleem Butt House No. 341, Block F, new Katarian Market Satellite Town Rawalpindi, Punjab, Pakistan. Email :

[Saheeh Muslim - 2204] (http://ceragemtherapy.wozaonline.co.za/products) devastating to the body as malnutrition. Whenever vital wavelengths are missing in the light we receive, our bodies are unable to completely absorb certain nutrients. Consequently, our body is malnourished, even though we are eating properly. Dr. Ott thinks "mal illumination" can cause depression, fatigue and impaired immune function. Other symptoms may be skin damage and loss of hair. Dr. John Downing, of the Preventative Medical Center in San Rafael, California has been conducting clinical studies on the effects of light for 20 years. He states, "We cause or worsen a wide range of health problems by spending 90% of our lives indoors under inadequate lighting conditions." The author, Dr. Jacob Liberman, of LIGHT MEDICINE OF THE FUTURE, describes the body as a living photocell, stimulated and regulated by light. "Our lives, our health and well-being are truly dependent on the sun. The human body is nourished directly by the stimulation of sunlight or indirectly nourished by eating foods, drinking fluids, or breathing air that's been vitalized by the sun's light energy." Dependency on Light: For centuries, scientists have known that plants are dependent upon sunlight for photosynthesis. However, only recently have they recognized similarities between humans and plants in their dependence upon light. The sun's rays affect vital processes in both people and plants. In humans, photons are the catalyst for the production of sugars, fats, and proteins. Photons stimulate our endocrine system, our metabolic processes and enzyme reactions as well as activities in the brain. When this connection is disturbed, disorders follow. Enzymes in the body's cells, which should normally be activated, fail to receive the proper wave lengths of light. Instead, the cells remain dormant, and are unable to begin normal, cellular metabolic reactions. This results in lower cellular energy, glandular insufficiencies and a lessened ability to burn fats and eliminate toxins.
