SYNOPSIS INTRODUCTION  National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) is a fashion institute in India. It was set up in 1986 under the aegis of the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India and is an institution of design, management and technology for the international fashion business.  It offers four-year bachelor and two-year master programmes in the areas of Design, Management and Technology. ABOUT BHOPAL  Bhopal is the capital of the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh and the administrative headquarters of Bhopal district and Bhopal division. Bhopal is known as the City of Lakes for its various natural as well as artificial lakes and is also one of the greenest cities in India.  Bhopal has a humid subtropical climate, with cool, dry winters, a hot summer and a humid monsoon season. Summers start in late March and go on till mid-June, the average temperature being around 30 °C (86 °F), with the peak of summer in May, when the highs regularly exceed 40 °C (104 °F). The monsoon starts in late June and ends in late September

 This project will help to put Bhopal as a fashion hub at national level.  This project will be the combination of art, architecture and design and thus creating a landmark for the city like Bhopal. PROMOTOR  MINISTRY OF TEXTILES, GOVERNMENT OF INDIA  The government of Madhya Pradesh has approved additional budget of Rs. 1,54,50,000 for the establishment of a National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) in BHOURI village in Bhopal. AIMS AND OBJECTIVES  To create environment suitable for the particular need of the institution.  To design space in such a way as to encourage interaction of people for exchange of ideas and learning.  It must depict Indian culture, traditions, aesthetic sensitivity and heritage to create an Indian idiom of design.  The institution would act as a functional centre of creativeness, education and promotion era for fashion goods.

 To unite knowledge, as in an ideal campus, by creating such spaces between people and academic disciplines, giving it a theme, inuring to the regional context.  To define distinct settings for social interaction and strengthen the unity of the entire campus by scale, form, color, texture, light and other architectural characteristics of the spaces.  To create an environment which is ecologically, culturally, and mentally suited for the absorption of the knowledge to be perceived and to bring the inner self and talent to the surface.  Create opportunities for the students and young artists to develop their potential through study and performance.  The institute will provide comprehensive and state-ofthe-art infrastructure and equipment to impart both practical and theoretical training.  The facilities and services offered to the students will allow them the freedom to experiment and generate creative ideas.  Lively and vibrant campuses will complement the facilities that equal the best in the world at NIFT. this NIFT building, which will house fully equipped facilities. SITE The Government of Madhya Pradesh has allotted 29 acres plot at Bhouri, on the outskirts of the Bhopal city. It is close to IISER and SPA Bhopal campus (proposed site), etc. institutional campuses. Proximity of site  Gandhinagar Bus stand – approx 9km  Railway station – approx. 20km  Raja bhoj Airport- approx. 13km  Bhopal city – approx. 12km

 Landscaping  The landscaping is an integral part of institute designing. NIFT is an institute which requires students to be creative and original in their ideas.
