Download the latest version from our Download section. The file should be named OpenWarfare MW X.X.X.NNNN where X.X.X represents the release number, NNNN the subversion number on which the release was built, and the language in which the release was built.

Uncompress the .ZIP file in a local folder on your PC (do not upload the files to the server yet). Files will be uncompressed inside a folder named openwarfare. Now, perform the following 5 steps and you should be running OpenWarfare in no time:

1. Adjust the values in the configuration file ow.cfg: Adjust the server information in the "SERVER INFORMATION" section in ow.cfg. Adjust the RCON password and the password of the server in case you want to run a private server for now. Adjust the maximum number of players to play in the server (remember that the Live Broadcast feature can show up to 24 players in the game so 25 should be good for 12 vs 12 + a game broadcaster). Adjust the URL for the redirect server to point to the correct server so players will download the mod quickly once they connect to the server.

2. Adjust the value in the configuration file configs/server/others.cfg: Enter if you know it now your GUID in the master variable scr_server_overall_admin_guids so it will apply to all the other variables that require the admin GUID. If you have more than one enter them separated by semicolons.

3. Adjust the value in the configuration file configs/server/advancedacp.cfg: Replace the value 12345678 with your GUID in the variable scr_aacp_guids_access_1 so you can use the Advanced Admin Control Panel in the game to switch maps or other tasks without the need to leave the game (remember to bind the key to call the AACP under Multiplayer Controls).

4. Create your own logo and replace the file clanlogo.iwi inside the folder "images" in z_openwarfare.iwd (you can also replace the sponsors logos in the same way if you are going to use the sponsors functionality). Once you have your new image just open the file z_openwarfare.iwd with

in the same way if you are going to use the sponsors functionality). Once you have your new image just open the file z_openwarfare.iwd with WinRar and drag and drop the new file into the folder "images".

5. Now, you are ready to upload all the files into your server. Create a new directory for the mod under the "mods" folder in the server and upload all the files distributed in the .ZIP file. Remember to also upload the files into the redirect server. The redirect server only needs the files mod.ff, and z_openwarfare.iwd.

6. Create a new command line to start the server pointing to the mod. A standard command line for a server on the Internet might look something like this:

"\iw3mp.exe" +set fs_game mods/openwarfare +set dedicated 1 +set sv_punkbuster 1 +set net_ip X.X.X.X +set net_port NNNNN +exec ow.cfg +map_rotate (where X.X.X.X is the IP address of your server and NNNNN is the port where the server will listen for connections) _________________
