Description
The Ninety Nine Beautiful Names of Allah (Mighty and Majestic) Part Two April 2011 By Arfan Shah (Sheikhy Notes) From the Subtle to the Responder
المجيب- اللطيف Sheikh Muhammad Al-Yaqoubi Read fatiha for people of sham, for our parents, to our teachers, sheikhs We were supposed to finish the course I’ll try to squeeze in as much as possible – if not then we’ll have a third session I was expecting a four day course –we may not finish it We’ll have a third section if we do not finish it
اللطيف To Subtle/the gentle To summarise the 99 names of Allah (the Exalted) in one word or one sentence is difficult Latif means kind according to some people Latif is someone kind, gentle, subtle, This is some of the apparent meanings of the words These are four aspects put together
To explain Latif as subtle is that he handling people’s affairs – beyond the reach of peoples understanding and comprehension to the events in our live – his decree is very subtle People do not understand why things happening to them According to their understanding it is wrong Sometimes it takes ten or twenty years to understand Look at the Story of Musa (upon him peace) – born in a time the news reached the Pharaoh that a newborn will destroy him and so he ordered that newborns be killed. His mother is inspired to put him into a cradle into the river – look at the event and is confuses – no mother would sacrifice her child Literally she sent him to the unseen and could lose him People would not understand Allah (the Exalted) arranged things to help Musa (upon him peace) – then made his mother look after him – in the house of Pharaoh – these events cannot be understood in the beginning as he grew up in the palace of his enemy – he was expelled – got married then came back – this is the example of the subtlety of Allah When Allah (the Exalted) does something there is no way we can understand them Our job is to surrender to events – we do not object or rebel – we look for possible interpretations in the Quran and Sunnah We may not understand it for a number of years It happened to me when I came from morocco to Damascus – they confiscated books that I had brought. It took us a long time to ding the books. A student, without my knowledge, had brought books because they wanted to check the titles they held them back. When I got the second set of books they asked me about the first so I got them as well. The second set of books was taken so I could get the first. I had 240 kilos coming into Malaga airport and all I had was an address and a phone – the luggage was lost and no one was waiting at the airport it was a mistake. They were expecting me the next day. No one was answering the number; the driver said if you had the luggage it would have taken three cars. The address was wrong and when they found it was in the middle of nowhere. The taxi driver wanted to drop us off anywhere – the price was 32,000 I gave 40,000. They brought the luggage the next day without any need to carry anything. Allah (the Exalted) saved us from carrying troublesome luggage These are examples of things that can go wrong at a time You have to believe that you are in the hands of Allah (the Exalted) It may be wrapped in obstacles and difficulties – it’s difficult to see it until the day of judgement – how much Allah loves you, drew you close and forgave you
That was the case of Musa what about Yusuf? (Upon them both peace) Son of a prophet? Could he be let down? Let his child be kidnapped? Yusuf was thrown into a well by his half brothers Who would believe what happened to him When Yusuf (upon him peace) was send to jail he said, “My Lord is Latif whoever he pleases.” Allah (the Exalted) is subtle with what he wants It comes clear after a period of twenty years – he was thrown into a well for that reason, sold, enslaved, imprisoned so he could be the prime minister According to the people this is crazy but it you do This is the best care for prisoners – if they are awaiting release Muhammad Hassan said Ya Latif 1666 times a day and was released in two days after he was about to be deported Brother Umar did not have any children for nine years and got a baby boy The power of dhikr is beyond imagination – having the right dua’ is the key and you can get it done Some scholars have written books on this If you recite it then you can get more provision – the harshness can be changed The one who hides gentleness in their opposites The men of Allah say calamites are divine gifts To see the wisdom Allah (the Exalted) opens channels for you to request You need Allah (the Exalted) in every moment and it appears not in prosperity but in adversity To show you that you are servant not a master No matter how strong you think you are Allah (the Exalted) is more powerful Allah opened you a channel so you could call him Make dua’ because he allowed you utter his name, call upon him, and call his name Allah (the Exalted) does not let any believer down The poor in this life are the kings in the afterlife People are not arranged as they are in the Dunya – we don’t know the position of people These positions are temporary
There was an untidy companion who people rejected but he would have his supplication granted Allah (the Exalted) has subtle care for every one of us One of our children fell into an empty swimming pool – when we found out we thought he was joking – he was unhurt Ismail (his son) fell off his bike into an empty swimming pool – he was unhurt Other people might fall slightly and have to stay in bed for a week The basic level is 129 times in the wird 16641 to release someone Disobedience to ones parents can cause loss of provision Tibb Al-Nawawi – start by looking at ones food The Awliya say that those who are punished in this life is a sign that Allah (the Exalted) loves them – so they do not get punished in the afterlife – this is not punishment The Awliya are doing it now, for days, months to push the calamities away from sham/Syria A whole was missed by secret service and that was the barakah of the Wali in that area Write down about something bad that happened to you and it turned out good – like applying for a job at a business that goes bankrupt If you want to be upset, be upset if you miss the prayer and not about what Allah (the Exalted) does to you –Allah (the Exalted) does not betray you Send them to sacred knowledge - Someone could make a booklet Allah (the Exalted) gives you better than what you give Sometimes we have hardship for twenty years – we look for the reasons of things They are an impact of the harm from you by blocking the Dunya One of the causes of a lack of provision is disobeying people The treatment takes out the reason for the hardship إن مع العسر يسر “With hardship comes ease.” Quran 94:5 According to the grammar there is one type of hardship and two types of ease The hardship is the same but the ease is different Sometimes things change in the blink of an eye – to their opposites sometimes
Have trust in Allah (the Exalted) when things are tough Allah (the Exalted) defends his servants Is not Allah (the Exalted) enough for his servants Put it in your phone when you turn it on They call send all their black magic to me – I do not care A garbage man carries an Id for the royal palace (he has pride in his job) what about the servants of Allah? Don’t be afraid and do be upset – be upset for the sake of Allah (the Exalted) I feel pit for people with so many problems – from around the world – for many reasons I feel pity for so many Muslims Bilal was tortured but he because was saying Ahad, Ahad (the One) it made him forget the punishment – he did not feel it as he was focused on Allah There is a huge difference between asking and complaining – when making dua’ Our dua’s are complaints not requests – we ask but with hearts that says out of your wisdom Ask do not complain Allah (the Exalted) loves us more than we love him His love is pure to us Look how Allah (the Exalted) took care of us in our wombs The gifts of Allah (the Exalted) are innumerable – despite our problems Our love to Allah (the Exalted) is not the same as Allah’s love to us
Session two: day one
الخبير The all aware In a hadith it states that the things that he told his ummah to hold onto was the Book Quran and the Prophetic lineage
I had a dream advising me to write about Ahl Al-Bayt – this is the only way to being the Shia invasion out The Ahl Al-Bayt (Prophetic household) are Sunni’s No one single Sunni will become a Shia because of what they have but they misguide them by saying the Sunni’s do not love Ahl al-Bayt Imam Ahmed and Jafar As-Sadiq are two Imams’s whose followers lied about them Al-Khabir can give you signs of the future Istikharah does not tell you the unseen it gives you signs Allah (the Exalted) wants us to live in this world according to its laws This is the best request for the unseen During Umrah I saw what was happening in Syria and Libya but I forgot when I woke up Allah (the Exalted) wants people to strive Sometimes signs that Awliya get are wrong information on the second tablet, this can be erased, but not on the lawh al-Malfuz (the preserved tablet) – dua can affect the second tablet Abdul-Aziz Ad-Dhabagh was allowed by Allah (the Exalted) to read the hearts of the people and he could not bear it – he stood observing people at Bab Al-Futuh (one of the gates of the old city of Fez) – he could not bear it then he asked to remove the ability Sometimes we teach people for years but if I knew he did not respect me I would not teach him If we see people’s secrets we might lose hope Students who have bad adab might pass the knowledge onto someone with good adab We teach to preserve the religion There are traces of lies and deception - in insincere students We do not teach for gratefulness as we may not teach people Sura Zilzalah (99) read it ten times then it tell the news of the so and so when doing it with istikharah then got to bed, with wudhu facing the Qibla – not after watching a movie – pure mind helps receiving the news – when you say Ikhbarah say the name of what you are doing You have permission to do it This is supportive element with great news of great events Not a replacement but an extra element Ask people of remembrance if you know not
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) received revelation in the form of good dreams for six months Do not seek what you have no access to we are banned from seeking the unseen Some people dream of flying with a certain dhikr You are not asked about tomorrows knowledge because you are not in tomorrow you are in today You should know that you have limits because Allah (the Exalted) does not ask you to do anything tomorrow We are taxed to pray when the time is in not before We don’t seek the unseen Hand over your affairs to Allah (the Exalted) We have to struggle When you walk in the streets and help old people then you’ll know that someone will help you when you are older – that’s the future When you answer the call to prayer you know that your children will obey you This is the knowledge of the future based on your actions So you what you did and you know what to expect Our present actions are an indication of future events – if you don’t pray on time then don’t expect your children to listen to you
الحليم The forbearing He does not punish those who disobey him A Jewish businessman grabbed the Prophet (may Allah bestow peace and blessings upon him) in a rude manner demanded payment for a debt that was not due. Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) was angry but Zaid ibn Saad wanted to test the Prophet’s (may Allah bestow peace and blessings upon him) hilm/forbearance as it was written in torah that his forbearance overcomes his anger
He told Umar that wasn’t what he expected. The returned the debt and gave him some more – he became Muslim after seeing the forbearance of the Prophet (may Allah bestow peace and blessings upon him) Ahnas ibn Al-Qais was asked why he so much hilm he said he learnt it from Amr ibn Al-‘As Al-Mikarai his nephew was brought in chains because he had killed his son – he gave one hundred camels to his wife and ordered that his nephew be released – if one person forgives then the whole family have to forgive – he did all this without changing posture – he was sitting with legs to the chest with a cloth wrapped around himself Go out with a heart to absorb any insult Absorb the calamity and respond Hilm is the ability to forgo and forgive We are looked down wherever we go – show forgiveness so they accept Islam We have to respect the contract we have with them and keep it Absorb insults and forgive If someone kills a Muslim then becomes Muslim would you forgive them? Wahashi killed Hamza then he became Muslim and killed Musaylimah Khalid ibn Al-Walid (may Allah be pleased with him) led the charge at Uhud and then later became the sword of Allah Sheikh Sabri Kuchi was from Albanian who had the worst leader Anwar Fujaa. Anwar killed the scholars and the students. When he died the Albanian people got their Muslim prayer back and when he was straightening the rows for prayers he the officer who was torturing him for 25 years and he kissed his feet asking for forgiveness We don’t have the ability to forgive the person who backbites us If you hear something then you do worse to him If you are oppressed then your dua is answered but no if you take in into your hands wrongly Never take revenge from your oppression and your dua’ will be answered Even a kafirs dua is answered if oppressed If you want Allah (the Exalted) to take revenge then do not do anything The wrath of Allah (the Exalted) is greater than yours When you defend yourself then Allah (the Exalted) leaves you to your means If you want Allah (the Exalted) to give you then forgive others
When you stop and ask Allah (the Exalted) to do it then Allah will do it in a serious way Treat people how you want Allah to treat you How do you acquire hilm? Be around its people I am not here as a teacher but I hope that I am here as a guide - to give remedy - to get their requests answered When we look at the 99 names of Allah (the Exalted) we are looking at an ocean I prefer this method – there is no preparation I have not prepared a sentence I am just trying to follow up what Allah (the Exalted) pours in my mind Knowledge can be picked up anywhere I want you to go back to families happier with Allah (the Exalted) I want you to go back home with light and Imam/faith – higher himma/aspiration for worship If you are upset everyone is happy and if you are upset then everyone is upset????
Lesson three: day one
Each one of you has the capacity to serve the Ummah/the nation You are not an individual but we are a community – we need a sense of community We seek guidance not I seek in surah fatiha These brothers had some training and now they are professional but they match some bands in Damascus
العظيم The greatest His attributes are great
In divine hadith, “Greatness is my mine, anyone who claims them along side I destroy them without care.” Imam Ahmed Everything compared to nothing Allah (the Exalted) deserves the greatest respect Praise from us People think they can defy God – we have seen it in some scientists The mosquito was an example set They do not give Allah (the Exalted) his worth Al-Azeem is for Allah (the Exalted) not for you Some of the names can be taken but some cannot “Realise your description and realise his description.” said Ibn Ata’Allah Allah is Al-Ghani/the Rich you cannot be Al-Ghani you are Fakir/the poor The best for us is what he has given to us – where you are If you need more qualifications then you can get it Going through Risala Qushayri then I realised they had all succeeded in Dunya before the akhirah If you can do the best in the Dunya then you can do the best in the deen Imam Ghazali (may Allah be pleased with him) was asked which is better poverty or affluence – to claim your own attribute is better than to claim his If you are not going to brush your teeth then you are not going to do your wird When you become fakir to Allah – he will make you free from everyone other than him When you magnify Allah then Allah (the Exalted) will magnify you The Ottomans controlled a two thirds of the globe was because Uthman Al-Tagral gave the upmost respect to Allah (the Exalted). He once noticed a Quran in a room and refused to lie down and stretch his legs towards the Quran so he stayed up the night Turkish people have great adab with Allah (the Exalted) His sheikh said that he’d be a powerful caliph If you believe that Allah (the Exalted) is the great than you then you should not fear anyone but him – fear anyone other than him
الغفور The oft forgiving Maghfir is the name of an abstract herb that heals the wound immediately When we ask for forgiveness we are forgiven There are abstract meanings behind the words Ghafor is the forgiver of a lot of sins and ghafar is forgiver of often sins – from Ism Fa’il /active participle – Like if you eat often akal and Ikul eats a lot even less often – the difference is the number and quantity Allah (the Exalted) forgive everything except polytheism Do not be hopeless of the forgiveness of Allah (the Exalted) Seeking forgiveness is the major cause of poverty One of the best names of healing is ya ghafar ya shukur Impact of great sins affects your circumstances Nuh (upon him peace) commanded his people to seek forgiveness so they get rains pouring, wealth, male offspring, gardens Maintain istighfar 5,000 minimum a day for those without children If you mention Al-Warith 5,000 times for children There was someone who had not had children in seventeen years – she had a mischarge then he made the person repeat the process and he got two boys There was a brother from California Sometimes a touch by a Wali can be a cure –it happened to my father a few times My father read dhikr for someone with a broken bone – three days later they found nothing Ghafor is for someone with fever – you can write then it will cure them When you do dhikr and you do not see anything then doubt your state
الشكور The grateful Is the one who gives rewards for small things You are not generous for giving one hundred pounds then you ten pounds then this is not generosity only when you give double are you generous Generosity is giving more than expected Abu Hanifa dropped a whip and someone gave it to him then he gave then ten dirhams – when asked why because the person humiliated himself for me You should think about your position and his position – shoe shiner – give him double – don’t give your foot to him out of arrogance – you were not created a king! We are all equal when someone humiliates themselves reward them People who serve scholars get great Dunya or great akhirah either they become Awliya or their children do If someone is serving you then you be thankful that you are not in his position The Prophet (may Allah bestow peace and blessings upon him) warned cuppers Allah (the Exalted) gives a lot of reward for little Saying subhanullah gets you a tree planned in paradise but it’s not like the tree here in the Dunya – it expands over the space of 500 years The person who keeps asking to leave the fire, he brings him close to paradise then is allowed to enter - Muslim and Bukhari The least a person receives is double their rewards or ten times more Our share is to be thankful “How few of my servants are grateful.” – Quran It should be very thankful not grateful Imam As-Suyuti said Shakir is grateful for what he is given Shukur is to be thankful what he is not given Every day we get up and eat food etc we are not grateful Normally we do not give thanks unless we get a lot extra
We are not grateful when we pass our exams without preparation Thank you Allah I passed my exam Be with Allah (the Exalted) in every moment Learn to be thankful when you are not given May Allah (the Exalted) make us shukur
Day one: Lesson four
الخفيظ The Preserver Protection, preservations, taking care Handles the affairs of all that he created Protecting them from destruction and harm The one who knows all stations and ranks – all what is required to run the world in detail Some people can be described as such because they take care of people’s accounts Yusuf (upon him peace) protected the storehouses – he made an exact distribution – he had a seven year plan – he put everything in the right place without waste – this comes from deep knowledge Our characteristics are not like (his) attributes When the security alarm does not work then you’ll rely on Allah (the Exalted) You ask Allah (the Exalted) for protection Allah protected his Prophet (may Allah bestow peace and blessings upon him) – any assassins could reach him – someone could have come and killed him but Allah was protecting him – this made people accept Islam The was a person that I do not want to speak to so read a Quranic verse – I boarded last he was before me in business class – he did not notice me until the flight landed – he backbites Getting the verses of which hifz are mentioned then writing them and keeping them for protection – pick a righteous person as the hand that writes has an impact It is also protection form black Magic by writing Al-Hafiz and carrying it with you Mahfuz and Hafiz
It can be used to strengthen your memory – ya hafiz ma ansa We are preparing a booklet Constant repetition is the key to memorisation One hundred times – Surah Nisa (4) – sanqriuk fa la tansa – will improve your memory – memorise the Quran Protect your health will assist memory
المقيت The nourisher Sustainer of the world The one who provides food every living thing Allah (the Exalted) gives everything what they need for life He continues providing and sustaining Qut is nourishment Allah did not create anything except he created its provision Thomas Malthus said birth control was necessary because we do not have enough food It effected people all over the world – in morocco the families deceased from 8 to 5 – the west have a problem because the Muslim birth rates shall increase – Arab countries pick these up and blindly apply them – Sudanese wheat is sufficient to feeds its people ten times over – India wanted to a project with Egypt but because of arrogance Jamal Abdulnasir refused – now India is produced nuclear plants and made their land fertile export rice – it has 8,000 universities Egypt has 200 There are two verses about children saying not to kill them in fear of poverty and because of poverty Your job is to breed not to feed The point of marriage is to breed and our chastity is secondary – this is not the first goal – we try to balance The desire is put into men and women to breed not just to procreate – we try to balance the needs in the sacred law
My father had more than nine children only three are alive now Do not kill your children out of fear of poverty we shall provide you and them – Quran Sahal Al-Tustiri was asked was is qut/food, my Qut is the living who never dies – displaying his reliance on Allah – the questioner said he was asking about his body – his said it is knowledge – then he asked him what he put in his body – then he said why are you asking about the body the one who created it first will take care of it Ponder how the baby is in the womb – it does not drown – it has provision – it is in the care of Allah If you want anything ask Allah (the Exalted) Photography is disliked/makru If you do not have a picture of your beloved in your heart then a picture will not help It’s not a Muslim habit to put pictures on the wall My father had three pictures Do not humiliate yourself to ask people There is a beautiful translation of a dua in book of illumination ibn Ata’ Allah Ya wadud is food for family cohesion Be righteous and you’ll have righteous children Ibn Umar used to pray to benefit his son Reciting fatiha seven times on clean shirts cures the effect on them – maybe the worker wasn’t paid etc dua
Day two: Lesson one
الحسيب The reckoner for judgement
The root means to calculate, to think, to reckon The one who accounts for everyone’s needs Allah (the Exalted) suffices for you – if you can’t find a job – or you don’t get what you wanted People are of two types; if noble people are happy with I do not care about mean people If Allah (the Exalted) is happy with you then what do you care? Have Allah (the Exalted) happy with you – you have everything The second meaning is the one who takes into account The world is action without reckoning The afterlife is reckoning and no action We need to prepare ourselves for reckoning People wish to come to back to the world to come back and not waste a minute We wish to prepare for account No one will enter paradise without passing the fire “Whoever’s reckoning is discussed is punished.” hadith We pray that Allah enters us into paradise without reckoning – or we we’ll have to answer for all our wrong actions Ukasha asked to be one of the 70,000 who enter paradise without reckoning and in another hadith it says that each of these have 70,000 ranks – what a beautiful way to enter paradise – their annuls are not opened Our chare is hold ourselves into account Admonish your nafs everyday – speak to it Sometimes we a small sin mars a lot of good and vice versa Muhasib is taking oneself into account – taking your soul into account and question yourself over your motives Sometimes a little sin can cause a lot of good A woman entered hell for torturing a cat and a man entered paradise for quenching the thirst of the dog We do not know were sincerity lies You get dictators who build Masjids and then get scholars to praise them –hiding their oppression
Bring yourself into account There was a man that the Prophet (may Allah bestow peace and blessings upon him) said would go to paradise and Ibn Umar wanted to know what his secret was – all he did was forgive anyone who did any wrong on him – this is not easy to practice The Arab habit is not to ask a guest the reason for their visit for three days The Prophet (may Allah bestow peace and blessings upon him) “The worst is the one who gets angry quickly and the one who does not get happy quickly.” Sometimes great good can be caused by a little evil We do not know what contains punishment or mercy It’s very different for the human soul not to get angry The best are those who angry quickly or happy quickly Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said, “Bring yourself into account before you are brought to account.”
الجليل The majestic Rank is highest – the unreachable with our senses No similarity in his essence, works When you respect his majesty then know no one is above him Why is it that you continue doing things when the call to prayer is made? Where is your respect to the majesty of Allah? If we do not respect parents, elders then we are in trouble with Allah (the Exalted) The younger respects the older I know two brothers - the younger kisses the hand of the elder I need people to show respect to elders – help the elders – give up your seats There are brothers who do not show respect to others
I never saw my father stretching his legs in front of me so I am ashamed to do it front of my children He would only do it when he went to bed – he used to sleep for three hours Allah (the Exalted) has been doing good to you all your life and you cannot do something for him? Pray in the night – get up before fajr then pray – at least twice a week – can we do it We need to go home with something abstract and something concrete Praying in the night whilst people asleep We only greet the ones we know – this is a bad sign We can greet others of other religions with other greetings When Jews used to say saam alikum (death upon be upon you) to the Prophet (may Allah be pleased with him) he used to reply and upon you – you cannot outsmart the Prophet (may Allah bestow peace and blessings upon him) – he was taught by Allah (the Exalted) The Prophet (may Allah bestow peace and blessings upon him) used marahaban to greet his daughter, “marhaban ya ibnti.”
الكريم The generous, the noble No one is more generous that Allah (the Exalted) When the women saw Yusuf (upon him peace) they said this is not human being it is a noble angel – based on the beauty and the purity No one is more generous than Allah (the Exalted) Repeat ya Karim and Allah (the Exalted) will grand you purity and virtue above normal people. Allah (the Exalted) will make your work noble if you repeat it You cannot benefit from the name unless you are generous Yesterday I said if you want be forgiven forgive people – today I am saying if you want Allah (the Exalted) to be generous to you then be generous to people If you want Allah (the Exalted) to give to you then give to people
Sheikh Ibrahim used to give everything away and make food for the poor – if he had enough money and he would make the best food to people with nothing – within a few days then Allah would give him – because you cannot be more generous than Allah (the Exalted) Sheikh Ibrahim (may Allah show him mercy) used to tell him to give half a pound to a poor person so he would him five pounds teaching him One meal is enough for survival – you do not need more – you have enough clothes any extra is generous to you Allah (the Exalted) has the key to all treasures Anything extra than your needs is generosity – from Allah (the Exalted)
الرقيب The observer without distraction The distributor It is one the angels who records sins The people of the masjid got plates of 99 names on the ceiling – and they requested the right translation from me I am of the opinion that we should use Arabic terms so they enter the English dictionary – there are many words present in old dictionary we should make these familiar There are no words uttered except there are recorded Raqib on right and ‘Atid on left – some say there are attributes of one angel Nothing is hidden from them – they wait outside the toilet out of adab The angels are strong and cannot be bribed we hold books in the most honourable place not in the toilet – what is the value of the books? We don’t place books on the toilet outside its walls The most honourable place in your home is your library Allah (the Exalted) is watching all things Ibrahim ibn Adham (may Allah be pleased with him) addressed a man who asked him his questions to go somewhere that is not in Allah’s dominion if he wanted to commit a sin – how can people enter form peoples home and slander him? Consuming food makes a bond with people
It is shameful to slander someone who you were in their home A guest from a tribe who killed someone from another tribe – they would offer food – as it’s a because insult not to eat peoples food – they would then forgive the killing – great manners My father made a truce between people The Prophet (may Allah bestow peace and blessings upon him) said, “He was sent to prefect noble character.” One of the best benefits of this name is say it to find something lost Ya raqib A pregnant woman can recite it in fear of her baby seven times over a child to protect him – in the easy stages of pregnancy If you say it for your child then Allah will protect him Sheikh Ismail had one of his murids Ratib was in Darrar. The Family came to Sheikh Ismail to say the only person who could solve this problem. Sheikh Ismail called his name and Ratib came to see his sheikh then he told him to see his mother Sometimes my father would make a dua because he was concerned He used to hear the word Muhammad and knew that his father was calling him – so he would leave the market and return home Recite sura duha to find something lost
المجيب The one who responds –according to his generosity and more He gives more and extra before making a person beg Give him food he asked and more You are not generous when they ask and you give Generosity is giving before asking You should not wait until your brother asks to humiliate him – give it to him before he asks – this is the right of brotherhood Allah (the Exalted) answers our call more than anyone else
You only think he answers when you ask for money and get it – this is silly Remember the person who came on the day of judgement and he has good actions that he unaware because he made dua Allah (the Exalted) does not give for many reasons When you say ya Allah you have been answered Allah says call me I will respond - Quran Do you answer Allah (the Exalted)? When you hear the words o you believe in the Quran you have to respond Lower their gazes and protect your chastity When you hear the call do you respond? When you answer Allah (the Exalted) then people will answer you So when you answer then you see the response
Day two: session two
الحكيم Wise one The wisest – from wisdom The one who puts everything into its place He gives wisdom to whoever he pleases Words or statements are suitable for some groups and not others Musa (upon him peace) was ordered to go to Pharaoh with soft words that may remind him Wisdom needs to be used when answering questions The murder of ninety nine people wanted to repent – he went to a worshipper who told him he could not repent he said there was no way he could repent then he killed him and asked someone
else who was a scholar who told him to go to somewhere and never come back – he died on the way. The angels disputed to who was take his soul the angels of wrath or mercy. Allah (the Exalted) told them to measure to distance between towns – when they did they found that he was closer to the distance of his destination as Allah (the Exalted) had made the earth draw his body closer – he was on his way to repent – be careful when answering a question A woman rang his asking if Allah (the Exalted) would accept her fast if she does not wear Hijab or pray. He said of course- he advised her to pray to Allah (the Exalted) in the night to ask for guidance – I did not say she was a sinner and her fasts are not accepted – she called back and said now she is a muslimah – she went to a masjid where they threw her out because she did not have a Hijab and that she was Kafir – someone who wears Hijab is sinful but not a disbeliever – this it opinion of the major group of scholars Someone came complaining about their daughter in law and son. So he kept asking because the outward is not clear. She had married her son to a woman and she had thought that because he had to work that her daughter in law had driven her away from her. So she threw them out of her house. You cannot take the outward as it is delve into it with questions When you are in dialogues you have to refute the other traditions to others know the truth We need you use wisdom when people are giving dawah Presentations about Islam is good if you are explaining If you are giving it to a mix crowd then subtly refute them and present proofs Don’t tell a mixed crowd that they are going to hell – you are unbelievers – no one will accept it – you say that people who do not believe in Islam are in the fire but do not tell them directly as you want to win them over When someone is stubborn you have to be clear If you want to present Islam you have to show them the treasures of Islam People want attractive information and not a speaker to attack them I have seen so many people start their lectures and accusing others When people see a pure heart they’ll accept things In 2000 in New York I found people effected with selefism – I was balanced - they were attracted some 3,000 – 5,000 crowd – slowly he gradually changed their beliefs – not by using the names of the scholars because they would not accept them but by saying one of righteous said You need wisdom because they would never accept it A brother came and hugged him after a khutbah almost strangling me – he confirmed that Allah does not live in the heavens – he slapped my back – almost killing me After a few visits I changed things
You cannot stop your parents watching a movie – let them finish it You don’t have enough money to distribute to everyone but you have sufficient character to reach everyone Your job is to warn them not shout at them – pick the right words When you want your child to pray then pray – let him see it Take him to the masjid then give him a gift – you need wisdom with your children If you accept his wisdom then you’ll accept all he does in the world How can we know what is best for a certain piece of land? How long is the history of mankind? The universe? Thousands of years – millions of years When Musa (upon him peace) objected then it caused the separation of Khidr The wall that was re-built by Khidr for the orphans was 66 cubits long and he fixed it with a wipe then they found the treasure of the grand parents – he was their seventh forefather – was righteous – by sending a wali and a prophet Maybe when something is averted because of your relatives Do you think that these people who collected garage as their offspring will be great because of their service to the community? Allah has put everything into place – a balance I know someone who used to serve my father whose is now a scholar A person who serves a Wali – his son becomes a scholar When people serve they get more Never object to his will and see his wisdom everywhere – they you will find things different Everyone has eyes but not see I ask Allah to give us more wisdom but we can never have enough
Day two: final session
It seems like I’ll be back to ghamgol sharif again for part 3, part 4, and part 5 We hope to complete it
A weekend seems not to be enough What’s more important is your provision on my tongue Sometimes I feel that you have questions in your hearts that I am answering I consider myself a servant of those in tariqah and those not There is a connection of hearts to hearts People who are not in my tariqah get benefit If Allah predestined your guidance on my tongue then they are welcome My father had authority over every tariqah He used to teach students of other people in other tariqah My father gave very few permissions to teach Sheikh Hamza has tariqah himself In 1999 I taught Sheikh Hamza Yusuf 12 books – he had been talking about his father and he said that he wished to be at the feet of your father – I saw my father in a dream giving permission to those who love him, his students and those present People make fatiha for him and then they get opening There was someone who was about to get his house destroyed and he told him to recite fatiha for his father and the judgement for the house was overturned We are not pushing people in tariqah Every sheikh is better than me Every common Muslims is better than me I am not building a group Those who are close to me need to be one unit Many people agree that Sufism has been presented wrongly People look at Sufis doing bad things in haram Islam is about tawhid and ibadah – monotheism and worship Ishan comes to prefect every aspect When you move from rational proof to actual witnessing Like seeing the sun in midday This is ishan
From ‘ayna al-yaqin etc Prefect your worship Rid yourself of all bad traits then when there is light Allah will make it manifest Everyone should be a Sufi or else you are not a Sunni This is how it used to be Those who are hiding, trying to be Sufi’s will be exposed because their belief should be Ahl alSunnah Represent this in your adab Pray in masjid Dress well Beard Imama if possible We leave Sunnah and claim we are Sunnis A person was about the sacked because he is lazy in work and in deen Tawassuf is not poverty – it is poverty to Allah It is not about abandoning Dunya You take benefit from the world to help your akhirah A person who works and does his dhikr is better than a person who does it in one room and does not work – the worker is faster I am not talking about someone working surrounded by young girls and looking at them The distance between you and Allah is your ego – your nafs I would like people to be one unit Sheikh Faisal is my deputy then ask him if you cannot reach me He was the first person outside Syria in 1998 He is a purified guide If you take tariqah with me you have to respect him You will see him a scholar appear Where is Sheikh Yaseen?
If you can do business with someone in the tariqah then do it Help people who need in English and maths There is no better way than this way The Shadhali way will last until the end of time – the hadith about the people who say our parents said Allah this is the Shadhali as they do loud dhikr – the naqshbandi’s say it silently We are protected from dajjal For those without children recite ya Warith 1000 times a day if there is no medical issue and the dua of Zakariah (upon him peace) rab ijalani wraith... 100 times – he starts with the Quran and then dhikr - Istighfar 70,000 times – warith not ya waris before doing the dhikr If he is sick then I would give them dhikr for healing Use the verses of cure (please insert) Where is brother Umar? He did not have children for nine years he did ya Latif for six months 1000 times – you missed your wird sometimes and he had a son A doctor asked for a dua to heal people but you have you say ya bari seven thousand times a day for a few years – he did not want to do it then he asked him how long he studied to be a doctor seven years he cannot do dhikr for two hours a day Someone who recites ya bari can become someone who cures people A few years would be good You can’t ask Allah if you aren’t praying on time – or when you are disobeying him The deen is one package we do not take what we like This tariqah is for people who Allah loves and people will be filtered out if they do not It’s like someone who wants water and keeps digging in different places then not reaching his goal – had been patient then he would have reached his goal Dhikr is the declaration that a person will be a wali – according to Ibn Ata’Allah Any dhakir is a wali project – you are a wali to be People who keep their fard and Sunnah should be Awliya For the person wanting to study then read fatiha seven times over water and drink it If someone is serious read Sura fatiha 49 times a day You have to have halal income The person who wants to study in Syria should stay at home and pray for the Syrian people
We pray Allah protects Sham and its people There would be no depression if people recited dalail al-khayrat (in response to depression) In sura Qasas recite the Dua of Musa one hundred times everyday to get a wife – until you find the right girl – rabi inni khari... – he got married to one of the daughters of Shuab (upon him peace) – when you find her stop! – there was a brother who was above 40 and his mother asked me to speak to him to encourage him when he did it he found a wife in ten days – after he got used and we had to tell him to stop – you have the best wife and you do not need another one Repent as it may remove something stopping you getting children For women recite Sura duha (Surah 93) eleven times before the zenith in duha time 101 Sura Nashrah (94) a lam nashra with one bismillah for seven days not every day – the best are Thursday and Sunday – you’ll see ease in your life – or forty days in sequence Everyone here has permission to read dalail al-khayrat – mine are the highest chains in the world – the closest to the author Don’t forget to add sayyidna when you mention the name of the Prophet (may Allah bestow peace and blessings be upon him)
End of second part. Part three soon in sha Allah!
