Kakshya Kakshya is a specific part of a sign. Each Kakshya has a specific planet as its Lord. Ruling planets of Kakshya are Saturn, Jupiter, Mars, Sun, Venus, Mercury, Moon and Ascendant. A sign consists of 30 degrees. Dividing it in eight different parts produces eight Kakshyas. One Kakshya is equal to 3 degree 45 minutes. Each Kakshya gives results according to its position in a specific house.
Prastarak Chakra In Prastarak Chakra, Bindu provided by eight Kakshyas in twelve houses are explained in a tabular form. A different Prastarak Chakra is created for every planet.
Bhinna Ashtak Yogas of Bindu provided by planets in a Prastarak Chakra are explained in a Janma Kundali. This way, each planet has its own Varga according to the Prastarak Chakra. In other words, every planet has its own Bhinna Ashtak Varga.

Ashtak Varga and Transits
0 Comment(s) | Read 569 Time(s) Planets are always moving from one place to another. Hence, their position in the universe is always changing. This movement of planets is known as transit. Ashtak Varga is one of the most important principles for analyzing transits of planets. In order to understand this knowledge, we need to study the speeds of planets. Every planet stays in a sign for a certain duration. Hence, we need to understand the duration for which a planet will stay in a sign. Duration for transits of different planets are as follows : Moon - 2 days and one quarter Mars - 45 days Mercury - 28 days Jupiter - 1 year Venus - 30 days Saturn - 2 and a half years Rahu-Ketu - 1 and a half years Usually, transits are analyzed by studying a planet’s position from Moon. We need to analyze Saturn’s transit as it stays in a sign for the longest duration. We need to understand its effects after staying for so long in a sign. With the help of Ashtak Varga, we can easily understand all this. As mentioned earlier, there are seven planets and the eighth is Ascendant. Auspicious and inauspicious points (Bindu) are obtained from all these planets. If the seven planets and ascendant give one auspicious point each, there will 8 auspicious points in a Kundali. If there are seven auspicious points, a person ill have 7 parts of auspicious results. On the basis of such results, auspiciousness in a person’s life is calculated. According to another opinion, if a planet in transit is in 3rd, 6th, 10th or 11th house from birth Moon or Ascendant, or if it is in a friendly sign, own sign or exalted, and there are four auspicious points, a person will have more auspicious results. On the other hand, if the planet is transit in other houses from the birth Moon, a person may receive inauspicious results. If a planet is debilitated, malefic or weak, the person may receive more inauspicious results. The range for inauspicious or auspicious points in Bhinna Ashtak Varga range from 0 to 8. Planets with 4 points are considered to give mixed results. On the other hand, this range is between 0 to 56 in Sarva Ashtak Varga. A planet with 28 points is considered to give mixed results. In addition to all this, transits need to be analyzed through Nakshatras. These are studied under nine stars. These nine stars are : Janma, Sampat, Vipat,
Kshem, Pratyari, Sadhak, Vadh, Mitra and Atimitra. All the 27 Nakshatras are divided into three categories. Transit of planets in Kakshyas is also another way to study transits of planets. We also have to study temporary auspicious and inauspicious planets. We also need to understand that transits of planets also give results according to Yogas in a Kundali.

Yatha Lagnacha Chandracha Grahnaman Phalam । Tathanyobhayopi Khatwbhyo Vichintyam Devidavare ।।
Atovyardikhetaman Salagnanam Prithak Prithak । Ashtanam Sarvabhavottham Yathoktamshubham Shubham ।।
GYatyadau Karanam Sthanam Bindurekhopalkshitam
।
Kramadshtakvargarsya Vachayam Spashtphalam Yatha ।।
While discussing the principles of astrology, Saint Parashar has also mentioned the significance of Ashtakavarga. In ashtakvarga the strong position of planets have been mentioned. In this method, the position of planets are determined on the basis of bindu and rekha. It is important to have the knowledge of planet transits to get the right results.Ashtakvarga is taken into consideration when analyzing the dasha and antardasha of planets.
It can be said that even after getting maximum counts of bindus a planet may not be able to g ive good results. Also, when a planet in its bheenashtak varga transits in a rashi without any bindu gives very inauspicious results.
It is said that any planet whether it is in its exalted sign or located in the trikon h ouse or mooltrikona sign, it won’t be able to give good results if it has less than 25 bindus. Rashi that is favourable in Ashtakvarga gives fruitful results. It is important to analyze the Ashtakavarga shudhi to determine the auspiciousness of the work being done.
The transit phase of planets are determined by its position from the moon and ascendant and ashtakavarga has a special significance in it. The effects of this methods can be understood by the energy emitted by the planets and ascendant in Ashtakavarga. It helps us to understand the conditions of plants in a kundali and what will be their effects during transit.

If you want to formulate a table for Sarva Ashtak, you may discard making Prastarak Varga if you want to. The following procedure will tell you to easily make Sarva Ashtak. For some important tasks, you only need Sarva Ashtak. Hence, you don’t need Bhinna Ashtak to formulate a table for Sarva Ashtak.
In this procedure, we have considered Bindus (auspicious points) of planets in different houses as numbers. For instance, Sun gives 3 points in 1, 2, 3 and 4 houses from its place. In the first house, it gives 2 points. It gives 3 points in sixth house. Four points in seventh house, 5 in eighth, 7 in eleventh and 2 in twelfth house.
In the same way, we can calculate Bindus by different planets in different houses. In order to formulate Sarva Ashtak Varga, we have to create a table. Planets in signs should be mentioned accordingly. You can create a table for Sarva Ashtak by writing points for each planet in different lines. You should remember that signs should be written besides only those planets in which they are present. Begin writing points from this place. This procedure is also known as Samudaya Ashtak Varga.

According to Parashara Hora Shastra, each ascendant has been assigned malefic and benefic planets in astrology. These planets are analyzed to determine the results. Many a times it is observed that certain planets give auspicious or inauspicious results in an ascendant. It is necessary to analyze the lord of the ascendant of a birth chart.
If the lord of the ascendant is a naturally auspicious planet, then it will always give auspicious results. For example: Saturn will always be auspicious for Capricorn and Aquarius.
The lord of trikon will always be auspicious as well. For example: Mars is auspicious for the lord of trikon in kendra for Cancer and Leo. Similarly, Saturn is auspicious for Taurus and Libra ascendant.
Inauspicious planets being thr lord of kendra leave their inauspiciousness due to Kendradhipati dosha. On the o ther hand, auspicious planets become neutral.
Aspects Planetary aspects have great significance in Ashtakavarga. During Ashtakvarga transit, the auspicious planets aspecting other planets increases the auspiciousness. On the other hand, the aspect of inauspiciousness planet also increases the inauspiciousness.
Effect of Retrograde Planets Retrograde naturally auspicious planets transiting in favourable house give strength and a uspiciouness to related planets and rashis. However, transit in unfavourable h ouse decrease the auspiciousness. Transit of retrograde naturally inauspicious planet can be full of sufferings.
Effect of Dashanath A planet that transits in favourable house in suspicions dasha gives auspicious results. On the other hand, transit in unfavourable house give inauspicious results. Other than this, inauspicious results are obtained when a malefic planet transits in unfavourable house in its dasha.
Effect of Astagat A planet gives inauspicious results when it sets in unfavourable house during transit and enters the house of Rahu/Ketu.
Being in Malefic and Benefic Kartari When a planet comes between two malefic planets during transit is it situated in malefic kartari. Also, if the planet transiting in favourable houses comes into the this yoga, then it is not able to give desired results. However, when it enters the unfavourable houses during transit, the inauspicious results increases. In Benefic Kartari, the results are totally opposite to Malefic Kartari. It should also be noted that when a p lanet crosses over its own ruling house it results in some or the other auspicious incident in the life of the native.
Method To Compute Trikon Shodhan 0 Comment(s) | Read 511 Time(s)
Trikon Shodhan is performed after performing Mandal Shodhan in Sarvashtakavarga. All the signs have been divided into four categories i.e fire, air, earth and water. These are the four elements of universe. Thus, there are 3 signs in every varga that are trikon signs. These have been classified in different vargas, i.e (1-5-9), (2-6-10), (3-7-11) and (4-8-12).
Fire Signs - Aries, Leo and Sagittarius
Earth Signs: Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn
Air Signs: Gemini, Libra and Aquarius Water Signs: Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces
Rules
If the bindu count of the signs of any of the element is not equal, then consider the sign with lowest number of bindus and use that number to deduct th e bindu counts of other rashi.
The any of the sign of an element has 0, then shodhan is not performed.
If any of the tw signs of a particular element has 0, then the bindu count of the third sign will automatically become 0.
If the bindu counts of all the signs are equal, then after the shodhan the points of all the signs will get 0.
Now, we will use these rules through an illustrative kundli to understand them better.
In this kundli after performing the Mandal shodhan, thr ascendant has 12 bindus, second house is with 3 bindus, third house with 12 bindus, fourth house with 6 bindus, fifth house with 11 bindus, seventh house with 10 bindus, eighth house with 1 bindu, ninth hosue with 9 bindus, enth house with 9 bindus, eleventh house with 8 bindus and twelfth house with 12 bindus.
