Test procedure: 1. Carry out Insulation Resistance Test (Before HV). 2. Carry out HV Test. 3. Carry out Insulation Resistance Test (After HV). Pre-conditions: 1. Check and confirm the CT circuits should be shorted and earthed. 2. Check and confirm Bus and line VT are isolated. 3. Check and confirm Switchboard is earthed. 4. Check all VT Fuse Removed. 5. CVD contact shorted at front of Display terminals in each phase of HV test. (Note: CVD indications to be tested at 6KV AC during the HV test.) Safety Procedures: (i)During the HV test 11kv SWGR Room all the access points are should be closed and locked, No-one not permitted to remain with in the 11KV SWGR room during testing. (ii) All the energize component will be barricaded off with rigid safety fencing. (iii) 11KV SWGR room and basement as well as all access points are shall be locked. 2.1. IR value measurement: Measure insulation resistance at 5000V DC before and after HV test. R – YBE in GΩ

2.2. HVAC test. This test is to be carried out on each of the phases with respect to earth. AC voltage at 50Hz equal to 80% FAT value i.e 22.4kV since this test was carried out at Factory 2.5 times of the line voltage i.e 28 kV for 1 minute was applied to the conductor with respect to ground. The leakage current is recorded and noted as mentioned in the below table. (Note: Since this test is carried out in factory. 80% of the 28kV i.e. 22.4 kV shall be applied in site test.) 2.2. PARTIAL DISCHARGE TEST DURING HV TEST (i) All secondary circuit of CT’s must be shorted. (ii) Ground the other two phases through the bus bar at cable chamber and also at the CVD display on the chamber. (iii) For the selected phases apply 1.1 x E/1.732 Voltage (7.6KV) (iv) Note down the PD value for each panel at the applied voltage. (v) Repeat same procedure for all phases and all the feeders.
