* Keep the hi-hat the notated style until notated otherwise. ** The second hi-hat is normally kept loose, so the style notations are typically not necessary. *** The bell of other cymbals will also be notated with a diamond notehead. **** On the rare occasion this is necessary, other indications will be made to make this clearer. ***** For reference, the average three-tom setup would use the high and mid rack toms and the high floor tom.
