Under the National Registry of Certified Environmental Professionals (NRCEP)Scheme, all RegisteredCompetentPersonsare requiredto collecta minimumof 50 CPD hours per year. The objectiveof this requirementis to ensurethose registeredunderthis schemewill continuallyimproveand develop theirknowledgeand skills.

CPD REQUIREMENT
2.1
The followingcategoriesof registeredCompetentPersonsmust complywith the CPD requiremenisunderClause1.1 above:i) ii) iii) iv) v) vi) vii) viii)
Certified EnvironmentalProfessionalin ScheduledWaste Management (CePSWaM); in IndustrialEffluentTreatmentSystem Professional CertifiedEnvironmental (CePIETSO-PCP); (PhysicalChemicalProcesses) in IndushialEffluentTreatmentSystem Professional CertifiedEnvironmental (BiologicalProcesses)(CePIETSO-BP); in ScrubberOperation(CEPSO); Professional CertifiedEnvironmental in Bag FilterOperation(CEPBFO); Professional CertifiedEnvironmental CertifiedEnvironmentalProfessionalin The Treatmentof Palm Oil Mill Effluent(PondProcesses)(CePPOME); in SewageTreatmentPlantOperation Professional CertifiedEnvironmental (CePSTPO);and Any CompetentPersonwhose name has been removedfrom the Register and desiresto be reinstated. He must for failureto renew his registration for the year priorto reinstatement complywith the CPD requirements
Any CompetentPersonwho is certifiedin one or more of item (i) to item (vii) under Clause2.1 needsto collectonly a minimumof 50 CPD Hour in order to stipulatedunderClause1.1. complywith the requirements

TRAININGACTIVITIESACCEPTABLEFOR CPD HOURCOMPUTATION

Generally,there are eight (8) categoriesof hainingactivitiesthat are accepted for CPD hourcalculationas listedin Table A. 3.1.'l Structured Training Courses and Workshops These includeall haining coursesand workshopsorganizedby EiMAS and DOE. Trainingcourses and workshopsoffered by other professionalinstitutesor recognizedtrainingprovidersat nationalor internationallevel could also be consideredprovidedtheir main topics are related to environmental managementor pollutioncontroltechnologies. 3.1,2 CertificationCourses and Mainstreamingof Environmental Management These include establishedcertificationcourses offered by EiMAS and other activities that are related to mainstreamingof environmental managementin the industrial premises such as cleaner production implementation projects, involvement in Performance Monitoring Committeemeetingsand ISO meetings,Boardof Engineersmeetings,etc. 3.1.3 Conventions,Conferences,Seminars,Talks, TechnicalVisits, etc. These includeall seminars,conferences,talks and technicalsite visits organizedby E|MASand DOE. 3.1.5 Gonductof Training This includes conductingtraining by Competent Person on subjects related to environmentalmanagementor technical areas, or pollution controlequipmenti technologies. 3.1.6 Presentation of Paper CompetentPersonswho prepare and present papers for conventions, conferences,seminars,workshops,talks, courses, etc. organized by EIMAS,DOE or otherscan also applyfor CPD credit hours if the papers preparedand presentedare related to environmentalmanagementor pollutioncontrolequipment/ technologies. 3.1.7 RelatedStudy CompetentPersonswho enrollin full time or parttime studieson subjects related to environmental engineering, environmental science or environmental relatedfieldcan applyfor appropriateCPD hours. 3.1.8 Self Study CompetentPersonswho engage in self study which includesstudying books and articleson environmenialsubjectscan also earn CPD hours. The title of booksand articlesmustbe recordedin the log book.Unrelated readingmaterialswill notqualifofor CPD Hours. 3.1.9 Others lf a CompetentPerson believesthat he is undertakingoiher types of trainingactivitiesnot describedabove,he can make a submissionto the DOEto requestfor appropriateCPD hours..

CPD HOURCALCULATION
4.1 Pleasereferto Table A: CPD Hour Table for Competent Person Registration Scheme,for ihe calculationon CPD Hoursfor eachactivity.
4.2
Excessof CPDHours 4.2.1 A CompetentPersonwho has accumulated more than fifty (50) CPD hours may carry fonruard excessCPD hoursto the subsequentyear. However,the excessCPD hourscan be carriedforuvard for two (2) years only. 4.2.2 A Competent Personwho intendsto carryforwardhis excessCPDhours year'sCPDrecords mustsubmitto the DOEtheircurrentand preceding for verification andapproval.
4.3
InsufficientGPDHours 4.3.1 In the eventthatthe CPDhoursaccumulated by a Competent Personare lessthan25 CPDHours,the DOEwillremovethenameof theCompetent Person from the National Registry of Certified Environmental (NRCEP). Professionals 4.3.2 AnyCompetent Personswhosenamehas beenremovedand desiresto be reinstatedmust satisfythe minimumrequirement of fiftv (50) CPD hoursfor reinstatement.

SUBMISSIONOF CPD RECORDS
5.1
Every CompetentPersonshall submitgg[4g his CPD recordsyearly together with his applicationfor the renewalof registration with the DOE throughNRCEP by 31st January.

The DOE will not approvean applicationfor the renewalof registrationif the applicantdoes not complywith the CPD requirements as statedin Clause1.1. The DOE will revokethe regiskationof any CompetentPersonat any time if the DOE is satisfiedthat the renewalof registration has beenobtainedby submission of fraudulentdocuments.
