Dear%Mary%Potter%Staff, I%am%very%excited%to%be%part%of%the%Mary%Potter%Middle%School%Staff.%This% is%my%16th%year%in%education,%and%I’ve%spent%15%of%those%years%teaching% fourth%grade.%I%am%from%the%Whitakers/Rocky%Mount%area,%and%am% currently%living%in%Nashville%with%my%husband%and%two%children,%David% and%Davidah,%who%both%attend%the%new%Granville%Magnet%SchoolJ Promise%Academy.%My%areas%of%high%interest%are%Balanced%Literacy,% Small%Group%Instruction,%and%absolutely%ANYTHING%that%deals%with% Technology.%I%have%been%all%over,%but%have%spent%my%last%four%years% working%in%Granville%County.%I%earned%my%Bachelors%from%North%Carolina% Central%University%in%History,%and%my%Masters%in%Educational%Leadership% at%Touro%University.%I%also%hold%certiSications%in%Early%Childhood% Education,%%and%licenses%in%Elementary%KJJ6%and%Reading%KJJ12. My%philosophy%about%learning%and%education%consists%of%three%simple%themes.% First,%if%there%is%something%to%be%learned,%I%want%to%learn%it.%Second,%there%is%no% one%in%that%exists%in%the%world%that%knows%everything%regardless%of%your%years% of%education%or%your%levels%of%expertise.%Lastly,%we%are%designed%to%learn%from% each%other,%and%to%sharpen%each%other’s%tools.%I%look%forward%to%working%with% you%all%as%I%embark%upon%this%new%adventure%in%school administration.
