CODEX: STORM DRAGONS ARMY SPECIAL RULES Combat Squads A number of 10 man have the option to break down into 2 five men squads. This is clearly specified in the unit’s entry The units that can be split into Combat Squads are: • Storm Marine Squad • Storm Scout Squad • Flame Veteran Squad • Cyclone Warrior Squad • Hydro Marine Squad • Earth Champion Squad • Devastorm Squad • Storm Terminator Squad • Incineration Squad • Blaze Assault Squad • Inferno Bike Squad

And They Shall Know No Fear Space Marines always pass tests to regroup, and can take such tests even if the squad has been reduced to less than half strength by casualties, though all other criteria apply. Models with this rule do not count as moving when regrouping, even though they normally would. If Space Marines are caught in a Sweeping Advance, they are not destroyed but will instead continue to fight normally, if this happens the unit is subject to the No Retreat! Rule in that round of combat. Darkness of the Dragons On the first two turns, the Night Fighting rules are in affect. Also due to the Storm Dragons pitch black armour this makes them harder to spot. Special Rules Rule Spotting All units in the army have some normal special rule. If the special rule is not marked with a * then it is a normal Space Marine rule or Universal Special Rule and can be found in the Space Marine codex or Warhammer 40,000 rule book. All Special Rules marked with a * in the Army list entry can be found here. Single unit rules are labelled accordingly. Dragons Mind (Chapter Master Strom) If Chapter Master Strom is taken in the army, all combat squads may split or re-group during any controlling player movement phase. Dragon’s Claw (Past Master Inferath) Any unit that Inferath joins gains +1 Weapon Skill. Dragon’s wings (Air Magister Typhon) Typhon and any unit he has joined gain the Fleet special rule. Wind Tunnel (Air Magister Typhon) During the controlling player movement phase, Typhon may use the Wind Tunnel to propel himself into the sky and land behind enemy lines. When this is declared, remove Typhon ,and any unit he has joined, from the table and place them anywhere on the Battlefield as if they were deep striking. Master Psyker (Chief Librarian Dracolas) Dracolas knows all psychic powers available to Space Marine Librarians. Elemental Master (Chief Librarian Dracolas) Dracolas has such a powerful psychic presence that he can even control matter in certain forms. He is able to control the four elements: Fire, Water, Earth and Air. Each element can be used as follows: Fire: Instead of shooting, Dracolas may create fire and purge his opponents. This is counted as a Template attack at Strength 5 AP 3 Water: When wounded, Dracolas can use healing water. In any controlling player shooting phase, Dracolas may attempt to heal one wound of any model in his unit or himself instead of shooting. Pick one model which has lost wounds, on a 4+ Dracolas heals the model and they regain a wound. Earth: Dracolas can control the earth and cause earthquakes to bury the enemy. During the shooting phase, instead of shooting, any unit within 12” of Dracolas, be them friend or foe, is hit with a Strength 7 hit with no Armour Piercing. This hit causes 2 wounds. Vehicles are hit on their rear armour to represent being hit on their weak under armour. Air: In combat, Dracolas can use the wind to help slice his opponents apart. In combat, Dracolas can make 2 attacks before himself. These attacks are resolved at Initiative 8, Strength 5 and cause an instant wound. They may hit any model in the attacking unit. The controlling player chooses who. Only Invulnerable saves may be taken against these attacks.

Scorching Metal (Vehicles Only) Many a tank in the Storm Dragons are built with metal forged in the heart of Dracor. Tanks made with this metal are scorching hot and will burn any unwary enemy. When enemies assault a vehicle with Scorched Metal, roll 2D6 to see how many enemies are burnt by the metal. If the squad has less models than rolled, simply use the maximum number of models. The models burnt are hit with a Strength 3 hit with no armour piercing. Elemental Artists: All Elemental Artists are specially trained by Dracolas to use specific psychic brainwaves to control one of the four powerful elements Flame Artists With power to control burning ash and flame, Flame Artists can incinerate their opponents at the click of a finger, or surround their weapons with flames and cause damage on an unprecedented scale. All Flame Artists weapons count as rending. Wind Artists The wind is certainly a force to be reckoned with, especially when in the hands of the mighty Space Marines. With lighting fast attacks and unseen movement, Wind Artists are some of the fastest warriors at the Storm Dragons disposal. Wind Artists always strike first when assaulting into combat and have the Counter-Attack special rule. Earth Artists Unnerving it is to tread on a foreign planet by most warriors, but never to the Earth Artists of the Storm Dragons. Due to their connection with rocks and gravel, they are able to sense even the slightest of movements, and swallow their prey whole in a sudden abyss into the heart of the planet. When the Night Fighting rule is in effect, Earth artists roll 2D6x4 to see. Also instead of shooting, Earth Artists can open up the earth beneath the enemy and throw them to the pits of the planet. If an enemy unit is within 24” of an Earth Artist and the Earth Artist wishes to open the ground, roll a D6. On a 4+ the Earth Artist opens the ground. The enemy can then roll a D6, on a 4+ the model survives as he jumped clear at the last second or grabbed onto the edge for dear life. This move does not require a line of sight as the enemy is sensed through the ground. Water Artists Though most warriors of the 41st millennium train extensively in combat and fighting, some play a more important role. A role of which sustains the main life force of an army. This is true to the Water Artists of the Storm Dragons. With their ability to control water, they can heal 2 almost any type of wound. If a wounded model within 6” of a Water Artist, the Water

Normal Wargear

Chapter Master Strom: Cape of the Dragon Made from powerful Ceramite and Adamantium scales, this cape provides it’s wearer with a 4+ invulnerable save.

Blast Shotgun A shotgun adorned with the power of fire. It has the following profile: Range S Ap Type Template 4 Assault 1

Flame pattern Storm Bolter This specially customized Storm Bolter has the following profile: Range S Ap Type 24” 5 3 Assault 2

Wind Pistol A special Bolt Pistol modified to be enhanced by Typhon’s and Cyclone Warriors control of the wind. This is shot as a normal Bolt Pistol with 18” Range.

Relic Flame Blade This ancient relic blade was once forged in the core of the Storm Dragons home world and passed down for generations to each Chapter Master. The Relic Flame Blade increases the user’s strength by 1 and causes Instant Death. No extra attacks can be taken if wielding the Relic Flame Blade, not even charging attacks! Past Master Inferath: Dragon Fist This chainfist Inferath has had since he joined the First Company’s Veteran Terminator squads. His initiative is not reduced when charging into combat. Dragon Scaled Terminator Armour This special Terminator armour is made from Dragon Scales. It provides a 2+ Armour save and a 4+ Invulnerable save. Air Magister Typhon: Flame Blade A Blade surrounded in the fire of Sol, with heat enough to melt even the strongest Wraithbone and can kill the Necron’s dreaded Living Metal. The Flame Blade is a power weapon that adds +1 to Typhon’s strength.

Wind Blade A sword used by Wind Artists, which can store energised winds and release them in a storm of concealed attacks. Wind Blades are counted as Power Weapons that provide the users with the Furious Charge Special Rule. Water Crest A Water Crest is a holy badge that protects and heals the wearer with a powerful water shield. All models wearing a Water Crest benefit from the Feel No Pain special rule. Terra Armour Ordinary Power Armour that has been heavily reinforced by the earth by an Earth Artist. This armour provides +1 toughness to the wearer and a 5+ invulnerable save, however the wearer is then faced with heavy sluggish movement. Terra Armour reduces initiative by 2 and gives the wearer the Slow and Purposeful special rule. Mobile Autocannon Pack Simply put, a Space Marine Backpack modified to support an Autocannon. This is counted as a normal weapon, and normal Autocannon, however it provides no other benefits.

Wind Pistol A special Bolt Pistol modified to be enhanced by Typhon’s and Cyclone Warriors control of the wind. This is shot as a normal Bolt Pistol with 18” Range. Wind Shield As Typhon cannot afford to carry more weight, so he enhanced his Wind Control to compensate for the lack of protection form the Iron Halo. The Wind Shield provides Typhon with a 4+ invulnerable Save. Chief Librarian Dracolas: Hand storm A simple hand held storm bolter. This counts Dracolas with an extra close combat weapon.
