Introduction Some time back we discussed about how we can setup stock transport orders in SAP. Click here to read that document. Similarly, it’s very often requested by certain customers to setup stock transport orders to move stock between storage locations within same plant. For example, let’s say you have two buildings in same physical location and those were configured as two different storage locations under one plant (Site) in SAP. If you want to move goods between one building to the other (mean in SAP it has to be one storage location to the other), you have 2 ways of handling it in SAP. 1. You can do an inventory transport posting between storage location to storage location 2. You can use the stock transport order process between two storage locations Today we will see how we can setup stock transport order process between two storage locations in SAP FMS. Since I am using SAP FMS, some setting might be different from what you have seen in standard SAP (R/3).
Configuration Create a new Stock Transport Order type This is an optional entry. If you don’t want to create your own PO type to distinguish your STO’s between intra company plant to plant vs. Storage location to storage location, you can use the PO type “UB” for this purpose. Since I want to make is cleaner, I will create a new STO type for this purpose. IMG Path:
2
Copy PO type “NB” and create your own PO type for this purpose.
You should have item category “U” under allowed item categories for that PO type
Save your new PO type
Create a new stock transport delivery type Similar to above, you can also create your own delivery type to differentiate normal intra company STO deliveries from storage location to storage location STO deliveries. However, this is an optional setup. You can also use the standard SAP delivered STO delivery type “NL” for this purpose. IMG Path:
Copy delivery type “NL and create your own delivery type (Eg: ZASL)
3
4
Activate stock transport between storage locations Under below IMG path, you need to activate stock transport between storage locations. This is a client level global setting in SAP. IMG Path:
Mark the below check box
5
Assign delivery type and checking rule according to storage location Under this IMG path, you need to assign your ATP checking rule and the delivery types associated with your STO type. IMG Path:
Enter purchasing document category “F” and press enter key
Based on my business scenario, I need to specify my issuing site as “AW02” and issuing storage locations will be both “AW01” and “AW02” as I am planning to move stock between both sides. You also need to specify your STO type and the delivery type associated with it.
6
Define shipping data between storage locations Under this IMG path, you need to specify how your vendor, sales area should be determining in the subsequent STO deliveries, etc. IMG Path:
Maintain below
7
Define rule to determine shipping point Since we are planning to move stock between storage locations, we need to have our shipping point determination also at the storage location level. Under this IMG path, you can setup how your STO delivery type should determine the shipping point. IMG Path:
Change your STO delivery type to have “Storage location dependent shipping point determination”
Assign shipping points according to storage location Since we have setup our shipping point determination according to storage location, now it’s required to setup the shipping point determination based on those 2 storage locations. 8
IMG Path:
Maintain shipping point determination based on those 2 storage locations as below
Above mentioned configuration is all what you need for STO between storage location. However, if you’re in IS-Retail environment or SAP FMS (Fashion Management Solution), there is one more important setting that you need to check.
Remove Distribution Profile from Site Master If the distribution profile is specified in the site master, the issuing storage location cannot be entered in the STO PO line item manually. Please refer below OSS note on this topic.
1763873 - Field 'Issuing Storage Location' in STO is grayed out 1826705 - Purchase order field status issuing storage location (RESLO) cannot be customized via Field Selection Key
9
Transaction: WB02
Enter your reference DC and go inside
Go to “Purchasing / Distribution” tab and set below field blank
Save
Test Scenario From article “AW11001”; I do not have any stock available in storage location “AW02” under DC “AW02”. I only have Retail Inventory - 10 (Stock Segment - RTL) and wholesale inventory - 100 (Stock Segment WHS) in stock. I’m going to move quantity 3 from article “AW11001” – “RTL” stock segment from storage location “AW01” to storage location “AW02”
Initial stock situation
10
Transaction: RWBE
Create a new STO with below data o Supplying Site - AW02 o Issuing storage location - AW01 o Receiving storage location - AW02
Transaction: ME21N
Save the STO
11
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Note to remember: As I have shown below; in the standard system, the “Issuing Storage Location” field is not getting copied to all sub items (variant line items) automatically. I have to manually enter it in each variant items.
However, based on the OSS note: “1000328 - Issuing storage location is not copied to the sub items”; below customizing setting will solve this issue. Transaction: SM30
Maintain the table “TMSI3” and click on Enter below entry and save
button
12
Now if you create a new STO, you will notice that “Issuing storage location” is automatically copied to all variant items without any issue. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------As I mentioned above, if your site is having a distribution profile assigned, you will not be able to select the issuing storage location manually. STO # - 4500000684
Since my DC’s are allocation relevant (Please note that this is a FMS specific functionality, which was inherited from IS AFS), I need to run allocation for this STO
Transaction: ARUN
Specify below and execute
Save the allocation results
Now we need to create the STO delivery
Transaction: VL10B
Enter your STO number and execute
13
Select the line and click on “Background” button
Click on “LOG” button to see the details
It will open a new SAP window and show below.
14
Click on the “Documents” button to see the delivery number
Delivery # - 80000418
Now by clicking “Display document” button, you can go to VL03N transaction As shown below, you will be able to see above configured data appear in the STO delivery
Do pick and PGI Now if you look at the stock overview (Transaction: RWBE), you will see that stock is now appearing under “In transit” stock type
15
Do goods receipt for that STO
Transaction: MIGO
Click on “Post’ button Now if you look at the stock overview, you will see that stock is now appearing under storage location “AW02”
