Students who are currently taking up finance subjects (FINA100, FINA101, FINA101k,FINA111)
Participants should compose a team consisting of strictly three (3) members.
•
The venue or the substitute trading floor will be at the CBA Lobby
The Stock Trading Game will be for two (2) weeks beginning on the morning of 6th of August (Monday) and ending on noon of the 16th of the same month.
PhP 190.00 will be charged per team; PhP 10.00 discount shall be given to each JFINEX member in a team.
Each team will have virtual money of PhP 5,000,000.00 which they can use to invest in PSE listed companies of their choice.
The
participants are limited to invest in the PSE Index (PSEi) stocks. (30 stocks)
Trading shall be conducted from 9:00am12:00nn (morning) and 1:30pm-4:00pm (afternoon). Transaction days will be from Mondays to Fridays only.
Previous day closing prices will be used to value morning transactions. Current closing prices will be used to determine the value of afternoon transactions. Closing prices of the actual trading day will be posted at 1:00pm of the same day.
Maximum number of transactions per day is 10 per team. (Morning and afternoon)
Minimum transaction for the whole duration of STG is 30 per team. A team whose total numbers of transactions is below 30 will be disqualified from the game regardless of their portfolio value and cash balance.
Maximum of 30% (P1, 500,000.00) of the virtual money (5,000,000.00) can be invested in a single stock.
The minimum of shares to be acquired should be in accordance to PSE board lot.
Short selling is strictly not allowed. Participants cannot sell shares of stocks that are not in their portfolio.
Corresponding transaction charges (broker’s commission, ad valorem tax, SCCP and PCD fees, and sales tax) will be observed.
Top 20 teams will be posted every day. It will be posted on the Facebook Page of Junior Financial Executives Institute of the Philippines.
Each team will be given a passbook that will reflect all their transactions as well as their current cash balance.
Two order forms should be filled up (stock’s ticker symbol, number of shares, and corresponding price per share) before a transaction can commence. › White Form = Group’s copy › Yellow Form = JFINEX copy
Transactions will NOT be executed if the passbook is NOT presented together with the order form.
If the passbook is lost, the team will pay 25.00 for the new passbook.
Passbook should be returned at the end of the day to the attending officer on the computer terminal.
Deduction of PhP5,000.00 per day of unreturned passbook will be applied on the virtual money at the end of the game.
Step 1: Decide on what PSEi stock the group will buy or sell. Step 2: Fill up two copies of transaction form, one for JFINEX’s copy and the other one for the group’s copy. Step 3: Properly fall in line to the computer terminal with your corresponding group number.
Step 4: After transacting, check the computations in your passbook and keep the group’s copy of the transaction sheet for the future use.
Only three teams will be declared as winners.
A team will emerge as the tournament champion if their remaining portfolio value plus their remaining cash balance would be the highest among other teams. The other two will be ranked second and third placers.
In case of ties, trading frequency of the teams will be taken into consideration. The team who had executed more transactions would be ranked above the other. If it will still result to a tie, both teams will occupy the same position.
The top three winners shall receive: First Place – Php 1,500 + PSE Tour Second Place- PhP 1,000 + PSE Tour Third Place – PhP 500 + PSE Tour
Any questions, objections, clarifications, and other problems regarding the said tournament should be first discussed with JFINEX officials before other parties.
