Completed final year project as “ Database of genetic diseases which causes mutation”.
Software used : Postgre SQL 8.1, Tomcat 5, Jdk 1.3 .
Focoused Area:
The project is focused on establishing a database of genetic disorder which provide a list of genetic diseases, their details, gene and protein information etc. The structure of protein is available as image and PDB files that can be downloaded and used for further analysis.
A tool for aligning the wild types and mutated sequences was also developed and is integrated with the database. The tool is responsible for identifying the similarity between two sequences using Needleman wunsch global alignment.
