Description

Tourism in Indonesia Good morning, ladies and Gentlemen. First of all, let’s thanks to God because of His blessing so we can gather here today in this speech contest. It’s such an honor for me to stand here in front of you all, therefore, I want to thank for the opportunity that has been given to me to deliver my speech with title “Tourism in Indonesia”. Before I deliever my speech, I am going to draw your attention by telling you the composition of my speeh which I derived it into three parts. They are: First, General Description of Indonesia. Second, Problems faced by Indonesia. Third, Sollutions for the Problem. Ladies and Gentlemen, Indonesia is a unique nation in the world that not like any other nation in the world. Especially because Indonesia located in the equator line that makes this nation have variated kind of nature even if it in flora and also fauna. More, the enchanment of Indonesia , is like a pearl, as the biggest archipelagic state in the world is a credit. With five big islands and more 17.589 other smalll islands including those 6000 unoccupied ones, indonesia is populated by 450 tribes speaking 583 of different local dialects. Such diversity, however amalgamaties under the very national language which indonesian. The indonesian culture which includes traditional ceremonies, dances, dresses, cuisines, language, handicrafts and others constitutes the great pride of Nusantara. Thus, with the abudance of its natural resources and wealth of cultural heritage, Indonesia is ought to show up in the world arena making those things recognized as the indonesian genuine culture and then the culture will be the attracting pointh for the wave of tourists all over the world. Ladies and Gentlemen, So as the riches nation of culture and nature in the world, Indonesia should become a rich and success nation, am I right? But the fact is different. why we are laggiing behind? Instead of seeing Indonesia as an endless experience for both cultural and natural discoveries, the world only knows Bali and almost nothing beyond. Indonesia not even the top 10 of favourite tourist destinations in the region. Something is not right, is it? We are not selling our tourism aggressive enough, there is no coordinated marketing plan to promote Indonesia as a tourist destination, Indonesia only gives a tourist 30 days on arrival and charges them $25 while Most of the countries in the region 60 days for free then corruption, both at the airport and inside the country deters visitors. No one wants to visit a place where the immigration officers are asking for money, police coming to their hotel because they did not “register” themselves.

Ladies and Gentlemen, For me the the best and fastest way to sell Indonesia is through mass media and advertisement and such efforts must be government sponsored for exampel they have to upgrade the transportation infrastructure, replace those naughty immigration officers and reconcern the rules they legalized. Considering that improved tourism will also benefit the public as a whole. The Singapore, Hong Kong and Malaysia tourism boards have been flooding their world with their enciting advertisement through TV, megazines and billboards. I don’t see why we can not duplicate their tactics. But again there is nothing like personal advertising. The surest way to get tourists is by personal invitations, friends always visit one to another. Each of us is tourist ambassador for our country. The point is, please abolish that narrow minded worse- than-colonial rent-seeking fiscal policy for our outbond travellers. So, let us be free and make connections with the outside world. If each of us can introduce ourselves to five people in foreign lands, imagine the potential impact! Ladies and Gentlemen, This is the end of my speech. I do hope this have brought some good messages for us that can be used for the proggresion of our national tourism industry. Sorry for inconvinient words that I might have said. Good morning and God bless us all.
