Connection

Description

Ethernet ports

This connection is provided through Ethernet RJ-45 connectors. Up to four 10/100 Base-T Ethernet interfaces are supported. The Ethernet ports can support both data and in-band video services on all four interfaces.

Fiber optic

This connection is provided through an SC/APC fiber optic connector.

LED button

This buttons turns all LEDs on or off.

POTS

This connection is provided through RJ-11 ports. Up to two POTS connections are supported. The POTS ports support voice services. Wi-Fi service is compliant with IEEE 802.11 standards and is enabled and disabled using a Wireless button. The Wi-Fi Protected Setup button is labeled WPS. This button enables and disables WLAN data encryption.

Management

Description The first management interface (MGMT) is a craft port where connection is provided through an RJ-45 connector. The second management interface (CONSOLE) is a craft port where connection is provided through an RJ-45 connector.

Ethernet

This connection is provided through an Ethernet RJ-45 cable. Up to 24 Ethernet connections are supported. The Ethernet ports support both data and in-band video services.

POTS

For the O-24240E-Q, this interface is an RJ-21 connector with 48 positions which support up to 24 POTS lines. For the O-16160E-Q, this interface is an RJ21 connector with 32 positions which support up to 16 POTS lines.

Fiber optic

An SC/APC fiber optic connector terminates a fiber optic connection from the P-OLT.

dc power

This connection is provided through an 8-pin UPS power connector.

grounding lug

This connection is provided through a ground wire connected to the lug.

ac power

This connection is provided by an ac power cord with a three-pronged female plug.

12 V battery backup

This connection is provided by a power cord with a two-pronged female plug.

Function There are up to four E1/T1 ports supporting unstructured and fractional E1/T1 through RJ-48C connectors. Currently, E1 connections are supported while T1 connections are not. There are up to four Ethernet port supporting 10/100/1000Base-T Ethernet connections through Ethernet RJ-45 connectors. This connection is provided through an SC/APC connector for the physical interface to the PON. A terminal is provided to connect an external –12 V dc UPS to the ONT.
