REF542plus can have a maximum of 8 analogue input channels. These inputs are divided into three measurement groups: •Measurement Group 1: channel 1, channel 2, channel 3 •Measurement Group 2: channel 4, channel 5, channel 6 •Measurement Group 3: channel 7, channel 8 Group 1 and group 2 have to be homogeneous, that means they can measure 3 currents or 3 voltages. For example, measurement of 1 current and 2 voltages is not allowed. Group 3 can get any type of signals: 2 currents, 2 voltages, 1 current and 1 voltage, etc. The input CT 0.2A is commonly used with a toroidal transformer for sensitive earth fault current measurement. CT means input for current transformer (CT2 is the 0.2A input). The instrument transformer can have ratio /1 or /5 . The ratio and the nominal current (e.g. 100/5) are selected via software in the configuration tool. The input module is the same; a different pin on the connector is wired depending on the ratio /1 or /5. VT means input for voltage transformer. Both Phase-to-ground or phase-to-phase VT can be used. SI means sensor input. The rogowsky coil is used for current sensing. The correct ratio of the rogowsky coil is selected by the configuration tool. The resistive divider is used for voltage sensing. The ratio is selected by the configuration tool. The input is the same both for voltage and current sensing, the selection is done via the configuration tool. So, it is possible to use 6 rogowsky coils, or 6 voltage dividers, or 3 rogowsky coils and 3 voltage dividers.

Among others, the following automation sequences are possible:
Automatic switching from a double radial to a simple distribution system (ATS).
Performing manual switching by paralleling the feeders with the synchro-chek function (25).
Motors shutdown upon temporary voltage loss/drop.
Prompt re-acceleration on voltage restoring within the pre-set time.
Motors restarting according to the pre-set sequence after voltage loss.
