II. Content Topic: Laws of Sines and Laws of Cosines Materials: PowerPoint Presentation, Scientific Calculator III. Learning Resources: A. Reference: e-Math: Advanced Algebra and Trigonometry IV, pages 356-366 IV. Procedure A. Reviewing Previous Lesson: Types of Triangles Based on Angles B. Establishing the Purpose of the Lesson: How to measure angles and sides of acute and obtuse triangles C. Presenting Examples: The teacher will provide examples on solving using Laws of Sines and Laws of Cosines. D. Discussing New Concepts: The teacher will present the derivation of the formula for Laws of Sines and Laws of Cosines and discuss in which cases they can be used. E. Finding Practical Application of Concepts & Skills The students will solve for the measure of angles and sides of triangles in situational problems using the Laws of Sines and Laws of Cosines. F. Making Generalizations

In solving AAS, SAS, and SSA-types of triangles, the Laws of Sines are used. On the other hand, the Laws of Cosines are for solving SAS and SSS-type of triangles. G. Evaluating Learning Students will make a scrapbook to describe strategies for solving SSA-type and SSS-type of triangles. H. Additional Activities for Application The students will research online for challenging word problems on Laws of Sines and Laws of Cosines. V. Remarks The students are expected to submit their scrapbooks 3 days after the first day of discussion. They are not allowed to use store bought materials but repurpose old items instead. VI. Reflection The students will recite in class what they have learned regarding the topic while making their scrapbooks.
