How to Get this sound Clarence Clemons was famous for his massive sound which when put together with simple melodic lines created really memorable and powerful solos. You can easily sing a Clarence Clemons solo and that's a good indication of how  powerful it it is. In this solo Clemons uses lots of note fall-offs which he plays as long chromatic runs with his typical massive rock sound. Listen closely to how he plays these and also the note bends in bars 3 and 5 and try to copy his sound. The trick is to make the run downs smooth whilst also getting quiter.
