Thanks for purchasing Spell. To begin with, the concept of spelling a card out isn’t new in any way shape or form. This dates back hundreds of years ago. All I tried to do was to improve upon this concept and make it much cleaner and fairer.

THE 13 CARD COUNT(MAIN CONCEPT): The whole idea is to get the selected cards 14th from the top, meaning that it should be “your card” then on top of it 13 cards. So 13 is the special number! And heres the reason: overall, if you think about it, when you spell out every playing card, the number of letters is around 13; some may be 14 or some 11 or some 10. And the way to manipulate these words is by adding the word “the” or a space. In the following cheat sheet, it will give you all possibilities and ways to spell the card. But before you do, please go over the KEY.

KEY: Whenever you see a letter, spell it(ex. ACE means you literally spell and deal A-C-E) _ will mean a space(ex. ACE_HEARTS, you would include the _ which is a space, as a card) When you see _, it means you must include this in the speling of the card in order to make it reach the number 14, so make sure in your patter you say something like this “spell out the king of hearts, but please include spaces because those count. Again, you’re making the spectator use the space in order to reach to your card.

CHEAT SHEET(For the cheat sheet, it may seem like a lot to remember, but there is actually a pattern you can find out, so it really isn’t that hard. But for explanation purposes, I will list out all 52 possibilities:

So that is pretty much all of them. Again there is a subtle pattern that you’ve probably seen, and once you have this down, as well as the control, bringing the selected card to the 14th position, you’ll be able to perform SPELL in no time!
