Description
SewerGEMS (Bentley)
What is SewerGEMS?
The acronym GEMS GEMS means: Geospatial Engineering Modeling System
Bentley SewerGEMS v8i is the frst and only ully-dynamic, multi-platorm (GIS, CAD
and
Stand-Alone)
sanitary
and
combined sewer modelling solution. With Bentley SewerGEMS v8i, you will analyze all sanitary and combined sewer system elements in one package and have the option o perorming the analyses with the SWMM algorithm or our own implicit solution o the ull Saint Venant equations.
Details about SewerGEM
Microstation Mode
Microstation Micro station mode lets you create and model your network directly within your primary drating environment. environment. This gives you access to all o Microstation‗s Micro station‗s drating and presentation tools, while still enabling you to perorm Bentley SewerGEMS V8i modeling tasks like editing, solving, and data management. This relationship between Bentley SewerGEMS V8i and Microstation Micro station enables extremel extremely y detailed and accurate mapping o model eatures, and provides the ull array o output and presentation eatures available in Microstation Microstation..
ArcGIS Mode
ArcGIS mode lets you create and model your network directly in ArcMap. Each mode provides access to diering unctionality certain capabilities that are available within ArcGIS mode may not be available when working in the Bentley SewerGEMS V8i Stand-alone Editor.. All the unctionality available in the Stand-alone Editor are, Editor however, available in ArcGIS mode.
AutoCAD Mode
AutoCAD mode lets you create and model your network directly within your primary drating environment. This gives you access to all o AutoCAD‘s drating and presentation tools, while still enabling you to perorm Bentley SewerGEMS V8i modeling tasks like editing, solving, and data management. This relationship between Bentley SewerGEMS V8i and AutoCAD enables extremely detailed and accurate mapping o model eatures, and provides the ull array o output and presentation eatures available in AutoCAD. This acility provides the most exibility and the highest degree o compatibility with other CAD-based applications and drawing data maintained at your organization.
Capabilities o SewerGEM
Allocate and estimate sanitary loads
Apply hydrographs, patterned patterned loads, and unit loads using a comprehensive and customizable engineering library. library. Use the LoadBuilder module to leverage consumption, ow monitoring, land use, or census data in your GIS to automatically estimate and import sanitary loads or your sewer model
Allocate and estimate storm water loads
Load models with wet weather runo ows derived rom precipitation precipitatio n using the built-in rainall distributions or user-defned rainall events. Runo ows are computed using the most appropriate appropria te runo method or the project
Analyze hydraulics and combined sewer overfows
Easily switch among multiple solvers according to the type o system you are analyzing: Saint Venant equations, convex/gradually varied ow solver (steady-state analysis or extreme ow conditions and extended period simulations), and rational/gradually varied ow solver
Analyze hydrogen sulde ormation
Identiy areas in your network that are at risk o damage rom hydrogen sulfde (H2S) ormation, which can lead to potential collapses i not addressed. Produce average concentration runs, display result maps o the network, and compare H2S ormation according to various conditions such as temperature.
Analyze inlet capacities
Calculate the proportion o stormwater runo that will enter an inlet versus the proportion that will be carried downstream in a gutter or pond on the road surace. Quickly confrm that the spread o ow in a gutter doesn't exceed design requirements.
Build and manage hydraulic models
Jumpstart the model-building model-building process and and manage your model eectively so that you can ocus on making the best engineering decisions. Leverage and import many well known external data ormats, which maximizes ROI on geospatial and engineering data and automates input data generation
Design and analyze culverts
Select rom a library o standard culvert shapes, materials, and entrance conditions, then compute culvert headwater and tailwater elevations using calculation methodologies outlined in Hydraulic Design Series Number 5 rom the U.S. Federal Highway Administration
Design and analyze low impact development controls
Model the eect that low impact development controls have in retaining runo beore it enters the stormwater s tormwater system
Design and analyze pond and outlets
Leverage PondMaker's PondMaker's guiding process through the conusing maze o pond design steps by ollowing the step-by-step process process that provides constant eedback on how the design is progressing. Set the maximum outow rate, estimate storage, and check the outlet design and fnal design.
Design sanitary sewers
Minimize capital investments by simply entering your design restrictions: velocities, slopes, cover depths, and pipe and manhole matching osets. SewerCAD/SewerGEMS recommends the most cost-eective pipe sizes and invert elevations, avoiding unnecessary pipe trench excavation, while meeting design restrictions.
Design storm water systems
Minimize capital investments by simply entering your design restrictions: velocities, slopes, cover depths, and pipe and inlet matching osets. The sotware product recommends the most costeective pipe sizes and invert elevations, avoiding unnecessary pipe trench excavation, while meeting design restrictions
Simulate water quality
Simulate the generation, inow, and transportation and treatment o any number o user user-defned -defned pollutants, such as total suspended solids or heavy metals
