7.

Antennas

A pair of 1.8m (5'11") slotted-waveguide antennas that focus the radio frequency energy into a fan-shaped beam. The lower antenna transmits the radar signal. The upper antenna receives the radar signal. A High Powered Amplifier (HPA) is also fitted to the transmitting antenna to boost the transmission signal and achieve greater range.

8.

Visual Capture System (VCS)

Contains the camera that captures photographs of the scan area.

9.

Elevation Actuator

Moves the antenna in the elevation axis (up and down).

10.

Radar Electronics Module (REM)

Contains the SSR computer, the control system, and communications components. componen ts. Also contains the elevation and azimuth motor controllers.

11.

User In Interface

Houses th the co computer to touchscreen di display. The UI is optional for Series-3 systems and is an orderable extra. Virtual keyboard software is provided on all SSR.

12.

Weather Station (WS)

Provides atmospheric information in SSR-Viewer and triggers the antenna head to park in high winds.
