Reporting to the CEO, I managed the structuring and negotiating of debt and equity for new real estate ventures and oversaw the creation and implementation of the company's joint venture investment activities, including marketing to debt and equity investors, structuring transactions, and providing projections, quarterly reports and financial insight. In addition, as a result of my ability to build teams, establish and develop consensus around objectives, and lead people to achieve those objectives, I developed profitable relationships with banks and private investors and successfully raised capital and structured private placements.

FIRST BANK & TRUST Sioux Falls, SD April 1998 September 2006 President I was part of the initial investment group purchasing this locally-owned and operated bank formerly known as National Bank of South Dakota, US Bank and First American Bank & Trust, developing it from one banking location with $30 million in assets to five banking locations with up to 100 employees. Spearheading the acquisition of another bank holding company resulting in three added locations in 1998, I performed the pre-acquisition financial analysis and post-acquisition activities to ensure a successful integration. I led the continuous financial development of the organization by developing and implementing goal-focused strategies, directing all branch banking operations including marketing, sales, human resources, operations and information technology. I coordinated all branch financial and budget activities and contributed to total organization financial strategies and decisions until we sold the bank holding company in 2006 with total assets more than $250 million and loan portfolio of over $200 million. Directly responsible for branch P&L Provided input into holding company P&L as a part of senior management committee. Ensured commercial banking operations were exceeding client’s expectations by planning and developing policies surrounding investment, loan and interest reserve policies. Centralized all company operations to streamline processes at remote locations. Successfully started a “de novo bank” in a downtown location (Sioux Falls, SD).
