A SEMI-DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN MAPEH 10 HEALTH Prepared by: Santos, Carlos Leo B. I. Learning Objectives At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to: a. identify the different national health issues and concerns b. recognize the importance of addressing nations’ health issues and concerns c. perform a short act about a specific national health issue, concern or trend II. Subject Matter A. Topic: Existing National Laws Related to Health Trends, Issues, and Concerns. B. Reference: MAPEH (Health) G10 - PIVOT Module, pg. 6-10. C. Materials: Laptop, PowerPoint presentation, and video presentation. III. Procedure A. Preliminary Activities a. Daily Routine 1. Prayer 2. Greetings 3. Classroom Management 4. Checking of Attendance B. Review of the previous lesson C. Motivation Activity: Sharing Time Before the lesson, ask any health-issues that the students experienced as adolescents. Let them identify and write some examples of these concerns in a clean sheet of paper. After couple of minutes, ask random students to present and explain what they have been written on the paper. D. Lesson Proper Start the lesson by explaining the definition and importance of policies in a community or society. Then, present a video presentation showing the different national health issues, trend and concerns. After presenting the video, ask the students if they know any existing national health-related laws connected with the health issues and concerns presented in the video. Then, flash the lesson using PowerPoint presentation, explain each the different health-related laws and their importance to the society and to the citizens.
E. Activity/Application Group the students into four and each group should choose and act a specific national health issue, concern or trend. They will be given a maximum time of five minutes to prepare. Call each group to perform the short act they prepared and they will be graded according to the given criteria. F. Generalization Ask the students what they have learned about the lesson and the significance of all the health-related laws to them, to their community and to the country. IV.
Evaluation Students will answer a 10-point quiz in the given Google Form link. The quiz is consists of identification questions. Identification 1. Provides for criminal offenses committed online. 4. Prohibits physical and emotional harm and abuse as initiation to a certain social group 5. Provides for the regulation of narcotic and other related substances being sold/imported in the country 6. Penalizes vehicle users who will not wear safety belts while on the road 7. Provides for the inclusion of environmental education programs in various national institutions 8. Provides assistance for the prevention and control of AIDS 9. Supervises the legal production of cigarettes in the country. 10. Protects children from any malicious acts online.
