SAFETY WARNING PERSONNEL AND PRODUCT SAFETY ARE PRIMARY OBJECTIVES AND THEREFORE THE FOLLOWING PRECAUTIONS MUST BE TAKEN PRIOR TO CARRYING OUT THIS PROCEDURE: All personnel must acquaint themselves fully and strictly adhere to all company sites’ HEALTH AND SAFETY AT WORK REGULATIONS, together with other specific requirements detailed in this procedure. All work is to be carried out within either a dedicated test bay area with authorised personnel entry points, or an area adequately protected from unauthorized access with a visible cordoned zone and adequately displayed warning signs detailing the test type and associated hazards. The lifting and handling of the equipment must be carried out with extreme caution and with regard to the safety regulations. All personnel in contact with the hydraulic fluid must wear suitable protective clothing and gloves if required; regarding all the necessary precautions detailed on the fluid data sheets. All peripheral equipment shall be assembled in a safe manner. Parts and related drawings shall be reviewed to identify any trapped pressure area. For work, which includes the use of pressurised fluid, compressed gas and/or electrical voltage, all necessary suitable and adequate precautions must be taken prior beginning of work. All personal working on the equipment must have the required experience, training and qualifications. ENSURE THAT NO HYDRAULIC PRESSURE IS APPLIED TO ANY OF THE CONNECTIONS BEFORE COUPLINGS ARE MADE – UP OR DISCONNECTED. ENSURE THAT NO ELECTRICAL POWER IS APPLIED TO ANY OF THE CONNECTIONS BEFORE CONNECTIONS ARE MADE – UP OR DISCONNECTED

II. BENEFIT A. Test Stump Body The test stump body has the same internal preparation regardless of the size and the thread type. It has a centralizing cone to receive the saver sub and one free vent port .The test port is 1/2”-14 NPT up to 5000 psi working pressure, or 1” SF-1000-CX AUTOCLAVE above 5000 psi working pressure. A fitting adapter can be used to adapt this port with customer requirements. Warning: The vent port is closed only when the saver sub is installed to avoid trapping pressure below saver sub. DO NOT use the thread on vent port. B. Saver Sub

The saver sub can be used in all test stump bodies which include the typical internal preparation. The saver sub has the same external profile for all threads. It has a ring groove on the top face to limit the torque (5000 N•m) when the saver sub is installed in the test stump. On the external profile, two O-rings ensure a good sealing. It can be used as a sacrificial part when the thread is worn. C. Support Plate The support plate can be round, square, rectangular or any other shape with or without fixation holes (customer to specify at time of order). SD010404-01

III. FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION Make sure the test stump is fully equipped with the stud /nuts fitted. Screw the saver sub with its mandrel (5000 N•m max. torque), and run down the assembly through the entire BOP stack.

Typical Arrangement

The funnel on the test stump helps centralizing during final installation of the saver sub. Rotate ¼ turn counterclockwise to lock the saver sub on to the test stump assembly.

The operator can proceed with the testing of the pipe ram packer and bottom connections. Close the pipe ram around the test mandrel, then apply test pressure through the test port on the test stump and/or choke and kill lines.

After the testing of the pipe ram packer is complete, bleed the pressure to zero. Then open the pipe ram and unscrew the mandrel. The saver sub will remain in the test stump housing.

The operator can proceed with the testing of the shear ram packer. Close the shear ram, then apply test pressure through the test port on the test stump and/or choke and kill lines.

After testing the shear rams packer, bleed the pressure. Open the shear rams and screw the mandrel on the saver sub; the saver sub is unlocked in the test stump housing. Once the mandrel contacts the saver sub, the last 1/4 turn unlocks the sub from test stump.

Remove the saver sub through the stack. The water is released through the vent hole.

IV. ASSEMBLY PROCEDURE A. Equipment Preparation Prior to Assembly The work area should be clean and well-lit. 1. Remove all dirt, grit and oil from ring grooves and inner surfaces of the body. Clean detergent and fresh water should be used for cleaning. High pressure air may also be used if it is dry air. 2. The back face and the mating face of the hub or flange must be free of galling, dents, upset, or raised edges as damage in these areas may prevent proper makeup of the joint. Use magnetic particle examination if necessary. In case of a defect, call your nearest Cameron representative. 3. Sealed elastomer containers should not be opened until they are required for assembly. This is to prevent contamination and damage to the seals.

B. Assembly Body Test Stump (1) 1. Screw a nut (4) on stud (3), then install stud through the body test stump 2. Tighten torque on another nut (4) on stud (3) (Refer to 1.D for torque value). Use Molycote grease. 3. Install ring gasket in groove. C. Assembly Saver Sub (2) 1. Install two O-rings (5) on the saver sub. 2. Install O-rings (6) on the saver sub. D. Install Saver Sub (2) on the Test Stump (1) 1. Install saver sub (2) on test stump (1) prep. 2. Rotate the saver sub (2) ¼ turn counterclockwise to lock it. The saver sub is locked when the position indicator is in front of lock marking.

V. DISASSEMBLY PROCEDURE 1. Inspect the ring groove. 2. Clean the test port. 3. Rotate the saver sub (2) ¼ turn clockwise 4. Remove the saver sub (2) and clean the sealing area (counter bore) in the body (1). Check and remove the O-rings (5) and (6) on the saver sub if damaged.

VI. STORAGE 1. Flush the test stump saver sub box connection, and inspect the gasket groove, back face and the mating face of the hub or flange. 2. Disassemble the test stump. Clean and inspect all parts. Studs, nuts and hubs which have visible cracks, or any visibly worn or deformed threads must be replaced. If in doubt, contact your nearest Cameron representative. 3. Flush and inspect the gasket and hub or flange connection using magnetic particle examination if necessary. In case of defect, call your nearest Cameron representative. 4. Reassemble the test stump. Spray internal surfaces, hub or flange, ring gasket, and components of connector with oil. 5. Install metallic protector on the hub or flange connection, and protect the test port.
