All jobsite work activity must be in full compliance compliance with Otis World Wide Jobsite Safety Standards (WWJSSS). When carrying out this procedure particular consideration should be given to control of the elevator, LOTO, hoisting and rigging, ensuring public safety (signs and barriers), working in close proximity of unguarded rotating equipment (sheaves) and the wearing of appropriate PPE (hand gloves, etc.). It is required that the mechanic(s) carrying out the repair complete the appropriate JHA for the task at hand to familiarize themselves with the work environment. If you are unsure of the WWJSSS standards in regard to the work task at hand, immediately stop work and refer to your Supervisor.

OTIS Elevator Cardinal Rules ALWAYS ALWAYS

4.  TOP OF CAR ACCESS PROCEDURE

Except for the low overhead version of the product, the top of car access can be done according with OTIS WWJSS. 5.  PIT ACCESS PROCEDURE

The pit access can be done according with OTIS WWJSS. 6.  SPECIAL TOOLING REQUIRED FOR MAINTENANCE

For some maintenance tasks described in this manual, it will be required to move the car in ERO mode. ERO box is not present in every unit since Schindler considers it as a tool. So, it will be necessary the mechanic to carry it with him when these kind of tasks are a re going to be performed. ERO box can be obtained from EPC with the part number SHR-434031. The ERO box has to be plugged instead of the XESE connector present in the SMIC board.

LANDING PANEL 7.  HOW TO MAKE CALLS FROM THE LANDING The embedded service tool allows making car c ar calls from the landing panel b by y following the process described  below:

B. MAINTENANCE TASKS 1. TRACTION BELTS INSPECTION SCH-3300 uses V-shaped traction belts composed by 12 steel wires coated with a polyurethane layer. They are called by Schindler STM ( Suspension and Traction Media). According with manufacturer instructions,  belts must be visually examined at least each 12 months in order to be sure there are a re not n ot damages on them. Some examples of potential damages are:

Steel cord break. Replace always.

Belt rusted/corrod rusted/corroded. ed. Replace always.

Coating damaged. Transversal breaks. Replace whether there are more than five breaks  per meter.

Steel wire break. Replace whether there are more than three broken wires in 20 mm.

Edge of the belt damaged. External steel cord visible. Replace always.

Coating damaged. Belt  punched by an object. Replace always.

Coating damaged. Longitudinal breaks. Replace always.

V shaped profile damaged or worn out affecting to the belt guidance. Replace always. Rust due to belt wear. Replace always.

According with the manufacturer instructions, belts have a lifespan of a certain number or runs or 15 years from the manufacturing date. The number of runs for replacement depends on both the sheave diameter and the suspension: Traction sheave diameter

The number of runs at the moment of belts replacement must be written down in the maintenance book of the lift. It can be checked in a runs counter placed in the cabinet or through the embedded service tool in menu 40 (configuration), CF11PA1 (trip counter). It is shown in runs x 100 (i.e: 1200 means 120.000 runs).

3.  TEST OF MANUAL RESCUE OPERATION The manual rescue procedure is described in a sticker on the cover of the maintenance panel. Please, follow these instructions in case of doubt.

The rescue operation is performed by an electric device called PEBO (Pulse Electromagnetic Brake Operation) which opens and closes the brake in short intervals. The button and switch used for this operation are located on SEM board in maintenance  panel. For safety reasons, in case of overspeed contact in governor is engaged, rescue operation is not possible. 1.  Make a call for sending the car to the top landing. Leave the car to open and close the doors in order to be sure there are no passengers in car. 2.  Put the lift in ERO mode and move the car downwards to an out of landing position (blue led LUET is off). 3.  Disconnect the main switch (JH)

7.  Release the DEM button and put the JEM switch in OFF position. The lift will  perform a correction run.

4. TEST OF AUTOMATIC RESCUE OPERATION OPERATION Automatic rescue operation is included as standard in Schindler S chindler 3300 product. When a power failure happens, the car must be moved at reduced speed to the nearest landing in the favorable sense of unbalance. 1.  Make a call for sending the car to the top landing. Leave the car to open and close the doors in order to be sure there are no passengers in car. 2.  Put the lift in ERO mode and move the car downwards to an out of landing position (blue led LUET is off). 3.  Switch the power off by disconnecting d isconnecting the main switch (JH). 4.  Place a shunt between the pins 6 and 7 on LDU connector of SEM board. Put the lift in NORMAL mode.

The lift will close the doors and will perform a correction run.

5. TEST OF EMERGENCY CAR LIGHT LIGHT AND ALARM In SCH-3300, the emergency car light is the alarm button illumination. 1.  Make a call for sending the car to the top landing. Leave the car to open the doors and then turn off the car light by disconnecting SIL switch. Check alarm button is illuminated.  2.  Press the alarm push button and check che ck communication with call center is established.   3.  Reconnect SIL and check the car light turns on again.

Check also in the pit that the switch of the governor tension device is in normal position. Resetting KBV switch (governor overspeed contact) will require shunting temporarily the contact (shunt in SMIC board, KBV.1-KBV.2) for getting access to the governor in Inspection mode. 10. Remove the shunt and put pu t back the lift in normal operation. After a correction run, car should be in id idle le ready for attending calls.

Warning: Check LUET led immediately after plugging the TEST-MGB connector. If it turns off it means brake is not able to hold the car on its position with one only shoe and car is moving up by unbalance. If this is the situation, quickly remove the TEST-MGB connector and leave the lift out of service.

C. BASIC CALLBACKS SOLUTION 1. HOW TO CHECK THE SAFETY CHAIN FROM LANDING LANDING PANEL Safety chain contacts in the landing panel are connected to SMIC board. All the safety chain contacts in car (including car door lock contact) are connected in series so they cannot be checked independently from the landing panel. The safety chain voltage is 24V with safety chain closed and 60V when it is opened. The reference point is 0Vdc (i.e LDU.5). The possible verifications are as follows: 1.  KSS.1  Beginning of safety chain. IUSK  checking  checking point. 2.  KSS.2 = SKS.1  Slack belt contact. 3.  SKS.2  Pit safeties (Stop, ladder, governor tensioner). ISPT  checking point. 4.  SKS.3  Hoistway doors locks. RTS checking point. 5.  SKC.1  Beginning of safety chain in car (including car door lock). 6.  SKC.4 = KBV.1 End of safety chain in car (including car door lock). 7.  KBV.2 = ESE.2  Governor overspeed contact (car and counterweight, if exists). 8.  ESE.3 = SEM.5  Stop and ERO switches (bridged to ESE.2 if XESE plug is connected). 9.  SEM.6  Emergency rescue contacts. End of safety chain. ISK   checking point.

There is a sticker on the cover of the landing panel showing the main contacts of the safety chain

2. HOW TO RESET FATAL ERROR There are some faults that, even when the cause of the error has b been een cleared, leave the lift out of service. Some of them require a reset to be performed on SCPU board. Some others require a Fatal Error Clearing Process through the embedded service tool:
