1. When Parvati asked the Rishis to tell the results of a native who has Jupiter, Mercury, Sun and Saturn in Sagittarius, troublesome Venus and Mars in Capricorn, Ketu in Aries, Moon in Taurus with Aries as Lagna, Vasishtar started replying. Notes: The Janma Nakshatra is given as Krittika 4th pada and the balance of Sun dasa at birth is given as 2 months in verse 30. Based on this and taking

Will attain fame also. 6. சுதர்களு ோண் ால்பைண்டு மதாசகயும் மூன்றுஎன்ம ாம் தைாகும் இைண்டுதானும் சகயின்றி வாழ்வானாகும் நிதிபூமி மசர்ப் ானாகும் நீள்நிலம் வறுசேகாணான் தியது பசய்வானாகும் ார்வதி மகட்டிடாமய. 6. He will have two male and three female children. Two will pass away. Will be living without enemies. Will accumulate wealth and property. Will not see poverty in the world. Will construct a house for living. Listen, Parvati!

தந்தததைப் பற்றி 7. தாசதக்குத் தாைம்பைண்டில் தரித்திடும் இசளயாளின்று நீதியாய் சேந்தன்தானும் நிகழ்த்துமவா மிவன்தந்சத ஓதுமவ னவன்குணத்சத உசளச்சலாம் சிவந்தமேனி தீதிலான் எதிரிக்கஞ்சான் சீலனாம் யூசகசாலி. 7. Native’s father will have two wives and from the younger wife, there will be children. We will tell about the characteristics of native’s father. Will have a reddish complexioned body. Will have no evil mind. Will not be afraid of his enemies. Will have good manners. Will be an erudite person. Note: We have already seen in Chart No. 7, that the 3rd house represents the wife of the father. Readers may refer to the reasons stated therein. We have also seen that if the 3rd house is heavily afflicted, there is a possibility of father getting more than one wife. Based on the reasons stated above let us study this chart. The 3rd house lord Mercury is afflicted by Ketu mainly by its 9th aspect. Ketu is the co-lord of the 8th house. Ketu being placed in the house of Mars acts like Mars. Mars, also owns the 8th house. The exalted Mars also aspects Ketu and confirms its influence over Ketu. The lord of the house where Mars is placed is Saturn and his association with Mercury also influences this 3rd lord. Jupiter is also lord of 12th house. Will have fitting and cunning words. Will be interested in having a comfortable food. Will be an obedient person. Will excel in education. Will be devoted to the six headed God Lord Subramanya.

9. தந்தமும் தைளபோக்கும் சாதிப் ான் சிலதுசங்சக வந்திடு ோமிபைண்டு வர்க்கத்சதக் காப் ானாகும் விந்சதயாய்ப் ம சவல்லன் மேவுவான் தலவாசங்கள் முந்துோல் மைசகயுண்டு முனிவுண்டு உடமனதாழ்வு. 9. Will have teeth akin to the tusk of an elephant. Will clarify certain doubts. He will have two mother-in-laws (Meaning that either he will have two wives or his wife’s father will have two wives). He will protect his clan. Capable of talking jokingly. Will visit holy places. Will have lines of Vishnu in his palm. Will get angry but will calm down immediately. ஜாதகனின் குணங்கள் 10. இந்பநறி யுசடயானுக்கு இவனுமே பசனிப் ானாகும் அன்னவன் குணத்சதக்மகண்மோ அழகுளான் சிவந்தமேனி தன்பசால்லு ேடக்கமுண்டு சதரியன் அதிகயூகி ப ான் ணி யிச்சசயுள்ளான் ப ரிதான தலங்கள்பசல்வன். Characteristics of the native 10. To such a person of character, the native will be born. I will tell his qualities. He will be beautiful and will have reddish complexion. Will talk obediently. A bold person. Will be highly intelligent. Will be interested in gold and ornaments. Will have authority. 12. பசால்லிடு வசனபேல்லாம் சுத்தோம் பசாகுசூனுண் ான் எல்சலகள் விருத்திபசய்வன் ஏவலாள் சணமயருள்ளான் தல்லிபசால் தடுக்கானாகும் சான்ம ார்க்கு அன்னமீவன் புகருவார் ைாசர்தானும் புகன்றினிர் மயாகபேவ்வாறு. 12. He will be pure in his words and wil be interested in having a delicate and fastidious food. Will increase his land holdings. Will have many servants and farm labourers. Will not contradict the words of his wife. Will provide food to the great and learned. Parasara asked how you said all these yogas or fortunes. ஜாதகனின் யைாகத்திற்கான காரணங்கள் 13. பசப்புவீர் முனிமயநீதான் சனிகுரு மசர்ந்த்பதான்று ஒப்புடன் ேதிமசயுச்சம் ஓைாறு முகத்மதானாளில் பேய்ப்புடன் உதித்த ாலன் மவந்தனாம் ரிவண்டியுண்டு தப்பித ேணுகாதாகும் சசடமுனி தடுத்துச்பசால்வர். Reasons for the fortunes of the native 13. Parasara continues Tell me, Rishi. Vasishtar replied that because of the conjunction of Saturn and Jupiter and additionally Moon and Mars are exalted. Native was born in Krittika nakshatra which is the Nakshatra of Lord Muruga. (It is actually stated as the day of the six headed Lord Subramanya which can be taken either as Krittika Nakshatra or Shashti tithi). There is a good Raja Yoga. Will have a vehicle run by horses. Evils will never approach him. 14. (Continued from previous verse)… Moon and Mercury are in Sakata Yoga (Shashtaka or 6-8 position) how the yoga will be effective? Parvati says that since Jupiter is in Sagittarius we can say that the results will happen. Because Moon is in the 2nd house of family, the native will have long life. With dignity he will run his family. Will be famous. Will always be successful in all his endeavors. Notes: For Aries Lagna Jupiter is the 9th lord and Saturn is the 10th lord and their conjunction creates the famous Rajayoga which goes by the name of Dharma Karmadhipathy Yoga. According to Nadi principle, the conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn for any Lagna creates a Raja Yoga. Nadi deals mainly through the karakatwa of the planets and the principle of Bhava is not applied there. The important karakatwa of Jupiter are success, fame, wealth, pious things etc. Saturn indicates karma, profession, business etc. So, when these two planets conjoin they promote both the karakatwa. Sakata Yoga as explained by Dr. B.V Raman is caused when Moon is in the 6th or 8th or 12th from Jupiter. In this chart, Moon is in the 6th from Jupiter and hence Sakata Yoga exists. However, the verse refers to the position of Moon and Mercury forming Sakata Yoga. Results of Sakata Yoga are: The native loses fortune and may regain it. He will be ordinary and insignificant. He will suffer from poverty, privation and misery. He will be stubborn and hated by relatives. Two points emerge from this verse. One is that Jupiter placed in Sagittarius produces Yoga. Siblings of the native 15. The native will have seven co-borns. Two brothers and three sisters will live and others will die. We will talk about them in the later part. The rishi addresses Parvati as the one who gave birth to the furious Lord Muruga and tells her to listen to the doubts then. ஜாதகனின் திருமணம் மற்றும் அவளின் குணங்கள் 16. ஈபைட்டு ஆண்டுதன்னில் இவனுக்குப் ாரிவாய்க்கும் நாரியும் தந்சதவர்க்கம் நாட்டுமவாம் குணத்சதக்மகளாய் சீறிடான் ப ாறுசேசாலி தீைமில் லாதபநஞ்சம் ோறிடான் தன்வார்த்சதக்கு வயதுமே தீர்க்கபேய்தும். Native’s marriage and characteristics of his wife 16. He will get married in his 16th year. She will come from the relation of his father. Kindly listen to her characteristics. She will never get angry. A very patient woman. Will have a mind without valour or courage. Will not go back on her words. She will have a long life. Notes: Marriage at the age of 16. The native will be running Mars Dasa which starts when he is 10 years and 2 months and will last till his 17 year and 2 months. He crosses 3 Antardasa during his 16th year which are of Mercury, Ketu and Venus. Exact month of marriage has not been mentioned. However all the planets involved viz. Mars, Mercury, Ketu and Venus are capable of bringing about the marriage. In his 16th year the 4th house gets activated and its lord Moon is in the house of family. The dasa lord Mars is aspecting the 4th house in the natal chart. From Moon, Mercury is 2nd lord of family, Mars is 7th lord of spouse as well as 12th lord of bed comforts and Venus and Mars are placed in the 9th house from Moon and Ketu is in the 12th house to Moon. In his 16th year Jupiter in transit will be transiting his Lagna from where he will be aspecting the 7th house of marriage. 17. பசயமுனி தடுத்துச்பசால்வார் சத்தேம் ைாகுநின்று வியோக ஏமழான் த்தில் மிகுசைத்தி மலநிற்க

யமுண்டு முதல்ேசனக்குப் ருகிடும் இைண்டாம் ாரி தயவுடன் எந்தக்காலம் சார்ந்திடும் இருேசனதான். 17. Jeyamuni objects and tells that because of the presence of Rahu in the 7th house and the 7th lord Venus is in a movable Rasi, there is danger to the first wife. There will be a second wife. So, he asks when he will get that second wife? Notes: It is clearly stated in classics that if the 7th house or its lord or Venus or any two of this gets afflicted and without strength in the horoscope the spouse dies leading to a second marriage. In this chart 7th house is tenanted by Rahu, 7th lord is Venus and he is with the 8th lord Mars. ஜாதகனின் இரண்டாவது திருமணம் மற்றும் புத்திரர்கள் 18. முப் து ஆண்டுதன்னில் முதல்ேசன கர்ப் த்தாமல தப் ாது காலனாடு மசருவாள் அந்தஆண்டில் சேப் டி ேசனவிவாய்க்கும் ோதுரு கிசளயிமலதான் பசப்புமவன் புத்திை ாகம் பசனித்திடும் ஆறுதாமன. Native’s second wife and issues to him 18. When the native is of 30 years, his first wife will die during pregnancy. In the same year he will get his second wife. She will come from his mother side relation. I will tell about his children. He will get six children. Note: Native’s 30th year begins on 23-12-1930. He will be running Rahu dasa, Venus Antardasa during that time. See the relationship of these two planets with the 7th house. One is placed in the 7th house and the other is the lord of the 7th house. Venus has conjoined Mars who is exalted and Mars is the 2nd and 7th lord of maraka for the 7th house represented by his wife. So the first wife died during that year is clearly seen. 19. அதுகள்ஆண் ால்பைண்டு அணுகிய கன்னிமூன்று இதுஐந்தும் தீர்க்கபேய்தும் இயம்பினீர் முதல்ேசனக்கு புதல்வர்க ளுண்மடாபசால்வாய் பி ந்திடு மிைண்டுதாமன

எதோகும் அவ்விைண்டும் அவ்விதி நடப் பதன்ன. 19. Of them two will be male and three will be three female and these five will have long life. One rishi asked to tell whether there will be children from the first wife. Vasishtar replied that two children will be born. Both will die. Thereupon the rishi asked what is the reason for such a birth and then death of these children? ஜாதகனின் முன் ஜஜன்மம் 20. முன்பசன்ேம் விதியினாமல மேவிற்று அந்த்த்மதாஷம் என்னஊழ் பசய்தானத்சத இயம்புவீர் முனிமயநீதான் பதந்திசச யிலங்சகத்தீவில் பசனித்தனன் சவசியமசயாய் கன்னிசக விதசவம ாகம் கலந்துமே கருவுதங்கி, Previous birth of the native 20. That is because of the bad karma in previous birth. Because of that this blemish came upon him. What was the bad karma that the native did tell the same asked the rishi. He was born in the southern island of Srilanka in a vysya community. He had sex with a widow and she got pregnant…(Continued in next verse). 21. ண்டிதம் அதற்குச்பசய்ய ாசவயும் ேைணோனாள் துண்டோய் ேச மயார்சா ம் மநர்ந்தது மவறுகாணான் அண்டர்ம ால் ைாேர்பூசச அணுகிய மசதுக்மககி சண்டந்தன் திக்குச்பசன் ான் தசலநான்மகான் வரியப் ட்டு, 21. (Continued from previous verse)… And tried to remove the pregnancy by resorting to medicine. On account of that, that woman died. Because of that the curse of the Brahmins fell upon him. We do not see any other matter. He went to the holy place of Rameswaram where the Devas worship and had a holy dip in the Sethu ocean and performed Puja to Rama. He got relinquishment of his bad karma and reached his house. Again he was created by Brahma… (Continued from previous verse).

22. பி ப் னா மிந்த ாலன் ம சின முன்னூழ்மதாஷம் தரி டும் முதல்ேசனதான் சார்ந்திடும் இைண்டாேச குவீர் அதற்குச்சாந்தி அப ௌயமவ ோட்மடாம்யாங்கள் கருவசத யழித்தமதாஷம் கண்டிதம் நீங்காதாமே. 22. (Continued from previous verse)… this native was born. The bad karma of the previous birth came upon his second wife. Rishi asked the remedy to remove that blemish. We will not tell the remedy, replied the rishis. Blemish of the destruction of the created fetus will never leave. தாைாரின் குணங்கள் 23. வந்தது வந்மததீரும் ோதுரு கணத்சதக்மகண்மோ பசந்திரு ேகள்ம ாபலாப் ம் தீைந்தன் ேனதுக்மகத்மதாள் பநாந்தவர்க் குதவிபசய்வள் நிேலிநன்ன டக்சகநன்சே தந்துசண ஆண் ாபலான்று சாற்றுமவாம் கீழ் ாலில்லம். Characteristics of mother 23. In this matter the native has to bear the results of that karma. Who can change the destiny? We will tell the characteristics of the native’s mother. She will be looking like Mahalakshmi. She will be dear to her brave husband. She will assist those who are in trouble. Her goodness will be explicit from her unblemished behavior. She will have one brother. Her house is in the eastern side. தாைாரின் முன் ஜஜன்மம் 24. முன்பசன்ேம் கசடயூர்தன்னில் உதித்தனள்மகா சவசியவர்க்கம் அன்னமும் அதிதிக்கீந்து அச்பசன்ேம் வமில்லாேல் துன்னிய காலனாடு மசர்ந்துமே பிைேன்லக்கம் அன்னம்ம ால் இக்குலத்தில் அணுகினாள் என்றுபசால்மவாம். 24. In her previous birth, she was born in Thirukkadaiyur in a high vysya family. She will provide food to the guests. In that birth she lived without any sins and reached the abode of Yama. There after created by Brahma, she was born in this birth as a swan. (Probably the rishi for the sake of poetical rhyming the tamil word for swan has been added or we can take it that she was having a gait akin to that of a swan). தாைாரின் மறு ஜஜன்மம் 25. ேறுபசன்ேம் விரிஞ்சிதன்னில் ேச குல முதிப் ாளாகும் அரிசவக்கு இச்பசன்ேத்தில் அசடந்தபுண் ணியங்கபளன்ன வைன்ேனம் ம ாமலவாழ்ந்து ோதுவும் விைதமேற்றும் அ ேதி லிச்சசயுண்டாய் அணுகுவாள் பிைம்ேமசயாய். Next birth of mother 25. In her next birth, she will be born in Virinchipuram in a Brahmin family. What were the meritorious deeds that she gained in this birth? She lived understanding the requirements of her husband and did things according to his wish. She performed and observed many fasts and engaged herself in virtuous and righteous deeds and because of that she took birth in a Brahmin community. தந்ததயின் முன் ஜஜன்மம் 26. தந்சதயின் பூர்வம்பசால்மவன் தக்மகால ேருகில்கீழ் ால் பிந்திய ஊரிமலதான் பி ந்தனன் பைட்டிவம்சம் வந்தவர்க் கன்னமீந்தும் வளமுள குடும்பியாகி முந்தின தலங்கள்பசன்று மேவினான் காலனாடு. Previous birth of father 26. We will tell about the previous birth of the native’s father. He was born in a place east of Thakkolam. He took birth in Reddy community. He offered food to those who came to him. He had a

prosperous family and visited many holy places of Shiva and finally went to the abode of Yama. தந்ததயின் மரண காலம் 27. சிைநான்மகான் வரியப் ட்டுச் பசனித்தனன் கர்ணமசயாய் ேைணேட் டுலகிமலதான் ேன்னைால் உய்வானாகும் அறுஅஞ்சு இைண்டுஆண்டில் அந்தகன் க்கல்மசர்வன் ேறுபசன்ேம் தில்சலதன்னில் ேச குல முதிப் ானாகும். Time of death of father 27. Again, created by Brahma, he was born as the son of a Karnam in this birth. He will be doing service to the King until his death. He will die in his 32nd or 60th year. (The Tamil word conveys both the years). Next birth will be in a Brahmin community in Chidambaram. 28. இந்தமதார் பசன்ேம்தன்னில் இடுக்கண்கள் சிலர்க்குச்பசய்தும் வந்ததால் ேச க்குலத்தில் வருகும்கா ைணங்கபளன்ன நிந்சதகள் சிலர்க்குச்பசய்தும் மநமியில் தலங்கள்பசன்றும் முந்திமனார்க் குதவிபசய்தும் முதல்விக்குத் பதாண்டுபூண்டு, 28. In this birth he created some trouble to some people. In spite of that what is the reason of his birth in a Brahmin community in the next birth? In spite of his committing wrong things to somebody, because of his visit to many temples and many holy places and also because of the assistance done by him to the elders and his devotion to the Goddess…(Continued in next verse). தாைார் மற்றும் ஜாதகனின் மரண காலம் 29. வருவதால் ேச க்குலத்தில் வருகுவா பைன்றும்பசால்மவா ேருேோய் நாற் தாண்டில் ேடிவாைாம் அன்சனதானும் அரு து மூன்றுஆண்டில் அணுகிய மீனோதம் திருேக னுடலுமேகும் பசப்புமவா மிவன்பின்பசன்ேம்.

Time of death of mother and native 29. (Continued from previous verse)… He was born in a Brahmin community. (From here the rishi talks about the native) … His mother will die in his 40th year in a secret manner without any knowledge to others. The native will die in his 63rd year in the month of Pisces (March-April). We will tell about his next birth. Notes: In verse 27, the death of the father is stated. If we are to take the meaning of the Tamil verse with respect to the age as 32, the rishi probably might refer to the age of the native. At that time native will be running Rahu dasa, Venus Antardasa. Rahu is in the nakshatra of Jupiter who is the 9th lord of father. Venus is placed in the 2nd house to the 9th house. So it is quite possible that his father might have died when he was 32 years. The second interpretation of 60th year looks to be an improbability. His mother will die in his 40th year. He will be running Jupiter dasa, Saturn Antardasa at that time. From the 4th house of mother Saturn is the 7th lord of maraka. Jupiter, the dasa lord is placed in the 8th house of longevity from the 4th lord as well as karaka Moon. In his 40th year 4th house will get activated and hence his mother died. Native will die in this 63rd year. He will be running Saturn dasa, Sun Antardasa. For Aries Lagna Saturn is Badhakasthana Lord being lord of the 11th house. But according to Pulippani, if such a Saturn is placed in a Kendra or Kona, he looses the Badhaka powers and he should be able to produce only good results.
