There are no planets in Utpäta etc nakshatra but the Moon as lord of the Amsha paata is in Moola Gandaanta showing that when the danger comes the Shravana nakshatra defect will show on the body i.e. as per the Nara chakra this is the *EYES* . The rapid deterioration of the vision is a confirmation of the drastic effect of the gandaanta. Now look at the Vimçottari dasha –
Vimsottari Dasa (started from Moon): Moon MD: 2001-08-28 - 2011-08-29 Antardasas in this MD: Moon: 2001-08-28 - 2002-06-27 Mars: 2002-06-27 - 2003-01-26 Rah: 2003-01-26 - 2004-07-28 Jup: 2004-07-28 - 2005-11-27 Sat: 2005-11-27 - 2007-06-27 Merc: 2007-06-27 - 2008-11-27 Ket: 2008-11-27 - 2009-06-27 Ven: 2009-06-27 - 2011-02-24 Sun: 2011-02-24 - 2011-08-29 Moon dasha started in 2001 and this has shown the start of the serious Gandaanta effetcs although the other diseases and constant ill health from childhood is the confirmation of this effect . The Gandannta is in the first Leaf of the 8-petal lotus and affects the native himself. The details of the Gandaanta Puja has been explained by Parashara in BPHS. Other Jyotish Guru's can also fill you in this. Resolve and do this for your brother. The shula dasha shows that Lord Shiva can save him and it is up to you all to invoke the grace of the Lord. First thing to do – Go to www.rudraksha-ratna.com and ask Neetu to give a nice 11 mukhi rudraksha (nepal, light colour) in silver setting for brother. Ask him to worship Lord Shiva with the mantra *om namah shivaaya mahaarudraaya ram mam yam sah* 1008 times and wear this on Tuesday morning. The rest will follow after that and you should be able to reverse the doctors verdict. Shivani be strong and fight this... With best wishes,

Arudha lagna By Pt. Sanjay Rath Arudha Lagna - The Personal image 1. Arudha lagna (AL) is the image of a person (or any body) which is the reflection of the ascendant about the lord of the ascendant. The ascendant is the physical personality & intelligence while the ascendant lord is the applied intelligence (Paka lagna). The arudha shows the way we are viewed in this world due to our overall personality and resources as well as due to its use and modifications. 2. There are arudha for each of the twelve houses and they represent the images that exist in our minds. For example, the arudha of the fourth house represents the home environment at childhood. If this is in a sign of Venus then it indicates a strong presence of mother and her family in shaping childhood. 3. The arudha lagna represents the final record of all events of ones life that form the image of the person. This implies images of other houses adding to the image of AL. Impact of darapada (A7) is crucial for relationships, finances and social success.
Planets & the arudha lagna Moon is the significator of AL. Planets like Moon & Jupiter who have a good reputation associating with arudha lagna protect the reputation and image while planets like Saturn & Rahu with a bad name spoil the image. In general the relationship of planets with the Moon determines their ability to influence the arudha in a good or bad manner. The status of the arudha lagna lord is the status of the native. Planets exalted in the arudha lagna or the 7th from it promise reputation and success in their fields as well as consequent good fortune. Debilitated planets in arudha ruin the image. Benefic planets in the 1, 2, 4, 5, 7 & 8 houses and malefic planets in 3 & 6 houses give good results if they are strong in rasi & navamsa. Instead if the planets are weak in debility in the rasi
or navamsa, the results will be contrary. On the other hand, weak benefic planets in the 3 & 6 houses from arudha lagna give rajayoga. The tenth house is good for benefic planets only and even exalted malefic planets in this house cause trouble. Any planet in the 9th house from arudha lagna gives good results and protects the image while they give good income in the 11th house and losses and expenses in the 12th. Birth family & arudha Further reading Co-born: Younger co-born from 3rd house & lord and elders from 11th house and lord. Children from the 9th house from Upapada Protector from the 9th house from arudha lagna¦and so on. Transits & arudha Transit of Saturn in the 1st, 4th, 8th & 10th houses from lagna and arudha are inauspicious. Transit of Jupiter in quadrants from arudha lagna is a blessing. Transit of Rahu in trines to arudha lagna gives rajayoga and material blessings while that of Ketu in trines is excellent for spiritual pursuits and renunciation. The Sun & Moon in trines to any arudha causes it to manifest Change of image with time 1. The image or arudha is maya or untruth and cannot be permanent. It changes with time based on dasa. 2. Every dasa affects the arudha by (1) house placement from it and (2) argala (planetary intervention) 3. Narayana dasa, Vimsottari dasa and other such methods of progression are useful tools to decipher the changes in image. 4. Natural years of carakaraka replacement also cause major changes in the arudha. 5. Change in jobs, attainment of position and authority, marriage and various other events cause changes in the image depending on the association of their respective images with the arudha lagna. 6. Study dasa from standard texts.
Meaning & Concept of Arudha 1. Rasi/Bhava Arudha o Mirror image i.e. image of person in this world is his Arudha Lagna, Image of mother is A4, Father is A9 and so on. o
How do these images intervene with his image? Argala & Virodhargala
2. Graha Arudha o Image of other people Calculation Arudha Pada of the various houses o Riders (a)Swasthe Daraha, (b) Sutasthe Janma

Rules for dual Lordship
Graha Arudha of Various houses o Rules for dual lordship shall apply o Many like my grandfather used both Graha Arudha Nomenclature 1. Bhava Arudha – 1st house: Arudha Lagna, Lagna Pada, Pada – AL, 2nd house: Dhana Pada; etc. till Upapada –UL, 2. Graha Arudha –Ravi pada, Chandra pada, Guru Meena pada etc.. are used in the nadi literature. What do they mean? 3. How to draw the Rasi & Graha Arudha Chakra? · Rasi Arudha Chakra has true Graha positions. Thus it is the interaction of the images of his personal self and others close to him with the world. It shows how the world perceives you and how the world around you shall react to what you do. · Graha Arudha Chakra has true Bhava positions. Thus it is the interaction of the images of the various people as perceived by the native on himself. It shows how you perceive the world around you and how you will react to the various environmental inputs. Focus on Rasi arudha Chakra REsults
1. Results of planets in different houses from AL: · Generally benefics in 1,2,4,5,7,8,10, and malefics in 3,6 & 12 indicate Rajyoga. · Reverse shall occur when these planets are debilitated in Navamsa i.e. Vipareeta Rajyoga/neecha Yoga can occur. · All planets, and even an Upagraha is beneficial in the ninth and shows prosperity and protection. It should be used for protecting your image. · All planets in 11 show sources on income & in 12 show sources of expenditure. · Malefics in 6 show corruption while benefics show honest income. · Moon is the Karaka for AL. · Planets in 7 & 12 show those who shall oppose you/ cheat you at home 2. Results of planets in different houses from Upapada. · Just like the above, but the sun is Karaka and is always beneficial to UL. · Exalted planets in UL, show spouse from a well known family; if debilitated reverse holds good; if none then the lord of UL shall show the status of spouse’s family.

Sri L K Advani, Home Minister of India was born in Scorpio Ascendant & Aries Moon sign . Such a combination is said to be blessed by Sri Chamunda Devi (The Warrior Goddess) and gives him robust health, dynamism and bellicose patriotism. Rahu exalted in the 9 th house from Arudha Lagna (Virgo - AL) & 7th from Lagna brought him into the center stage of national politics. However, being a natural malefic it denied power. With the advent of Jupiter Dasa his popularity and power has been rising since Jupiter is the 5 th lord ruling power and authority and is placed in the 5th house Pisces. It is also placed in the 7th house from AL thereby demolishing enemies and adding to his might. In the Navamsa (D -9 chart) Jupiter is exalted but placed in the 8th house, this ensures power and authority, but may indicate some ill health during the period of Moon & Ketu. In the Dasamsa (D-10 chart) Jupiter is the lord of Lagna placed in the 12th house under affliction from Saturn and Rahu indicating renunciation of power. Thus, during Jupiter dasa Saturn antardasa
(November 1994 to May 1997) although BJP was the largest party in the Parliament, power had to be renounced by the party due to lack of support (Saturn) and Sri Advani also did not become a member of the Cabinet due to a court case that he won on a later date. Mercury is very strong in the chart causing Vipareeta Yoga as the 8th lord in 12th house. It also conjoins lagnesh Mars and 10th lord Sun and will give their result of Rajyoga. Being in the 2 nd house from Arudha Lagna (AL) and as lord of AL it gives Simhasan Yoga (Throne). It is exceedingly strong, placed in own sign in a quadrant in both Navamsa & Dasamsa. Thus, in Jupiter dasa, Mercury antardasa (May 1997 to August 1999) the BJP came to power and he is the Home Minister of the country. Thus all speculations about a premature end of BJP Government is not accepted, as this Simhasan Yoga will continue till August 1999. The forthcoming period of Ketu antardasa in Jupiter dasa (August 1999 to July 2000) will see the courage, perseverance and daring (Parakrama Bala as Ketu is in 3rd from AL) of Sri Advani. Like a war elephant he will stride across the length and breadth of India. The terrorists of Kashmir will be defeated and peace will be reestablished in the mountainous regions of India. As Ketu is in 6 th house from Jupiter in Dasamsa the Secret services / Intelligence services of the country will receive a boost / feather in their cap and the service atmosphere / prospectus will become better. Subordinate services will also be upgraded or will have a cadre review. Some talk of instability and enemies plotting will trouble him till 8th January 1999, thereafter till November 1999, with the blessing of Sri Chamunda he will overcome all problems and will gain popularity
Sri A.B.Vajpayee: An Astrological Analysis ©Sanjay Rath
INTRODUCTION The first part of the article titled the Future of India appeared in the Times of Astrology (June 1998 issue) which was available in the market in the first week of May. Readers will appreciate that some of the predictions like ‘the acquisition of Nuclear Bomb and other arsenal’ and ‘problems related to the health department’ have already come true. The learned reader will appreciate the use of Narayana Dasa as a fine predictive tool in Vedic Astrology.
Sri A.B.Vajpayee the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India needs no introduction. However, it is pertinent to note that there are at least three horoscopes in the market allegedly that of the PM. The most authentic data so far has his birth on the Christmas of 1926 (25 th December 1926) at 5:03’AM (55 Ghati taking Sunrise at 7:03’AM) at Gwalior. The birth horoscope is at Chart 1. The Lagna and Hora Lagna are conjoined in Scorpio while the Ghatika Lagna is in Leo. Mars aspects the Lagna, Hora Lagna and Ghatika Lagna from Aries by Sign sight (Rasi Dristi) and becomes a perfect Yogada. No doubt that he was destined to become the Prime Minister of India in Mars's antardasa of Jupiter dasa. It maybe noted that the Moon is placed in Leo in the Ghatika Lagna (Power & Authority) but it does not aspect the Lagna or Hora Lagna. Thus, although he had the largest majority in parliament during Moon antardasa, he was unable to sustain the Rajyoga and the first stint as Prime Minister lasted only for 13 days. The Moon and the Ghatika Lagna are also placed in the 12th house from the Arudha Lagna (Virgo). This shows that the native would not hesitate to renounce power and makes the person saintly. He has recently announced that he would not stand for elections again! How many sitting Prime Ministers will have the moral fiber to renounce politics for the future? This is a far-reaching ethical decision for a healthy democracy. While most critics will view the presence of the eighth lord Mercury in the ascendant as very negative; it is pertinent to point out that as the Chara Atmakaraka Mercury promises high ideals and a very high position if placed in the ascendant. The mutual aspect between the Chara Pitru Karaka Mars and the Chara Atma Karaka Mercury has resulted in a powerful Rajyoga. This gives extraordinary oratorical abilities and skills to debate on any topic (Mercury) besides giving daring and executive abilities (Mars). Jupiter in the Navamsa Lagna makes the native a veritable genius having knowledge in many disciplines while Rahu in the fifth gives the knowledge of machines or foreign affairs. The latter is quite true, as Sri Vajpayee has been a part of the parliamentary committee foreign affairs for quite some time now. Even in the present Government, he has retained the foreign affairs portfolio for the present. The Moon is vargottama in the eleventh house in Leo showing that the transit of Saturn in Pisces (Kantaka Sani) between February 1996 to April 1998 will be a very frustrating and
challenging period. Saturn would place umpteen thorns in the path to the Prime Minister-ship, but thanks to the antardasa lord, Mars these were be overcome in the last minute.
DIVISIONAL CHARTS The Saptamsa (Chart 2, D-7) has the eighth lord Saturn in the ascendant while there is an exchange between the lords of the ascendant and the fifth houses with both in debility. No doubt that he is has remained a bachelor and has dedicated his life for the nation. The fifth lord with Saturn shows the likelihood of having an adopted child. The Dasamsa (Chart 3, D-10) is examined for power and position. Scorpio rises in the Dasamsa with the ascendant lord Mars in the tenth house in Leo. Venus is also in a quadrant in its own sign in Taurus in the seventh house while Jupiter, the lord of the second and fifth house showing authority is also in a quadrant in the fourth house. During the dasa of Jupiter,
Sri Vajpayee has been in Parliament and the helm of politics. He became the Prime Minister on a Thursday during Jupiter dasa, Mars Antardasa and Venus Pratyantar dasa. Although Saturn is exalted, its placement in the 12th house is very good for renunciation and not for Rajyoga. Sri Vajpayeeji has taken an excellent decision to retire from politics after the present stint as Prime Minister.
The swearing-in chart
The Vajpayee Government was sworn in on Thursday March 19, 1998 at 9:32’: 33’’ AM IST at New Delhi (Chart 4). The Muhurat for the swearing in seems to have been chosen very well, as it is a quadrant from both the Lagna and Dasamsa Lagna. In fact, it is the same sign as occupied by the seventh lord Venus in the Dasamsa Chart and the Pratyantar dasa of Sri Vajpayee was that of Venus at that time. The ascendant lord in the ninth house shows that the Government will be establishing Dharma (ethical methods of working). Let us examine the longevity of the Chart as per canons on this subject. Lagna Lord + 8th Lord = Venus (Movable) + Mercury (Dual) = Short life Lagna + Hora Lagna = Taurus (Fixed) + Gemini (Dual) = Long life Moon + Saturn = Scorpio (Fixed) + Pisces (Dual) = Long life
Thus, the two sutras indicating long life shall dominate. Further, if the Moon is in the first or the seventh house, the longevity shall be determined by the Moon & Saturn pair to show long life. The Atmakaraka is Saturn and it is not placed in the 1st, 3rd, 7th or 9th house and Vipareeta Ayur yoga is not applicable to the chart. The Maximum longevity of the Lok Sabha is 5 years and each Shoola Dasa shall be for a period of 5 months. The Shoola dasa will begin from Scorpio in the seventh house, as it is stronger than the ascendant. The Purna Ayur Khand is from the ninth Shoola dasa of Cancer to the twelfth Shoola Dasa of Libra (i.e. 40 months to 60 Months longevity). Based on the above, we may predict the following: The longevity of the present government is between 40 months to 60 months from the date of swearing in. The first Shoola dasa of Scorpio between 19 March 1998 to 19 August 1998 has Rudra Yoga due to the presence of the Moon and the aspect of Venus. Thus Apamrityu bhaya (fear of premature end of the Government) shall be caused by the Moon (the Moon in debility indicates a powerful Lady – Smt Jayalalitha!). However, the Government shall survive for the period indicated by the Ayur yoga. The Moon also indicates natural disasters in the northwestern direction
(From Ujjain) ruled by it. The storm in Gujarat is also an astrological pointer.
NARAYANA DASA OF SWEARING-IN CHART Since the Purna Ayus of the Chart is for 5 years, the Narayana dasa period equivalent for each sign gained by a planet is 15 days instead of 1 year. Thus, the Narayana Dasa of the Swearing-in chart is as follows: -

BILL CLINTON THE STARS SHOW IT ALL ©Sanjay Rath The chart of Bill Clinton which has 03.47 AM recorded as the Birth time, has been corrected to 03.44 AM. The important considerations are as follows: If the Atmakaraka conjoins the Navamsa Lagna, then the native is born in a Royal family, but if the lord of navamsa Lagna conjoins the Atmakaraka, the native even if born in an ordinary family, will become a King. This and various other considerations have gone into fixing the Lagna of Bill
Clinton. Normally I do not like to discuss private matters. However, in view of the Scandal, and the extent of exposure, there is nothing to HIDE! UPAPADA: The second from Upapada shows the cause of Break and /or disturbance in the marriage. The Upapada of Clinton is in Leo. The second from Upapada is Virgo with the debilitated Venus and Mars showing his sexual connection with other women (Venus) and very passionate encounters...with Mars. The fifth lord Mars shows that the lady will be a subordinate. TRANSITS: Transit Saturn was in the eighth house from Upapada during this period. This transit is Kantaka for the Upapada. DARAPADA: The Darapada shows the person/place of this event. This is in Libra with Venus conjoining the tenth lord Mars (Profession or work place). The lord of Darapada is Venus with Mars going to the second from Upapada. Thus there is a definite link between Sex (Darapada) and the tension in marriage (2nd from Upapada). The powerful Sun in Upapada speaks volumes about his wife. Dasamsa & Vimsottari: Jupiter is placed in the sixth house in D-10 and generates a Vipareeta Rajyoga
History: 1) Father died about 3 months before his birth: Rahu is in Bhagya Pada (A9) as Venus is debilitated in the third house with Mars. From the ninth house, the 1st and 10th lord is in the eighth and the 8th lord is debilitated- nil longevity. The Sun is also in the 12th house in D-12 chart. Moon placed in the tenth house (2nd from the 9th house of father) is in a debilitated Navamsa. 2) In his 3rd Year, Mother left to take a nursing course.( Venus-Ketu). The period of planets in the third house can be bad for parents and debilitated Venus is of no help. Malefics in the fifth cause separation from mother. Ketu in the fifth timed the period. In D-12, Ketu is in the Badhaksthana in the 11th house i.e. also 8th from 4th and is also the lord of Badhak for Mother. Why Nursing? Moon is in the fourth house in D-12 showing caring/nursing/hotel etc as the area of work for mother. 3) Rajyoga: 10th lord aspects 9th and 9th lord aspects 10th house.3rd level of Dharmakarmadhipati Yoga. Saturn in Cancer in Lagna- Rajyoga. Gajakesari Yoga etc. One planet in 2nd and 4th each. Rajyoga that will fructify at a young age. 4) Arudha Lagna in Libra. Third from AL is Sagittarius aspected by the Debilitated Venus & Mars which are also placed in the third from Lagna. Younger brother was a cocaine addict. In the D-3 chart, Cancer Lagna is an even sign. Count in the reverse for younger co-born. The third in the reverse is Taurus and its lord Venus is placed in the seventh (opposing position) with Rahu and mars in Capricorn showing drug abuse, and many other bad habits weak personality. 5) Very close to Mother..4th lord in D-12 is placed in Lagna; the Matrupada (A4-Leo) is placed in the 11th from the Arudha Lagna (AL-Libra). 6) Studied in law school during mars dasa as Mars aspects the ninth house in Rasi Chart and is controlling education in the D-24 Chart. Mars -Saturn saw discontinuity in education as he was expecting to be drafted into the Armed forces for the Vietnam war. Jupiter in the 7th in D-24 made him go out for higher education as Saturn in the Lagna under affliction by the nodes, brought him back home for war effort.
7) Saptamsa Lagna is Pisces and the fifth lord is placed in Virgo to indicate a daughter as the first child. 2 pregnancies are indicated in the chart and the second could be lost due to the MercuryRahu conjunction in the 2nd house in trines to the 6th lord (killer for children) Sun. The Lagna of the children is likely to be from the dominant planets in trine s to the Saptamsa Lagna. Venus in the fifth confirms the Lagna of Chelsea Clinton (Daughter) as Libra a Venusian sign. She was born in Rahu-Saturn-Venus. (Normally Pratyantar will be of a planet in trine to D-7 Lagna or Lagna lord). 8) Dasamsa: Taurus Lagna with Yogakaraka Saturn in the second and Rahu in the fifth shows his rise to power in Rahu- Saturn (1979-81) as governor of Arkansas. Saturn is a powerful Yogakaraka. His second term was in Rahu Ketu and Rahu Venus.Ketu is in 11th house as Venus is the lagnesh in the 6th- Victorious and powerful.
NOTE: The transit of SATURN over the PAKA LAGNA (sign occupied by the lord of Lagna) is not good while that of JUPITER over the RAJYAPADA (A10 in Aquarius) will surely give temporary relief during its retrogression.... The antardasa of Ketu in Jupiter dasa is till March 1999. Any guesses of what can be expected between January-March 1999.And when it conjoins debilitated Saturn in his tenth house in April 1999! Clinton will come out of the controversy. THE PREDICTIONS WERE:Next election expected on 5.11.96 (Jup-Merc-Sun) He will win. (TRUE) This second term will be very difficult especially during the Guru-Chandala period (Jup-Ketu April.10.1998 to March 16.1999) Loss of reputation as jupiter is in AL having the Papargala of Ketu (5th house rules Love Affairs!!). He will get out of the controversy. (TRUE) Position will improve after that in Jup-Ven till November 16, 2001. Rahu will be routed. Younger co-born problem. Marriage problem.

The Horoscope of HH Prince Charles has Cancer Lagna with the Moon in the tenth and also placed in the seventh from the Arudha Lagna showing fame. The affliction of the Moon by Rahu tends to tarnish this image and during the Rahu Dasa Rahu Antardasa (January 1995 to October 1997) the estrangement and separation from Princess Diana led to considerable loss of reputation in the public eye. Rahu is placed in the seventh from the Arudha Lagna and the experience will make Prince Charles more spiritual and God fearing during the Rahu Dasa.
LOSS OF SPOUSE Saturn the lord of the seventh as well as the Upapada shows that HH Prince Charles would marry a commoner. The length of married life is seen from the second house from the Upapada Lagna (UL). The Upapada is in Aquarius and the second is Pisces with its Lord Jupiter placed in a dusthana in the sixth house. The sign Sagittarius shows danger of "fall from vehicles or heights". Pisces is also aspected by debilitated Venus showing that weak moral values in sexual matters will cause estrangement between the couple. Venus also rules vehicles and shows the ultimate end of the Princess in a car accident. The place of death
of the spouse is seen from the third and eighth house from UL. The eighth lord from UL is Mercury and is placed in a movable sign showing that the place of death is in a foreign land (France). The Shoola Dasa for spouse start from the Lagna and the dasa of the sign having Jupiter or its trines is normally very evil for spouse. Jupiter is in the 6th house and the sixth Shoola Dasa of Sagittarius is from the 46th to 54th age of the Prince. The antardasa of 9 months each commence from Sagittarius and are regular. The sixth antardasa is from 14 August 1997 to 13 May 1998 and is of Taurus, which is the eighth house in the Navamsa chart. Venus is the Lord of Taurus and is placed in debility in the eighth house from UL and it aspects the second house from UL by sign sight. The tragic end was inevitable. Readers can compare this chart to the horoscope of President Bill Clinton that appeared in one of the earlier issues of JN. The Lagna, placement of Lagna Lord Moon and Venus are the same. In both the charts debilitated Venus is either in the second house from Upapada or aspects the second house from Upapada by sign sight. Both these famous personalities have suffered from scandals about their sexual lives. By a strange intervention of fate, both have come out of the storm. President Bill Clinton's recent acquittal as predicted (Jupiter shall protect) is yet another feather in the cap of Vedic Astrology.
NARAYANA (CHARA) DASA The Narayana (Chara) Dasa of Virgo was from 14 November 1986 to 13 November 1997 and with it ended the phase of life related to the 12 th house from Arudha Lagna (Self undoing), debilitated Venus (low sexual morals) and marriage with Princess Diana (she had a Virgo Lagna). The present Narayana Dasa of Leo (14 November 1997 to 13 November 2006) is the second house from the ascendant and shows increase in the fortunes of the Royal family, it is the 11th house from Arudha Lagna and shows gains from lands and other sources of income. The Royal family regains its lost popularity through a series of good steps. Sick enterprises and delayed projects will gain a fresh lease of life. A very good effort will be made to re-establish old values and traditions. However, Saturn aspects and afflicts the fourth house (both by planetary and sign sight), the Matripada (A4 in Leo) and the Moon (by sign sight). Being a natural malefic, the effects of Saturn will be felt in the latter part of the Dasa, say 2003 to 2006 AD. This coincides with the Matri Shoola Dasa of Aries having the Moon afflicted by Rahu, Saturn & Mars (either by conjunction or sign sight) confirming the danger to the health of his mother. The Vimsottari Dasa of Rahu - Mercury is from December 2002 to July 2005. Treat the fourth house as the Lagna of Mother. Rahu is placed in the seventh from it both in Rasi and Dwadasamsa and can be adverse for the health of parents. Mercury is the third lord in the Rasi chart and is placed in debility in the second from the fourth house in the Dwadasamsa (D-12 Chart). This is expected to be an adverse period in health matters for HH Queen Elizabeth.
WILL HIS HIGHNESS INHERIT THE CROWN?
The Crown cannot be equated with the inheritance of lands, properties and other material assets alone. This has a higher meaning as the Head of State and is to be seen from the Rajya Pada (A10 in Gemini) and the 8 th house (inheritance) in the Dasamsa (D-10 Chart). The Rajya Pada (A10) is lorded by Mercury and is aspected by a powerful Jupiter from Sagittarius. Rahu and Jupiter are in mutual aspect and Rahu Dasa can give the results of this Jupiter. Jupiter and Mercury are also in the 8th house in Dasamsa as Rahu is placed in Lagna (Head, Crown). Thus, during Rahu Dasa Mercury antardasa (December 2002 to July 2005), the coronation should be expected. The Sun, lord of the present Narayana Dasa of Leo, is the natural and temporal Atma Karaka. Thus, Leo Dasa (1997-2006) is capable of taking Prince Charles to the throne. Neechabhanga Rajyoga effects of the Sun can be expected during the present Leo Dasa as Saturn (Planet that gets exalted in Libra, the sign of debility of the Sun) and Mars (Lord of the 7th house from the sign of debility of the Sun) are placed in quadrants from Leo. Thus, around 2003 to 2006 AD, Prince Charles is expected to be the King of England.
OM TAT SAT
DR KARAN SINGH- A lifetime of sacrifice © Sanjay Rath
Dr Karan Singh was born on March 9, 1931 at 4:15’ PM at Cannes, Paris (43N33; 07E01). The lagnesh Sun in the seventh house gives an unsettled life as he strives for the perfect elusive peace for his troubled home state Kashmir. In the navamsa, the Sun is in Taurus in the eleventh house showing that stability and rise will begin after marriage. The second lord Mercury also in the seventh house again indicates Dhanyoga and he was born in a wealthy family of the erstwhile Maharaja of Kashmir. The exchange between the fourth and twelfth lords Mars & Moon with both of them in debility resulted in the loss of the Kingdom as it acceded to the Republic of India. Since Mars is also the ninth lord, his father Raja Hari Singh did this honorable act. The yoga involving the fourth house fructifies at an early age and it was but natural that this happened in his teenage
years. Venus is the lord of the Arudha Lagna and is placed in the ninth from it indicating his rise of fortune and rise in politics during the Venus dasa. The present dasa of the Moon placed in the seventh from Arudha Lagna does promise some fame and popularity, but not without problems. There is also good longevity of 81-90 years at least in the chart. Jupiter and Mercury in trines to the Navamsa Lagna produce a man of sterling character and one well versed in various fields of knowledge. Ketu gives the much-needed spiritual inclination. He is well versed in all the traditional literature and is often delivering lectures on the Upanishads etc. The luminaries and Mars are well placed in the second and eleventh houses to add to his growth. Venus in the tenth gives stable fortunes. The present antardasa of Jupiter in the dasa of Moon started in September 1998. Excellent results are expected and he will become very popular amongst the people. Being the fifth lord in Dasamsa and being placed in the Lagna therein leads to a powerful yoga for the acquisition of power. Some ill health around April 1999 is not ruled out.

The present dasa of Virgo (1993-2000 AD) is very beneficial with Ketu in it and Venus in trines in the fifth house. Mars in the eleventh promises success in all competitive matters as Jupiter in the
tenth gives excellent reputation. Rahu in the Badhak Rasi indicates tremendous obstacles from some foreign sources or other communities. This problem persists throughout Virgo dasa as Saturn in the fourth from dasa Rasi shows troubled domestic/ home affairs. Since the sign is the fifth from the Arudha Lagna, he will be very concerned about the people of J&K. Benefics in the third and sixth from dasa Rasi give tolerance and spiritual development. He has been speaking in various seminars on subjects like the Manduka Upanishad. Since the Moon is debilitated, Rajyoga is indicated showing his close association with the people in power. Specifically, the period July 1998 to May 1999 shows troubled domestic/ home affairs while the period May 1999 to March 2000 shows harmony and good governance for his people. Thus, there is no doubt that in the latter half of next year efforts will be made to bring peace to J&K. To have the best results, worship of Sri Ganapati and Sri Ram is advised.

DR. Murli Manohar Joshi Birth Date : 5th Jan. 1934; Birth Time : 10: 17 AM IST Birth Place : DELHI; LAT: 028 N 40' LONG: 077 E 13'
The horoscope of Dr. Murli Manohar Joshi has tenth lord Mars exalted in 12th house combined with lords of ascendant (Saturn), 4th & 9th (Venus) and Rahu. The strength of 10th lord & its conjunction with Ascendant lord (also strong in its own sign) shows independent views while its conjunction with Venus results in the Dharmakarmadhipati
Yoga. Natives born in this yoga will be God fearing, truthful and very industrious. Venus is also the 10th lord from the Moon sign. The Arudha Lagna is in Sagittarius & its lord Jupiter, a natural benefic is placed in the 10th house (Throne / Rajya) from it. The Lagna (self/position) and Ghatika Lagna (power/authority) are in samasaptaka while the Hora Lagna (wealth) is divorced from them. This shows that the native can never be motivated by wealth to compromise or misuse his position or authority. Such honesty is a rare phenomena in politics & its occurrence in the horoscope of a present day politician shows that India is in the threshold of a new phase where its high spiritual ideal of truth (OM TAT SAT or SATYA MEVA JAYATE) will find a strong place in the body politic. Mars in the 5th from Navamsa Lagna makes him bellicose while Venus in trines makes him patriot. In the Dasamsa Rahu is placed in the 12th house showing that he is very straight forward person but may suffer due to the intrigues of others during Rahu dasa August 1979 to August 1997. Jupiter in the 9th house in Dasamsa shows that Dr. Joshi will be completely faithful to his political obligations & guru's while Rahu as 9th lord in the 12th house shows that some people will try their level best to create differences between him & his leaders. Fortunately the Dasa of Jupiter has just started from Aug.'1997 and with Saturn moving out of Rajyapada (A10) in April 1998 as Jupiter moves into Pisces in June 1998 better days lie ahead. The conjunction of four planets in the sign other than a Quadrant does not give Pravrajya yoga. However it brings the native into close association with saints and sanyasis whose blessings will be of great valve during Jupiter dasa. After a small sojourn in Aquarius, Jupiter will return to Pisces in January 1999. This will mark a change in thinking for the BJP and Dr Joshi will recover some lost ground in 1999. At present he is a Cabinet Minister in the Vajpayee Government. Great days lie ahead.
RESEARCH CAPSULE BENEFIC PLANETS IN THE SIXTH HOUSE FROM ARUDHA LAGNA
Counting the number of signs from the lord of Lagna as it has gained from Lagna we arrive at the Arudha Lagna. For example, if the lord of Lagna is in the third house, counting three signs from the third house, we arrive at the fifth house that becomes the Arudha Lagna. There are two riders to this firstly, if the Arudha Lagna is in the Lagna itself (i.e. the Lagna lord is in the first or seventh house). The tenth house should be treated as the Arudha Lagna. Secondly, if the Arudha Lagna is in the seventh house (i.e. the lord of Lagna is placed in the fourth and tenth house), then the fourth house should be treated as the Arudha Lagna. The Arudha Lagna plays a vital role in determining our states/job in this material world. The standard text like Brihat Parasara Hora Shastra, Jaimini sutras etc states that malefic planets in the third and sixth house give courage and consequential employment in the army etc. Natural benefics placed in the third and sixth houses do not make a person cowardly, but produce belief in ahimsa (i.e. the path of non-violence) and give rise to spiritualism and saints. A number of situations can arise by the placements of planets in the sixth house from Arudha Lagna. These are as follows: (i) Single Planet in the Sixth House from AL If a natural malefic is placed alone in the sixth house from AL, there shall be yoga during its period resulting in growth of lands, good crops and agriculture, physical prowess and success in battles. However, Parasara adds that the nature will receive illegal gratification like black money etc. CHART 1: MALE BORN ON NOVEMBER 12, 1934 AT CUTTACK
In chart 1, the Arudha Lagna is in Pisces with a single malefic in the sixth house. The native is very brave and is known for his prowess in court cases. He hails from a very poor family and during the vimsottari dasa of mars, inspite of a severe bout of small pox, stood second in the board exams there by qualifying for a state scholarship. He got admission into BITS, Pilani and became an electrical engineer. Later in Rahu dasa Mars antardasa, he attained a very high position in the private sector, but left the job with advent of Jupiter antardasa. Again in Jupiter dasa Mars antardasa he became the rising star in business and industry to crash subsequently in Jupiter-Rahu period, when allegation of financial irregularity were made against him. Thus, a natural malefic like Mars in the sixth house from Arudha Lagna gives very good results in the material word. Similarly, a natural benefic in the sixth house from Arudha Lagna gives spiritualism, renunciation and practice of ahimsa. (ii) Two or more Planets in the Sixth House from AL (a) Only Benefic Planets in the Sixth House from AL Two powerful benefic in the sixth house from AL. especially Jupiter, Mercury or Venus can cause powerful pravrajya yoga (renunciation) especially if they are very strong like being in exaltation in Rasi/Navamsa. In CHART 2 (SRILA PRABHUPADA) Arudha Lagna is in arise and two powerful benefics Mercury and Venus are in the sixth house from it. Since Mercury is exalted pravrajya yoga is indicated and exactly as ordained by the stars in Mercury dasa Venus antardasa he attained complete sanyas (renunciation). Mercury being the lord of sixth dispositing the pravrajya yoga shows attachment to Sri Krishna and hence, Venus in debility with Mercury shows Sri Radha. Since these planets are in the tenth house from Lagna, they have given him undying fame in the form of the Vaishnav movement ISKCON. CHART 2. SRILA PRABHUPADA.
In CHART 3 (SWAMI VIVEKANAND) The Arudha Lagna is in Leo with Mercury and Venus in the sixth house. Venus is placed in exaltation in the Navamsa. Thus, pravrajya yoga as indicated by the stars occurred and since Saturn is the lord of the sixth dispositing the pravrajya yoga, indicates the attachment to Sri Kali, the divine mother. CHART 3. SWAMI VIVEKANAND
(b) Both Benefic and Malefic Planets in the Sixth House from AL While only benefics in the sixth give pravrajya yoga, benefics present deny the same and give success in battles. When both benefic and malefic planets are present, mixed influences prevail and the native is churned between the materialistic world and spiritualism. If the benefic planet is not only afflicted by a malefic, but is also weak by being in debility in Rasi/Navamsa, a powerful Vipareeta Rajyoga in generated. CHART 4. TONY BLAIR (PRIME MINISTER OF UK) Date: 6th May 1955; Time: 2 PM; PLACE: LONDON.
In
Chart 4 (TONY BLAIR PM OF UK). The Arudha Lagna is in Sagittarius with Mars and Mercury is not only afflicted, but is also placed in also placed in debilitated Navamsa. With the advent of Mercury dasa, he became the Prime Minister of UK. CHART 5. NAVEEN PATNAIK (CABINET MINISTER OF INDIA)
Date 16th October 1946, Time: 1 AM, CUTTACK,
INDIA.
In CHART 5 (Shri NAVEEN PATNAIK, Cab. Minister of India). The planets Mercury, Jupiter and Mars conjoin in the sixth house from Arudha Lagna. Exactly like the horoscope of Mr. Tony Blair, both Mercury and Jupiter are not only afflicted by Mars, but are also placed in debilitated Navamsa, thereby attaining the ability to give a powerful Rajyoga. Simultaneously Saturn in also placed in Lagna in Cancer showing the potential for very high political offices. During Saturn dasa Jupiter antardasa, he suddenly rose to became a cabinet minister is the Government of India. The dasa of Mercury is to commence from early 2000 AD and it is expected that he will become the Chief Minister of Orissa.
EVERY SAINT HAD A PAST AND EVERY SINNER A FUTURE © Sanjay Rath
Self-realisation and the search for the Ultimate Truth are described as Adhyatma Yoga. Karma Yogi’s always strive for perfection in whatever they do and it is this perfection which is a manifestation of Divinity for the Lord is perfect. Maharishi Parasara advises the use of the Vimsamsa (D – 20 chart) for examining Upasana (worship). However, we are not attempting to examine individual spiritual development, but instead, are trying to identify the karma (action or deeds) through which this will manifest. The Dasamsa (one-tenth division) which delves into the karma of the horoscope, is an important tool to examine the extent and direction of the Adhyatma Yoga (action for spiritual attainments). The proverb " Every Saint has a past and every sinner a future " aptly describes the scope to include every individual horoscope. However, such a vast scope would make the study cumbersome and in order to make the study more meaningful it is necessary to restrict the scope to those horoscopes where religiosity is the predominant feature. 2. The Arthatrikona and the 4th & 7th houses determine profession. Aspects on the tenth, and the Mokshtrikona (4th, 8th & 12th) should also be considered. Ketu, being the natural Mokshkarak is the Karyesha. Ketu influenced by Saturn produces a Tapasvi or one who will strive for spiritual attainments. This could be by conjunction / aspect or by the placement of Ketu in Capricorn Dasamsa which is ruled by Saturn and is also the natural karma house. The sun indicates temples, institution and produces leadership qualities while Jupiter the divine Teacher and rules Dhi (intelligence). The readers may like to have a copy of Dr. BV Raman’s " Notable Horoscope " in hand for ready reference. The charts used in this article are corrected to Chitrapaksh Ayanamsa. DIVINE INCARNATIONS
Chart 1 is the Dasamsa of Lord Krishna (Sri Vishnu Avatar). Mokshkarak Ketu is in Capricorn with the Sun indicating Adhyatma Yoga of a very high order more so since this receives the aspect of its dispositor Saturn from the fifth bhava (also indicates the building of temples and institutions by the followers). Since this yoga occurs in the seventh bhava, Sri Krishna expounded the philosophy of universal love. This fact is also supported by the placement of the lagnesh (moon) in the 12th bhava (Moksh) with Venus (Karaka of Love) indicating perfect understanding of the subject and its purity as well. Graha Malika Yoga covers the 9 th house (Dharma) to Lagna (Throne) confirming his political ascendancy for the sake of Dharma. Since Mars is the initiator, this political rise to be the ruler of Mathura and later Dwarka would be through battles. Within this MALIKA YOGA, There is DHARMAKARMADIPA PARIVARTAN YOGA between the ninth & tenth lords Mars and Jupiter confirming that the actions of Sri Krishna would be for the establishment of Dharma. Since this Yogakaraka Mars is also the 5 th lord in the 9th house, the most Holy Srimad Bhagavat Gita was expounded at the battlefield of Kurukshetra. Rahu in Lagna gives an astute political mind, but in Cancer, this shall always be used for noble purposes. The tenth house placement of Jupiter both as the 9th Lord (Sri Vishnu) gives Him the spotless reputation of being an incarnation of Sri Vishnu. Rahu causes papargala on the tenth Guru and its placement in Lagna indicates that some persons will either doubt his being an Avatar or even his very existence. The reasons for such doubts can be seen from the houses aspected by Rahu. For example, Rahu aspects the 7th and king Sisupala's doubts / enmity were due to the love marriage of Sri Krishna with Rukmini. This papargala is fully obstructed by the Sun & Ketu indicating that such doubts will be removed by the Tapaobala (spiritual strength) of the lord. Another example is seen in the aspect of Rahu on the 5th house and 5th lord Mars in the 9th house in that the Bhagavat Gita starts with the dejection and delusion of the greatest Archer Arjuna and this is removed by the lord subsequently. RELIGION FOUNDERS
Chart – 2 is the Dasamsa of Jesus Christ the founder of Christianity. Mokshkarak Ketu is in Makar flanked by the luminaries as the dispositor Saturn goes to the 9 th house indicating a high level of Adhyatma yoga. Since Ketu is in the 5th bhava, the philosophy is centered on universal compassion. A GuruMangal Yoga is in the 10th aspected by the compassionate moon from the 4th house. This lunar aspect tends to exalt Jupiter and debilitate Mars indicating his firm faith on Ahimsa (non-violence). The Parivartan yoga (exchange of signs) between 8th lord Mars and 10th lord Mercury indicate the hostile environment in which he preached Ahimsa as well as his crucification and death by a spear (Mars). The subsequent resurrection is also due to the Parivartan yoga involving the lagna lord Mercury. The Sun & Venus in the 6 th bhava fail to determine political career due to the Parivartan yoga of Venus with Saturn which also aspects them in the philosophical Aquarius. Jupiter in the 10th bhava determines karma. This has the papargala of Rahu in the 11 th bhava indicating betrayal by close friends and colleagues. The dispositor of Rahu is the Moon in the 4 th showing his divine compassion even for these evil people. However, the argala of Rahu is fully obstructed by 5th lord (followers) Saturn who did not spare these evil doers.
Chart – 3 is the Dasamsa of Guru Nanak Dev the founder of Sikhism. Ketu the Mokshkarak is in Makar in the arthatrikana with the 10th lord Mercury. Lagnesh Guru is in the 10th aspected by the Sani–Chandra yoga in the fourth house. The aspect of the compassionate Moon from Pisces tends to exalt Jupiter and it was during Guru dasa that he traveled and preached the doctrine of Faith (Pisces) in God. The aspect of Saturn tends to debilitate Jupiter and caused imprisonment by Babar. The Gajakesari yoga prevailed and Guru Nanak was able to convert Babar into a benevolent ruler. Later during Saturn dasa, he settled down with family. It is noteworthy that a single Jupiter in the 10th in dignity can give lasting fame and an excellent reputation. The fifth lord Mars is debilitated in the 8th (inheritance) with Rahu causing papargala on Guru which is partly obstructed by Venus. The fifth is aspected by the ninth lord Sun causing unobstructed argala on Guru as well as Mars. Thus the legacy of becoming the next Guru of the Sikhs was not inherited by his Son (Mars) and instead by his faithful pupil (Sun) SAINTS
Spiritual Pisces rises in the Dasamsa of Sai Baba of Shirdi (Chart – 4) while mokshkarak Ketu is in Makar in the 11th bhava indicating universal Brotherhood to be the main them of his philosophy. A Bhadra Mahapurush yoga of Mercury influences the lagna & 10 th lord Jupiter and during Mercury dasa the Saint had many followers and wide popularity. Saturn in the third and Mars in the 6 th made him extraordinarily brave and it is recorded that he was friendly to a wild tiger that visited him at the village occasionally. However, Saturn dasa would have been very difficult due to its aspect on the 5th and 9th houses thereby depriving recognition of merits (on followers) and great poverty. Rahu in the 5th bhava indicate followers from all faiths.
Spiritual Pisces also rises in the dasamsa of Ramakrishna Paramhamsa (Chart – 5) and Ketu is in the 11th in Makar indicating a philosophy of universal brotherhood. The Adhyatma yoga is very
strong due to the 12th house (Moksh) placement of lagna & 10th lord Jupiter with 12th lord Saturn in philosophical Aquarius. The conjunction of Venus with Ketu indicates patriotism in religion and he played a vital role in the moral awakening of the Indians who found inner strength to fight for freedom. This yoga also made him respect women, in general and he even looked upon his wife as a manifestation of the Divine Mother. The Parivartan yoga between the Mercury and Moon produces a Rajyoga and also Sarswati yoga. This gave a very high level of intelligence as well as very erudite followers (5th Bhava) and a complete understanding of the Vedas leading to Vedanta. Rahu in the 5th shows followers from all faiths. The 5th is also aspected by Yogakaraka Mars from Aries in conjunction with the exalted Sun. this shows the founding of the Ramakrishna Mission by Swami Vivekananda his ardent disciple. PHILOSOPHERS ON RELIGION
Chart–6 is the Dasamsa of Aurobindo Ghose. Mystic Scorpio rises with Parivartan yoga between the Moon & Saturn indicating a philosopher of outstanding genius and since the 9 th bhava is involved, the subject is religion and spiritualism. The exalted Ketu in the second showing spiritualism dominates the arthatrikona. However, Mars in the 6th bhava in trine to the Sun gave a job in the Baroda service initially. The potent Grahamalika yoga covers the Mokshtrikona indicating that the spiritual path shall being under the difficult circumstances of captivity (Rahu in the starting 8th bhava). This was followed by his vision of lord Krishna (Parivartan yoga between Saturn and 9th lord Moon – incidentally, the exalted Moon rises in the lagna of Sri Krishna with Saturn in the 7th bhava.) The Sun in swakshetra in 10th bhava in trine to Ketu shows the founding of Auroville at Pondicherry. During Rahu dasa he produced some of the finest literary gems. Since Rahu is exalted and unaspected, it gives the results of its dispositor Mercury in the 5th house. This gives a natural flair for writing and, deep poetic vein as well as poetic abilities are seen in the aspect of Venus on Mercury in the 5th house. Like Ramakrishna Paramhamsa, he played a vital role in the moral upliftment of Indians. Further, since both Mercury and Venus are debilitated, the writings are melancholic about the state of India (pre – independence) and portray a bright future (post – independence) due to the Neechabhanga of both planets caused by the Gajakesari yogi Jupiter. Beside, Jupiter is in the terminal bhava of the Grahamalika yoga indicating the Goals of the native. Incidentally, his birthday does coincide with that of Indian Independence. Does this ring a bell for
Numerologists? This termination of the yoga in the house of Moksh by Jupiter attempts to explain the ‘ glow ‘ over his body for more than a week after his death, which is otherwise, beyond human comprehension. Some astrologers opine that Grahamalika yoga occurs when all the nine planets are involved. Technically, this is impossible for a Panch / Shast Malika yoga (i.e. covering 5/6 signs in a row) since either Rahu / Ketu would be out of it. The divisional charts where this yoga occurs are the focus of the natives' life. People born with this yoga in the dasamsa have a definite purpose to achieve and this yoga shall predominate over every other combination. For example in the dasamsa of Smt. Indira Gandhi, Shasta Grahamalika yoga occurs from the 8 th bhava (legacy) to the lagna (throne). She was destined to inherit the political legacy of her father and be the longest serving P.M. of India. As enunciated above, the circumstances under which the path shall begin.
The Dasamsa of Jagadguru Adi Sankara (Chart – 7) has Ketu and the Sun in the Arthatrikona indicating religiosity and the founding of institution to propagate his Advaita philosophy. The lagnesh joins Rahu (Rudra) in the 12th while the 10th lord Saturn is also in the Mokshtrikona in the 4th house. Gajakesari yoga dominates the 5th house showing extraordinary I.Q. and brilliant poetic skills. His composition of hymns & slokas are perfect in meter and the sheer volume of his works in a very small lifetime is unparalleled in the world. This yoga also gave loyal disciples (5th house) who, when summoned, with blind faith (Jupiter in Pisces) walked over a river (Moon) as Lotus blossoms (Jupiter) sprang under his feet. The potent Grahamalika yoga covers the Moksh Trikona from the 4th bhava to the 8th bhava. The terminal bhava is Sagittarius (Dharma) with Mercury (writing, speech) as the 5 th lord (knowledge) and the dispositor of the luminaries (enlightenment) in the 8 th house (Mysticism, Spiritualism) and in so many words, attempts to describe his goals. The starting of the Grahamalika yoga is from Saturn (rules Capricorn – Crocodile) in the 4th house (Mother). It is said that Adi Sankara obtained permission from his mother to become a sanyasi when a crocodile was tugging at his legs in the river. Another feature is the Sun in the second bhava Sun aspected by its dispositor Mercury showing extraordinary debating skills and the 5th lordship shows the defeated debaters becoming his followers
SAINTLY BARDS
In the Dasamsa of Sri Tyagaraja (Chart – 8), Ketu flanked by the luminaries dominates the arthtrikona showing that he was a Saint first and that music was his medium of expression. Panch Grahamalika yoga covers the Kamatrikona from the 3 rd house Mercury (Singing) to the 7th bhava. The terminal bhava here is Sagittarius (Dharma) with the Moon (Poetry, Emotions) as the second lord (Voice, Singing) and shows his composition of hymns and devotional songs. The aspect of Venus from lagna on the 7th house Moon is a specific combination for proficiency in poetry, and is also found in the dasamsa of Rabindranath Tagore. HEADS OF RELIGIOUS INSTITUTIONS
Chart 9 & 10 are the Dasamsa's of two Shankaracharya's who have headed the Math‘s (Religious Institutions) founded by Adi Sankara. Both of them have spiritual Pisces rising with Rahu (Rudra) and ascendant & tenth lord Jupiter in the 4th house (a mokshtrikona and a quadrant), involved in the DHARMAKARMADIPA YOGA with 9th lord Mars. Incidentally, in the dasamsa of Adi Sankara, the 5th house is aspected by Jupiter from Pisces showing that the planets influencing the 5 th bhava in the dasamsa of influential leaders will also influence the lagna bhava of followers. In both charts, the Sun (ruling leadership & institutions) has unobstructed argala on Jupiter showing the headship of institutions while the aspect / conjunction of Saturn on the 10 th house and the Sun confirms these to be religious institutions.
However, the difference in the charts shows the way individual karma would manifest. While chart – 9 has Saturn aspecting Ketu indicating focus on individual spiritual development, chart – 10 has Mercury in the 5th bhava as the dispositor Moon is in the 10th bhava indicating focus on literary activities and knowledge. PRIEST
Chart – 11 is the Dasamsa of a temple priest. The arthtrikona has exalted Ketu in the second and Venus in the 6th indicating singing of hymns & slokas as service. The 9 th bhava Moon in Cancer aspected by Jupiter and Saturn indicates the deity (Sri Krishna). Grahamalika yoga covers the Kamatrikona from one Upachaya to another (11th to 3rd) and different kind of Adhyatma yoga results by the Sun (Temple) in the initiating bhava and debilitated Jupiter in Makar in the terminal bhava. To overcome the desire for wealth shall be the greatest challenges for such yoga. SAINTLY ASTROLOGERS
Chart – 12 is the Dasamsa of Dr. BV Raman, the learned editor of A.M. Both Lagna lord Venus and tenth lord Saturn is in mokshtrikona. Grahamalika yoga covers the mokshtrikona from the 4 th bhava to the 8th bhava. The terminal house is Sagittarius (Dharma) with exalted Ketu (Moksh emancipation / undying fame) and Mercury (Writing, Speech, Astrology) as the 5 th lord (Knowledge) in the 8th bhava (Spiritualism, Occult Studies) prophesizes the predestined goal of becoming the most eminent astrologer of modern times. This also indicates inheritance of knowledge from grandfather. The initiator is lagnesh Venus in the 4 th indicating that he belonged to a family of astrologers. The Parivartan yoga of Venus & Sun indicates the Astrological Magazine as an institution to initiate the Grahamalika yoga, and its rise under his able leadership. Jupiter, the significator for intuition, is involved in a powerful Parivartan yoga with Mars, occupies mystic Scorpio, and is a part of the Grahamalika yoga and aspects lagna. During Guru dasa, he achieved worldwide repute due to accurate predictions on the course of the Second World War. The debilitated Sun in the arthtrikona is a powerful Rajyoga, but the aspect of debilitated 10 th lord Saturn converts this to the headship of a quasi – religious institution (The A.M.)
Chart – 13 is the Dasamsa of Sri Ramanuja. Readers may not the similarities with the Rasi & dasamsa of Adi Sankara and that he was a brilliant philosopher who preached Vishist Advaita philosophy. Besides the Sun & Ketu, the Mercury is also in Arthtrikona as Jupiter is in lagna confirming his astrological skills. He is the author of ‘ Bhavartha Ratnakara ‘ an astrological gem that is now available in English from the pen of Dr. B.V.Raman. POLITICS & RELIGION
Chart – 14 is the Dasamsa of Mahatma Gandhi. Mars and Venus in the 6 th house Gemini determined initial profession as a lawyer. However, the debilitated Sun in the 10 th bhava is a sure
shot yoga for politics. He led the struggle for Indian Independence. The mokshkarak Ketu is in Makar with Saturn, Jupiter and Mercury indicating a very high order of Adhyatma yoga. Jupiter indicates intelligence while Mercury shows his writing skills (he edited a newspaper). Since this adhyatma yoga occurs in lagna, he expounded the unique path of SATYAGRAHA as the means to freedom and politics (Lagna is the throne – significator Sun). He dressed like a fakir and even met the Queen of England in that goal a sign of a true saint. Readers may analyze charts in the above lines. In this article, I have attempted to highlight the importance of the dasamsa and the Shodasavarga charts and it is hoped that this will prove to be an important tool for detailed astrological analysis.

SURYA MANTRA (1) The Sun is the Creator, Preserver and destroyer and takes the three forms of "BRAMHA", "VISHNU", and "RUDRA". Hence the Sun symbolizing godhead is said to be Omniscient (all seeing / knowing Brahma), Omnipresent (Present everywhere and preserving Shri Vishnu) and Omnipotent (all-powerful like Lord Shiva). Thus the Sun becomes the "Ayana" (direction) of the Nara (humans) and is called "Narayana" (God). Depending upon the direction of one's chief activity in life, the human beings can be classified as: Brahamans
(Seeking knowledge e.g. Teachers, Priests etc.)
Kshtriyas
(Protecting / Governing e.g. bureaucrats/Police / Army etc.)
Vaishayas
(Preservers e.g. Businessmen, Corporate etc.)
Shudras
(Involved in Labor)
Since the 10th house governs "Karma" the "DasAkshari" (10 lettered) Mantra of the Sun God helps one to achieve success in his career / profession and in one's endeavor. The three mantras for BRAHMINS / KSHTRIYAS / VAISHAYAS are as follows: Brahimans

Mahamrutunjaya Mantra By Sanjay Rath
THE MAHAMANTRA This Mahamrutunjaya mantra is from the Rig-Veda (7th Book or Mandala, 59 Chapter) and needs initiation for attaining Siddhi. Anybody can recite this mantra and attain good health, release from bondage and other problems. This is the greatest panacea for all evils and can be recited at any time like any other Maha-mantra. I will advise its recitation for forty days both in the morning and evening, after lighting a lamp and sitting in any yogic posture (preferably Padmasana which is the picture of Lord Shiva in the picture) while facing east. Recite the Maha-mantra 108 times (one rosary) or its multiples in each sitting. This is the greatest work of Maharishi Vashistha. Before commencing the Mahamrutunjaya mantra recite the following small prayer to the everlasting spirit of the Maharishi for his blessings and guidance.
•
OM SUCHIRMARKAIR BRIHASPATIM ADHVARESHU NAMASYATAH (21 Times) We pray to Brihaspati (the Lord of this Universe and the teacher of this Vedic Knowledge), whose wishes are inviolable, for good thoughts (that will lead to good speech and actions that cannot be violated as it will be the truth).
•
VYAM VASHISHTHAYA NAMAH (21 Times) This is the prayer to Maharishi Vashistha (whose Holy Spirit is Omnipresent).
•
The initiated should practice the Pranayama ten times with the Beejakshara Mantra "OM HOUM JUM SAH". Others can skip this and go to the Mahamantra directly.
•
This is to be followed by the Dhyana Mantra (Meditation) of Sri Tryambakeswara (One of the twelve Jyotirlinga) and then meditate on Sri Tryambakeshwara (Lord Shiva) and Sri Amriteshwari (Gouri or Parvati Shakti) with the relevant beejakshara and Rudra Pooja. Meditate for at least 15 Minutes before starting the Japa (Recitation of Mantra). Those conversant with TM or other forms of meditation can use the following mantra : "OM HOUM JUM SAH"
•
Then repeat the following Mahamrutunjaya mantra 108 times or multiples of this number. The Mahamrutunjaya Mantra reads: OM TRYAMBAKKAM
YAJAMAHE SUGANDHIM PUSTIVARDHANAM URVAROOKAMEVA BANDANAAN MRITYORMOKSHEEYA MAAMRITAAT.
UNDERSTAND THE MAHAMANTRA It is important to understand the meaning of the words as this makes the repetition meaningful and brings forth the results. •
OM is not spelt out in the Rig-Veda, but has to be added to the beginning of all Mantras as given in an earlier Mantra of the Rig-Veda addressed to Ganapati. This Mantra is given in the Prayer page of my Book "Maharishi Jaimini's Upadesa Sutra".
•
TRYAMBAKKAM refers to the Three eyes of Lord Shiva. 'Trya' means 'Three' and 'Ambakam' means eyes. These three eyes or sources of enlightenment are the Trimurti or three primary deities, namely Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva and the three 'AMBA' (also meaning Mother or Shakti' are Saraswati, Lakshmi and Gouri. Thus in this word, we are referring to God as Omniscient (Brahma), Omnipresent (Vishnu) and Omnipotent (Shiva). This is the wisdom of Brihaspati and is referred to as Sri Duttatreya having three heads of Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva.
•
YAJAMAHE means, "We sing Thy praise".
•
SUGANDHIM refers to His fragrance (of knowledge, presence and strength i.e. three aspects) as being the best and always spreading around. Fragrance refers to the joy that we get on knowing, seeing or feeling His virtuous deeds.
•
PUSTIVARDHANAM: Pooshan refers to Him as the sustainer of this world and in this manner, He is the Father (Pater) of all. Pooshan is also the inner impeller of all knowledge and is thus Savitur or the Sun and also symbolizes Brahma the Omniscient Creator. In this manner He is also the Father (Genitor) of all.
•
URVAAROKAMEVA: 'URVA' means "VISHAL" or big and powerful or deadly. 'AAROOKAM' means 'Disease'. Thus URVAROOKA means deadly and overpowering diseases. (The CUCUMBER interpretation given in various places is also correct for the word URVAROOKAM, but not apt for this mantra). The diseases are also of three kinds caused by the influence (in the negative) of the three Guna's and are ignorance (Avidya etc), falsehood (Asat
etc as even though Vishnu is everywhere, we fail to perceive Him and are guided by our sight and other senses) and weaknesses (Shadripu etc. a constraint of this physical body and Shiva is all powerful). •
BANDANAAM means bound down. Thus read with URVAROOKAMEVA, it means 'I am bound down by deadly and overpowering diseases'.
•
MRITYORMOOKSHEYA means to deliver us from death (both premature death in this Physical world and from the neverending cycle of deaths due to rebirth) for the sake of Mokshya (Nirvana or final emancipation from re-birth).
•
MAAMRITAAT means 'please give me some Amritam (life rejuvinating nectar). Read with the previous word, it means that we are praying for some 'Amrit' to get out of the death inflicting diseases as well as the cycle of re-birth.
SOME EXPERIENCES "Gautam Sarkar" wrote: OM GAM Dear Rathbabu, I have personal experience of the effectiveness of this powerful Mantra. In the Ashram of my Guru, a gentleman who was working on the roof touched high-tension cables with his tools. I was sure that he would not survive this ordeal. We recited the Mahamrutunjaya Mantra for him for 4 hours, and he survived, minus some toes. (Of course, he was doing Yoga for a long time and his Guru-kripa was very strong.) A mantra to be effective should be pronounced correctly, and its meaning should be kept in mind, call me if you need any help. (209) 472-1723. Love and Peace, Gautam Sarkar Jai Maharaj, A Vedic Astrologer writes: (E-mail:
[email protected] ) OM Pranaam, Gautam Sarkar and Sanjay Rath ji: I trust this finds both of you in the best of circumstances. In my practice of over four decades, I attest, the Mriyunjaya Mantram has been of
great value not only among my extended family members in U.P., Rajasthan, Dillee and abroad, but also incuring and save the lives of many clients and Jyotish colleagues. Jai Maharaj
A recent case: Dear Maharajji & Gautamji, The Mahamrutunjaya Mantra is also called the Sanjivani Mantra and if used properly can cure the most impossible of diseases. Last year the doctors had given one brother of my Joint Secretary time till December...he has terminal Cancer. The Mrutunjaya has kept him alive till now. I know for sure that this is the best mantra for good health. Hare Krishna, Sanjay Rath If you have any experience related to this mantra do e-mail me a few lines.

Saturday, September 27, 2008 Daily Worship for Jyotishas GURU'S NOTE:
While agreeing to this, we are of the view that each individual member should adhere to these guidelines inside the premises of the Center and should gradually move towards self-purification. The students of Jyotish will be given a specific mantra and can add the Maha mantra to their daily japa. The following are provided for daily practice: -
Wake up and worship your family deity or alternatively, Sri Jagannath with the Dwadasakshari Mantra " OM NAMO BHAGAVATE VASUDEVAYA" as He is the head of Vasudeva Kutumba. This world is one family and should be viewed as such under all circumstances for proper spiritual growth. Take a bath and worship Sri Ganga Mata while bathing chant " HAR HAR GANGE" Perform daily Pooja of the following deities: Sri Ganesha: OM SRI GANESAYA NAMA Sri Guru: VYAM VYASADEVAYA NAMAH Sri Surya: OM GHRINI SURYAADITYA
Sri Vishnu: HARE KRISHNA HARE KRISHNA KRISHNA KRISHNA HARE HARE, HARE RAMA HARE RAMA RAMA RAMA HARE HARE Sri Maha Vishnu OM NAMO NARAYANAYA Sri Lakshmi: OM SHRIM HRIM KLIM MAHALAKSHMAYAI JAGATPRASUTAYAI SWAHA Sri Siva: OM NAMAH SIVAYA NAMO SOMESHWARAYA Sri Mata: OM AIM HRIM KLIM CHAMUNDAYAI VICHCHAI This practice will take about one hour and it is advisable to start this at 6 AM daily. Do not get up immediately after the pooja. Do a Shanti Mantra or a Bhajan of your Ista devata.
The rituals should be kept at a minimum: Panch Upachar of the Ista devata only. Offer water, ghee lamp, incense, and naivedya (food), flower & sandal paste.
Meditate on the ekakshar mantra of Sri Vishnu/ Krishna " SHRIM" for 15 minutes before starting the pooja. A block diagram on the Sankhya Shastra is enclosed for your perusal.
