Ans.  Equipment Shutdown  Isolation (Lock, Tag, Clear & Try)  SINGLE BLOCK VALVE An isolation method for routine maintenance activities and which is least desirable process for use in hydrocarbon service. (e.g. Disconnect belt, and chain drives and mechanical linkages on shaft-driven equipment, securing mechanical moving parts within a confined space with latches, chains, chocks, blocks or other devices. Pin a fly wheel from moving; secure a fan blade from moving).

ELECTRICAL ISOLATION (Qualified Electricians) An isolation method to de-energised or physically turn off and disconnect machinery or equipment from the energy source by a competent and qualified personnel. (e.g. Open breakers, Remove fuses & Disconnect wiring).  LOCKOUT & TAGOUT (LOTO) A method to safe guards the employees from the unexpected energization or startup of machinery and equipment. (e.g. Install approved and identifiable lock and tag by every individual working on the equipment). De-pressurize / De-energize Decontamination  Draining  Flushing  Cleaning  Purging (Water Washing, Steaming, Nitrogen) Ventilation (Ventury, Exhaust Fan, Ventilator / Air Mover) Gas Test Maintenance Activities 
