Blasts In In Ind dia -1 -1

A Barely a period of one year has passed since the terrorists targeted local trains in Mumbai & they chose mainly the first class compartments to target the intelligent & affluent class. For the past decade or so, India, our motherland, has to face a number of such terror attacks at various places & in various cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Gandhidham etc. Strictly speaking, these terror attacks were well planned by mastermind extremists & carried out by their loyal co‐ workers. The question then, arises as to whether astrological analysis of such incidents would provide us any guidance about the planetary positions/yogas or particular signs, constellations, planets being involved in such incidents. Here one thing, we must note that it is not the planets which cause blasts but human beings who are the real culprits. But the time, which provides them the base for carrying out terror attacks, should have some common factors. Not only this but such analysis will give us a guide in predicting future probable dates of attacks.

strology, though may be called a normative science, is strictly based on scientific principles. The division of signs & planets is

mainly based on Five Elements (panchmahabhutas) ‐ namely Space, Air, Fire, Water and Earth ( Aakash, Vayu, Agni, Jala, Prithvi). The bomb‐blasts necessarily involve explosion and so here the fire element becomes more prominent. In Astrology, Moon represents public at large (common man) & the blasts are aimed at terrorising commoners. Many innocent members die in such blasts. As fire/explosion is the cause of death, the eighth house, Mrityusthan, from Ascendant/moon in the chart drawn at the time of blast incident should have some relation to fire element (as it creates fire/blast).

Secondly Secondly chart c hart based on ‘Moon’ is more important, important, because 1. ‘Moon’ represents repre sents the Masses which is mainly invol involved ved in these blasts. 2. Out of the injured injured persons, some die on the spot, some after after passage of time. So, although the exact time of blast is not less important, still study of Rasi Chart based on ‘Moon’ will give a more representative model of time. 3. Yet another factor is that the masterminds, who plan & carry out such terror terror attacks, act ruthlessly. This again points out to another astrological phenomenon – ‘mind’ (Manasa) governed by Moon & ‘the head’ (Buddhi) governed by Mercury. So afflicted Moon &/or Mercury that turns human beings into mindless daredevils must govern the situation, which prompts such ruthless behaviour. So the study of terror strikes should lead us to some conclusions regarding regarding moon, mercury & the fire elements involved. Let us examine some horoscopes of such bomb blast dates vis‐a‐ vis to the parameters propounded above.

From the above 21 blast incidents, we may conclude the yogas responsible for blasts & terror attacks in a nutshell as follows: ‐ 1. Combust and / or Retrograde Mercury Merc ury (in 70% cases) and in 3 cases the pace was around 17’ per day. i.e. very low pace. 2. Relation of fire element with eighth house house from Moon (in 90% cases) 3. Major planets’ disposition in kroor constellations like Jyestha, Krittika, Aslesha, Vishaka, Makha was there in 13 cases accounting for 62% of total Blasts. 4. Saturn – Mars, Jupiter – Mars etc. in mutual kendras was observed obser ved in many cases. 0 5. Lastly, the daily movement of Moon at higher (14 or more) or lower (less than 120 per day) speed was was observed in six cases. So in future during the period of combust / retrograde r etrograde Mercury, the particular day, on which extra caution should be taken, is guided by the daily slow slo wer / faster movement of Moon.

In the light of our concluding observations, horoscope analysis of this blast reveals the following points. 1. Eighth house from the ascendant & from Leo Moon is afflic afflicted ted by fiery Mars. Mars. Jupiter the eighth lord from both ascendant and Moon is in fiery sign Sagittarius. 2. Moon is in conjunction with Mars and Saturn. In addition Mars & Saturn are together (i.e. in mutual Kendra’s also) 3. Regarding Regarding Kroor Nakshtras (Cruel (Cruel Constellations), Ketu Ketu is in Ashlesha, Saturn Saturn & Mars are in Makha and Rahu is in Dhanistha. 4. There was was ‘Vyatipata’ ‘Vya tipata’ yoga on the day. Thus all observations hold good except those relating to Mercury and slow pace of Moon in above incident. In addition, please find below the major blasts during the last 9 months. 1. 11th October 2007‐ 18.05 Ajmer (India) 2. 14th October 2007 – 20.35 Ludhiana (India) 3. 18th /19th October 2007 2007 Midnight Midnight – Karachi (Pakistan) (Pakistan) th 4. 11 December 2007 Algiers 5. 12th /13th December December 2007‐ 1.06 Blast in Dibrugarh Dibrugarh Guwahati Express – Assam (India) th 6. 27 December December 2007 – 18.06 – Karachi (Ex‐PM Mrs. Mrs. Benazir Bhutto died in the blast) blast) th 7. 13 May 2008 – 19.35 Series of 7 blasts in Jaipur (India) 8. 7th July 2008, Kabul (Afghanistan) Analysis of these blasts, with reference to the points mentioned in our observations, shows ‐ 1. Mercury was retrograde retrogr ade at the time of 2 blasts (2,3) and combust combus t in 3 incidents (4,5,6). In the first incident it became retrograde on the next day. Thus in 6 out of 8 incidents our observation holds good. (75%) 2. In most cases eighth house from both Ascendant and/or moon is related to fiery signs  / planets planets – especially especially Mars 3. In all cases major planets were in cruel constellations constellatio ns (Makha / Jyestha / Ashlesha) 4. Jupiter – Mars were were in mutual kendras in 3 cases (4,5,6); Jupiter – Saturn in 3 cases (1,2,3); Mars – Saturn in 1 case (8). So this observation holds good for 7 out of 8 cases. (87.5%) 5. Moon’s slower pace pac e was was observed only in 2 cases. But in some cases tithi was nearer nearer to the new moon day (Amavasya) or moon was in conjunction to Saturn / Mars. 6. On 13th May 08 & 7 th  July 08 Moon was in Leo (Purvafalguni 1 st pada) and on 13th Dec 07, 25th Aug 07 & 11th   July 06 Moon was in Capricorn (Uttarashadha 2nd pada). Surprisingly, both these are vargottama navamsas – one, eighth from Capricorn (the sign of India) and the other in Capricorn (the sign of India). This mainly shows that systematic study of such incidents will give us certain parameters for predicting future probable dates of such incidents. We can alert the people / Police / Government to be extra cautious on these days so that these incidents can be avoided or at least their intensity can be reduced. That is the main purpose of ‘Jyotish’ ‐ HEYAM DUKHAM ANAGATAM – TO REDUCE THE SORROWS OF THE FUTURE.

Certain probable dates indicating high death toll due to such blasts / major rail‐road accidents/ natural calamities are as follows ‐

386

9th /10th August 08 4t to 7th September 08 5th, 6th, 8th, 16th, 17th October 08 13th, 14th, 30th November 08 1st, 12th, 13th December 08 11th, 23rd January 09 19th, 20th March 09 The prediction regarding places of blast is at present out of purview of this study and needs very large data with geographical details. These dates are similar to “Accident‐ Prone Zones” on National Highways. Such zones only indicate indicate the higher probability of accidents taking place in such zones. It does not imply that every vehicle passing through that zone meets with an accident nor does it imply that accidents will occur only in that zone & nowhere else on that road. Similarly above dates are indicative of high probability of blasts on these days. If on any of these days, concerned persons take due care beforehand and avoid the tragedy, purpose of this study will be served. Yet another question, often raised by opponents of astrology is that whether those, who die at a time in a particular blast, belong to same rasi. If not, then how astrology can be called a science. This is a separate subject to be discussed in a separate full article. The article, originally written in September 07, was supplemented in the second week of July 08, with the analysis analysis of 8 blasts b lasts between Sept 07 & July 08. Further on the suggestion of the editorial board of Saptarishis Astrology, some probable dates of future blasts were predicted on the basis of mainly Retrograde and/or Combust Mercury. For predicting exact dates during such period of affected Mercury, the slower/faster pace of Moon along with Mars‐Moon, Mars‐Saturn Mars‐Saturn relations re lations was taken into account. Unfortunately, before the article is published, a number of systematically planned blasts happened on 25th, 26th  July 08. These blasts tally with the hypothesis of our prediction.

_____ Publishers Notes: This article was written over a period of 1 year and the flavor of that is maintained. As per TOI news news report, there were were 3 major major terror attacks ‐ one in Istanbul (17 dead, dead, 150 injured), injured), second th in Baghdad & third in Kirkuk (totally 70 dead, 300 injured) on 28  July 08. Add A dditionally itionally in the probable dates the author has mentioned rail road roa d accidents also as one of the causes with the date of 1 st Aug 2008, you can see that on 1st Aug 2008 around 32 people were killed when flames engulfed five coaches of the Secunderabad‐Kakinada Secunderabad‐Kakinada Gautami Express train at 1.10 a.m. on Friday near Kesamudram railway station, about 70 km from Warangal, India. On 10 th Aug blasts in Bahghad happened as per Mr. Deos prediction, prediction, th on 9 Aug dated outlined by him there was news of 2000 people dead in dispute of Georgia & Russia. ,

387

The first incident of blasts was in Bangalore (12N58, 77E35) on 25 th  July 08 between 1.40 p.m. & 2.15 p.m. The ascendant shifted from Libra 27° to Scorpio 6°. The planetary position was as follows: follows: Sun Cancer 9°, Moon Ashwini Ashwini 1st & 2nd Pada, Mars Leo 20° 20’, Mercury (C) Cancer 4°, Jupiter (R) Sagittarius 21°, Venus Cancer 21°, Rahu Capricorn 25° & Ketu Cancer 25°. The concluding parameters in our article which are applicable to these blasts are: 1. Combust Mercury, 2.Scorpio, the eighth house from Aries Moon, afflicted by fiery Mars, 3.Saturn in Makha, Venus & Ketu in Aslesha, and 4.Saturn‐Mars together in fiery Leo.

The second series of blasts happened in Ahmadabad on the next day‐ 26 th   July 08 between 6.45 p.m. & 9.30 p.m. Here also the ascendant moved from Capricorn 0° to Aquarius 19°. The planetary position was as follows: Sun Cancer 10°, Moon in Bharani 2 nd & 3rd Pada, Mars Leo 21°, Mercury (C) Cancer 6°, Jupiter (R) Sagittarius 21°, Venus Cancer 23°, Saturn Leo 13°, Rahu Capricorn 25°, Ketu Cancer 25°. All the parameters mentioned above are applicable here also. Moon was still in Aries. Yet the additional important factor, which is different in this case, is that Mars, the fiery planet, was situated in the eighth house from the ascendant, Capricorn, and that too in fiery Leo. Further the eighth lord is also the fiery Sun. Even in the case of Aquarius ascendant, the eighth lord, Mercury, is with fiery Sun. Yet another factor is the faster pace of Moon (14° 11’) on 26th as compared to 13° 55’ on 25 th. In Ahmadabad, causalities’ were quite high as compared to those in Bangalore. The difference is fully explained by this last noted

point, proving our parameters of fiery relation with eighth house & pace of moon true. Here we admit the fact that these 2 dates were not predicted by us. Yet, we had mentioned in our prediction the dates 28 th & 29th   July 08. Surprisingly, as per TOI news report, there were 3 major terror attacks ‐ one in Istanbul (17 dead, 150 injured), second in Baghdad & third in Kirkuk (totally 70 dead, 300 injured) on 28th   July 08. Still on 28th & 29th   July, a number of bombs were detected & diffused in Ahmadabad & Surat, major cities in India. Thus, all the conclusions based on systematic astrological analysis proved correct and once again emphatically points out that

Sri C.S.Patel

It is difficult to describe a legend like Mr. Patel. Some called him Chandu Kaka, some called him Chandubhai, some Scholars Astrologer but we all miss him deeply now that he is no more. Though I was the envy e nvy of many publishers that our publishing house could release the books of Mr. Patel and thousands of astrologers have enjoyed his work. But, it is with deep sadness I am remembering him although it is 1 year since his demise. The biggest debt on my heart which would always remain is as to why fate did not allow me one more additional decade with this legend. If our association had started just 10 years earlier, then Sagar Publications would have brought out atleast 10‐20 more books out of this Master who had so much of knowledge that it is unimaginable. He would have reduced the gap between predictions and theories which is what has been my quest via my publications. People accuse me of removing only 5 books out of Patel Saheb but one must understand that Mr. Patel was a very senior astrologer and also very old when my association with him started. A Publisher no doubt has a social responsibility to bring out the best in an author and to coax and guide him but when you have an astrologer as senior as Mr. Patel to deal with; we have to ensure that we do not push him beyond the social constraints that God has given the author. Mr. Patel was not just an inspiration to today’s astrologer & current gurus of astrology but he was also a great inspiration to astrologers of yesteryears. It was often said that one had to read his books thrice to grasp it, I request young students to do this. Often one would find that just one shloka (verse) that he has quoted was a full‐fledged technique in itself & this aspect I request students of astrology to not forget while reading his books. One has to be almost in a meditative state to understand the depth of what he was saying and then test it aggressively for a extensive period without getting deviated by any other method, only then when you get the feeling of ‘Owning’ the technique then the master key of that technique that he has written about will come to you. He was a man who had immense patience and worked very hard on each and every verse, though it would take a long time for him to bring out any book but everyone would be rest assured that when anything comes out of Mr. Patels stable it would be the greatest & also the rarest. He was strict but humble and he had enough humility to admit his mistakes, this is a rare quality in an astrologer that the younger generation should learn from.

In 1990 I was introduced to him and I met him only twice in my life and rest of the period it was via telephone or the good offices of Bhushanji. He was vary of publishers & the publishing industry as he had been duped by friends and other fellow astrologers. This was a sad part as we must not stop genuine astrologers from contributing to the science, but the world is selfish. It almost took him 6 months to agree to write for me & I must admit that it has been an honor and pleasure for me to publish his books. 389

When I met him he assured me 2 things which he was unable to do it for me. First was a horary material (not Prashna Marga), he said this technique was rare & miraculous as compared to the normal system of horary that we follow, but incidentally he never could get down to writing it. The other topic he was to write on was on Chandra Kala Nadi of which he was acknowledged as a master even before I met him. His classes of Chandra Kala Nadi was famous from the 1960s when great masters like even Narendra Desai, Raman Thakkar used to come and learn from him every Sunday, so I expected a lot from him in terms of contribution to understanding this rare text called Deva Kerelam, the greatness of it you can see from my earlier publication on the same. Though I am selfish that knowledge should come out in the open to further this science but at the same time I do remember that he was already in his 80s when I met him and for someone to work so hard till his age of 92 is not known, infact Sagar Publications might be proud to say that he was probably the only Jyotish author in the world who was still writing at the age of 92 inspite of facing so many hardships.

especially comment on his priceless contribution to the field of Ashtakvarga, Navamsa and Nadi Astrology. His ashtakvarga system of using the Ashtakvarga in Navamsa (D9) has been so highly praised to me that Sagar Publications feels very content that we were a vehicle for it. He will be remembered as one of the first astrologers to work on Shastiamsa (D60) & also on Nadiamsas (Late C.G.Rajan also did genuine work on Nadiamsas). He once wrote a single line on the 60th division and this has inspired one of  my authors from U.K to write a book which I would bring out soon. He taught some secrets of Shastiamsas in 1970s to his student the Late Surendra Bhagat who later did further work on Shastiamsas & produced a manuscript. Unfortunately that work is now lost & also Patel Saheb is no more. His contribution will be unmatched forever & We shall be never able to repay this debt.

Speaking of writing, well he was writing the book on Retrogression for us, it is one of the toughest topics in astrology and often called a googly. Normally writers will desist from writing on retrogression. This work remains unfinished and I expect his student who worked on it with him to complete it in whatever form we can cull out to the world. I also expect his students to come out with more books on some of the things they learnt from their Late Master.

I am not competent enough to talk about his greatness but people who have read his books, have come to me over the years and given genuine feedback that if his techniques are applied with honesty and devotion then they are absolutely matchless. People 390

he Zoroastrians were not only sun worshippers, probably a description given due to their following a solar calendar, but were also firm lovers of dogs and even wrote whole treatises on how to look after them in the Zend Avestha. It isn't clear whether these ancient peoples devoted their lives to the care and good treatment of canines to the extent of setting up astrological charts for them, but I'm sure some Zoroastrian astrologer must have been tempted to do so even in those early days.

ricia has been studying astrology for  T

Astrology can be used to chart the life of  any living thing on this planet, so why not use it to chart the progress of animals, our pet dogs especially. Currently many new websites offering pet horoscopes are spreading across the net, some exhibiting with the same reverential treatment the Zoroastrians displayed in their detailed observance of how it's best to always give the last morsel on your plate to your dog, and what is the best method of dealing with a pregnant female delivering her breed. Few astrologers give a detailed analysis of a dog's chart, so it seems now is the right time to see if astrology can be meaningful in helping us understand our best friend better with the aid of astrology.

Tsange was born 22 June 2000 17:15 BST Long 01W37 Lat 53 N 42 TZ 0 DST D ST 1

Tsange has Libra ascendant (19 15 21 PL 7) Swati nakshatra and Moon in Sathabhisha and here is the navamsa with Mercury ruler of seventh navamsa in third navamsa indicating no marriage, which so far is true..............and he is still a celibate little dog....................

Once I had set up his chart I gasped to see so many planets in ninth house, certainly ninth speaks of an area his breed is strongly connected to‐the temple. Tibetan Terriers are know to have been especially bred by Tibetan monks to guard their temples, and certainly for my little terrier his home is his temple which he guards every minute of the day, watching 392

passers by, and barking whenever they do. The Tibetan Terrier is a member of the Lhasa Apso family which apparently is a name that means 'bark sentinel’. Legend has it that these creatures were selected by monks due to their extra fine hearing which means they can detect an intruder from miles away and I’ll write more of this ability later. See L2, the house of childhood family, Mars is in ninth, also showing the connection of his genetic family with the temple.

T

sange was born under which shows he will be loved by all and be attracted to women. It also shows a mischievous nature. Certainly from a young age we would go for walks and have to stop as each passer by bent down to stroke him. Not only this, people going past in cars would wind down windows and shout, 'nice dog' or ‘love your dog' even at busy times of the day. But most amazingly would be outings to the country or seaside where, if he had run off  and was out of sight, I only had to listen for cooing women and see them looking down admiringly to know that yet again the little rogue was seducing females with his gorgeous round big black eyes, and I would find him wrapping his body around their legs in mutual admiration. He is certainly mischievous. When walking he will often stay behind me on his lead then take a running jump at the back of my legs as if trying to trip me over. One look down at his big toothy grin always makes me laugh. Often he will approach passers by to nudge them gently with his nose, and I have to take care not to smile at the genuinely frightened ones as they jump out of his way. Most who know him now, know he merely wants to play ‘’tiggy’ where he nudges you, you chase him and play catch before starting all over again. Another of his favourite tricks is to round people up as though he were a sheepdog. Many visitors arrive only to try leaving with Tsange wrapping himself around their legs, as if rounding them up like sheep, so they can’t walk any further. He’s ultimately saying that they are now in his pack and have to stay with him in his den. The Mars/Venus yoga apparently makes him a shepherd and a wrestler, a talent he exploits at all times when in mischievous mode. From the first few weeks of bringing him home his personality and character impressed all in the neighbourhood. His lagnesh in ninth shows a well behaved creature, and many comment upon how well behaved he is, though clearly they don't live with his mischievousness.................. He loves having lots of people around him, which can be forecast from his lagnesh in Mithuna, an extrovert sign, sign, combined with Mercury, Mithuna ruler, and and L7 Mars which all conspire to make him a truly friendly, sociable and well mannered being. The fact that the Sun joins this combination emphasises a nature which is outgoing, sociable and of course Venus gives a truly charming and affectionate streak which endears him to all he comes into contact with. I often wonder if he was brought into the wrong household and might have been better in one where many children were around to keep him entertained. The Mithuna influence on lagnesh and Sun makes him very active and combined with Mars he has an abundance of energy which he often comically displays when bored, as he ends up 393

chasing his tail around or suddenly pouncing on toys littering the floor and tossing them in the air. There is nothing he likes better than a good long run across a field, the smile on his face as he feels the breeze blow through his high held nostrils is a joy to behold. On days when I'm not too energetic he strains and tugs at his leash as if to tug me along to go at his pace, and I often think if I could harness him to a sledge in winter he I smile every time he eats his meals, for lagnesh in would gladly pull me along the ninth gives good manners and believe it or not, pathway at speed and with gusto. each time he goes to his dish to eat he gently takes

out two or three morsels and puts them on one side. I'm convinced he is saying these are for you, to acknowledge appreciation that I always give him the last morsel on my plate. Not only that, after he has eaten he always come up to me to nudge my leg  as if to say thank you for that nice meal.

With the strong Venusians rays in his chart, he is truly an affectionate and tactile dog who loves to nudge my knee on an evening for a signal to get up beside me and snuggle up for cuddles. If I have to leave him with neighbours or kennels he hates to see me go, but shows his delight at my return by jumping into my arms, licking every millimetre of my face and neck with squeals and howls of delight and vibrant squirms and wriggles of his body, with tail wagging till it looks likely to drop off.

I

smile every time he eats his meals, for lagnesh in ninth gives good manners and believe it or not, each time he goes to his dish to eat he gently takes out two or three morsels and puts them on one side. I'm convinced he is saying these are for you, to acknowledge appreciation that I always give him the last morsel on my plate. Not only that, after he has eaten he always come up to me to nudge my leg as if to say thank you for that nice meal. Who says dogs can't talk! The ninth house is always where we see moral sensibility and Tsange taught me that dogs also have a conscience. When he was quite young and we were play fighting, his teeth caught my arm accidentally and I cried out ''ouch!'' in agony. Instead of continuing the fight, which I expected him to do, he stopped in his tracks, nudged me and then lowered his head and covered his eyes with his paws as though he couldn't bear to see me writhing in pain and also felt guilty about being the cause of it. He has done this on several occasions since when I’ve got accidentally hurt in our play fights and wrestling (Mars conjunct Mercury yoga gives a fondness for wrestling), when he will also come up gently as though to see if there is anything he can do to make things better. Given that so far the analysis of his first house yields accurate descriptions of this little terrier, is it possible that the Parasara yogas also will apply? Quick tours of some of the yogas in the chart reveal some interesting correlations. Many Raj yogas exist elevating his status in terms of success and recognition and status.

A mutual relationship exists between the lord of the 7th house Mars and 9th Mercury due to them being conjoined. He also has L9 in ninth in its own sign which is a pow po werful erfu l yoga of  the first order, as is lord of Kendra Moon in fifth trikona. 394

I have already described how popular he is in the neighbourhood and well known, but the fact he is featured in this online magazine also confirms that he has the ability to rise above the run of the mill dog on every street corner. Also, he is featured on my own website where he takes pride of place and is seen by all who visit the site. He also has Phala Deepika’s Maha‐ Bhagya Yoga which elevates his status and renown (M B Y‐‐Daytime birth, Lagna, Moon and Sun in odd signs Phala Deepika 6/14). The person is handsome, liberal, widely renowned, of blameless character, lord of lands, a king or equivalent to king. Many significations in his chart show that he has kingly status, and it does seem rather ironic that even before I got his chart set up I had already named him after a regal Chinese Emperor Tsiange. Everyone always asks where he got his name from and I explain that not only is he named after an emperor but he behaves like one as well. He has the little quirk of  being able to raise his nose in the air and look down it at anyone as though asserting the fact, in spite of his small size, that he is superior and deserves to be acknowledged as the 'ruler.' In addition addition he is lord of lands due to his residence residence having having quite a generously large (enormous (enormous really) garden which is often frequented by foxes, squirrels, hedgehogs, dormice and cats, most of which he quickly chases off with gusto. Though I have to confess the vixen often gets a whimsical look from him, but then he does appeal to females, and she too stops in her tracks if she can see he is locked behind the fence, and she sits on the middle of the huge lawns, gazing at him. I rather believe she is not only admiring his illustrious, handsome appearance, but is also recognising that he is quite attracted to her. He tends to give only a half hearted growl at her, and reserves his ferocious bark for her mate.

T

he Gaja‐Kesari Yoga given by Jupiter in a Kendra from Moon emphasises his illustriousness but also makes him 'overpowering, virtuous, wealthy, , of royal bearing and enjoys lasting fame.' The ability to learn and excel is truly revealed in the fact that at only eight weeks old this dog knew the meanings of and could respond to no less than eighteen words of the English language. Not even a human baby has been known to be so adept at early language acquisition. Even I was stunned that he exhibited such fast capability to respond to my commands.   Jupiter in Kendra to the Moon , especially especiall y inhibited by Saturn L4, gives comforts but also distress to his biological mother who must have felt so sad at having her baby taken away at only a few weeks old. Saturn L4 of mother is in eight house, prophesying this would happen as eighth house is separation. Though perhaps Jupiter L6 (house of stepmother) 395

conjoined to L4, shows me, his stepmother, as hopefully a beneficial one, though of course I can never truly take the place of his real mum. The Voshi Yoga manifest in full capacity. This yoga occurs when any any planet, except Moon, is in twelfth from the sun. Both Jupiter and Saturn occupy this position, and aspect second house of speech. The yoga bestows many qualities but the one which is most exhibited by Tsange, due to second house aspect of Jupiter and Saturn is the ability to ‘exercise no restraint of speech.' This dog can talk for the universe, notwithstanding the fact already mentioned that he can learn words very quickly, he can also learn nuances, intonation and emotional expression very eloquently. One day whilst in the garden he participated in an hour long exchange to my ongoing comments with his grunts, groans, moans, whines, yeeeowls, barks and grumpy noises. This rather strange ‘conversation’ amused my newly arrived neighbour who laughed at the end and said ‘’does he always talk as much as that?'' I explained that he was rather like my daughter who would always argue back, talked till the 'cows came home' and would always insist on having the last word. Tsange is just the same. It must be the way I bring them up, or else before incarnation they find out about me and realise I’m an excellent tool for assisting their vocals and speech in this lifetime. Of course he can also give some short sharp barks due to Mars being conjoined L2 of voice, and his most amazing ability of all is his howl whenever the phone rings. He sits next to it, raises his mouth in the air, forms an ‘O’ shape with his lips and lets rip with a beautiful long howling noise of melodic and soulful (L2 conjunct Sun for soul) quality obviously enhanced by his Venus/Mercury connection in ninth. The Voshi Yoga also gives a sharp memory which he exhibits in his capacity to remember what time of day his walk should take place, and how many walks he is entitled to of course. He can count to two, and knows when he either hasn't had the second walk or has missed out on the first. He knows jolly well that first walk is around eight am and the second should be at around 4pm but if he can train you to deliver one hour earlier, then he will rest chin on paws, with belly stretched out flat on the floor, and back paws extended behind him, like some long doorstop. He has full intention of letting you know that his mind is on you getting around to taking him out, and you can easily trip over him in this position, usually across the doorway to whichever room you are in, just in case you try anything else other than taking him out. Another interesting yoga is his Vipareet Harsha Raja Yoga: The 6th lord is in the 6th, 8th or 12th house (Phala Deepika) or in Tsange’s case Jupiter L6 is in eighth house which confers ‘Happiness, health and fame.’ The person will conquer his/her enemies and will hesitate in indulging in sinful deeds. Friends will be illustrious and with class. ‘‘Many of his doggy 1

friends are pedigree dogs. There's Molly the collie, Penny the sheepdog who always teases him, and Charlie also a TT, who snapped at him and bit him the first time she saw him, and he now has to spend his time in the corner whenever she visits my neighbours at the same time as we do.

T

he fact that he can conquer his enemies is revealed when he meets up with Weimeraner Max who lives at the other end of the street. We call him Big Max. Max.

Big Max is a beautiful chocolate colour with gorgeous blue eyes, and the softest nature you could ever imagine. The thing is everyone falls in love with Big Max, which of course arouses the jealousy of Mars conjunct Sun and L1 in Tsange’s chart, as well as the potential of the Voshi Yoga. To ensure that 'the enemy' gets nowhere near me to usurp him in my affections, Tsange has a strategic game plan which so far is working out to his advantage. First of all he KNOWS almost telepathically what time ‘Big Max’ sets off on his walk from the other end of the street every evening. At this stage because I don't know, due to only being human, he manages to get me to let him out in the back garden, where he can prowl to his hearts content. Within minutes of being allowed out late in the evening, Tsange will start going berserk and barking in a frenzy, and I realise that once again I have allowed this little terror to tyrannise Big Max, yet again. Poor Max is now exhibiting signs of clear distress and hesitates before walking past our property, so afraid is he of Tsange. This little terrierist can easily indulge in the 'conquering of foes' as he demonstrated one day whilst I was out gardening, and Tsange was having a sun bathe and Big Max was walking past. Tsange woke up with a startle and racing out of the garden in a frenzy he attacked Big Max, (who is four times his size I might add) who responded with a soft wuff, retaliated and ended up gouging a blood vessel in Tsange’s left eye. Not to be beaten, Tsange carried on barking but realised he was injured so responded to my calls to stop and return home with me, giving Big Max a warning growl and woof before doing so of course. Ever since then, poor Max, in spite of injuring Tsange more than Tsange hurt him, is now terrified of being attacked again, so walks past meekly hoping to never encounter the little 'terrierist' again.

397

ou can see in the chart for the event that Mars aspects twelfth house of left eye, warning of dangers to this part of the body. Transit Jupiter L6 of injuries is also in twelfth house. Malefic transit of Venus L8 of accidents is conjunct Sun karaka for eye. Another conquest arrived some weeks later when we were calmly strolling across the golf  course one day. On this occasion it was was more the Krurahatya Krurahaty a Yoga Yoga (Sambu Hora Prakasha) Prak asha) which came into force than the Voshi Yoga. The Krurahatya Yoga obtains when Mars and Moon join in one and the same Navamsa (check his Navamsa), and gives the possibility 'the person might commit a cruel murder.' Tsange enjoys chasing rabbits but hasn't yet got the knack of understanding that they cleverly do a swift right or left ninety degree turn off the path he is racing along, so that once he has run hundreds of yards beyond their clever turn, he is left bewildered and very puzzled as to how he could possibly not have caught up with them. On this occasion something unusual happened which neither he nor I was quite prepared for. During our stroll he spotted a young brown rabbit which was innocently hopping around and immediately gave chase, except on this occasion there were no bushes for the rabbit to turn into, so it ended up in Tsange's mouth. Would this terrierist commit murder and give the final bite? All this happened in a flash but accompanied by my screams to 'Stop! No! Stop ! Sit!' ..... He always obeys obeys the sit command. Thank goodness! 398

I arrived breathless at the scene of the crime wondering whether the poor tiny furry lump was alive or indeed murdered. Happily I saw a movement as it trembled with fear, about to meet its doom, but I bent down to gently stroke it and saw only a few clumps of fur had been lost, and no blood anywhere. I dragged Tsange away to watch the poor tiny creature regain its breath and composure and run away as fast as it could, safely, towards the distant hedgerow from which it had emerged emerged in the first place. place. Thankfully this yoga only gives the possibility of committing the murder, and I had managed to step in to prevent him getting a blemished and less illustrious character.Amusingly I read (unknown source) the Trilochana Yoga obtained when Sun, Moon, Mars are in trines from each other gives: ‘’Great wealth and high intelligence is bestowed upon the person, along with long life and terror to his enemies.’’ The fact that this description uses the word ‘’terror,’’ and the yoga obtains in the chart of a terrier, makes me wonder if the person who established this yoga didn’t also have a Tibetan Terrier to observe it’s application and manifestation. The Vipareet Harsha Yoga (L6 in 8) also gives him the ability to defeat his enemies making him a fierce little creature indeed when the need arises. He will often protect me when out on a walk. If anyone comes within my ‘space’ he will give a warning warning grow gro wl if he doesn’t know them or feels they might threaten me in some way. It’s often amusing to see how muscle bound men will soon get off the path to make way for us, when Tsange gives his warning that he is on guard.

R

ahu and Venus features strongly where dogs are concerned and one girl I know who looks after dogs has Rahu in seventh house Taurus, with Venus aspecting from first house. Her business caring for dogs is thriving, and her Ketu dasa is well underway since her teenage years, when she started it. Rahu is in tenth house of occupation in Tsanges’ chart, and L1 Venus is in ninth of reputation so we can say that he has a reputation as being a dog for his career and main form of activity/karma! L10 is in fifth so perhaps we can surmise he was also a dog in a previous life, due to fifth being house of former incarnation. I always find it amusing that Rahu is in tenth house of Prince Charles’s chart, and he shares his name with the gorgeous little King Charles Spaniel, so the connection between Rahu and dogs is well evidenced. Winston Churchill, the British PM during the last world war was also known as the ‘bulldog’ due to his fierce nature in war, and he has L10 Mercury in full aspect with Rahu. Mercury is parivartana (mutual exchange) Venus (and Mars) also, reinforcing the Venus Rahu connection for dogs. Rahu ruling the house of career also gives a warning due to Rahu being significator for thieves, which reminds me of the time when I put down a lovely evening TV meal on a small table, when the phone rang in the other room....................................................needless to say I didn’t have a meal to return to after the phone call........................... I’m not sure which planets rule telepathy, mind to mind control and mind’s control over matter, but this dog can lie silently on the floor behind me, as I cook a meal, and using highly honed doggy powers, he can ‘will’ a tasty morsel off the chopping board and onto the floor, knowing I’ll never pick it up and use it for human consumption. He usually ends up 399

with many a mouthful of food never intended for him through using this technique of mind over matter.

I

do wonder if Tsange will be a dog in a future life due to Saturn, L5th and in eighth of  past present and future, showing that he will continue his doggy status past, present and in a future incarnation. He nearly lost his life recently due to some very impulsive behaviour. I had left him with a neighbour for a few days, and whilst crossing the road Tsange decided my neighbour was going too slowly so he slipped the lead he was on and ran over a busy road to meet his girlfriend Sophie, a beautiful little Yorkshire Terrier. Of course he didn’t look to see if cars were around, but no sooner had he crossed he turn back onto the road and was hit by a passing vehicle. The vehicle hit his face, ran over his right paws front and back and bruised his rib area. Data 18 July 2008 17:15

4th May 18:20 2005 See transit Mercury is L12 in same critical degree as Lagna, Lagna, and is conjunct Lagna lord Venus with which it is conjunct natally and at the time of the accident. L12 is house of loss and death and I think that he was very lucky not to have been killed at this accident. Jupiter rules sixth, Pisces, and so it his feet which give him much trouble in life, especially due to natal Jupiter being in eighth house of distress. At the time of the accident transit Jupiter is in third house of walking and roads, so he is destined to have an accident whilst walking across the road. Transit Jupiter is opposite natal lagnesh Venus, bringing harm to the body, and see that Sun, also representing body is with Venus natally, and at the time of the accident transit Venus and Sun are in tenth house, conjunct natal Rahu, which also rules roads, but also dogs, and Tsange is chasing after a lady dog at the time of his accident. Venus rules eighth of accidents also, but also rules love and sex, so we can only add up the meanings to tell what was on his mind at this event, when he nearly lost his life for the sake of love! 400

Transit Moon aspects transit Venus‐‐love and Rahu‐‐ dog, so we have his mind on the doggy love of his life ‐‐Sophie. The fact that transit nodes are in opposite places to natal position is also indicative of something major upsetting his life. Fortunately he has survived this accident, but he does seem a little subdued and due to transit Mars aspecting second house of mouth, he sustained a cut and bruised lip. He still bears the scar on his lower lip but his other injuries are happily healing, and he seems to have got off very lightly with no broken bone; thank goodness. Notice also that Jupiter is in third of neighbours, and Tsange was walking with his neighbour at the time.   Jupiter in transit is retrograde so harms the houses it owns. owns. Retro  Jupiter is harmful to sixth house of health, ruled by Pisces‐feet, and also rules and occupies house of neighbours, third, and yes, this neighbour wasn’t particularly happy with him after his naughty behaviour, so the neighbour was harmed very much at the time of the incident. Sun rules eleventh natally, and at the time of the accident is in tenth from lagna. Eleventh is eighth from fourth of cars, and so due to Sun L8 from fourth aspecting fourth as well as lagnesh transit Venus, the emphasis on road accidents due to vehicle is heightened. Transit Saturn in eighth from fourth also shows a sad event and harm to feet, due to aspect on natal  Jupiter with natal Saturn in house of distress from lagna.

There are many other charts for incidents in his life which can be read in the same way we read a human chart and I leave you with some of them at the end of this article to enjoy analysing for yourself. These charts are sure to be of use to many astrologers who also own dogs, or who are given the charts of other animals to read.

A) 1 March 2004 approx 12.00 mid day Tsange is always scavenging and always picks up debris thrown down by children, especially chocolate and sweets. Sadly I can’t always stop him picking these up, and my neighbours feed him chocolate biscuits, which are very harmful for dogs. His teeth got so bad he needed one out, and the dentist took our three front lower teeth for reasons I shall never understand. Both Tsange and I were in mourning, all week after the extractions, and I often feel he had his lovely smile surgically removed. 401

See transit Mars aspecting second house of mouth and teeth, while transit Saturn is conjoined natal Mars L2

______  ______ B) 1 July 2004 (no real time available for a specific start time, this was the day he was taken to vets) I love taking Tsange on holiday, though he hates travel due to L4 in eighth house. He got an ear infection one year and had to be left in kennels instead of coming to the seaside. L 6 (ill health) transit Jupiter is in eleventh of ears, with malefic transit Saturn aspecting eleventh, and conjunct transit and natal Sun L11.

 ______

C) When two big thorns got stuck in his paw I couldn’t get them out and knew they had to be surgically surgically removed by the vet, so Tsange had to be anaesthetised for this minor operation. See transit Mars in eighth aspecting transit Jupiter, also see transit Moon in twelfth, aspecting Pisces, showing his mind is very much on the paw itself and the injury to it.

402

D) 18 Sept 2003 mid‐day (actual time not know, but sometime around mid day.)Many dogs get lumps, and while Tsange suffered with toothache and a bad tooth he developed a cyst, the residue of toxins from the bad tooth before extraction. I asked the vet to remove the cyst as it was causing him problems all the time, especially when out walking. See L1 Venus transitting house 12 of confinement, while transit mars aspects it from fifth house. Notice 12 house is Virgo ruling hips, and the cyst was on the hip area of his body.

E) 25 Jan 11 am 2008: On this occasion Tsange ended up with one of the nails in his paw being accidentally pulled off. It was very painful for him of course, but soon healed and grew again. I’m not sure which sign or house to look at for all paws, but in the transits we can see 403

that transit Mars aspects Jupiter, ruler of Pisces, sign of paws, but oddly it is the right paw which would seem to be the worse?

F) 18 Feb 14 45 2008 This chart of the time when he ended up with a sw s wollen back paw pa w shows transit Mars still aspecting transit   Jupiter, ruler of Pisces on sixth of ill health. The fact that natal Jupiter is in eighth from lagna and conjoins malefic natal Saturn gives a warning that he will always suffer with paws.

making for better bonding and relating to the dog and a happier relationship. Hopefully more astrologers will now set up charts for animals and help owners understand that these creatures also have a destiny written in star language which can help us humans respect and know them better in future.

Of course Tsange is destined to be renowned due to so many yogas in his chart, which is why you have encountered him in this international magazine for astrologers! It is important to understand your pet, you see once I had read his chart then I felt happy with Tsange. He kept showing me his teeth and I didn't understand why he was always angry with me, though I hadn't had a ‘Tibetan Terrier’ before. It was only when I did his chart I learned about his nature, and subsequently a neighbour said did you know this is the only dog with a smile, and so I began to understand him. This reading of the chart helps the dog owner understand the nature of the dog and the breed much better so

I would welcome any feedback at [email protected] on this article from those astrologers who also have used this science to uncover the life and trials of  creatures they know.

 Naisrgika Bala or  Natural strength

S

Shri V P Jain was born in Rewari on 31st   Aug 1931. He obtained Masters degree in   Mathematicswith Astronomy as one of its papers. He retired as Audit Officer from the office of the Director General of Audit Central Revenues and has thereby written several books in astrology titled 'Elements of Astronomy & Astrological Calculations', Text Book for Shadbala & Bhavabala'   which received enormous praise from readers & 'Astronomy relevant to   Astrology'. Many of his research papers have been published in various astrological publications.

405

hadbala (six fold strength) is a method in Indian Astrology to find the strength of planets. Natural strength of planets is one of the strengths in shadbala. This strength is fixed and holds well in all nativities. The strength of  planets in birth chart always leaves impact on the personality of the native. Thus the question arises, when it is constant for all the horoscopes, why it should be included in the shadbala? The predictive results have also been given in the classical books:‐ Dr. B. V. Raman in his book ‘Graha and Bhava Balas states ‘that the value assigned to each planet depends upon its luminosity’. It is a well known fact that the planets have no light of their own but reflect the light received from the Sun. Now we shall discuss the luminosity (The light received on the earth) of the planets as per modern astronomical facts. Before proceeding to it, let us see how the luminosity varies from time to time depending upon their distance from the earth.

Phases of inner inner planets (Mercury and Venus) are are like moon. Refer to figure given given below:‐ below:‐ Figure:‐ Sun is at the center of the orbits of  the inner planet and the earth. Inner planet appears full when it is at and circular disc is visible but it is at the maximum distance from the earth. It appears more than half  at and , as more than half the bright disc is towards us. At and only half the lighted disc is visible at the Earth. At & less than half the illuminated position is facing us, so it appears less than half. At its dark side is seen by us, so it is not visible at all, though it is nearest to us.

The superior planets must always appear either full or gibbous; for its orbit is outside orbit of the earth. It appears full at conjunction or opposition. Its illuminated disc is always more than half towards the earth. The smallest portion of the planet will be seen when the sun and the planets subtend a right angle at earth.

The amount of reflected light received from a planet at the earth is the brightness of the Planet / Star. This reflected light is based on based on two things:‐‐ (A) If the distance of a planet plane t from fro m the earth is more, light received recei ved from it will will be less and the planet becomes brighter as it reaches near the earth. Brightness of light is inversely proportional proport ional to the square of its distance from the earth. If a source of light goes three times away than its earlier distance, the magnitude of light will be one‐ninth of the original one.

406

(B) It depends also on the portion of the illuminate illuminated d disc of the planet towards the earth. If more illuminated portion of the disc is towards earth, more light will be received on the earth.

We consider the case of Venus. When it is at superior conjunction, it is at maximum distance from the earth and at inferior conjunction it is at the least distance. Diameter of its disc is 11" at superior conjunction and 66" at inferior conjunction or 6 times more than superior conjunction. At the time of inferior conjunction, a very small part of its illuminated disc is towards the earth or visible to the observer, while at superior conjunction the whole disc is normally visible. When elongation angle of Venus (the angle subtended by the sun and the Venus at the earth) is 40°, the brightness is at maximum.

An outer planet at the time of opposition appears like a full moon. The whole disc is is visible and it is nearest to the earth. While at conjunction, though the whole disc is normally visible but it is at the maximum distance from the earth, its disc appears smaller also. In between these two positions, at quadrature (the angle subtended by the planet and the sun at the earth is 90) it appears most gibbous. Maximum Magnitudes Of Planets are as under:‐ Sun Moon Mars Mercury   Jupiter Venus Saturn

Dazzling (‐) 12.7 (‐) 2.8 (‐) 1.9 (‐) 2.6 (‐) 4.4 (‐) 0.3

The greater greate r is the magnitude, lesser is the brightness. Planets with minus magnitude are more bright than the positive ones. In case we take Saturn as 1, Moon 42.3, Mars 9.3, Mercury 6.3, Jupiter 8.7 and Venus 14.7 times brighter than Saturn. But this brightness varies as per their distance from the earth. 407

Take the case of Mars which looks like a star at the time it is farthest from earth. Similarly, is the case with Jupiter and Saturn. Regarding inner planets Mercury and Venus it has been discussed earlier.

mUlaxare l  axare hga[> Syat! ipt&icNta i cNta rivStwa Svaixóane tu haeraSyaNmat& raSyaNmat&icNta i cNta twarazI mi[pUre nva Aa}aya< ]eÇmu ÇmuiÎò< i Îò< jayaicNta istStwa ÖadzaNte znEíarI íarI nazicNta c kIitR ta ta tÇSwEStdaxIzEí blablvRzatU z   atU )lm!.

It is concluded that their luminosity varies. Hence the natural strength needs to be removed from the Shadbala of Grahas or another formula depending on their angle of elongation and distance may be found out. There are many things in Astrology that was taught earlier which requires modification according to the modern knowledge of Astronomy for which a team of Science and Mathematics experts is required who are also well versed in astrology.

Bismillah Bismillah Hi Rehmanuraheem There were some excellent books on astrology which were written in Urdu in the 19th and at at the start of the 20th century like Kashfu‐Najoom in 1880, Al‐Najoom in 1907, Aftab‐Un‐Najoom in 1908. These were written combining Persian & Urdu Language, they contained some of the finest secrets of astrology that were known to Muslim astrologers of their times. These lines are taken from an old book written in 1907 in Urdu language by the name of  Al that means ‘The astrology’ astrology’ 1907.

If one observes the point 24Leo is nothing but the degree of the Sun, so why do the exercise in the first place, this is not clear enough and more probing is required. How do we use this formula when the degrees of Sun is less than the degrees of Moon, e.g say Sun is 20Ar and Moon is 10Leo. The answer is by adding 360 degrees to the degree of the Sun

When the Jupiter passes through the seventh house of Navamsha in that year the marriage will be performed. 410

A native native was born on 27th Aug 1979, 17.20 Hyderabad, Hyderabad, Pakistan with with Cp rising.

His marriage was done on 1st Dec 2006, when he was passing through Jup Maha Ketu antar, Ven paryantra mars sookshma. Jupiter was transiting his 7th house of Navamsa that is Scorpio. A person born on 4 December December 1962 at 11.50am in Abbottabad Pakistan.

Throughout astro classics we find many rules for marriage governing transits, the ardent reader sometimes takes it as a dictum and finds that one rule does not work always whereas we forget that a whole host of factors create an event and nothing in solitude. If 1000 transits are given in classics we need to digest and experiment with them to find which set of  412

MahaPurusha Yoga Bhanga An Attempt “Every astrologer I meet says that I have got Malavya yoga in my chart. I have read about the great effects of exalted Venus in a Kendra Kendra from Ascendant. Is this the Malavya yoga? But, sorry man, it didn’t work in my chart.” The above statement was by the native of Chart 1, put to the scribe. The native is an official working in the Department of Revenue, GOI. Out of curiosity, the birth details were asked and promptly noted do wn. The birth details of the

Pancha Maha Purusha Yogas are the combinations that produce 5 kinds of great people. They are namely, Hamsa, Ruchaka, Bhadra, Malavya and Sasa. The classical definition of  Malavya yoga, one of the Pancha Mahapurusha yogas is “placement of Venus in own or exalted house identical to a Kendra from Lagna or Moon”. Accordingly, Hamsa, Ruchaka, Bhadra and Sasa yogas are formed by such placement of Jupiter, Mars, Mercury and Saturn respectively. 1

The verses from some classics classics defining Maha Purusha yoga yoga are as under:‐ Manasagari:

Something important must first be mentioned, in younger years of our astrological journey, most of us ascribe great success to a native to MPY present in the chart but actually that success might be happening due to some other yoga present in the chart. Also, it is not rare to have these yogas in one chart. This point must be kept in mind before we venture into testing this proposed theory of MPY cancellation presented in this paper. The classical definition of Malavya yoga is satisfied in Chart 1 by the placement of Venus in Lagna as Lagna Lord. Venus dasa is running presently (at the time of writing) from 1988  January  January to 2008 January: Maha Dasas: Merc: 1964‐01‐24 ‐ 1981‐01‐23/Ket: 1981‐01‐23/Ket: 1981‐01‐23 ‐ 1988‐01‐24 Ven: According to native, the Venus dasa is going normal, nothing extraordinary. Usually, the yoga giving planets give the results in their Mahadashas and Antardashas. Why Venus, in own house, didn’t didn’t give any results? Aspected Aspected by Jupiter, bitter bitter enemy of Venus? Though there was no prediction given to the native, the question of how the Malavya yoga became defunct was remained unanswered till a verse came across during the cursory reading of Chandrakalanadi or Devakeralam. The verse referred, in ChandrakalaNadi Devakeralam (Vo. II, Part I, Page 5 and verse 26) describing Malavya yoga and its results. The next verse i.e., 27 reads as under:‐

“If Jupiter is conjoined with or aspected by Saturn, Malavya yoga, mahapurusha yoga generated by Venus is cancelled. The good results of exalted Venus does not materialize and the native is troubled by the blemish” The same verse is repeated in the Kerala Nadi by Mysore University with the addition of  one more condition:‐

“If Jupiter is conjoined with or aspected by Saturn and Venus is with Ketu, malavya yoga is cancelled” Sri C.S.Patel , while giving out the combination, gave the reason as “...Probably, the association or aspect of Saturn over Jupiter or conjunction of Ketu with the yoga producing planet stunts the growth of beneficial results, in spite of MPY. This gives a clue as to why MPY, sometimes, do not g ive prescribed results in some natives.” This combination is present in Chart 1. At last, one reason is here for the non‐functionality of Malavya yoga! But applying this rule common to all the MPYs’ as suggested by Shri C.S.Patel was another question. Mr Patels explanation has been discussed over the years by many & experienced of us knows his explanation does not work in toto on all charts where MPY is present but not working. The verse was duly noted down and was discussed for much time with our editor over the years. But no hints came up except another verse was given in the 13 th Chapter of Manasagari while discussing yogas which is reproduced in Devanagari here:‐

के ोगा ोगा यिप भ  ूस  ुताा ताा माा  ड ड शीतांश  ुय  ुता ता भिव। क  ु  ु व    िनोविपतमापाके िनोविपतमापाके यिते केवल सिलान॥ kendroccagā yadyapi bhūsutādyā mārttāṇḍa śītāṁśuyutā bhavanti | kurvantinorvīpatimātmapāke yaścantite kevala satphalāni ||  Manasagari Chap. 13 Verse 9.

The gist of above verse translated is “The conjunction of yoga‐giving planets with Sun or Moon leads to cancellation of such yogas, due to which, only ordinary good results be Vide his book “Navamsa “Navamsa and Nadi Astrology” page 76, Sagar Sagar Publications, New Delhi Delhi ‘Managasareejataka Paddhathi – Ayanachandrika’ Ayanachandrika’ Commentary Commentary in Malayalam by Shri M.C.Krishna Pillai. 3

expected in such planets’ dasas or antardasas”. The combination was tested in some charts but the result was not so convincing. The shloka in Devakeralam was always there in the mind, waiting to be deciphered. And one day, suddenly the inter‐relation between the three “Venus‐Jupiter‐Saturn” was *flashed* in the mind.

It was inferred from this point that .

As per the above point, the following table was prepared.

Venus – (Pisces) Malavya  Jupiter   Jupiter– Hamsa Moon

Saturn

Mercury– Bhadra Mars ‐ Ruchaka

Mercury

Saturn – Sasa

Venus

Ju + Sa or Sa aspects aspect s Ju

(Mercury being aspected by Venus is astronomically impossible unless the theory “Aspects in Divisionals” are accepted, which will be discussed at a later issue.) This theory was tested in some horoscopes for each yoga‐planet separately. Initially, the second condition viz., conjunction of Ketu was not taken but afterwards, it was used as an additional confirmation of cancellation. Something important must first be mentioned, in younger years of our experience most of us ascribe great success to a native to MPY present in the chart but actually that success might be happening due to some other yoga present in 4

the chart. This point must be kept in mind before we venture into testing this proposed theory of MPY cancellation presented in this paper. As a starter, the charts are given for each Mahapurusha Yoga (MPY) in which cancellation occurs as per the theory.

The details of chart‐1 are given, in which the for cancellation of Malavya yoga clearly seen and was more visible than any other chart. The point is the planetary conjunction or aspect of Sat is repeating in D‐1, D‐9 and D‐10 though in D‐9, Malavya yoga from Lagna. Born 4/12/1964, 4.20, E, 23‐16 N

This native, working under Department of Revenue, Govt. of India, had not been promoted so far for the last 20 years which in itself is a rare case considering the fact that the native is known for his intelligence. Here, Venus is exalted in Pisces. So, take Jupiter, lord of Pisces as B. Note the sign where this planet B is debilitated and take the lord of that sign, Saturn in this case. Saturn is in Kumbha and Jupiter is in Aries. Saturn aspects Jupiter Jup iter by its 3rd aspect. Malavya yoga due to Venus’ situation in exalted or own sign identical with Kendra reckoned from Lagna or moon gets cancelled as the Saturn aspects Jupiter by his 3rd aspect in D1 & conjunction in D9 respectively. For astrologers who use yogas in Divisional Charts, we can see that the malavya yoga in dasamsa is cancelled by Jupiter in 10th house being aspected by Saturn from 1st house.

In chart 2, there is Hamsa yoga thanks to Jupiter being exalted in 7 th house. As per native’s own version, the best thing happened in Jupiter dasa which was from Jup MD: 2nd June, 1993 to 02nd  June, 2009, was only marriage (7th house) and birth of a baby b aby girl (Jupiter being Putra karaka). Beyond marriage and children, nothing else has happened; even the characteristics as described for Hamsa Hams a Yoga are not not exhibited by the native. Jupiter dutifully forgot his duty!

6

418

Here hamsa yoga which is by Jupiter, now take its exalted Rasi that is Cancer so its Lord Moon becomes B & it’s (moon i.e. B) debilitation sign becomes Scorpio who lord becomes Mars. Then we see that Mars is aspecting Moon satisfying the condition given by our postulation & thereby cancelling (bhanga) the Hamsa Mahapurusha Yoga of Jupiter.

This chart is of a Bank employee who was recently promoted as Manager. Mercury’s placement in Virgo, the 7th house was not so exciting. Of course, he was promoted as Manager during the fag end of Mercury Dasa

Also, just out of curiosity, this principle was extended to Sun and moon and tested in some charts, the results are very much convincing, probably a subject matter to be dealt with at a later date. 7

419

Sun

Mars

Moon

Ma + Moon or Moon aspects Mars (just reverse of Ju )

Moon

Venus

Mercury

Ve + Me or Me aspects Ve (just like in the case of Sa, this is impossible except in divisional charts)

Well, referring to the rules for Saturn, you will find that Saturn gets exalted in Venusian sign Libra and Venus gets debilitated in Mercury’s Virgo. Like that, Moon gets exalted in Taurus, another Venusian sign, the lord Venus gets debilitated in Virgo. So, Moon’s exaltation gets cancelled by aspect/conjunction of  Venus and Mercury. But, Mercury and Venus cannot aspect each other in Rasi charts; their conjunction is the only point that can happen in Rasi chart which leads to cancellation of moon’s exaltation. The yoga can get cancelled in divisional charts by aspect/conjunction.

.. The

good results of exalted Venus do not materialize” led to another parallel observation of exalted planets and its results on similar lines. Though it is premature to say that this MPY bhanga yoga works always, it is seen from the experience that this theory holds water especially with the additional Ketu factor being taken into consideration. This could be one of the techniques for cancellation and not the only one. It is requested that the theory may be tested in some charts and the feedbacks/suggestions and/or brickbats are most welcome at [email protected] ‐‐‐ References: 1. “Devakeralam “Devaker alam – Chandrakalanadi” Chandrakalanad i” – Original Sanskrit shlokas with
