Introduction Most of us are familiar with “Rush sales order processing” in SAP. This is to create a delivery document as soon as a sales order is saved in SAP. If you’re working in SAP IS-AFS (Industry Solution – Apparel and Footwear) or SAP FMS (Fashion Management Solution) system, the allocation process (Commonly known as ARun) should take place in background automatically. (In FMS, “ARun” will execute in background only in case if the Site / Article is setup as “ARun” relevant). We have similar setup for stock transport orders (STO), where we can automatically create a delivery document in the supplying site (plant), when stock transport order is saved in SAP. This process also known as immediate delivery creation at stock transport orders or Rush STO. Similar to above rush sales order scenario, Allocation / ARun needs to be executed in background in SAP IS-AFS or SAP FMS for rush STO’s. If you want to learn more about intra company stock transport orders, please click here. Today we will discuss how we can configure a new rush stock transport order type (STO) in SAP FMS.
Configuration Since SAP Fashion Management Solution (FMS) is setup as a IS-Retail system, the configuration is shared between actual SPRO configuration nodes and master data (Where ever site is involved). Therefore, we will first do master data configurations that are necessary for rush STO process. After that we need to do all assignments to “Reference DC” and then use “Copy Rule” to copy same to other sites.
Create new Rush Stock Transport Order Type Under this IMD node, we will create a new stock transport order type as a copy of standard STO type “UB”. IMG Path:
2
Copy standard STO type “UB” and create a new document type
Under allowed item categories node, you should have below
Save the new stock transport order type
Create new delivery type for rush stock transport order deliveries Standard SAP stock transport order type “UB” is associated with the delivery type “NL” for intra company stock transport orders. If you want to use a separate delivery type for your rush STO’s you can copy delivery type “NL” under below IMG path and create a custom delivery type. IMG Path:
Copy delivery type “NL” and create your own delivery type
3
Save your new delivery type
Sales order to delivery copy control settings Please keep a note of the “Default Ord. ty” field where you have “DL” assigned to the delivery type. This is the sales order type that SAP uses to create a delivery out of STO. Sales order type “DL” to delivery type “NL” (or in my example “ZARO”) will be used to populate certain fields that are relevant for STO delivery creation. At the new delivery type save, system will automatically create this copy control as well. IMG Path:

5
Create a new ARun type for immediate stock allocation Under this IMG path, we will create a new ARun type for the immediate stock allocation at STO save, before delivery creation. IMG Path:
Create your own ARun type based on business requirement
Please note below highlighted check box, where this ARun type is flagged as immediate allocation relevant. This ARun type will not be available for online ARun in the transaction “ARUN”
6
Save the new ARun type
Define automatic segmentation determination If you’re using segmentation functionality in FMS, you will have to configure below. IMG Path:
7
Configure your default segmentation value for the supply site, receiving site and sales area combination
Now we have configured our new Rush STO Type, Rush STO Delivery type and Rush ARun type. Now it’s type to do all site assignments relevant for this configuration. In order to do this, we will first do everything to reference DC and use “Copy Rule” to copy it to other sites.
Setup Reference DC for rush stock transport order process Transaction: WB02
Enter your reference DC and go in
Now use below menu option to navigate to customizing of the reference site
8
Go to “Purchasing” tab and double click on “Shipping-specific data for stock tfr. for purch. doc. Type”
Assign new ARun Type to STO type / Supplying Site combination
From the below screen, double click on “FSH_T161VV”. This is to assign new ARun Type to STO type / Supplying Site combination
9
Create new Entry and add your combination as shown below
Save the entry
IMG Path relevant for above configuration: Above setting can be directly found under below IMG path.
10
Activate automatic delivery creation for rush STO type Now double click on the “/SPE/V_T161V”. This is to activate automatic delivery creation for your Rush STO type.
Set the “Auto Delv” setting to “X”
11
Save your setting
IMG Path relevant for above configuration: Above setting can be directly found under below IMG path.
12
Assign Delivery Type and Checking Rule
Double click on “VV_161V_VF” from below screen. Under this node, we need to assign the delivery type and checking rule to our new STO type against the supply plant.
Make below entry
Save
IMG Path relevant for above configuration: Above setting can be directly found under below IMG path.
13
After above settings, save your reference site
Copy Rush STO settings from reference site to actual sites Transaction: WB02
Maintain your actual DC / site and go in
Use below menu to copy settings from reference DC
14
Enter your reference DC name and the copy rule and press Enter key
Confirm settings
15
Save the site
Activate automatic delivery creation for PO type and shipping point combination There is one more configuration that you need to do, which I didn’t find inside reference DC customizing. Therefore, you will have to do that in the below IMG path;
16
Activate automatic delivery creation for Stock Transport Orders (Global Setting) You need to do this configuration step before start testing rush STO process in your SAP FMS system. This is a standard SAP system delivered setting that will prevent automatic delivery creation for STO’s in your system. If this setting is not done, SAP will not create delivery documents automatically at STO save. Refer OSS note: “1069448 - Outbound delivery not created automatically in ME21n for STO” for more information. Transaction: VL10CUC IMG Path:
Double click on below line
17
Remove below check box and save
Save
Test Example In order to test this, I will create a new rush stock transport order with the STO type “ZARO”. Once the STO is saved, delivery should be created automatically in background. Transaction: ME21N STO PO# - 4500000732
As shown below, the delivery document was created automatically at STO save. Please note that delivery document number can only be seen under variant article line items.
18
New delivery type “ZARO” was used for the delivery document
You can do the pick / pack and post goods issue for that delivery in the transaction VL02N Once post goods issue is completed, you can do the goods receipt (If one step STO processing is not enabled) via transaction MIGO as shown below.
Transaction: MIGO
19
Goods receipt information will be updated in the Purchase order (STO) history tab as shown below.
