What have you learnt from Learning Activity 4?  b. What are the social functions you have learnt from notices? c. How are notices structured? d. What are the lexico-grammatical features commonly found in notices?

ANSWER:

a. What have you learnt from Learning Activity 4? I have learnt about the social functions, text structures, structures, and lexico-grammatical features of a number of notices in regard to the contexts of situation, beside I have learn about the differences and similarities between a number of notices from varied contexts of situation, in regard to the social functions, text structures, and lexico- grammatical features’. features’.

 b. What are the social functions you have hav e learnt from notices? There are many functions of notice such as to give information to people to do something appropriately, to give direction, to warn people, to give information about a certain  place, and to prohibit people from doing something.

c. How are notices structured? The Generic Structure of notice are

1. Attention gather (optional) 2. Information 3. Closure (optional) d. What are the lexico-grammatical features commonly found in notices? The Significant Lexicogrammatical Features that commonly found is notice are:

1. Imperative sentence (can, should, may, etc) 2. Command (keep the door, slow down, keep the room clean, etc) 3. Declarative sentence 4. Information (for staff only, rest area, bike route, etc)

5. Prohibition sentence (no smoking, no parking, etc) 6. Spoken or written language features (forbidden, banned, prohibited, not allowed, not permitted, not suggested, can’t, may not, must not, etc) 7. Kinds of notice and their examples 8. Singular and plural nouns with or without articles a, the, this, those, my, their, etc. 9. Pronunciation, Intonation, spellings, and punctuation marks.
