Present simple and present continuous

We use the present continuous to describe activities that are happening now. I’m building a fire. He’s chopping wood.

We use the present simple to talk about habits, routines or permanent situations. We use adverbs of frequency and time expressions, such as always, every day, once a week .

The form is subject + be be +  + verb –ing verb –ing..

We use the present continuous to describe temporary situations or activities which are happening now. We use time expressions, such as now, at this moment . I live in Liverpool but I’m staying with my aunt in Manchester at the moment.

We use not to form the negative. He isn’t climbing trees. We aren’t hiking.
