Rectal vein congestion Oketsu Stuck Blood in the Abdomen Secondary treatments: Visceroptosis Vascular compression in the inner thigh CLINICAL MANIFESTATION In many cases hemorrhoids may be asymptomatic, in which case the reflexes of Oketsu and Rectal Vein congestion may appear. Symptoms of hemorrhoids include burning, itching and or bleeding of anus as well as bulging of tissue. In cases where hemorrhoids were caused by straining during bowel movement, it is also indicated to treat constipation. PALPATORY FINDINGS Palpation of Oketsu, the area between Kd16 and St 2526. Rectal Vein congestion shows as tenderness at area of left St26St27. Pressure Pain at left side of GV2, in the area of Bl35. Shoulder pain on right side with pressure pain at right Huato Jiaji of C3 If this congestion has developed into portal vein congestion that irritates the liver, pressure pain can be found at the right Bl17 to Bl18 area. Visceroptosis and Compression of inner thigh should both be evaluated. TREATMENT STRATEGIES Points Clear Oketsu left Lu5 and Liv 4, if this does not clear pain, needle left St27 directly. Left Lv4 needled at 15˚ to 45˚ angle upwards, with flow of meridian or perpendicular to clear the reflex at left Kid15 to St27. If left Lu 5 does not clear pain, then Lu 6 as xicleft point is indicated for hemorrhoids or anal fistula. Lu 6 should be needled with the channel to reduce pressure pain at left St 25, and treated with direct thread sized moxa, as to reduce reflex tenderness. After this treatment, magnets should be applied to this point and left on for five to seven days. The patient should be instructed to tap on these magnets. Bl35 needled perpendicularly with a 50mm needle, depth determined by reduction of reflexes of right HJJ of C3, left BL1718 area, and right are of Bl43. Look for gummy or tight points when looking for insertion point. If the area is cold, Kyutoshin moxa should be burned on top of the needle. GV2 “Circle of qi” if tender may be treated with direct thread moxa or with Tiger Warmer. Magnet therapy may also prove effective with North pole on GV2 and South pole on a point that reduces pain, GV13, Lu8 or ST25 are some examples. In the case of bleeding hemorrhoids, Sp7 is indications in combination with Lu6. Immune points at Master Nagano’s bilateral LI10 to LI11 area needled to release pressure as ASIS.

pressure as ASIS. Needling the sacral Liao points with Kyutoshin moxa on the top of the needles is a very important component for decongesting hemorrhoids, for the aftercare of hemorrhoidectomy, and needling these points with warm needles can prevent new hemorrhoids. PATIENT EDUCATION / RECOMMENDATIONS Patient should be instructed to tap on magnets left at Lu6. Patient instructed to use Tiger Warmer to keep area of Du2 and sacral Liao points warm. Liao points can be needled with Kyutoshin moxa as preventative treatment against reoccurrence. PROGNOSIS Treatment can be extremely effective.
