Schools Division of Digos City READING CATCH-UP PLAN SY 2022-2023 Rationale In support to the call of producing productive and responsible citizen equipped with essential competencies and skills for lifelong learning, the Schools Division Office of Digos City actively responds to this goal by strengthening the reading program which aims to make every learner a proficient reader. However, despite the concerted efforts, the reading program initiatives are still not enough to make all learners a reader at their level. In fact, as revealed in the latest overall division posttest assessment as of July 12, 2022, there are 3,463 learners out of 23,256 learners or 14.89% identified as Frustration Level readers and 4,400 learners or 18.91% belong to Instructional Level. To address the gap, there is a need to religiously implement the Reading Catch-Up Plan that contains the comprehensive reading curriculum so as to increase the reading proficiency of every learner. This plan will guide the teachers in helping learners to track the reading progress and eventually improve reading proficiency and to prepare them for productive academic learning and engagement.
