Description

Enter the fascinating world of the mind and discover your Inner Self. Radiesthesia is the science dealing with the study of energy fields by sensitive individuals or the study of human body's perception of, and reaction to, ultralow intensity radiation. The operational technique is known by various terms, such as dowsing, divining, etc., which means the same thing. Radiesthesia mostly deals with detecting diseases in human beings or is applied to medical divining, whereas dowsing deals with underground water, oil, minerals etc. The purpose of my EBooks in Radiesthesia is to initiate you in the practice of handling the capabilities of your mind, expand your intuition and give you the tools that will allow you to increase your potential. The knowledge that you will acquire will elevate your consciousness to superior levels, in order to help yourself and others. Radiesthesia is a science that allows us to detect the electromagnetic field of everything around us. Radiesthesia has been used since very ancient times, and its applications cover a wide range of possibilities.

Foreword Why would anyone need to use a pendulum? Well if you are serious about brain/mind development this is just one of many great ways as meditation is, to open your inner abilities and it's easy to use. The main reason I use the pendulum is purely to aid and further develop my inner growth as “within you is the power”; although, occasionally I have used my pendulum to aid myself when I have a problem in daily life, or problems caused by people as their dishonesty to gratify themselves. I have been from 1974 to 2010 a religious leader where the handling of the pendulum revealed colleague’s dishonesty to arrive at their personal promotion and the like. Indeed, it can take between a few weeks to a few months for the accuracy of the pendulum to become consistent as every skill needs development, and when it does there are many great uses for it, the list is endless. First you will need to make a pendulum if you don't already have one, when I first started to use one, all I used was a plumb line, which is what builders use to find level edges. Basically all it is, is a piece of string with a weight on the end. In fact, you can use anything you wish, chain, string, cotton, nylon etc. and the 2

same goes for the weight at the end, you can use stones, crystals, keys, rings, nuts and bolts as long as its heavy enough to act as a pendulum. In its simplest form all you need to do is tie a weight to one end of a piece of string. Suggested string length should be around 20 to 30 cm. There are so many suggested ways of holding a pendulum, to be honest I don't think it matters that much, at the end of the day it’s what you feel is right for you, that's the best way in any psychic or mental development. All I do is hold the string between my finger and thumb, and at arms height and at about half arm’s length. Now about which hand to use, well I have two theories on this. You can either use the hand that you don't write with, the reason for this is, let’s say As quite a few among us, your left handed, “so my left hand would be stronger than my right hand,” so if I used my right hand I would have less conscious control over the pendulum, which is what you should want. The other theory is to do with subconscious and the right side of the brain. The subconscious is the part of the brain/mind, which deals with all the mental (psychic) phenomena, and also the right side of the brain is connected to the left hand side of our body, so in this theory we use the left hand to hold the pendulum. It all is what is best for you. I've done a lot of experiments on myself in this area with self-hypnosis and found it to be a fact. Try both, and make out what is best for you. You will have an advantage if you are initially right handed because you will be using your left hand to hold a “witness” (photo or related object to enforce your question. You can also apply this theory to anything, whether it be choosing tarot cards, runes, etc. Another important thing to mention is the sceptics, they will often say "Well It’s the Subconscious which is moving the Pendulum" and that's correct it is the subconscious, but that's exactly what you want to happen, like I often say it’s the subconscious part of the brain/mind that deals with the psychic communication. All right, now we need to establish as first attempt to radiesthesia some sort of YES and NO method (see chart further on page 8) to use with the pendulum. We need to program the subconscious to recognize a YES and NO response. The best way I found in doing this at first many years ago, was to consciously start the pendulum moving (make it swing) in a clockwise motion and while you are doing this you can mentally or out loud keep repeating the word "YES" over and over. Then do the same for the NO response, but this time consciously swing the pendulum anticlockwise. You may need to do each one for about 5 minutes and leave a few minutes between each response. You can also try it the other way round too, anticlockwise for YES and clockwise for NO, again whatever works best for you. 3

You may find that your YES or NO answer may swing just backward and forward and not clockwise/anticlockwise that's fine as long as you can establish a YES and NO response. Now we'll look at learning to use the pendulum. You will need some playing cards for this, a selection of about 10 will do, as long as they're equally mixed with red and black. Next mix them up so you don't know the order and lay them out face down on a table. Take your pendulum and hold over each one in turn and ask "Is this card red" or "Is this card black" and note your answers you may not get them all correct first time, but after a few days or even weeks you will start to see an improvement. When you get a bit more experienced you can start by asking for the colour of the card, the suit of the card and even the card itself. This is actually a very good method for developing inner ability, you may find after a 4 or 5 months you won't even need the pendulum, you will hear or see the answer in your mind. After a few months of using the pendulum, start by using your hand as the pendulum, hold a card face down in your right palm and hold your left hand over the card and ask, "Is this card" etc. Your hand will become the pendulum and move in either clockwise or anticlockwise motion depending on which way you have set for the YES and NO response, this can take a little longer to get used to but it does work. Your mind is power. Try to use the methods above continually, every day, for about 4 weeks. You can use the pendulum for all sorts of things from finding lost jewellery to finding out so many things. As with all psychic and spiritual things don't expect instant results over night, they can take time, but you should see some big improvements in a matter of weeks.

Radiesthesia and the Major Arcana as Archetype Guide As Abbé Alexis Mermet, Swiss/French Radiesthetist1 has firmly claimed, that the methods of radiesthesia excludes any kind of occultism and magic black or

Abbé Alexis Mermet, born November 11, 1866 and died in 1937, French Jesuit priest near Annecy, the young Alexis was first curate at Saint-Jean Tholome, then pastor of Cernier, of Landeron and Saint-Prex, before finally settling in Jussy, where he serves a small chapel. But it is to the art of dowsing he truly dedicates his life. Son and grand-son of estimated rod dowsers of Savoie, Father Alexis Mermet was initiated in his youth to the art of dowsing.

white, and is open to everybody, in which is explained how one may detect, without any special gift, the radiation of matter, and discover subterranean springs, buried treasures, lost persons, criminals, etc. This is what he wrote in his book, “How I Operate” (Comment J’opère): "Among radiesthetists I have observed two tendencies. Some, endowed with a really scientific temperament, see and seek in Radiesthesia a new branch of physics of waves and radiations. Others possessing psychic and metaphysical tendencies, attracted by the wonders of occultism, aim at linking up Radiesthesia with phenomena of abnormal hyper-sensibility or spiritism. "Personally, I must make my own position quite clear. I regard Radiesthesia as being purely scientific. If it had not been so, I should have given it up long ago. All the facts I have observed, whether explicable or not, appear to be purely natural and the mystery associated with them is of the same kind as that characteristic of luminous, calorific and Hertzian waves. Hence my endeavors have always been to discover the points of contact between these branches so closely akin to the same science and I hope that those more learned than I will continue to investigate on the same lines. "My own conviction is that those who try to associate Radiesthesia with occultism are doing a great deal of harm to it. I formally decline any solidarity with them, any responsibility for their theories and explanations and terms they use. Of course, one cannot stop anyone from calling

Everything started in 1893, year of severe drought; he announced confidently that there was water in the farm of a farmer whose cows were thirsty and showed their tongues. They dug and found a source of 21 liters / minute, two liters more that he had expected. Soon, Abbé MERMET would oscillate his pendulum to other resources: metal traces, lost items, missing persons, detection of diseases. He was called in Africa, Asia to detect oil. To simplify his job or even to save time, he invented the "teleradiesthesia", which enabled him, while still in his parish, to find water, oil, missing person, on a geographical map unfolded before him and above all, revealing to the world the existence of a set of galleries at the caves of Lacave, in the Lot district. Along the same idea, he created the "pendulum medical diagnosis" that could, under certain conditions, be made possible through him.. Moreover, he was also named the "Prince of Dowsers."

himself a radiesthetist but it would be most unfair if the misconceptions of misguided enthusiasts should bring discredit to Radiesthesia. It is believed that the rediscovery of the radiesthetic faculty in these modern times is not accidental, but that it has been vouchsafed to us by providence as it were to enable us to cope with the difficult and dangerous stage in human development which lies immediately ahead, for it gives indirect access to the supersensible world, more particularly to the psychic, thus raising our level of consciousness and extending our awareness and knowledge. The faculty should be regarded as a special and peculiar sense halfway between our ordinary physical senses which apprehend the material world, and our to-be-developed future psychic senses which - in due course - will apprehend the supersensible world direct. The implements of radiesthesia have been around a long time, methods of dowsing or divining to determine something. It is considered the easiest of the intuitional approaches to the application of radiesthesia, such as dowsing rods for finding water or the pendulum for finding answers to our questions through movement as explained in this work. Radiesthesia refers to the act of detection by the human body. Theory has it that all human bodies have a unique energy or radiation characteristic. The practitioner has an ability to detect this energy field in order to find things such as water underground or to diagnosis an illness on some level of the body or psychic field. Rods and pendulums are the primary implements used in the divination as it were of dowsing. Radiesthesia was originally used in Switzerland and France by Abbé Mermet to discover missing people, making diagnosis and prescribing treatments but dowsing for water has been strongly associated with synonymous. Whereas the rod was initially used, the small pendulum began to be used as an indicator everywhere. The professional radiesthetist or dowser is someone who has developed and is very sensitive to substances around them, considered sensitive to energy which can be amplified by their usage of the pendulum or rod. Using the rod or pendulum is similar to connecting with a psychic medium, extremely close to ESP than simply contemporary physics. The pendulum was chosen over the larger rod as it was easier to work with in medical diagnosis. A pendulum is a long chain or string with a ring, a small crystal even or object at its end. I am using the Abbé Mermet pendulum preferably in metal or lighter in ebonite with a cavity within in which one can insert a “witness” as it is called (for instance something very small belonging to a missing person). The string or chain being held by the hand needs to be something that is nonwoven (a chain for instance) , 6

in order to adequately receive the energy movement coming up from the object on the end.

Highly important in the receiver is the ability to use the pendulum without any personal muscular activity influence interfering with the object. The mind should be completely empty of emotion and personal interference, other than the question asked and the influence of the sought-after answer to the object at the end. The string or chain is held over the area is question, such as an area where water could be underground. What is crucial is the action which arrives upon the question, with an oscillating movement clockwise, anticlockwise, or back and forth. When a medical diagnosis by a doctor (only him or her) is desired, the pendulum is placed over the healthy part of the body, then repeated over an unhealthy part - the pendulum will move differently between the two areas. Many people use the pendulum for Yes or No answers, with the "Yes" answers causing a clockwise rotation, while a "No" answer causes a anticlockwise movement, but there are other methods.

Radiesthesia with Pendulum and Charts Step 1: Begin by formulating a well thought out question. This is always the most important step in all dowsing work. Write the question down. Step 2: Be sure that when you formulate the question that it is in a form in which you will receive the answer to the question you want to ask and not an answer to a question that you think you asked.

7

Step 3: Centre yourself, connect with your mind, your Higher Self, it’s a must for dowsing, as through the practice of meditation as taught in psychosynthesis (Dr. Roberto Assagioli, MD), or other techniques as in Yoga. But, please follow your own protocols here. Step 4: Ask if you are ready, willing, and able to dowse for the information. Many dowsers use the form “May I, Can I, Should I.” It helps to attune yourself to what you wish to achieve. Step 5: Ask the question that you have written down from step 1: Relax and allow the pendulum to swing to the place on the chart that indicates the best answer to your question. Note: If dowsing a full circle chart and you are not sure how to read your leading edge. Ask first if the answer to the question you are seeking is on the Right of Left side of the chart. If on the Left side your pendulum should swing pointing upper left to lower right. Or if your answer is to be found on the Right then the pendulum should swing diagonally pointing to the right or upper swing right to lower left. Once you have determined which side of the chart to read your answer on you can go ahead and dowse your question. Alternatively you can dowse the question, get your two possible answers and then dowse asking for a Yes or No for each possible answer. Personally, I never use a full circle chart as it may dangerously confuse the outcome of the answer.

This empty chart can be used to fill your probable answers to your own questions

Learn the “yes or no” dowsing by using this chart:

The pendulum will first circle clockwise around the dot, until you have formulated a question, watch it’s moving, and where it remains oscillating is the answer.

Using the Major Arcana of the Tarot in Radiesthesia The teaching of the Tarot is a psychological body of knowledge based on material that was revealed orally because in time past it could not have been communicated in any other way. I believe that the main theme hidden in the Major Arcana is the development, of humankind, step by step. It first depicts our mental background, its condensation and descend in the physical world. It then describes what is encountered at the individual level, as one attempts the journey towards connecting mind and body. Over the centuries the order of the cards may have shifted, but this is of no great importance if one link of the chain sometimes precedes another. The twenty-two Major Arcana Tarot card meanings illustrate the structure of human consciousness and, as such, hold the keys to life lessons passed down through the ages. The imagery of the Major Arcana Tarot cards is filled with wisdom from multiple cultures and esoteric traditions, including the Egyptian, Buddhist, Hindu, Hebrew and Christian religions. To what use can a radiesthetist put these cards? It seems to me that hearing tales as we are used to in the world religions as well, may comfort those who feel in 9

exile, wherever they are. Knowing about the original harmony and that “as above (mind), so below (brain)” may encourage those who are about to struggle in hopelessness. Moreover, at a very practical level, the reason psychic breakdown is very often not so much the invasion of unconscious material, but that the one to whom is happens has too narrow a value system to encompass the experience. One needs sufficient flexibility, either mentally or emotionally, to adopt a broadminded and compassionate attitude toward what comes up from the unconscious without being exploded by it. The Major Arcana cards do represent Carl Jung’s archetypes – consistent, directing patterns of influence that are an inherent part of human nature. They are themes which mark, portray and symbolise stages in our psyche whereby we aim to become a balanced and integrated person. Along this journey, we encounter challenges, face adversity, perform labours, make hard decisions and fight opposing forces. Each step of the way brings us closer to enlightenment. This is often referred to as the journey of the Fool. Each Major Arcana card is numbered, following a sequence of archetypal life stages from the beginning (the innocent and eager Fool) to the end (The World, a card of completion). The cards depict universal characters and situations, moving through the ups and downs of life, and they take on different meanings depending on what type of question you ask, where they turn up in your spread and whether they display right-side-up or reversed.

Carl Gustaf Jung, Psychologist Carl Gustav Jung (1875-1961), a Swiss psychiatrist and colleague of Sigmund Freud, was one of the pioneers of the psychoanalytic movement. He was a creative thinker whose observation of correspondences between world religions, mythologies, and the dreams of his patients led to a unique overview of the human condition. Firstly, Jung emphasised the reality of the psychic life in the brain, a fact that separated him from the empirically-oriented mainstream of academic psychology of his time. Secondly, he proposed that all human consciousness is linked together, and that the consciousness of each person is like a small pond which trickles into the ocean of a shared “collective unconscious.” Thirdly, the key principle involves the contents of this collective unconscious what Carl Gustaf Jung and Roberto Assagioli called “archetypes”. These are “cultural imprints,” images and ideas built up by the thoughts of mankind throughout history. Over the centuries there had developed, as an example, a generalised concept of “mother”. This is a cross-cultural idea seen in mythologies, in fairy tales, and in world religions from where they come from. The “Great Mother,” or “Mother Earth,” appears (especially in dreams) under an incalculable variety of forms. This universal mother can be loving or nurturing, or she can be a sort of Medusa, a hag whose very glance destroys. 10

Following Jung’s suggestion of a relationship between the archetypes and the complete Tarot, the seventy-eight paintings have always been created in its most different forms as “archetypal images” Through them we can begin to tap into the irrational materials of the personal unconscious and then into the collective unconscious realm which, in principle, determines our conscious behaviour. Fourthly, is that the Jungian psychology is based on that everything is based on opposites, male and female. In the Major Arcana of the Tarot, the Magickian is the totality of Self, a unity which is the potential for both male and female. All other cards, except “The Fool”, show aspects of one or the other, like separate facets of two crystals which have been broken from a single primordial crystal. Female is shown, among other aspects, as Maiden, as Mother, as Grandmother, as Whore even. Man is seen as a boy, as father, and as grandfather. The cards of the Tarot whatever are intended for personal use as for interaction between professional psychotherapists and patient. The Tarot is never intended to foster belief in any mythological, occult, or religious system. To use these cards effectively one need not to espouse any program of ideas, not even the essential Jungian postulate of archetypes of the collective unconscious. One need only approach these cards with a “willing suspension of disbelief,” and then draw personal conclusions about the results of their use under given circumstances.

How to use the pendulum chart for reading the Tarot? Lay the chart face up, flat on a table and hold your pendulum directly over the chart's hinge-point (the spot the arrow points at). Specify the source of the pendulum's answers (your higher self) and ask your question. For example, "What is life's lesson today?" or "Help me understand the significance of ______________ (this could be an event or synchronicity that you want to explore the meaning of)". Wait for the pendulum to show you the card (or cards) that contain the answer. Your pendulum may begin in a circular or even an erratic swing. Be patient and it will eventually evolve into a directional swing - outwards from the point, over one or more wedges in the chart. When it settles into a consistent directional swing above one wedge, it is indicating the card shown in that wedge. You can use the images on side two to take a closer look at a card(s) selected by side one, or use your own set of tarot cards which is even better. To interpret the message or card meaning, refer to your favourite Tarot books or the comments as hereunder. To verify a selected card, place side two face up and flat on a table. Locate the card in question and hold your pendulum about 1/2" above its image. If your pendulum is already programmed for yes/no answers, you can simply ask, "Is 12

this the right card?" and watch for a yes/no/maybe answer. Another way to confirm a card is to say "Confirm if this is the right card." If pendulum swings clockwise, it's confirmed. If it swings counter-clockwise or is unclear and you'll want to go back to the side one chart to re-ask or even rephrase the question.

Charts We all have the ability to access our intuitive capacities by using a pendulum. Learning to use a pendulum is like learning any other skill. It requires time, determination, trust, balance and persistent practice. Given these, success can be expected. Every object, animate or inanimate, gives off energetic radiation, and our expanded senses can feel and measure these energies. The intuitive, or super-conscious mind is the recipient of this information when we bridge the mind and the intuition. A chart gives you a mechanism to make any multiple choice decision with your pendulum. Instead of querying only "yes/no/maybe" (see chart on page 4), you can create a chart that contains all the possible answers, which allows your pendulum to go straight the answer in a single question, instead of having to do a series of yes/no questions.

We all have the ability to access our intuitive capacities by using a pendulum. The pendulum is only a communication device between the conscious and the subconscious mind or intuition. The pendulum itself does not gives you answers. It is nothing more than an object to give you the means or language to make conscious the Intuition. Successful use of a pendulum is a matter of establishing a clear, precise and consistent language between the two parts of the mind. The subconscious mind takes all communications literally. It takes time for the subconscious to understand what is expected of it and respond accordingly. It is necessary to approach the pendulum with enthusiasm, optimism and the confidence that you are able to use it. It is an incredible skill that can allow you access to information, knowledge and wisdom beyond all limitations.

Your answers with a “yes or no, maybe or ask again” chart Start swinging the pendulum over the "Yes" direction (the dot/yes direction) and say to yourself: "The following program is to be continually in effect until I choose to make changes: Every time the pendulum swings in this direction it will indicate a "Yes" answer." Now, swinging the pendulum over the "No" direction(s) and say: "Every time the pendulum swings in this direction it will indicate a "No" Answer." This is called programming! As such, you have now set up a code between your conscious and your subconscious. Start swinging the pendulum over the chart while asking your question, to complete the answer you already received from your previous attempt.

Before you even have spoken or thought anything the pendulum will swing between the dot and the yes in wait for your question. Having thought or spoken your question, the pendulum will provide one of the four answers. Never influence the answer through wishful thinking. Always impartial remaining the observer only.

Appendix from the Editor and Author of this EBook Publication

In 1934, four years before the Editor of this EBook was born in 1938, Abbé Mermet was involved in a legal action in Switzerland for alleged ‘illegal’ practice of medicine. He was acquitted of the charge brought against him by some local medical bureaucrats who, however, appealed against the verdict and succeeded in getting it annulled, with the result that Abbé Mermet was fined. It has been reported as history tells, that this stupid miscarriage of justice caused great anger and indignation among Abbé Mermet’s supporters, including a number of eminent doctors and laymen, who expressed their outraged feelings in a stream of letters to the Abbé.

64

As this legal action had no scientific relevance at all to the principles and practice of Radiesthesia, it was decided to omit, in the English translation along the various editions, the lengthy account of the case and the considerable correspondence concerned with it. It was also considered unnecessary to include the favourable opinions on Radiesthesia of two French authors both long since deceased, Leon Daudet and Marcel Prevost, which are of little interest or importance to English worldwide. The Editor of this EBook is not a professional radiesthetist, but used for years and years the pendulum only for personal reasons, and with success when he needed assistance. Though he has been in the business world, he was also actively integrated in religion just as Abbé Mermet (in English Reverend Father Alexis Mermet) from 1974 when he was ordained to the priesthood, in SaintCyr-sur-Mer, France. Later the same year he was consecrated an Old Catholic bishop in an Independent Old Roman Catholic Church, deriving its Apostolic Succession mainly from the Eglise Gallicane, founder and widely known Archbishop René Villatte (Old Catholic), who at last received a pension from the Vatican (Rome). As such, the editor understands best the difficulties Abbé Mermet was confronted with, the misunderstanding around his person. Radiesthesia did lead the editor’s life, but not from the point-of-view of religion. Before 1974, the editor also partook in the work of the Meditation Groups and Psychosynthesis, Sundial House, Tunbridge Wells, Kent, UK, found by Dr. Roberto Assagioli, MD from Italy. From there, the editor is well acquainted with the science of the mind and its workings. In 2010, the editor ended all religious activities, and became an atheist (this is how he calls himself today). To be short, religion is brain work only, man’s work, as reading there sacred books they were instituted mainly for political reasons, and as such creating fear and obeisance. Let us simply say this, our thoughts create reality through functions and processes of a brain that is our faithful servant. Human beings are meaningmakers and information processors. We are compelled to make sense of the world around us. Mind Power creates and controls reality. Think of Desire-Force as the warm, ardent, fiery, forceful energy, underlying the manifestations of Mind-Power; and of the Will-Power as the cold, keen, strong, directing, controlling projector of the energy. By fixing these mental images in your mind, you will be better able to manifest the two phases as occasion arises. To create a thing you must want it 65

with a burning desire that allows no denial, backed up by a will that knows no such word as “can’t” or “no.” To live as a powerful creator, you have to banish the illusion as religion once and for all that you are not in control. Because you will always arrive back at the core truth that you are the creator of your reality within yourself and that you control all of it. Not being in control makes you feel like a victim, of religion, as an example. Nothing happens outside of you. Everything is happening within you. You are Consciousness, and Consciousness encompasses All That Is. Whenever you feel not being in control, you are experiencing an illusion. You created the illusion of not being in control, of not being God. You are the director of the script and can control at will. This has helped the Editor a lot: “I am the Power, I am the Glory, I am another God.” Don’t be a victim. All power is within you and is absolutely under your control. To say that things happen through another cause other than yourself is to say that you are a victim. Radiesthesia is the power to connect with the subconscious and get knowledge so that you are more in control over yourself and matters around you. It also gives you the knowledge to discover what lies hidden and unknown, otherwise. The best and the most important thing about radiesthesia is that this knowledge is not limited to any particular group of people, like seers, kings, etc. It is available for everyone, for each one of us. All you need is a radiesthesia pendulum. This can be made even from a piece of thread and a small finger ring. What seemed like para science yesterday and is not, becomes the science of the mind today. As we have learnt from Abbé Alexis Mermet in this Ebook, Radiesthesia can be used to: Select a mechanic Identify automobile problem Choose the most suitable rental car company Choose the most suitable car to buy Locate where you parked your car For communicating with one’s subconscious Finding ways to enhance psychic awareness and strengths Knowing about the past Removing mental blocks 66

For Locating Underground Resources Locate wells, water pipes, sewer lines, underground streams, etc. Divert water, for example, to a dry well or around a house/apartment Analyse water problems, for example, check source and level of contamination Check for water leaks Locate underground electric lines, gas lines, telephone lines, fault lines, etc. Locate buried mines and booby-traps Find buried or hidden treasure Locate oil or minerals, and much more The author and editor, we see in his EBooks uses mainly maps as they are like pictures – symbolic form representations that carry the vibrations of what they portray. To do map or picture dowsing, visualize what you want to find and swing your pendulum over the areas represented. You can detect water, minerals or lost objects by attuning your vibration of intention to ‘home’ in on the vibration of that which is sought. Your pendulum will circle when it locates what you want. Practice will make you better, but don’t forget that with some people it takes a 20 – 30 second attunement and adjustment before achieving results.
