OVERVIEW OF THE INSTRUCTOR QUESTIONNAIRE PLATFORM The Online Questionnaire Platform is a tool where instructors can create questionnaires to: 

evaluate the participant knowledge in specific topics such as marketing or Blue Ocean Strategy;



make sure that they have read and understood the pre-reading materials;



conduct peer-to-peer assessments.

This questionnaire platform is built into the StratX Simulations website and is very easy to use, both for instructors and students. It proposes pre-defined templates, but also offers to professors the ability to create custom questionnaires. Participants have the option to start, stop and resume questionnaires at any time. Analyzing the results of each questionnaire is made simple with multiple reports to view and export to Excel.

KNOWLEDGE EVALUATION AND PEER-TO-PEER EVALUATION There are two types of questionnaires: Knowledge Evaluation and Peer-to-Peer Evaluation. 

A Knowledge Evaluation Questionnaire is a set of multiple-choice questions to be answered by each participant. It is aimed at testing their knowledge in a given topic.



A Peer-to-Peer Evaluation Questionnaire is a set of questions to examine the capabilities and behavior of participants. Each participant is evaluated by his/her teammates.

KNOWLEDGE EVALUATION QUESTIONNAIRES The Knowledge Evaluation Questionnaires is a set of multiple-choice questions to be answered by each participant. Evaluation of participant comprehension can be on the subject of your choice, i.e.: Marketing or Blue Ocean Strategy theory, simulation pre-reading materials, etc… The following is a list of pre-defined Knowledge Evaluation questionnaires. PEER-TO-PEER EVALUATION QUESTIONNAIRES The Peer-to-Peer Evaluation Questionnaires is a set of questions to examine the capabilities and behavior of team participants. Each participant is evaluated by his/her teammates. The fixed set of responses for peer-to-peer questions are: Poor, Fair, Average, Good and Excellent. StratX proposes the unique template shown below. We have tried to cover the most important aspects of behavior and capabilities in only six questions.

REVIEWING PRE-DEFINED QUESTIONNAIRES To review a pre-defined questionnaire click on: Creation > Select a simulation > Select a questionnaire You can look at a pre-defined questionnaire or one that you created by selecting it from the list. See below a sample Knowledge Evaluation questionnaire:

CREATING YOUR OWN QUESTIONNAIRES There are two options for creating your own questionnaires; you can modify one of the pre-defined questionnaires or create a brand new one. If you choose to create a brand new questionnaire, be sure to put a good amount of time aside for this because you must generate the questions as well as the correct responses and a few incorrect ones.

NEW QUESTIONNAIRE BASED ON AN EXISTING ONE To create a new questionnaire based on an existing one, click on: Creation > Select a simulation > Select a questionnaire > New questionnaire based on the selected one Now you can enter the title, description and click on Save Questionnaire.

You will see the list of questions that you can update and/or delete. To change a question, click on the question number then click on Modify question. You can modify the text of the question as well as its answers as shown in the screen shot below. When you are done, click on Save your modifications.

NEW QUESTIONNAIRE To create a brand new questionnaire, click on: Creation > Select a simulation > Select a questionnaire > New questionnaire Now you can enter the title and description, as well as the type (Knowledge or Peer-toPeer evaluation) of the new questionnaire. Click on Save Questionnaire.

A new question is created by clicking Add question.

Type in your question as shown and click Save Question.

Once the question is saved you will be able to type in a few answers and choose the correct one, as shown on Figure 5. Note that responses to peer-to-peer questions are fixed.

ACTIVATING A QUESTIONNAIRE FOR YOUR COURSE Questionnaires must be activated within your course for participants to use them. To activate a questionnaire, click on: Activation > Select a course Check the questionnaires you would like linked with that specific course and click on Activate. Click on Show Score if you want participants to view their score at the end the quiz.

Once the survey is activated, a link will appear on the students’ homepage once they login to www.stratxsimulations.com. They will simply need to click this link to access their questionnaires.

REPORTS The Online Questionnaire platform offers multiple reports and export options.

KNOWLEDGE EVALUATION QUESTIONNAIRE REPORTS Overall scores This report shows the overall tally for the class as well as each participant. It is broken down by percentage and number of correct answers.

Detailed scores by question This report shows a detailed view of each participants answer to each question.

Export to Excel All reports may be exported to Excel. Please note that we may receive a warning message when opening the file, depending on the Excel version you use. Ignore the warning and the file should open fine.

PEER-TO-PEER EVALUATION QUESTIONNAIRE REPORTS Overall scores This report shows a general view of the peer-to-peer responses for each participant including their global average.

Detailed scores This report focuses on a specific team member; it shows each question and each participant’s response. This is a great way to evaluate team dynamics.
