Psychic Attacks and the Issue of Rapport – Part I by Anthony Forwood Psychic phenomena are something I’ve been interested in all my life, and I’ve researched the subject fairly extensively and experimented with it to a lesser degree, and although I’m satisfied that these are real phenomena, I rarely bring this subject into any discussions relating to targeting or mind-control. The reason for this is because I feel that it would only encourage the sort of fears that this subject can instill in targeted individuals who are suffering the more extreme types of attacks that might or might not actually involve anything of a psychic nature. It does no good to feed their fears, and I know that deception is routinely employed in targeting to play on a target’s fears and uncertainties, so I usually avoid raising this as a possible form of attack. However, there are certain key factors about psychic phenomena that will either help to induce or to restrict these sort of events, and these factors are therefore important to understand in order for anyone to protect themselves from psychic attacks. Therefore I’m willing to publish material that might help targeted individuals to understand the subject better in order to take measures to defend themselves. These key factors are all psychological in nature, in that they have to do with the mental disposition of those involved in the actualization of a psychic event. Not all of these factors need to be present for inducing (or absent for repressing) psychic phenomena, although it will be found that each of these factors tends to have an effect on outcomes. The most important of these factors is the general acceptance and belief that these phenomena can occur. If you’re open to the idea that psychism is possible, you’re open to potential attack. A conceptual understanding of how it works isn’t necessary for these phenomena to occur, but if paranormal events can be easily

accommodated by your belief system (such as Judeo-Christianity), then it will be that much easier for psychic phenomena to be accepted as possible, and therefore easier for it to arise. Psychic phenomena won’t likely occur around anyone who only views the world in the strictly cold, mechanical terms of objective science, but for anyone who is at all open to the possibility, even if only temporarily, it has a good chance of occurring. Another very important factor where two or more people are involved – such as telepathic communication – is that of rapport. Generally, rapport means to have a special relationship where each other’s feelings or points of view are understood. To use an appropriate metaphor, it means to be ‘on the same wavelength’ where each other’s thoughts and feelings are mutually accepted and understood. When there is strong rapport between two people, a psychic connection is much likelier to develop. This is directly related to certain natural laws that apply as much in physics as they do here. When two things resonate at the same or a similar frequency, they tend to fall into synchronistic alignment so that their rhythms match. In physics, this is referred to as resonation or synchronization. When referring to relationships between people, it’s called rapport. Think about this in terms of psychic attacks and what would be needed to create a strong psychic connection. Rapport is a mental or psychic effect comparable to the physical effect of resonation or synchronization. They both offer the potential for being incorporated into remote mind-control technologies, at least on an experimental level. The recognition of rapport as a dominant factor in certain types of psychic phenomena seems to have been largely downplayed or completely ignored in the available research literature in spite of its obvious importance, and this may have been purposeful. Given the secret government research that has taken place and the published findings that have resulted from it, it seems highly probable that still-classified research into potentially exploitable factors like rapport and electronic synchronization techniques were also conducted, and that the results were positive

and therefore kept classified. In the available academic literature on psychic research, the rapport factor might occasionally be mentioned, but it’s not given any proper consideration. Where it’s mentioned, its importance is usually overlooked beyond giving a very general explanation. But nonetheless, if you consider the fact that a skeptical scientist who doesn’t believe in psychism, or one whose approach is cold and clinical, can effectively destroy any chance of rapport developing between him and his test subjects, it only makes sense that any psychic experiments he might undertake will have a high chance of getting poor results. A clinical laboratory setting tends to have a similar negative effect, but not nearly so much as the lack of rapport between those participating in the experiments. It can be seen time and again that when an appropriate level of rapport is first developed between the involved participants, there is greater success in inducing controlled psychic phenomena. The most commonly occurring type of psychic phenomenon is telepathic communication, and it will be seen from case histories that telepathy tends to occur between people who know each other intimately or have otherwise developed a strong emotional connection to each other. Even when they’ve never met someone before, people with charismatic personalities have cultivated certain skills for developing rapport with others very quickly, and this is all that’s required for telepathy to occur between them, should they go so far as to test it. Since telepathy happens in the moment and only requires that the conditions are right, a mental connection between two complete strangers can still be made long enough and strong enough to allow a psychic channel to be sustained temporarily. As I said earlier, rapport involves a mutual understanding of thoughts and feelings. This doesn’t mean that both parties must be on equal ground or see eye to eye, so to speak. Rapport is not the same as being in total agreement – only that each person understands the other to a certain level. In fact, it may not even be necessary for that understanding to be mutual. As long as one

party understands the other, a one-way telepathic connection can develop, so that the party with an understanding of the other party can send or receive telepathic signals while the other party may not be able to. There are many situations in life where strong rapport can exist between two people, such as a parent and a child, a boss and an employee, or even a master and a slave, in spite of there being a definite one-sidedness to the relationship with one party dominating and the other in a submissive position. In spite of this one-sidedness, the two parties understand each other very well and/or there’s a strong trust or dependency that the submissive party has towards the dominant party. In a situation where the submissive party is forced to adopt in order to feel safe, and where they have no control over the situation and must depend on the dominant party to deal with it, they will accept at a deeper level of their subconscious whatever proposed reality or belief system is offered to explain the situation and adopt an attitude towards the dominant party that allows them to deal with that party and the situation with as few upsets as possible. In these sorts of cases, the submissive party might even form a love/hate relationship with the dominant party, because on the one hand they rely completely on that person, but on the other hand they know that that person controls their situation and is not above doing them harm. You will find this love/hate relationship to be very common with mind-control victims towards their handlers. With all of this said, it should be clearer to anyone who is suffering from possible psychic attacks that their relationship with their attacker is one of the key factors that allows such attacks to take place. But beyond that, there is the requisite acceptance by the target of their dependency on their attacker, as well as the attacker’s understanding of the target’s deeper thoughts and feelings. Without these, rapport breaks down. Consider all of this in terms of what many people claim regarding their experiences as a target of mind-control technologies. Most commonly, they’re hearing voices that are taunting them or otherwise talking to them, and it goes on for a fairly long time. I

should point out that I’m not suggesting that these voices are telepathic, since the technology exists to do this (referred to as V2K), but rather that this might be implemented in order to initiate a relationship of sorts with the target in order to begin to develop rapport. A telepathic connection would only develop later. V2K technology only provides a method for one-way voice communication to the target, so this might be used to establish a preliminary relationship so that rapport can develop, but some sort of feedback channel is required for gauging the responses while the attacker is developing that rapport (feedback has been shown to be very important in developing one’s psychic abilities, in order to assure that signals are received accurately and mistakes made in the procedure can be corrected). Since V2K technology doesn’t provide any means for direct feedback, some other method would need to be established. This might be accomplished any number of ways, depending on the situation and the technology available. Without jumping to conclusions that remote mind-control technologies are capable of reading a person’s brain activity beyond a very superficial level, there are still a number of possible ways that feedback can be acquired, with or without the target’s knowledge. I won’t get into these in any great detail here, but I should at least point out that standard surveillance technologies can tap into your personal computer or cell phone and access its camera and microphone, or read your keyboard and mouse activity. In face-to-face communications, body language speaks much louder than words, so there’s definitely a useful feedback channel here, even if it is indirect. In fact, greater rapport will be established if the attacker is able to emulate the way the target sits and gestures, the way they use language, etc., so visually monitoring them would aid greatly in developing rapport. This mirroring technique is a well known psychological trick that’s commonly used by direct sales marketers to gain a potential customer’s confidence, but you’ll also see it being employed by the best stage hypnotists, psychic performers, and mentalists. They all use it when they first come into contact with a subject, and if possible, will even touch the person from time to time, which has

an added effect. The subject is usually being charmed with complementary words at the same time and kept as physically and emotionally comfortable as possible, in order to make them feel as open and accepting to the performer as possible. You will also see that the subject will be lightly touched at certain times while they’re being interacted with. Whenever this happens between two (or more) people, an actual electromagnetic resonation effect occurs between them, so that if they’re already ‘on the same wavelength’ and in rapport, the psychic connection between them will get a literal boost in charge and the signal will become clearer, at least for a short time. This is similar to what takes place during psychometry, where a psychic picks up information from an object that belongs to another person that tells them about that person. The object will be something that the person has handled extensively and is intimately familiar with, such as a ring or piece of clothing. The object is affected by subtle resonations just as much as anything else will be, which effectively encodes information about the person within the object. Since emotions produce distinct brainwave frequencies that are the same for all of us, and are usually very strong in comparison to more detailed mental thoughts, it’s far easier to pick these up from an object psychometrically and recognize them than it would be for any higher order information, such as the person’s name, their physical appearance, or the exact thoughts they were thinking the last time they handled the object. Once strong rapport exists between two parties, psychic communication becomes quite easy, at least while that rapport is sustained. In the situation of a psychic or mentalist performing on stage, the objective is to read the subject’s mind while they’re thinking about something in particular. Having them first write down what it is they will think about helps to bring their full attention onto it, since attention and focus help in building up the intensity of the thought as much as it gives more time for transmission to occur. But the strongest signal will usually occur at a moment when the subject is focused only on the thought to be

read at the same time that the performer is focused on picking up whatever impressions he might receive. This one-way telepathic transmission is all that would be needed by any mind-controllers to read the minds of their targets, if they’re able to establish and maintain a psychic connection. As we’ve seen, rapport is a key factor in establishing and maintaining a psychic connection. Rapport doesn’t necessitate a good relationship between the parties involved, but it does require that the target is open and accepting to the influences and abilities of the attacker, as well as that the attacker can get feedback in order to know how to proceed. For targeted individuals who are in a situation where they think they’re under psychic attack, or even those who don’t but are being targeted with V2K technology, the above information provides a means to thwart any psychic attack, provided that the person understands early enough what is going on in their interaction with their attacker and takes steps to not allow rapport to develop. This requires that the person understands themselves very well – far better than their attacker will – and that they take measures to deceive their attackers as to their true thoughts and feelings. This is easier to say than to do, however, since the level of understanding of oneself must go deeper than we normally have of ourselves, and the attacker has many technological resources at their disposal to gather extensive information to develop a profile on another person’s personality and psychological traits to a degree that they will usually know things about that person that the person isn’t even aware of themselves. The obvious solution to this requires making certain sacrifices, such as to not divulge information about your deeper thoughts and feelings about things, and to avoid using any technologies that provide the attacker with the means to monitor you for feedback or to compile data for profiling you, such as through cell phones and computers. At the very least, use of these technologies should be kept to a bare minimum, and safeguards should be taken to assure

that they aren’t able to access the microphone or camera for covert surveillance of you. There are other factors involved in telepathic communication that are also important to note, since knowing about them will also help to avoid psychic attacks. For example, research has shown that telepathic transmission and telepathic reception are each accommodated by different mental states. Specifically, telepathic communication appears to be most effective when the sender is in a highly alert or excited state and the receiver is in a calm and relaxed state. This knowledge should make it apparent to anyone who experiences psychic attacks that their thoughts are more easily transmitted when they’re first put in a state of high anxiety, fear, or excitement. On the other hand, by remaining calm and relaxed and not focusing on anything, they’re more receptive to picking up psychic signals, rather than sending them. Therefore, a psychic attacker will first attempt to influence one of these mental states depending on whether they seek to send or receive mental impressions. For those interested in a more scientific understanding of the processes taking place during psychic events, quantum physics offers a possible explanation through quantum entanglement. It has recently been theorized that the particles making up the brain are always in a state of quantum entanglement with each other, and so when two minds become synchronized and effectively resonate together, a quantum connection occurs between them and information can be transferred instantaneously. Considering this, it can be more easily understood why rapport is so important to telepathic communication. Rapport is similar to entanglement, in that a mirroring of one object by another occurs. In quantum physics, once two particles have come into contact, they remain implicitly connected so that when something changes in one of them, that change will automatically be reflected in the other, no matter how far removed they are from each other in space. I will add here some discussion of electronic enhancement of psychic abilities, since it is very likely that if two brains can be

synchronized through rapport to establish a telepathic connection between them, then the same effect might be induced and/or magnified through electromagnetic resonation. As I stated earlier, telepathic reception appears to be best when a person is in a calm and relaxed mental state, and transmission appears to be best when a person is in a highly alert or excited mental state. These states happen to correlate to certain brainwave frequencies, where the relaxed (alpha) state ranges between 7 and 13 Hz, while the alert (beta) state is between 13 and 30 Hz. Knowing this, it is entirely possible to induce these states by entraining the brainwaves electronically. This can be achieved either directly through electromagnetic bombardment, or indirectly through visual and/or audio manipulation, where the frequency of a flickering image or of a tone induces the brain to fall into step. Although the former method is not always avoidable, the latter method can be avoided by limiting your proximity to those technologies that might be used to deliver them – cell phones, computers, television, radio, etc. I should expand somewhat on the factor of belief, or the openness and acceptance to the idea that psychic phenomena are possible, because this is very significant to whether or not psychic rapport can be achieved, and to what degree. If you have strong beliefs, no matter what they are, those beliefs will play a large part in the sort of experiences you will have in life, psychic or otherwise. As I said earlier, a scientist who doesn’t believe in psychic phenomena and sees the world in cold, mechanical terms will likely never experience psychic phenomena. Such events, if they do occur in such a person’s presence, will be reasoned to have been caused by something else, and they will not be open enough to the possibility that it was psychically influenced for it to ever interfere with them. It can be thought that they essentially sacrifice the potential for their own psychic abilities in order to remain protected from such influences being impinged on them. However, for most of us, even if only out of wishful thinking or because we were taught to believe in supernatural phenomena

(such as a belief in angels, demons, spirits, interdimensional beings, curses, hexes, spells, black magic, etc.), these psychic influences from outside sources can indeed have an effect on us. It’s only the interpretation of the experience that needs to align with our beliefs for them to have that effect on us. Therefore, a psychic attacker, in order to build rapport with a target, will first seek to understand that target’s beliefs, in order to psychically attack the person in ways that are compatible with those beliefs. For this reason, it’s extremely important to understand how personal it is to share your deepest thoughts and beliefs with others, and how this sharing opens you up to easier psychic influence by anyone who is aware of them. If the reader can begin to understand how our perceptions are determined largely by our beliefs, by way of its interpretation through them, and that there is nothing that stops our beliefs from extending beyond the known (or perceived) into possibilities that are as yet unproven, then they should be able to grasp that there are recourses that can be taken to invent protective ‘shields’ from any psychic attacks by adopting beliefs that fit their preconceptions but further aid them in establishing their free will as far as it pertains to their own immediate situation at any given time. This explanation is intentionally vague, so as not to limit the potential power it might provide to the reader who is able to grasp the underlying truth of it. Contemplation on such matters is required for those who are uncertain as to this deeper truth. It would also help the reader to explore the subject of rapport further in order to gain a clear understanding of it, and examine the effect it has in various life situations apart from those relating to psychic attacks, as well as its relationship to electromagnetic resonance and synchronicity. Familiarity with a thing, no matter what it is, brings it more closely within a person’s capabilities to recognize and deal with in a way that gives them more control over it, rather than it over them.

The most important thing, in the end, is to know yourself better than others might ever know you, and to be so certain of your own sense of being and free will that no others can ever trample them. Stay strong! Psychic Attacks and the Issue of Rapport – Part II by Anthony Forwood After having written the first part of this article, I decided that I wasn’t satisfied with the very general way I described rapport, since I don’t feel that it captured the full essence of what rapport is and how it relates to psychic influencing. So, allow me to attempt to provide a more thorough description, and enlarge on this subject a little further in the process. Rapport is a kind of connection people share between themselves that goes much deeper than just knowing and understanding each other’s thoughts and feelings, which is how I generally described it in the first part of this article. It involves a deep emotional connection between the parties involved that reaches beneath the conscious level of awareness and operates at the more fundamental levels of subconscious action and response. It’s been recognized for a long time that there are various levels of telepathic communication between people, one extreme being at the level of conscious thought transference, while the other extreme is at a subconscious level that we don’t usually recognize but is actually the most commonly experienced and which we call intuition or instinct. At these lower extremes the psychic signals are instinctive and usually relate to survival and procreation, but at higher levels they can relate to social and even environmental harmony, where there’s a wider connectivity and interaction with the outside world that relate to our higher emotions.

We can see rapport arise in almost any situation where two or more minds are cooperating and fall into step, most commonly in close relationships, but we also see it within large crowds, where it’s more commonly described as herd mentality. In these latter situations, we can see that the higher intellect is overwhelmed by baser emotional response mechanisms, guided by a group mindset that each participant is acting through, almost hypnotically. Whether it’s a rioting mob or birds flying in a uniform flock, there is a greater force at work than just the separate minds of individual participants making isolated decisions. By its very nature, rapport is related to the sympathetic nervous system – to physical sensations, particularly that of pain, which is probably the most fundamental physical sensation of them all, since it’s directly related to the health and survival of the body. How often has just a mother’s soothing words eased the pain of a child? This is such a real psychological effect that a dampening of the painful sensations can be felt, even by those not directly involved but just watching, who were also present and happened to cringe at the pain they witnessed the child receiving from a fall or blow. The pain was in some way transferred to all witnesses who were already sympathetic to the child, and this transference was direct and immediate enough to make them flinch, even if the pain they sensed was not nearly as intense or as physical as for the child. This transferred effect of the sense of pain is an effect of rapport, as is the soothing effect that the mother has on the child to lessen that pain. These few examples provide evidence that rapport relates to a more primary connectivity between people and groups than higherorder communication and interaction do. They also reveal that by its nature, rapport serves a useful purpose by providing a rudimentary extension of our senses (and perhaps even our sense of self) that encompasses the underlying thoughts and feelings of those we are intimately connected with. The power of rapport has been known about since very ancient times, and has always been in the repertoire of serious occultists.

In other times, it has been variously referred to as ‘animal magnetism’, ‘mental induction’, ‘sympathetic vibrations’, etc. In Anton Mesmer’s time (late 1700s), it was a key component in his study of what later became known as hypnotism. Mesmer (re)discovered that when two or more people became involved in sympathetic states or rapport, they could exchange thoughts and emotions, and this allowed him to achieve the miraculous results of his many experiments. Modern hypnotism developed out of Mesmer’s work, but Mesmer established the basic underlying principles at work in either case. Hypnotism is actually a mild form of psychic influence, so there is a direct parallel here to psychic phenomena. The connection people establish with each other through rapport is accomplished at a deeper level of mind than that of conscious thought. It engages the parties at an emotional or even intuitive level, and so it becomes respectively harder to recognize and counter the influences of, since these levels relate to more fundamental aspects of our evolved physical embodiment that operate at a subconscious level, and we aren’t always conscious of their influence. Before our ancestors developed the function of speech, we were undoubtedly more sensitive to rapport and its related modes of interaction, and both communication and survival forced us to be more reliant on it. Until we developed higher-order brain functions that included speech and language, we were far more sensitive to this deeper connectivity, which has since become drowned out by the ‘noise’ of these other mental functions. Although these deeper psychic signals are less consciously recognized now, they still have a direct subconscious influence on us, and we in turn have a subconscious impulse to respond to them, even when it goes against our higher intellect to do so. It’s only when we become aware of these deeper influences and learn to recognize them when they begin to influence us that we can override them with our higher intellect.

It should be pointed out here that there is a direct linear relationship between rapport, hypnosis, and psychic phenomena. Rapport is required between a hypnotist and his subject in order for hypnosis to be induced, and it has been shown in innumerable experiments that hypnosis enhances psychic ability, where there is a particularly strong psychic connection between the hypnotist and his subject, so that very often the subject can clearly sense not just the thoughts and feelings of the hypnotist, but also what he’s sensing through his five ordinary senses. Many other strange and interesting phenomena have also been discovered, and it’s only left to the suspended beliefs of the subject and the level of suggestibility that he has reached that that seems to determine what is possible. According to Ingo Swann, who was directly involved in the experiments conducted by the US government into remote-viewing (in a civilian capacity – he didn’t have to sell his soul in the process), it was discovered that, apart from the psychic control that a hypnotist has over his subject to follow his commands or suggestions, the subject is also in telepathic rapport with the unexpressed or subconscious motives and agendas of the hypnotist. The subject will respond to the expectations and convictions of the hypnotist, whether they’re explicitly expressed or not. Most importantly, it was realized that telepathic exchanges of information can result in ways that not only include conscious but also subconscious content, both that of the subject and that of the hypnotist, one to the other. This means that there is more than just the consciously intended commands or suggestions being transmitted to the subject, and the hypnotist must essentially expose himself to his subject if he is to psychically influence him at all. The realization that there is a two-way exchange at a subconscious level between the hypnotist and his subject, where the subject implicitly knows the thoughts and intentions of the hypnotist, is important to take into consideration in all situations where psychic influence is involved. It means that anyone who is under psychic influence will always be at least subconsciously aware of that

influence and the underlying intentions, and so they only need to be aware of this fact and direct their subconscious to respond to these influences appropriately. How might that be? The reader might be confused by that last part, so a brief explanation is in order. The mind has two basic parts, one dealing with conscious activity and the other with subconscious activity. The subconscious part is easily programmable, and it responds to every single conscious thought, intention, expectation, doubt, etc., that a person might have. Your conscious thoughts act as instructions to the subconscious, and they can often be at crosspurposes and confusing to it, leading to equally confusing subconscious programming. However, by understanding this and following a few simple rules, you can reprogram your subconscious to do just about anything you can imagine. The few simple rules are the same as those involved in forming a habit: 1) initial focused concentration on the task or instruction to be learned, and 2) repetition of the task or instruction to the point that it becomes automated. As a simple example, whenever you happen to tell yourself that you can or can’t do something, you reinforce this belief at a subconscious level, and effectively program yourself to succeed or fail. Any thought or impression you bring up in your conscious mind makes an impression on the subconscious mind, which retains it and incorporates it into the deeper processes that take place beneath your awareness. This is real power to those who understand the principles involved and how to take advantage of them. Let’s consider this in respect to psychic attacks. In reading some of the older literature on psychic influencing and the issue of rapport, I found the following excerpt from Clairvoyance and Occult Powers, by Swami Panchadasi, where he describes how long-distant rapport is created: The person may be brought into presence and psychic contact, for all practical purposes, by using the visualizing powers for the purpose of bringing him into the en rapport condition. That is to

say, by using the imagination to bring into the mind a strong clear picture of the other person, you may induce an en rapport condition in which he will be practically in the same psychic relation to you as if he were actually before you. He’s explaining how the psychic attacker uses his conscious mind to impress his subconscious mind with the psychic essence of the target subject, in order to establish a psychic connection with him. He goes on to explain about the target subject: Of course, if he is sufficiently well informed regarding occult matters, he may shut you out by drawing a psychic circle around himself which you cannot penetrate, or by surrounding himself with psychic armor or atmosphere […] But as he will not likely know anything of this, the average person may be reached in the manner just mentioned. Here we see that the target subject has the equal ability to use his conscious mind to direct his subconscious mind to protect against unwanted outside influences, provided he understands the principles involved. So there are certainly measures of protection, as there certainly would be if the psychic senses evolved as a natural extension of our innate human abilities. The above quote suggests that knowledge of this psychic ability and its workings will provide all that is needed to protect oneself from psychic attacks. This same claim is repeated again and again in all of the literature on this subject and not a word to the contrary, so there is likely to be a great deal of truth to it. In fact, it’s only logical that a communication system such as this, which appears to work directly on the subjective mental plane rather than the coarser physical plane, can be so easily affected by subjective influences in this manner. So, while the belief and acceptance of psychic phenomena as a real possibility effectively allows it to occur in a person’s experiences, the added belief and acceptance that a person can block psychic influences that go against his own desires or

intentions is just as easily accommodated by the principles involved. What I quoted from Ingo Swann should be taken into account here, since it reveals that there certainly is a means for protecting oneself early on, or at any time after a person becomes aware of possible psychic attack. It’s only the subject’s own sympathetic receptivity to the attacker’s suggestions or commands that can interfere with their own choices in whether to submit to the influences or not, and so it is only the suggestions or commands that the attacker may have already planted in the subject’s mind to pre-empt any attempts to overrule the subject’s own suggestions or commands that the subject must deal with in order to free themselves from unwanted influence. These planted suggestions or commands might be to feel indifference, self-doubt, fear, or whatever other belief or attitude might subvert the subject’s efforts to retain or regain full command of their own mind and defeat further influences. Panchadasi goes on to explain: [B]y denying the power of any person over you, you practically neutralize his psychic power—the stronger and more positive your belief in your immunity, and your denial of his power over you, the more do you rob him of any such power. The average person, not knowing this, is more or less passive to psychic influences of other persons, and may be affected by them to a greater or less extent, depending upon the psychic development of the person seeking to influence him. At the extreme of the sensitive pole of psychic influence, we find those persons who believe firmly that the other person has power over them, and who are more or less afraid of him. This belief and fear acts to make them particularly sensitive and impressionable, and easily affected by his psychic induction. Does this sound familiar to any of my readers who feel they might be under psychic attack? Fear is a very powerful motivator, and the only thing that conquers it is its polar opposite – courage. But courage often requires levels of risk that someone in an already

weakened state finds almost impossible to bring within their grasp in order to help themselves. But this doesn’t need to be the case. Small actions can add up to large outcomes, and this is no different a case as any other. Panchadasi continues: The secret is that the victims believed in the power of the other person, and feared their power. The greater the belief in, and fear of, the power of the person, the greater the susceptibility to his influence; the greater the sense of power of neutralizing the power, and the disbelief in his power to affect them, the greater the degree of immunity: this is the rule! So here is the seed of a solution, and one that can be worked on and developed once the victimized subject recognizes the fact that they can neutralize any psychic influences playing against them (whether known about or not), and that it only requires certain mental input that needs to be practiced and made familiar so that it becomes an automated subconscious response. The more this is done, the stronger and more automatic the counter-effect becomes. As I stated in the first part of this article – and I can’t stress this enough – belief is a key element for successful of psychic influence, and this applies as much in the case of the attacker as in the subject being attacked. Much of the strength of religious (or even scientific) beliefs lies in the fact that so many minds have provided the energetic impetus for marvels of a spiritual (or scientific) nature to occur. The same can be said for the belief in and resulting effects of sorcery, demons, or any other sort of phenomena. The cumulative beliefs of many minds does indeed provide a greater sense of reality to whichever belief system a person adheres to, and it is only the level of acceptance of a belief that determines what effect it can have on the believer and to what degree. A total lack of understanding doesn’t negate the power of a belief, since belief doesn’t require full understanding but only faith, however, a greater understanding will reveal both the power and

the limitations of that belief, so it’s always better to learn about and understand something you choose to believe in and incorporate that knowledge into your larger belief system in order to have a better foundation from which to deal with your experiences. By understanding your beliefs and consciously operating through them, you become very grounded and more in rapport with your higher self, which you will find to be incredibly rewarding and empowering. Panchadasi explains that the belief and confidence of the attacker in his own abilities is just as important as the subject’s belief and confidence in them, and this will play a large part in establishing the sort of rapport that will allow the attacker to dominate his subject so severely. If you cultivate the proper self-image, beliefs, and attitudes, and apply them using the processes that I have described within this article, you will become impervious to psychic attacks while at the same time beginning to develop a healthy connection to your higher self, and therefore your higher power. Very often, people believe in things that they don’t fully understand, and this applies as much to the workings of a car engine or computer as much as it does psychic phenomena, so this isn’t something relegated only to people who are superstitious. Of course, in the case of car engines and computers, these will still operate whether or not we might believe they will, but this is certainly not the case in regards to psychic phenomena, which, as I’ve said, appear to be determinant on whether those people involved are sympathetic to the idea of its occurrence. What is it that sets these different types of belief apart? How can a car engine or a computer work in spite of whether we know and believe they will, while psychic phenomena won’t? To understand this you have to realize that car engines and computers and all other things that operate so predictably in the material world that we’re familiar with are deeply entwined in physical processes, while psychic phenomena, by their very nature, are derived from mental processes, or at least processes related to consciousness rather than matter. That they can affect material substance and how they

might do so is another matter, but it is obvious that all forms of psychic phenomena (and particularly the more common forms, such as telepathy) originate from the minds of those involved in a mutual understanding of sorts, and there are certain attributes that define the underlying conditions required for these phenomena to arise, some of which I’ve already discussed. All of these conditions are essentially subjective in nature, meaning that they reflect the mental states of those parties involved. The primary motive of any attacker is to dominate the will of his adversary. Therefore, retaining (or regaining) one’s sense of individual free will should be the primary defensive attitude towards a psychic attack. Attitude is a mental state, and as such it has a psychological effect that operates at a subconscious level to automatically filter out anything coming in from the senses (including more than just the five recognized ones) that doesn’t fit the associated beliefs and expectations related to that attitude. Attitude is built on a certain subset of beliefs and expectations and it reflects your experiences through them, so learning and understanding how psychic phenomena have their effect will certainly help in developing an attitude that will serve to protect you and aid you in developing your own natural psychic strength. At the same time, by examining your current attitude towards psychic phenomena – particularly if you suspect you’re under psychic attack – you’ll soon begin to recognize those beliefs and expectations that support the possibility of psychic interference occurring. You’ll also recognize those uncertainties you have that might only require further knowledge to better understand what’s going on and how to deal with it. When you’re conscious of any negative attitude you might have towards something, whether it’s fear, discouragement, uncertainty, self-doubt, indifference, or whatever else, you’re always in a position to change that attitude to something more positive by reprogramming yourself with a new one that better suits your interests. Fear can be turned into courage, discouragement into empowerment, uncertainty into knowledge, self-doubt into determination, indifference into motivation. (Having a large

vocabulary of words that describe the many subjective states we might hold in our minds at any given time can only help to increase a person’s recognition and understanding of the subtler aspects of their own attitudes, and will provide a virtual treasure of possibilities in how to better approach a given situation or problem. I suggest to readers who are interested to explore this with the aid of a thesaurus and dictionary, and create a list of each of your mental strengths and mental weaknesses, dispositions towards different things, etc., in order to become more aware of all of the subtler aspects of your conscious thought processes and how they come into play in any given situation, for better or worse.) The most important thing for a targeted individual is to retain or regain your ability to exercise your free will, and this begins with the recognition of those subjective traits you possess that interfere with that free will, and to identify whether they’re due to your current beliefs or your current uncertainties. Once these are identified, you can begin to correct what needs to be corrected in your mental makeup in order to prevent against psychic attacks, since these will be the aspects that an attacker will take advantage of. I will quote Panchadasi one more time: In the first place, you must, of course, refuse to admit to your mind any feeling of fear regarding the influence of other persons—for that is the open door to their influence, as I have pointed out to you. If you have been, or are fearful of any person’s psychic influence, you must get to work and drive out that feeling by positive and vigorous denials. The denial, you remember, is the positive neutralizer of the psychic influence of another person, providing you make it in full belief of its truth. You must take the position (which is a true one) that you are immune to the psychic attack or influence. You should say, mentally, "I deny to any person the power to influence me psychically without my consent; I am positive to all such influences, and they are negative to me; I neutralize them by this denial!" If you feel sudden impulses to act in some way which you have not thought of doing, or toward which

you have had an aversion, pause a moment and say, mentally, "If this is an outside influence, I deny its power over me; I deny it, and send it back to its sender, to his defeat and confusion." You will then experience a feeling of relief and freedom. You will see within this last quote that the matter of psychic influence is rooted entirely within the mental realm, and relies on your own beliefs and attitudes, which essentially determine whether or not you’re susceptible to psychic attacks. It matters not whether you fully understand the mechanisms that allow such phenomena to occur – trust in your own higher power as a spiritual being, and know that deeper subconscious forces within your full makeup can and will protect you at that level as long as you deny them the ability. *** References: Swami Panchadasi: Clairvoyance and Occult Powers Bhakta Vishita: Genuine Mediumship or The Invisible Powers Ingo Swann: Telepathic Overlay Psychic Attacks and the Issue of Rapport – Part III by Anthony Forwood Following what I’ve said in the last two parts of this article, I decided to continue with this third part, in order to enlarge on certain aspects of this topic and introduce some further ideas that might help readers to understand rapport in relation to themselves and their deeper potential within the greater scheme of things – what can be referred to as the higher self.

In the most basic sense, we connect to each other as individual beings through interactive communication, and in order to communicate or interact at all, we must adhere to common rules and meanings. This is a fundamental law of nature, and it applies as much on a psychic level as it does on a physical level. For any type of communication to occur at all, whether by talking, writing, morse code, telepathy, or anything else, we must first be able to recognize and interpret the signals through a deeper, preestablished framework of understanding that all participants share. In the case of psychic events, just as with physical events, this framework defines the laws of nature that apply, and these laws apply to all involved, equally. This means that you have as much potential within you to learn and understand and deal with your reality as any other being that shares it and operates within it. No other being has the natural right or even the ability to overrule your own spirit or higher mind, and it’s only on the lower planes of mind and body that such unwanted influence is possible. Remember this always. Losing sense of your own potentially infinite individuality is easy while you’re attention is rooted in matters that arise on these lower levels of existence, and this can be avoided by developing a clear picture of yourself in relation to the greater scheme of things – as an immortal being of immense potentiality with your own conscious intent and purpose who has voluntarily chosen to participate in an ongoing experiential process that offers the opportunity for further development of your deeper self. When you consciously recognize this fact and picture yourself this way in your mind, whether you interpret it through your own belief system or take it as plainly as it’s stated, it will immediately empower you, and you’ll begin to establish rapport with your higher self. I refer readers back to what was discussed in the second part of this article, where I explained how the subconscious mind is able to be programmed, and takes every mental thought, attitude, and

impression you might have as an instruction. This is very important to understand, and deserves a fuller discussion in a separate article, but for now I would just like to remind the reader of what was stated, and to become mindful of the content of your thoughts and the subtler intonations and suggestive qualities within them. Knowing yourself on a deeper level involves becoming conscious of this subtler mental activity that arises even before a thought or impression is fully formed into non-abstract mental activity that consists of clearly defined words and images. This is the level that psychic influences can be detected and defended against, and so it’s very important to begin to recognize and become familiar with this lower-level mental activity and how you communicate with yourself through it. This is the level at which your conscious mind interacts with your subconscious mind, and when you have rapport with it, you can utilize the subconscious in ways that go beyond normal functioning. But for the time being, it is vital that you understand that your conscious thoughts and attitudes toward specific things can act on the subconscious in ways that cause negative outcomes or confuse it by contradictory thoughts. Positive thoughts should always dominate your consciousness, since negative thoughts will otherwise tend to come into manifestation. I can only describe things here in terms of how I understand or perceive them, and provide concepts that I hope will convey deeper understandings, so it may be difficult for some readers to accept some of what I say except to interpret it in terms of your own belief systems, and to that I suggest you do so, since that will be to your advantage. The important thing is to recognize where your beliefs pose limitations or work against you and where they can’t accommodate your experiences and leave you with uncertainties. It is often difficult to deal with things because we have a false impression of ourselves, having buried our weaknesses under selfdenials and pretensions while letting our self-doubts limit our true capacities. It is therefore important to establish complete honesty with yourself, and recognize that you’re safe from the judgment of others when you admit to yourself your own shortcomings. Nothing is wrong with having faults, because you can learn from them. How

can you ever know what’s really the best solution unless you first discover what isn’t? So accept all your faults and weaknesses as fact, and go from there. Don’t ever mislead yourself with wishful thinking or pretentiousness, but rather take a cold, hard look at yourself, your thinking patterns, reflexive responses to things, attitudes, beliefs, etc., and take note of what stands out as your most positive and helpful traits and what stands out as your most negative and debilitating traits. When you do this, you develop a clear, undistorted image of who you really are at a deeper level, and this will create instant rapport with your higher self. This connection is important to understand, because when you’re thinking about yourself without distortion in this way, you’re not blocking or filtering the communication you have with that higher self, and information from that higher source can come through freely and unhindered. Nothing in life should ever be forced, and so this exercise should be undertaken without pressure or too much concern about doing it perfectly at first, and only do it to the degree that you feel comfortable with, and only when you feel ready for it. The idea is to become familiar with your deeper sense of being, and to be interested in improving on yourself so that you’ll encounter fewer problems in life and perhaps even develop new and unexpected abilities. I don’t profess to be a teacher to anyone, and can only offer ideas that I’ve found to be useful to myself that I’ve acquired from others and incorporated into my own worldview, and this will be the same for anyone. In the process of doing this, I’ve cultivated the idea of my higher self, and developed an understanding of it in order to feel comfortable with the idea that there is a higher purpose to life that isn’t about serving some other dominating and more powerful being, which would require me to give up my free will by accepting that domination and submitting to it. I’ve never felt secure about making such a leap of faith to place myself in the hands of something or someone who I could never conceive would ever value me as much as I might value myself (and certainly not as

much as itself), and I’ve always been suspicious of belief systems that demand such blind servitude. Developing an understanding of my higher self in view of the bigger picture – the higher level of reality that deals with the underlying meaning of it all… of birth and death and evolution and creative free will – has led me to perceive that our sense of self and the beliefs we hold largely determine what will become of any one of us who relinquishes our free will to a higher power that is not our own. To even think of this higher power as a separate entity to ourselves that we must depend on and make sacrifices to in order to gain its favor is a grave mistake that will only lead to greater enslavement of the potentially immortal spirit or soul, drawing us repeatedly into the coarser levels of reality such as the physical one we now find ourselves in. There is surely more to our individuality and existence than just this, in the end. We just have to recognize this fact and strive to understand it better, and it will develop more fully in our awareness as the unmitigated truth, empowering us further as individual creative beings with infinite potential. But I let you, the reader, to choose for yourself what you want for yourself. That is exactly what you’ll get. This is a universal law of nature. This is how your deeper connectivity with the outside world responds to your conscious thoughts. When you recognize your higher self, you recognize that there are three aspects of being – body, mind, and spirit. I don’t want to sound like I’m preaching religious doctrine, which I’m not, but these three aspects of being are very real, no matter how they’ve been described in certain belief systems. When you understand this basic fact, you’ll be able to better understand the deeper processes that are involved in your experiences and you’ll stop seeing things as problems, but rather as opportunities. As you become more familiar with your higher self and learn to communicate with it as easily as if it were your best and most trusted friend, you will definitely begin to see positive changes in yourself. You’ll also see that things begin to work in your favor, even if only in small ways. Life becomes easier. You’ll feel more complete, more capable, more prepared to deal with your experiences. You don’t need to appeal

to a god or any other being that you imagine to be greater than yourself. Doing that will only handicap you by the very suggestion implicit in such an idea, that you are lesser than any other being that might exist and must depend on it. Balance must be maintained, however. To overdo it and imagine that you’re greater than you really are will only lead to distortions that will trip you up, and this leads to all the kinds of evils that we see in the physical world, and which obsess the thoughts of many people. It should be understood that communication with your higher self requires being in rapport with your true sense of being, which initiates a clear, undistorted signal through which communication with that higher self can be made. The communication will probably be no more than intuitive impressions, and may not appear to arrive immediately, but this is only because the connection is barely developed, and it takes some time, practice, and familiarity before the signals are easily recognized. But along the way, you’ll find that synchronicities will occur, where information that arrives first through your higher self as an idea or intuition will then (and almost immediately) be substantiated by some event or occurrence that is beyond coincidence to have happened and which relates directly to that idea or intuition you just had. For instance, I very often have ideas or intuitions that are immediately substantiated when I go to read up on some unrelated thing and the very idea or intuition is stated there in plain words, very clearly but very unexpectedly. As a matter of fact, while in the process of writing the second part of this article, I had taken out a few library books, one of them being Human Personality and Its Survival of Bodily Death, by the late psychic investigator Fredrick William Henry Myers, which looked to be interesting, but apart from the title I had no idea what might be within it’s pages. I only started reading the book after having already finished writing the second part of this article, and within the first few pages the author began discussing levels of awareness, which was a synchronicity in itself since I had been

writing about self-awareness and along very similar lines of thought as the author was discussing. But it went even further than this. After I finished writing the previous paragraph above, I decided to take a break and do some more reading. I opened the book and continued from where I had left off earlier in the day, only to come across the following: The idea of a threshold of consciousness – of a level above which sensation or thought must rise before it can enter into our conscious life – is a simple and familiar one. The word subliminal, meaning ―beneath that threshold,‖ has already been used to define those sensations which are too feeble to be individually recognized. I propose to extend the meaning of the term, so as to make it cover all that takes place beneath the ordinary threshold, or outside the ordinary margin of consciousness. This includes not only those faint stimulations whose very faintness keeps them submerged, but much else which psychology as yet scarcely recognizes; sensations, thoughts, emotions, which may be strong, definite, and independent, but which seldom emerge into that supraluminal current of consciousness which we habitually identify with ourselves. Perceiving that these submerged thoughts and emotions possess the characteristics which we associate with conscious life, I feel bound to speak of a subliminal or ultramarginal consciousness. Perceiving further that this conscious life beneath the threshold or beyond the margin seems to be no discontinuous or intermittent thing; that not only are these isolated subliminal processes comparable with isolated supraliminal processes (as when a problem is solved by some unknown procedure in a dream), but that there also is a continuous subliminal chain of memory (or more chains than one) involving just that kind of individual and persistent revival of old impressions, and response to new ones, which we commonly call a Self – I find it permissible and convenient to speak of subliminal Selves, or more briefly of a subliminal Self. I do not by using this term assume that there are two correlative and parallel selves existing always within each of us. Rather I mean by the subliminal Self that part of the Self which is commonly subliminal; and I conceive that there may be, not only co-operations between these quasi-independent trains of thought,

but also upheavals and alternations of personality of many kinds, so that what was once below the surface may for a time, or permanently, rise above it. And I conceive also that no Self of which we can here have cognizance is in reality more than a fragment of a larger Self. I apologize for the length of the quote, but I wanted to show exactly what the synchronicity was and how quickly it came about. I had been writing about the higher self, and then immediately turned my attention to reading the book, and by the end of the very first paragraph I had read, the author also introduces the idea of a larger Self. Perhaps I was subconsciously aware of where the book’s discussion would likely lead, or perhaps I subconsciously caught a word or two off the page, or I had picked up subconscious cues some other way that led me to write about the same things as that of the author. Or perhaps it was all just a weird coincidence and meant nothing. Whatever the case, it represents a good example of what I mean by a synchronistic event, and it can be seen here how a sense of rapport existed with my higher self – which was established when I began bringing my attention to it, and which is where the information I wrote emanated from – and what I had just written was verified synchronistically by the very next passages I read in the book. Without going much further on this topic, I should add that such instances of rapport with the higher self and the resulting synchronicities serve to guide us in the right directions of thought and action, and are like getting a supercharge of empowerment and strength of will. The only thing I would warn about is not to have exaggerated expectations regarding your higher self, and to always strive to be honest with yourself about your faults and your strengths, in order that you know where you need more work and where you exult. Then give your higher self the permission to help you in small ways that you can handle and have the most potential to work, never demanding of it and always being patient for the results.

One more piece of wisdom that has helped me to assure that I am always dealing with a benevolent power and not some trickster entity or psychic influences that are meant to deceive… No benevolent power, whether a higher being or a god or anything else, will never force a situation upon you, but will instead only come to you when invited, will only offer something as a suggestion or an opportunity without strings attached and no intimated threats or consequences if you don’t comply. Anything other than that is an abuse of your free will, and your higher self knows this and respects your rights on these lower planes. I now leave you and move on to enjoy further inspiration through the book I have just quoted from, which promises to be a rewarding experience, indeed. I hope that I’ve developed some positive rapport with my readers, and have helped them to find rapport with their own higher self. Stay strong!
