METHOD STATEMENT

PROPOSED METHOD STATEMENT FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A 200,000 GALLONS TANK AT LA-PALM BEACH HOTEL (ACCRA) MOBILIZATION ON

i.

Set up site office.

SITE

ii.

Install temporal power.

iii.

Install temporal water services.

SOIL TEST

iv. Set line and grade benchmarks. Trial pit excavation and measured points for design and construction methods.

MIX DESIGN

Trial mix is prepared for strength determination of available materials: for 1:2:3- 1:2:4 mix ratio.

CLEARING , HOARDING

Site is cleared and prepared for excavation to tank base pit and

& EXCAVATION

pad foundation to columns.

TIMBERING/SHORING

Faces of walls of pit are timbered or shored if necessary.

SURFACE TREATMENT

Base of excavated pit is compactor and blinded with 50mm thick

weak concrete. Faces of base slab and wall kicker up-stand are shuttered as edge timber at about 1000mm high.

REINFORCEMENT

i. Starters for pad foundation and columns are fixed and cast to

i. Formwork for roof slab & beams are erected. ii. Fixing of slab and beams reinforcement. iii. Casting of concrete to slab & beams.

4th Pour Formwork is removed 21 days after casting of concrete STRIKING OF FORM All necessary Pipeworks and installation of pipe fittings are fixed. PLUMBING INSTALLATION Pumps, control panels and all other electrical installation will be ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION TESTING
